The Edward Buffalo

Self check in was a breeze. The hotel is very nondescript from the outside but beautiful once you get inside. The wall paper on the stairs reminded me of Suspiria. The large room was decorated in a fun, over the top sort of way. The bed was super comfortable and the room darkened enough to not wake at first light. The shower was large and tastefully designed....and having creamers for the coffee in the room was a great touch. Parking was appreciated but not assigned and I did get the last spot. I loved being walkable to Forest Lawn.

The only reason I knocked it a star is the checkout. 10 am check out felt a bit like rushing the guest to leave. Standard is 11 most hotels (I travel a lot).

Beautiful hotel. Clean common areas and room with a very comfortable bed. Charming walkable neighbourhood with lovely homes and good food. Friendly and helpful staff.

The location was ideal for a weekend visit to Buffalo. Liked the quiet atmosphere and comfortable public areas. Enjoyed the art in the hallways, the public areas and in our room.

Beautiful fancy decor and jet tub was a great addition. The cost was very afordable aswell. Bed was extremly comfy and pillows where firm but soft! Plenty of parking and great size room!

The 1 knob on the tub came off as well as the shower knob. There was a moldy thing on the bottom skirt of the bed. There was 0 extra towels. They said none till checkout time the next day. The tub also had tape over a hole where something fell off.

No elevator listed we 70 needed help. No personal on site to check in or out. Hot water took 5 minutes to get warm. No chair at desk. Bathroom so small no place to put toiletries

Beautiful styled rooms and common areas. Super clean and everything worked as expected. Nice location that was quiet and still close to some great areas. Easy parking and access to the hotel and room. Stayed here for a black tie wedding and we felt so regal with this stay as our backdrop getting ready!

Our room was Immaculately clean with a comfortable king bed, beautiful architectural details and furnishings. The Edward is located in a cool neighborhood near great restaurants. Keyless entry system. Very private.

The lobby was very nice and clean. Wonderful .

Location was convenient. A 10-minute walk to Elmwood Avenue, which has many restaurants, shops, and markets. Staff was responsive to requests.

We were expecting a hotel with restaurant,bar, and elevator. This is a “boutique “ hotel, which apparently means it has none of those things. We arrived after a long tiring day to find that we had to schlep our bags up to the second floor and go out to find supper. This is a converted home. Rooms are well appointed. There is tea and coffee service in a lounge with a few snacks. Once you know what it is, it’s fine.

Excellent hotel for the price. It’s quiet and very well Done.

Beautiful small boutique hotel. Our Room -The Madison has elevated decoration and function. Very safe neighborhood and many walkable restaurants nearby. Loved the keycode entry.

Not really a negative-Entry door had some small stone steps and I tripped entering and also another guest observed doing the same. (Maybe due to uneven height). May benefit from some small safety markings.

The rooms were comfortable, bed was comfortable. Could text the attendent and would receive a prompt response. The area around the hotel was very nice, Location was convient for the reason of our visit, with great resturant down the street. Would stay here again.

Wished there was a regular chair in the room instead of the 2 high top chairs. The refigerate is behind a closed door, to help with ventalation for the frig might want to consider vents in the door or on the side of the cabinet, and need to wipe down the inside of the cabinet because it was always warm when opened to cabinet to access the frig-this did not affect our stay, but the longevity of the frig it might.

I liked the building itself. It was nicely updated.

The fact it was unmanned was positive and negative. The staff were in good communication but it also almost seemed like we were the only ones staying at the hotel.

This is a unique, boutique facility. It's beautiful and nicely quirky. The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. The location was perfect for our activities in Buffalo.

It was so easy to locate and navigate the streets with parking! Host was great with communicating directions and such. It was very clean and beautiful! The bed was really comfortable!

It is an older building so the sound travels and you can hear other guests in the hallways and across the hall in their room if they are loud or have crying children.

The location was good and we were told about a restaurant nearby which we liked. The house was decorated beautifully, and the parking lot was close by and free.

Loved the hospitality, the sitting room with fireplace, the amenities and the on site parking.. the off site manager was always available and exceptionally helpful. Have nothing negative or recommendations for improvement!

Despite being staffless on site, the phone communications where quick and responsive. Rooms where comfortable. They offered more free amenities than the richardson at the a cheaper overall price.

Champagne rooms ac was struggling on the hot day. Being set to 62 got the room to 72-74. I looked in the vents a cleaning of the unit should help.

Gorgeous decor in great location, a two block stroll past lovely historic homes too a supermarket, restaurants and shops.

A small thing .. the hot water for the tea and coffe in the foyer was super slow to work.

One of the sinks in the bathroom was broken and gushed water all over the floor. Thankfully, we had another sink that worked just fine. We just notified staff of the need for repair.

Beautiful place. Room was clean and comfortable. Easy check-in and great communication from the staff. Excellent location as well.

