We had a wonderful stay at MoonShine Home Stay with our family. The rooms are spacious, neat, and very clean, making the stay comfortable and relaxing. The caretakers are extremely helpful, polite, and always ready to assist, which made us feel at home throughout our visit. Hot water facilities were available, and both breakfast and dinner can be arranged on request. The food served was fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced. Another great advantage is the location, as it is easily accessible and well connected to many prime tourist attractions and important places nearby. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, and family-friendly place with great hospitality, I highly recommend MoonShine Home Stay. We truly enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again

The manager there is too irritating, always nagging and complaining. I came here for vacation but he had more rules than my home. Totally ruined my fun time. 1. You cannot eat in your room. 2. You cannot wear your own slippers 3. You cannot drink in your room if you are a drinker 4. You cannot talk outside your room coz apparently others are sleeping, not that we were making any noise. 5. You cannot keep the fan on to dry your clothes when you leave. 6. He suddenly barges in the room without knocking just to check if you are breaking any rules or not. 7. He comes in your room in your absence using a 2nd key to check on stuff. 8. I understand if we cannot smoke in the room, but you cannot even smoke in your balcony or in the garder area because apparently the vehicles parked there can catch fire 😅 9. Even if you booked and paid for 3 people in advance, once you reach there he asks extra amount for an extra matress which is already there in the room. In short if you want to have fun, especially if you are younger than 40 don't go there, he will ruin your vacation.

Property is very clean but care taker very rude imagin at 1:00 he say go outside what i book i did not get he give some other people our family room amd he force at 1:00am to take normal room we dont have any option so we stay one night

You can’t open balcony you must come back before 11 at night you stay like in jail dont do this i dont know take care person make this rules or owner we pay money for accomodation not a jail

There could be more basic amenities like cupboard, hangers, kettle, tea bags, coffee (early breakfast wasn’t available), body wash and moisturiser kit, hair dryer etc.

Wonderful stay, and the people were very welcoming. Room was very well maintained and the home garden was beautiful.

The location was in a tight street so it was little difficult for the vehicles to come which we cant do anything about.

It was a pleasant stay. You wont feel away from home. The owner and his family never let us feel awkward. The people are very nice. Food absolutely like home whether veg or non veg. Room was cozy. Peaceful stay. I would rate outstanding. Confidently book it. You would love your stay with Moonshine home stay. You can book it blindfoldedly. I spent 5 nights here really it was a praise worthy decision of mine. Rooms look wise outstanding amenities wise outstanding bathroom cleanliness outstanding superb superb. I am tremendously satisfied with my family stay here. I have no words to express my feelings. I would just say thanks to Moonshine for our stay with you with confidence and safety.

There was nothing to dislike.

We were looking for a clean, calm, quiet, non-smoking, non-drinking place to stay. And we found it here! We loved much natural light through windows (I don't feel comfortable in rooms without windows and I am sure that many foreigners feel like me.) We kept the windows open and enjoyed the clean and fresh air. The environment is so quiet, that most of the time we could enjoy the eagles' voice. A mosque is nearby, you can listen to their prayers, too. We didn't mind it at all. The location is not central, but if you are looking for a calm and peaceful stay, you can find it here, and can reach sights easily. We rented a bike for transportation during our holiday. No smoking and no alcohol is our basic lifestyle and we are happy, that we could find a place where we could avoid smoking and drinking people. Both the room and bathroom were spacious and very clean. We liked the nice interiors and simple decoration. The bed was comfortable with a special mattress. As a guest in Moonshine Homestay you become a part of a loving and caring family. We got much help, even before our arrival. Thank you for all recommendations and advice. We hope we can go back soon.

Everything was beyond my expectations. The hosts were incredibly caring and kind — they welcomed me warmly and answered all my questions with attention. The breakfast was delicious, the room was spotless, cozy, and very comfortable. The energy of the place is simply magical, and the location is great. I got sick due to the weather, and they took care of my health and even helped with my travel arrangements. Such a loving and thoughtful family — I felt truly supported and touched🙏 Wish to come back!

