Shahi Palace Hotel Jaisalmer

Our stay at Shahi Palace hotel was excellent. We decided to upgrade our room to one with a view of the Jaisalmer fort, but this was nothing to the 360 degree view from the rooftop restaurant . This was a great hang out in the heat of the day and there was nothing too much for our waiter Ketaram to supply, whether it was shades for the seating, special diet foods or simply good conversation as his English was very good. Highly recommended.

Las vistas del fuerte al atardecer y al amanecer son inolvidables. Y la noche en el desierto que hicimos con ellos fue maravillosa.

Excellent location and comfortable rooms, with charming local handicraft decor throughout. The rooftop terrace was a great hangout spot with an epic view of the fort. Helpful staff, with a shoutout to Khetaram who provided our delicious meals and was good company (especially for cricket chat!). We were very happy with our stay.

The owners/staff at Shai Palace took care of everything we needed - from lifts to and from the train station to arranging the desert safari (which was a great experience). The food on the roof terrace was excellent, and they were happy to serve us when we arrived late. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Overall, we would thoroughly recommend it.

Jaisalmer की यात्रा को यादगार बनाने के लिए Hotel Shahi Palace का बहुत-बहुत धन्यवाद। यहाँ का स्टाफ बेहद विनम्र और मददगार है। कमरे साफ-सुथरे, आरामदायक और अच्छी तरह से मेंटेन हैं। होटल का माहौल शांत और पारिवारिक है। रूफटॉप से किले का नज़ारा शानदार दिखता है और खाना भी बहुत स्वादिष्ट था। सेवा हर समय बेहतरीन रही और हमें किसी भी तरह की असुविधा नहीं हुई। अगर Jaisalmer में अच्छी लोकेशन, बेहतरीन सर्विस और आरामदायक ठहराव चाहिए, तो मैं इस होटल की पूरी सिफारिश करता हूँ। अगली बार Jaisalmer आऊँगा तो यहीं रुकना पसंद करूँगा।

The romantic fort view from the roof top is beautiful , especially at night when it's lit up . Friendly helpful staff . Centrally located. Fort and market is in walking distance.

Such an incredible place. Location was perfect, not inside the (much too busy) fort but everything was accessible by foot which was really nice. The room was really authentic, and everything was very clean. The staff was just amazing, they came to pick us up at the train station, offered us a ride to see Bada Bagh and even invited us for dinner !! They also organised a camel safari tour which was one of the best experience I’ve had, so beautiful, peaceful and untouched desert. They took everything in charge. An incredible stay, would really recommend !!!

Essen auf der Dachterrasse mit dem super Blick auf die Festung. Toll warr, dass wir nach 20stündiger Zugfahrt um Mitternacht auf der Dachterrasse noch warmes Essen bekamen.

Die Klimaanlage funktionierte nicht gut und war sehr laut. In der letzten Nacht wurde ich von irgendwelchen Viechern arg zerstochen

Sehr schönes Hotel, sehr gut gelegen Zimmer war schön ausgestattet, Bett sehr bequem und alles sehr schön und sauber. Das Personal war überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit. Während unsere Kamel-Tour konnten wir das Gepäck dort lassen und am Abreisetag das Zimmer bis nachmittags nutzen. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt.

Nettes, kompetentes Personal, hilfsbereiit. Fuhren uns einfach so nach Bada Bagh und luden uns auf Chai in ihr Privathaus ein. Dachterrasse mit Blick aufs Fort, schönes Zimmer, gutes Restaurant. Wurden auch nach unserer Ankunft nach Mitternacht noch bewirtet.

Die Klimaanlage war nicht regulierbar und sehr laut. Wurde von irgendwelchen Tieren zerstochen

Great location to Fort, Shops, Lake. Rooftop restaurant served delicious food. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Camel safari and car transfers to and from Jodhpur were arranged through hotel and were fabulous. Highly recommend staying here.

Super nice staff and nice rooftop bar

Au pied du fort, bien équipé et décoré, magnifique vue depuis le rooftop. Au calme, bonne literie, eau chaude. Personnel professionnel et sympa. Restauration variée et copieuse (dîner comme petit dej). Au lieu de passer une nuit dans un camp du désert, nous aurions aimé rester une nuit de plus pour profiter pleinement de ce bel endroit.