We were on the first floor and the footsteps upstairs were pretty loud and woke us up several times. I would still 100% stay there again and would just bring earplugs or headphones. Outside of that it was actually very quiet and peaceful. I wish we were staying longer to enjoy some of the common areas in the hotel. Very charming.

Beautiful. Very comfortable. Tho the interactions with staff were not in person, they were warm and efficient.

Just one thing to improve: our room had a nightstand that wasn't securely fastened to the wall. I was staying with two small girls, and when they opened the nightstand's door, it tipped over onto them—causing the lamp, which is quite heavy, to fall on one of the girls. Fortunately, no one was hurt, but I recommend securing that nightstand more firmly.

I like the self checkin and checkout features. The area feels safe. The suite is elegantly decorated and has everything you need. There’s a room downstairs with water, coffee and tea the whole place is very clean.

Sehr einfacher Self-Check-in. Personal gab es nicht, wir hatten nur via WhatsApp Kontakt, der war aber sehr zufriedenstellend. Große Dusche, großer TV. Gaststätten und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten fussläufig erreichbar. Gemeinschaftlicher Aufenthaltsraum mit Wasserspender, offener Kamin.

Waschbecken war im Zimmer integriert, sehr schlechtes (geringes) Licht. Licht im Bad ging immer automatisch mit Türöffnung an (kein Schalter). Bett sehr weich und wir konnten das Zimmer (nachts) nicht abdunkeln

The entire experience was wonderful. Our room (the Green Suite) was phenomenal, bright, clean and spacious. We will definitely stay again.

We wished there wad a bit more off street parking, but we did park on the street with no issues.

Convenient location, very clean the beds and pillows were very comfortable. A nice sunroom with snacks and tea and coffee.

Paper thin walls. Hear the people above walking. Hear the traffic outside. Hear the neighbors turn on their shower.

We had a lovely room in a good location.

It’s always nice to have some staff around to great you and be there if there are any issues. I don’t think we encountered anyone other than another guest.

Room was decorated with every single detail in mind. Down to the lighting and every piece of furniture. Bed was ridiculously comfortable with premium linens. Check-in was simple and staff was very on point. I will stay here every time I am downtown.

The property was in a location that made it easy to get in and out of downtown. The bed was fairly comfortable and the room and bathroom were impeccably clean. The fireplace added heat which was needed.

The thermometer did not work and the room would have been cold had the fireplace not been there. The property just feels incomplete. Upon entrance you come up to a room with nothing but a large desk and an empty bookcase. The common spaces just looked empty. Nothing wrong, just not finished.

Decor and convenience.

Room needs a full length mirror and an area to store suitcase, possibly overhead.

The location was good and it was clean and the snacks were a nice amenity.

The person staying above us was very loud at night and we could hear all the noise, which made it hard to go to sleep.

Das Haus war super schön, mit edler Ausstattung. Speziell die gasbetriebene Feuerstelle im Zimmer hat mir sehr gefallen.

Die Wände & Fenster sind sehr dünn, was das Haus leider sehr hellhörig macht. Man hört andere Gäste, sowie den Strassenlärm sehr gut. Zudem sind die Fenster alt & undicht, was es schwierig macht eine konstante, warme Temperatur im Zimmer zu halten.

The location was perfect. Good parking if you get there early.

Beds were way too soft, the totally electronic communications with a staff person was weird. The check out time was too early. It did not feel welcoming.

It was nice to have a breakfast bar in the morning and some popcorn late night ... and the coffee was nice; Erin even made sure our coffee pot worked accordingly ...

Another type of chair to relax in might enhance comfort level ...

Great location a short walk from the lovely Elmwood Village. The room was lovely and we really appreciated the tea, coffee, ice, breakfast bars and microwave popcorn! Erin was lovely and so welcoming and helpful. Self check-in was also very convenient.

Our room was lovely and clean but there were some very muddy paw prints in the hallway outside our door which didn’t give us a great first impression. They were there for our entire three-night stay.

Well decorated, quiet, comfortable bed, thoughtful room amenities like complimentary snacks, wine opener, stainless steel ice bucket and tongs, artwork , remote-controlled mood lighting.

A bathrobe would compliment all the room amenities

The hotel is very cute and nicely decorated. The room was very comfortable and clean. The bed was large with nice sheets. They have an automated system so you essentially never halve to talk to anyone. Once you figure it out it's very efficient. Despite that the staff is very responsive. We forgot a small item in the room and the texted us about it quickly and set up a pickup.

The room is a little small. The location also isn't especially close to anything -- though there are some restaurants that are within walking distance, but if you have a car it's fine. They only have a few parking spots, and it you park on the street, be aware of alternate street parking restrictions -- we got a ticket. Not the fault of the hotel, but something to be aware of.

Such a great stay at The Edward this weekend! Very comfortable beds, wonderful shower and amazing giant TV. The decor is really pretty. I love a good boutique hotel over the big corporate chains, and The Edward truly delivers. And all for a very affordable price. You won't be disappointed with your stay.
