Do not drink the tap water. Signs along the hostel claim that it is purified using osmosis which is utter bs, me and my girlfriend have been sick for 2 weeks because we trusted the hostel signs saying that the water is drinkable. We stayed for 1 week and didn't receive room service once, not even trash taken out. I booked this place as it supposedly won multiple awards on hostelworld, that may have been the case many years ago but its really nothing special. Save your money and go to a nice hotel for the same price. Be prepared to be woken up at 7am due to construction work in the adjacent building.

Die Dachterrasse ist super zum Entspannen. Der Fitnessbereich ist ein Pluspunkt für das Hostel, abgesehen von den Yogamatten , die schmutzig sind. Es gibt genügend Sitzgelegenheiten, wo man Kartenspielen kann oder abends nett zusammen sitzen. Frühstück und/oder Abendessen können günstig dazugebucht werden. Die Portionen sind aber eher klein.

Die Zimmer sind relativ hellhörig (wir waren im Zimmer zur Straße raus) und der Boden knarzt. So wacht man morgens und wenn Leute später abends ins Zimmer kommen schnell auf. Außerdem knarzen die Betten. Ohropax reichen aber aus.

Mi è piaciuta molto la posizione centralissima, oltre alla cordialità dello staff e all’ottima organizzazione. Ho apprezzato soprattutto la disponibilità nel venire incontro a ogni esigenza: una buona connessione internet e, tramite QR code, la possibilità di accedere facilmente a servizi esterni come una lavanderia molto conveniente (160 pesos per 3 kg di biancheria lavata e stirata, pronta in giornata) e il trasporto per l’aeroporto.

Come piccolo suggerimento, sarebbe comodo avere un phon direttamente in bagno, senza doverlo richiedere alla reception. Quello che mi è stato fornito era comunque utile.

Good location to everything, very nice common area, friendly staff. Gym, rooftop terrace were a bonus. Enjoyed the breakfast! Lots of activities organized by the hostel.

The dinner included was meh and portions weren’t enough. A lot of people smoking in the backyard so a little difficult to hang out there.

De kamer was klein en wat benauwd, heel sober, lakens en kussens niet fris en met gaten erin. Ook was het niet erg schoon op de vloer etc. (Wij hadden een kamer geboekt voor drie nachten, het is behorend bij het hostel!)

여기서 머무는 내내 아침 저녁 식사를 먹었는데 정말 괜찮았다. 매일 저녁 이벤트도 좋았으며 많은 친구들과 교루할수 있었다. 공용 샤워실과 화장실은 깨끗했으며 스태프들도 상당히 친절했다. 최근에 리뉴얼된듯한데 공용공간이 야외, 실내등에 있고 상당히 넓으며 쉬기 편했다.

내가 머문 방에서 와이파이가 잘 안잡혔다.

Ostello giovane, molto ben tenuto in posizione centrale. Scelta top tra i 20 e i 30 anni, ma anche con noi un po piu anzianotti lo staff e’ stato super, mi hanno anche aiutata ad organizzare una festicciola a sorpresa con tanto di pignatta messicana per i 40 anni del mio compagno. Magnifici. Stanze private simili ad un albergo. Colazioni ottime.

Non e’ colpa della struttura, quando c’eravamo noi erano presenti del lavori di ristrutturazione nell’edificio adiacente. Iniziavano a martellare alle 7 del martino. Ma sei in messico e i rumori ci sono un po ovunque.

Me gustaron mucho todas las instalaciones y servicios que ofrece el hotel para los huéspedes, especialmente los espacios exteriores y la gran variedad de actividades que organizan. Se agradece mucho que hagan tantas actividades para que los huéspedes puedan participar, relacionarse y conocerse. También destacaría especialmente la atención de Pepe, que fue excelente. Los precios del bar son muy buenos y tanto la cena como el desayuno son muy completos teniendo en cuenta el precio.