A perfect little home stay away from home with an eager to please host, close enough to the beach to be handy, far enough away to be reasonable. I weird to be excited about having a washing machine and line available for me to do my own laundry. Great stay, highly recommended!!

We had an amazing experience at Moonshine Homestay.the place is spotless clean, and very quaint and charming.The room is simple, cosy and remarkably clean. Mr GUL MEER and Mr ashik are perfect hosts - they're funny, friendly, welcoming and go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. If nothing else, you'll make two great friends on your trip. If you're looking for an affordable accommodation, look no further. I"m a young traveller who needs to come to Srinagar frequently for research purposes, and there is no where else i'd be more comfortable staying.

It was a bit far from the main city and dal lake...but as we had our own bike travelling to and from was much easier

I went in a group and we had a great time at this place. I stayed in the month of April and I must say we were well taken care of. The owner really made us feel like an extension of his family which was reassuring and comforting to us and not to mention the food which was awesome. He also provided us with some great transport options which was a huge relief to us. Honestly for the price you pay, I highly recommended this place .it’s great value for money.

Ash and his Family make you feel so welcomed in their home. The room was amazing, clean and has everything you need to make your stay a pleasant one. Ash helped me when I ran into an issue at a petrol station. Everyone is super friendly and treat you like you're part of their family. I couldn't recommend this place enough.

I had a truly lovely stay at this homestay, nestled in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Unfortunately, I fell ill during my visit, but the hosts went above and beyond to take care of me. They personally took me to the hospital and checked in on me regularly, showing genuine care and kindness. Their compassion turned a challenging situation into a comforting experience. I’m incredibly grateful and would wholeheartedly recommend staying here.

The staff, especially our host Mr. Ashiq, was amiable and co-operative. I went on vacation with my family (parents) for 6 days and hence had our own set of requirements, owing to their health complications. I am more than satisfied with the level of co-operation and services provided by them. They have always kept our needs on priority and catered to all our requirements. They also planned our entire sight-seeing experience in and around Srinagar. Mr. Altaaf, associated with the aforementioned property, drove us around and ensured a comfortable and enjoyable ride for my parents. He planned and executed the trips according to our needs and ensured that we had the best possible experience. He also guided us at various tourist spots that we visited and provided us with valuable information about locally overpriced services and fraudulent products. He responded immediately to any emergency, medical or otherwise, and also ensured that our entire experience is completely hassle free.

The staff and the property provided us with home-cooked food as per our requirement and we are satisfied with their service, however, occasionally they served the food a bit late which delayed our daily itinerary by maybe 30 minutes or so; however, it happened only once or twice in 6 days and it didn't affect our plans much.

The stay is top notch in terms of cleanliness and food is homemade good. The staff behaviour is very cold and unpleasant. Most of the time we would be reluctant to ask for things because of how they would respond or get irritated. Would like to highlight that the mattress is low quality and not firm and they dont have bed heating or air conditioner heating. They have gas heater which costs 300 and can only run till 12 am.

It was cold, the heater was for extra charge, and it did not help much. At this time of year in Kashmir it is really cold and for those who need warmth it is better to choose accommodation with air conditioning) in this case I write about it without any claims to this guest house )) I just experienced it and realized that next time this factor will be the main one when choosing accommodation)

The hotel was very nice, we were surprised by the absolute cleanliness, which meets European standards. The hotel manager was very helpful, he was able to advise interesting sites in and around the city, arrange transport, etc. We were very surprised by Srinagar, it is an exciting and quiet city. We met a few tourists from the West there as it has a reputation of being a risky place, which is not true at all. Nowhere have we found such friendly people. The city is much cleaner than other Indian cities, we felt completely safe and the old city's architecture is amazing. Recommend visiting, both the city and this hotel!

I don't know where to begin, the place is excellent. Their hospitality is the best I have ever experienced! Cleanliness, room facilities that you need, safe parking, good and fresh home cooked food all top notch. What else do you need in a stay? Just book here and I'm sure you'll only come back here next time you visit Srinagar.