Salle de bain dans son jus, un peu étriquée. Elle fait le job sans faire rêver

Shahi Palace is a lovely place to stay. All the staff are friendly and welcoming and the position is perfect for exploring the city. The rooftop restaurant also has the best views of the fort in Jaisalmer. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly too. We tried the poha for breakfast and it’s the best we’ve had in India 😄 Rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious with nice showers and tea/coffee making facilities too. Make sure you get a fort view room as the others looked a bit dark when we walked by.

Just a bit overpriced for what it is, we stayed in the fort view room, that is more expensive but also very small.

Goede prijs-kwaliteitverhouding, zeer behulpzaam personeel. We mochten de dag na onze safari gratis gebruik maken van een kamer om te douchen. We werden gratis naar het busstation gebracht. De kamers waren lekker koel. Op het dakterras heb je een prachtig uitzicht op het fort.

Er viel niets echt tegen, de prijs-kwaliteitverhouding is gewoon heel erg goed. Je krijgt waar je voor betaalt. De kamers zijn niet heel erg ruim en wat sober ingericht.

The hotel and its location are good, food excellent, staff great. They organised our desert safari and we were pleased it was non touristic and quiet, not loud like others we heard. We enjoyed chatting with staff member Khetaram who served us most of our meals

Room was a little small but it had what we needed and the bed was lovely and soft.

Hotel surrounding area dirty. No elevator. If you want to go to restaurant then have to climb two floors. I will not recommend to stay

La vue depuis la terrasse, la qualité du personnel, la propreté.

Das Fort ist sehr schön u. Ist das einzige der Welt welches noch bewohnt ist. Ich hab mir das 4 tägige Desertfestival angeguckt welches sehr sehenswert ist. Auch hat mir mein halbtagestrip in die Wüste sehr gut gefalken. Mit 40 min. Kamelritt durch die Wüste, ein Dorf, Fort u. Kuldhara ein verlassenes Dorf zu sehen plus eine Oase zu besuchen standen auch auf dem Orogramm. Zum Schluss haben unsere Guides in der Wüste ein leckeres Abendessen für uns zubereitet. Zum Schluss haben wir den Sternenübersäten Nachthimmel betrachtet. Neben mir waren noch eine Mutter mit Tochter aus Australien dabei. Es war ein wunderbares Erlebnis für uns alle.

My experience at Shahi Palace Jaisalmer was absolutely wonderful. The hotel perfectly combines traditional Rajasthani charm with modern comfort, making it a beautiful and relaxing place to stay. The staff is incredibly warm, friendly, and always ready to help. Their hospitality makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive. If you are visiting Jaisalmer, Shahi Palace is definitely a fantastic choice for location, hospitality, food, and overall experience. Highly recommended!

המיקום טוב בקרוב לאגם ולמבצר. הנוף מהמסעדה על הגג יפה. ביום השני לאחר שהחליפו לי חדר, היה דווקא טוב ונקי. הצוות נחמד מאיר פנים. בקבלה ובמסעדה. עזרו לי מאוד בעצה להמשך הטיול והזמינו מונית ליעד הבא.

ביום הראשון לשהיה, המקלחת לא עבדה והמזרון היה שוקע ולא נוח. מכיוון ששמתי לב רק בלילה, נאלצתי לחכות ליום הבא.

I had an absolutely amazing stay! The staff were incredibly hospitable, kind, helpful, and accommodating — they truly went above and beyond to make our visit special. From arranging transport to even taking us to watch the beautiful sunset, their warmth and generosity made us feel completely at home. The hotel facilities were excellent — everything was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with an amazing view of the fort right from our room. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Our desert safari experience was equally unforgettable. It was peaceful, well-organized, and filled with thoughtful touches. The team made sure we were comfortable at every step, serving delicious food and drinks, and being incredibly attentive during the camel ride. Special thanks to Baju and Tiger, who were outstanding hosts — kind, welcoming, and full of energy. Overall, our experience was beyond expectations — full of warmth, care, and genuine hospitality. I woulf highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

Het uitzicht was geweldig van het dakterras, de kamer was super mooi en schoon en het personeel was super. Het eten was ook heerlijk in het restaurant. Vooral de poha voor ontbijt was heerlijk!

La posizione è ottima, in pochi minuti a piedi si arriva all'ingresso del forte. La terrazza si affaccia direttamente sul forte ed è molto suggestiva e piacevole di sera. Lo staff è molto cordiale e premuroso.