Nos alojamos en una habitación privada con baño privado. La habitación era pequeña, aunque correcta, pero la ventana daba directamente a una pared, por lo que apenas había ventilación. Había muchísima humedad, hasta el punto de que la ropa que dejábamos secando volvía a humedecerse. El baño estaba muy correcto, aunque durante dos días no funcionó el agua caliente. En general, la estancia fue muy buena, pero creo que la habitación, especialmente la ventilación y la humedad, son aspectos que podrían mejorar.

La cercanía con el centro de san cristobal, la amabilidad del staff

Están reformando el hostel y no tienen un aviso en Booking que avise que hacen ruido desde las 7 AM. El staff nos ofreció tapones pero no fue una solución adecuada ni empatica. La habitación no tiene cortinas, y no tiene nada de deluxe.

Calidad-precio, personal y atención.

Cuartos y baños compartidos, en cuanto a que no sabes con quien o que vayas a encontrar por descuidos ajenos.

The staff were very friendly. The meals were good. The social atmosphere was wonderful as was the location so close to downtown. I had a private room which was very nice. The entire hostel has filtered water you can drink, very important in San Cristobal.

The gym area was very dirty. There was often no gluten-free option for the meals.

El personal es muy amable, se interesan por saber cómo estas. Pudimos contratar los tours desde el hostal de forma fácil y tuvimos buena experiencia (cañon sumidero y palenque).

No estuvimos cómodos en nuestra habitación, es algo oscura y es cierto que muy húmeda, fría. Se oía mucho el ruido, por las noches hacen fiestas y es difícil descansar. Nosotros no repetiríamos, pero entiendo que si buscas ambiente y conocer gente puede ser una buena opción.

Great location, really social vibe but not too pushy, FANTASTIC value for money - a great happy hour, free drinks and classes on different days throughout the week. They also have free tea and coffee every day, and the water from the taps is safe to drink - which is a huge plus. The staff there were also super friendly… Pepe and Jorge deserve a particular shout out. Honestly one of our favourite hostels we’ve ever stayed in!

We stayed in a private room which was super quiet, but I think some of the shared rooms are between the two social areas which may have been a little louder, but you expect that from a hostel in my opinion.

Super hostel qui offre un service de demi-pension ! Pour 5€ / 100$ vous pouvez avoir petit-déjeuner et dîner ce qui est très pratique Personnel exceptionnel ! Ils m’ont toujours aidé et arrangé quand j’en avais besoin. Par exemple dès le soir où je suis arrivé à 23h alors que l’heure du repas était dépassée depuis bien longtemps, ils m’ont préparé / trouvé de quoi manger à l’auberge. Très appréciable. Fruits et café à disposition gratuitement le matin Les espaces communs sont très spacieux, très lumineux, sociaux Ils ont une salle de gym intégrale ! Ça c’est un vrai plus aussi pour ceux qui veulent garder la forme

La cuisine pour les guests est très rudimentaire, peu d’équipements, pas très propre. Clairement la meilleure option ici est de manger en demi-pension ou à l’extérieur mais ce n’est l’idéal pour se préparer ses propres repas Pas de wifi ou très peu dans les chambres, probablement dû à l’épaisseur des murs, pour certains ce sera peut-être un plus - si vous voulez faire quoi que ce soit en ligne il faudra rester dans le salon pour plus de rapidité

-the stuff is sometimes very nice but others are not. As an example they didnt want to give me food because they forgot to make a cross if i want veggie or meat (even if i paid already for it). Had to ask several times for the deposit to get it back. Couldnt let my backback there, i have to pay then for another night. -foodportions are very small

The staff were great! The food was delicious and cheap. It was nice to be able to hammock in the morning & enjoy some sunlight on the rooftop. The gym was a nice touch. The showers get hot!

Most things are outdated and need a revamp. The ping pong table is destroyed, the foosball doesn’t work properly. The beds rock like crazy & there was a terrible odor near my bed. The rooftop needs some more furniture so people can enjoy it. The staff deserve way more perks for how much they have to work. At least give them dinner included especially if they have to work it!