Right from the main gate to the top floor, every step you take will be neat and clean. Very well designed including the carpets. Each bedroom is maintained and the washrooms are also clean. Owner is professional and speaks fluent English.

The location is not pointed correctly in the map and sometimes it can be not very clear to look for it if you are familiar with Srinagar roads. Also, the roads are narrow in general and it is a bit difficult to manoeuvre if you have a large vehicle

Ash was be try friendly and helpful. We loved the spacious room and comfortable bed. We also loved hanging out with the family at the house, they were all lovely!

The only small issue is the property is very close to the local mosque so we were woken up each morning with the call to prayer at about 5am.

Asif, owner of the property was helpful, friendly. Provided veg dinner for us. No great options for breakfast. Lawn infront of property was joyful and quiet. One can enjoy peaceful evening, if hotel can arrange few more chairs there. Got a feeling to live with fellow kashmiris, as there were no other travellors atleast 4 to 5 km. All are locals. Recommend only for locals, who are willing to stay peacefully without any shops, no other travellers.

Major disppointment was property location. It is completely surrounded by local houses. Not even a single travellor within the vicinity. This may be good for local state people. For us we felt very strange to stay in a place, where there was no other hotels, shops nearby. It was peaceful, but one travelling from long distance from family requires crowded surroundings. It is small narrow road, where you don't find any body after 8 pm.

A quaint little homestay at Srinagar. Their rooms and clean and service by Mr Aashiq is prompt. They also have parking. However the location is not ideal and in a very small lane. Google shows the correct location and you can reach without much hassle. Being a homestay, you cannot expect the services of a hotel. And also be ready for a lecture by Mr Aashiq if you mistakenly leave the lights and fans on in the room. Food is homely and good.

Moonshine Homestay without any hesitation. It offers excellent hospitality and very comfortable rooms. I can confidently say that within this price range, you won't find anything comparable in all of Srinagar. Additionally, it provides Wi-Fi and parking facilities. They have many rooms and two buildings dedicated to the homestay. Additionally, they run a travel agency. Located in Rajbagh, their business has been well-established for a hundred years, providing excellent homestay services in Srinagar. They also own a houseboat named Salmar Houseboat. Their bathrooms and rooms are exceptionally clean and unique, and they prioritize hygiene above all. They ask their guests to remove their shoes and provide slippers to ensure comfort indoors. Each room comes with three slippers: two for the bedroom and one for the bathroom. The bathroom is equipped with a geyser for hot water, ensuring a constant supply of warm water. This homestay also provides facilities for dinner, breakfast, and lunch on-site with excellent service. They offer both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options at different prices: ₹250 per plate for vegetarian and ₹350 per plate ( price may change according to season we take in june 2024) for non-vegetarian, both unlimited. We had the vegetarian thali, which included four types of vegetables and was delicious. They served dinner very graciously, making us feel at home. The owner of the property is an exceptionally energetic and wonderful person. Even if we left early in the morning at 5 AM, he would be available late at night and always answered our phone calls promptly. There was never a time when he didn't pick up the phone. His dedication and energy made our stay even more comfortable and enjoyable. We visited various places such as Sonamarg, Gulmarg, and Gurez Valley, and we consulted with the owner before going. He provided us with contact numbers of his friends or acquaintances there, and his name carried a lot of weight.

A lovely homestay in a quiet location, immaculately clean, build in a traditional Kashmiri style. Super comfortable mattress and pillows, soft towels, great pressure hot shower. Ash and his family are welcoming and will organise your tours or treks if you’re interested. You also can eat there your dinner which is made fresh and is very delicious.

I'm so glad I chose this home stay for my trip in Srinagar. It was such a lovely stay. The host and his family were extremely hospitable, helped us to arrange everything and treated us exceptionally nice. I absolutely loved my stay, will definitely recommend this place and would surely recommend all my friends to stay there too.