La nostra camera era molto piccola e con i bagagli era difficile muoversi comodamente. L'unica finestra presente dà sul corridoio interno della struttura quindi c'è poco ricambio d'aria.

La chambre était vraiment propre et spatieuse. Le propriétaire et les employés sont trop gentils et toujours prêt à aider et répondre aux questions. La terrace sur le toit est super mignonne et donne une vue incroyable sur le fort de Jaisalmer!

Habitación doble superior con vistas a la fortaleza , a eso se refiere una habitación con vistas a la pared de enfrente. Surtido de baño , se refiere a dos mini pastillas de jabón y un tarro de champú al que le quedaba algo. Calefacción, aún sigo buscándola porque en el baño hacía frío . Secadora de ropa , …… para que ofertan lo que no tienen. La habitación daba tristeza. Es muy fuerte subir a desayunar y encontrarte a un trabajador durmiendo en un banco cubierto por una manta.

Camere molto pulite, belle e tutte diverse, costruite con la pietra tipica di jaisalmier, siamo arrivati alla stazione del treno alle sei del mattino e sono venuti a prenderci dandoci le camere con check in anticipato. In camera tutti i confort, TV, doccia con acqua calda, aria condizionata e phon. Letti comodissimi. A piedi si raggiunge in 10 minuti il forte o il lago. Ristorante sul tetto molto buono. Con vista sul forte. Escursione nel deserto super consigliata, la loro guida Bioju, è bravissima. Ma la cosa migliore è lo staff. Dalla reception al ristorante tutti super disponibili e gentili. Senza di loro non ci sarebbe questa bella atmosfera. Avevamo due camere e i miei figli lo hanno adorato.

Il bagno di una delle camere (30) era un po' scomodo, e il lavandino perde acqua.

We had a really nice stay in shahi palace. The property is really nice and so good. The rooftop restaurant and food are also good. We also did a camel tour with them and it was so so nice.

1. Very courteous staff. They are wonderful and very friendly. 2. Amazing location - 10 min walk from the fort gate 3. Amazing view from the roof top restaurant. 4. Delicious food - Their Chicken Tandoori is probably the best I have tasted in India. 5. Spacious room - in an old heritage style small building, well fitted with bath amenities, and naturally warm during winter.

1. Approach to the hotel is dirty - but not hotel's fault. 2. The first room alloted to us was not properly cleaned - there was hair on the bed, and the mattress smelled of urine/beer, we even saw spots on the mattress. When requested, they promptly changed to another 3 bed room but charged 1000 INR extra per night for the same. Also the first room was very poorly lit. 3. There is no lift (not expected in such small traditional building) - this is not a drawback but people having mobility challenges will have problem climbing the steep staircase to the roof top restaurant. But they serve food in room if ordered.

The staffs very were helpful and kind, the views are awesome.

The bedroom didn't have any external windows and the bathroom was on the smaller side.

We spent two nights at Shahi Palace Hotel on 25 and 26 December 2025 and had a wonderful stay. The hotel is really lovely with a great restaurant on the roof top terrace and a wonderful view of the beautiful Fort. The food is delicious North Indian Rajasthani fare with many continental dishes as well. We really loved the food and ate every meal there and they have great breakfasts. They make fantastic omelets ! The staff in the restaurant is very nice and efficient and very quick and give great service . All very attentive . The rooms are very clean and well appointed with lovely Indian decor , very comfortable beds. We spent two nights on 25 and 26 December 2025 and had a wonderful stay . The staff is exceptional, and the owner Devilal and son Akshay who run the hotel and very welcoming and will do their best to acccomodate guests and all their needs. Rooms are clean and well kept with nice clean white sheets and towels . We will definitely be back when in Jaisalmer. ❤️

The top terrace restaurant and its seating were dirty though the bathroom attached to the room was clean though tiny. The view all round being close to the fort was not great with terrace tops of all the neighborhood with its dirty ambience. Better to stay away from the fort.

The staff was super helpful and polite. Based on our experiences, they were some of the few people in town not trying to scam us. The location was excellent, very close by walk to the fort. And the terrace is a must visit for the fort view. Although we did not stay for long, the room was clean and had all amenities including AC, kettle, etc. There was hot water available as well.

It's a clean and comfortable place. Near the fort. The staff was helpful and went out of their way to help in the night of the hospital emergency.