Posizione molto comoda, bella zona comune in ostello. Danno la possibilità di lasciare i bagagli il giorno del check in/out.

Le camere private sono molto molto molto umide. Non c’era finestra nella nostra ma neanche deumidificatore. Alcuni vestiti sono rimasti umidi tutto il soggiorno (4 giorni). Inoltre la luce nel corridoio non si spegne (non c’è l’interruttore) e filtrava molto dalla porta della camera.

Me gusto mucho la ubicación. De la habitación, la cama y la ducha estaban muy bien.

Estaba en un espacio a medio construir. La habitación estaba llena de humedad (la ropa se humedecia y las toallas no se secaban) y la ventana daba a otro espacio de obras. El ultimo dia aparecieron varios bichos y entre ellos una cucaracha gigante.

Sono molto combattuta… Cose positive: - la struttura centrale è carinissima. Ha delle bellissime vibes. Perfetta per rilassarti o per socializzare - Acqua, tè e caffè sempre disponibili - possibilità di organizzare tour e attività - buona posizione a meno di 10 minuti a piedi dal centro - reception h 24 (ma non tutti parlano inglese) Cosa non mi è piaciuto: avevamo preso la stanza privata che è fuori dalla struttura principale, ancora parzialmente in costruzione, - stanza UMIDISSIMA, puzzava di umidità e nonostante fosse nuova, c’erano già macchie di umidità - lavori in corso. Iniziavano a martellare alle 7 di mattina - 1 solo asciugamano a disposizione - non ci sono prese elettriche universali (ma ci hanno prestato un adattatore) - esperienza temazcal un po troppo forte. Sicuramente autentica e questo è un lato positivo ma avrei preferito una spiegazione iniziale un po più accurata visto che improvvisamente ti ritrovi chiusa dentro il temazcal con temperature veramente al limite senza sapere quanto ci dovrai rimanere

The vibe of the hostel, the wonderful terrace and common area, the very cheap and delicious breakfast (many options as well), the activities that were offered. The location was great as well. We ended up staying 4 extra nights cause we loved it.

When we arrived, the floor of our room was dirty but once I mentioned it to the staff they apologized and cleaned it immediately. Our room (the private) was a bit humid but other than that it was comfortable enough. More space to store and hang things would be great, especially in the bathroom.

Puerta Vieja ist ein tolles Hostel zum Wohlfühlen. Es werden täglich coole Aktivitäten angeboten und auch Ausflüge kann man über das Hostel buchen. Besonders toll war auch das inkludierte Essen morgens und abends. Richtig lecker und frisch gemacht! Sehr empfehlenswert. Ich fand die Aufenthaltsmöglichkeiten auch sehr ansprechend, besonders die Terrasse mit schönem Ausblick. Mein Privatzimmer war schön und neu, das Bett bequem. Ganz toll finde ich auch, dass das Leitungswasser durch das Hostel gefiltert wird und trinkbar ist! 👏🏼Das Personal des Hostels ist sehr lieb, offen und gut drauf! Liebe Grüße gehen an Felipe, der mich sehr lieb in Empfang genommen hat und mir viel geholfen hat! 😊

Das Privatzimmer braucht etwas mehr Ventilation und Seife in der Dusche / ein Föhn wäre wünschenswert, sonst alles super.

Great vibe and very helpful and friendly staff! The place is right in the center - so everything is within walking distance. It’s extremely convenient that you can book tours directly with the hostel including pickup at the reception.

Meals are great value and the staff are very kind. Love that they have a temascal there as well for a crazy good price, though I didn't get to do it. It's sort of party hostel vibes but not really? Was easy to meet people at the big tables, but was probably a bit young-leaning for what I was going for. No fault of the hostel though

הצוות היה ממש מקסים, חברותי, עוזר בכל מה שצריך. האירועים בהוסטל מגניבים עושים את האווירה ממש נעימה. יש ארוחות בוקר וערב במחיר דיי סימלי, הגודל בהתאם אבל זה בדרך כלל מספיק. היינו בחדר פרטי שהיה מעולה ומאוד נעים.

Tolle Lage und Unterkunft. Super Preisleistung. Leckeres Essen. Sauber, jeden Tag wurde mehrmals geputzt. Wasserspender sind verfügbar sowie Kaffee und Tee. Aktivitäten werden angeboten auch teilweise kostenlos (z.B. Salsa). Fitnessgeräte. Hängematte mit Aussicht.

Betten waren sehr wackelig, generell wenn man sich im Raum bereft, wackeln alle Betten. Waren in Zimmer 10, lag vielleicht am Anbau. Vorhänge sollten Blickdichter sein, bzw. Die oberen Betten hatten keine Vorhänge von der Decke bis runter. Wird von der Helligkeit geweckt. Duschen wurden nur kurz warm und dann wieder kälter.

Absolutely amazing hostel. The facilities and the beds are comfortable and clean and the staff is super friendly! I stayed for a few extra nights because I felt at home and that is very nice while traveling for a long time

Non ci sono parole per descrivere questa struttura! Abbiamo prenotato una camera queen e abbiamo trascorso i nostri tre giorni in modo meraviglioso, puoi cenare in ostello per pochi pesos (ed è veramente buono), colazione super e attività veramente fantastiche, puoi organizzare anche i tours! Consiglio vivamente il temazcal

Er waren bed bugs… ondanks dat ik gevraagd had bij het inchecken of men hier nog steeds last van had, omdat ik dit online had gelezen, werd dit ontkent. Bij mijn tweede nacht bleken ze er gewoon te zitten

Eines der besten Hostels, die ich je besucht habe! Am besten war das Essen, sowohl Frühstück als auch Dinner, und es ist schön das alle Bewohner dafür auf der Terrasse zusammenkommen. Es gibt total viel Programm und man wird hier keine Tag alleine sein, es ist zum Leute kennenlernen perfekt. Außerdem ist es sehr sauber, fast absurd, wie oft hier jeden Tag die Angestellten am sauber machen sind.

In unserem Zimmer hat das wlan leider nur sehr schlecht funktioniert. Außerdem ging die Lampe am Bett nicht. Bezüglich des Wlans haben andere jedoch bessere Erfahrungen gemacht.

Mein privates Zimmer mit eigenem Bad war schön eingerichtet und ruhig gelegen. Die privaten Zimmer sind getrennt vom Hauptgebäude in einem eigenen Haus. Sehr gute Lage im Zentrum.

Es gab leider viel zu viele Geschichten über Bettwanzen und das Personal hat abgestritten, dass es diese weiterhin gibt. Es soll vor allem der Dorm 5 betroffen sein und dies ein Problem seit mehreren Monaten sein. Ich würde nicht die Halbpension empfehlen. Das Abendessen war nicht lecker und die vegetarische Portion kleiner als die mit Fleisch. Das Frühstück war okay. Mein Raum war leider super kalt und als ich gefragt habe, ob die Klimaanlage abgeschaltet werden kann, wurde mir mitgeteilt, dass es keine gäbe. Trotzdem habe ich dauerhaft kalten Wind ins Zimmer geblasen bekommen von der „Lüftung“.

This is my second time staying here, and I’d come back in a heartbeat. The hostel is in a great location, the rooms are spacious, and the beds are comfortable. There are activities every day. It’s easy to meet people and make new friends.

I would recommend fixing the patio roof, since the chairs are always wet at dinner time and there’s nothing to dry them with. It’s essential to have a mop in the upstairs bathroom, because people don’t close the shower curtains and there’s almost always a "river".

The staff attention is top-notch; from the moment you arrive, they make you feel at home. The food is delicious and the portions are very generous.

El equipo son muy amables, desayuno muy rico, espacios bonitos y limpios, muchas actividades para los huespedes, muy buena experiencia.
