Ganesha Hotel

Me gustó mucho el hotel, la decoracion y el comfort, tiene una ubicación perfecta, estaba muy limpio y el personal muy agradable. Se lo recomiendo.

La habitación #4 muy encerrada. Pasé calor a pesar del clima.

Lovely room, nice communal spaces, felt very comfortable.

I tried a couple of times to get the shower fixed but it was always either too hot, too cold, or not running. In the end I gave up. Room was a little dark. Internet a bit slow but not for lack of trying they had three routers. The area was fine and central but some of the nicer places to eat were at least 15mins walk away not right on your doorstep and no restaurant so ended up walking a lot.

Bei der Ankunft erhielten wir knapp den Schlüssel in die Hand gedrückt, ansonsten keine weiteren Informationen, z.B. Wifi, dass die Aussentüre abends geschlossen sei etc. Die Bettwäsche hatte diverse Flecken, Sauce? Zierkissen vom Bett war zerfranzelt. Badzimmer Teppich war sehr schmudelig, war dieser überhaupt für die neuen Gäste ausgewechselt worden? Es ist unzumutbar das Wasser minutenlang fliesen zu lassen bis mal Warmwasser fliesst, und das in einem Land mit allgemeinen Wasswemangel. Wenn dann Warmwasser fliesst ist es so heiss, und man kann es nicht mit Kaltwasser mischen, weil die Anlage nicht funktioniert. In der Wasserflasche auf dem Tisch hatte es 2 Schluck Wasser, die wurde bei der Zimmer Vorbereitung für die neuen Gäste nicht aufgefüllt. Auch nicht an den Folgetagen. Dass die beiden Betten auf 2 Etagen sind ist unpraktisch. Die Wohnung im 1.OG ist nur über eine 60 cm schmale Stahltreppe zugänglich, das könnte bei einem Notfall, Brand, Erdbeben sehr gefährlich werden.

The staff made me feel at home the minute I checked in until the minute I checked out. I felt as if I were staying with family. I whole heartedly recommend Ganesha!

Can’t think of a thing

Close to the downtown area. Room was large and lovely, on two levels with the sleeping area up a short flight of stairs.

This hotel was amazing. Clean, comfortable and decorated to a high standard with a nice ambience. It's in the centre of San Cristobal and only a few minutes walk to the main square. Inside the hotel feels like a peaceful oasis. I loved the rooftop sitting area. The staff at the reception very nice and helpful. I arrived in San Cristobal early in the morning and they let me store the bags at the hotel until check-in. I really enjoyed my stay.

Property is fine. Room is a bit cold on the feet, but that’s mountain life, isn’t it? Bring warm socks!!!

I had issues from the moment I arrived after a ten hour journey 17.00 . NO HOT WATER , NO WIFI . I was informed the electrician didn’t come because of the weekend . I was told “I will switch on the water” and that during the day they have solar panels heating the water . DAY TWO , same issue with the water morning and evening , dribbles , between complaining and getting into a nervous wreck… some warm water but not enough to wash the hair . A wifi router appeared in the outside space . DAY THREE , receptionist and cleaner spent approx 45 min to try and sort out the water , at this stage I couldn’t flush the toilet . I was told the pipes were broken . Late afternoon , I try and have a shower . Ice cold water. The receptionist tried to run the water in the adjoining room which didn’t work either . I was told the water was fixed , I hopped into the shower and the dribbles stopped and I stood there with soap all over me . Again I called the girl bla bla la ONE hour later and still no shower . I complained to the manager or owner , to booking.com . This is NOT acceptable . If you can’t run a hotel properly it should be closed until the water situation is resolved.

internet doesnt work in the room itself. The price went up significantly on arrival. although I asked for no chemical cleaning products due to alergy ( which the property agreed to on booking)there was overpowering chemical covering the visible black mold. for this reason I did not find it comfortable

A localização. Bem próxima ao Zócalo. Os funcionários da recepção, sempre muito solícitos.

De não poder pagar meia diária e sair mais tarde. Parece q não havia mais ng para se hospedar no dia em que saí, mesmo assim não pude ter flexibilidade no check-out. Poderia ter cabides no armário. Também não gostei da pouca iluminação das ruas ao redor, mesmo a cidade sendo tranquila, não existe lugar tranquilo quando se é uma mulher viajante solo. Iluminação adequada ba cidade é importante, mas sei que isso não é responsabilidade da hospedagem.

Está muy bien ubicado a 2 minutos de la plaza principal de San Cristóbal de las Casas. El personal es muy amable y nos facilitaron todos los aspectos de nuestra estancia allí, permitiéndonos dejar el equipaje después de haber hecho el check out e incluso permitiendo que utilizáramos las duchas antes de nuestra partida. Nuestra cabaña tenía en la planta de abajo un pequeño salón con un sofá y un cuarto de baño con ducha todo muy limpio y con un secador de pelo. En el piso de arriba estaba la cama doble, un armario y una televisión. La cama es muy cómoda y se duerme perfectamente. La Wi-Fi funciona muy bien.

Las toallas no estaban limpias, tenían manchas. Las cortinas no opacifican y en cuanto amanece no hay nada de oscuridad en la habitación.

Small hotel in perfect location.

It was quiet and peaceful just what I needed before my transition to the next journey. The location was great, very central and close to everything I needed.

Clean and relatively cheap

Door was broken which was frustrating, WiFi didn’t work, was very noisy because it was on the Main Street and stuff was very unfriendly.

I absolutely loved staying at Ganesha hotel. My room was enormous. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was spacious. The facility is beautiful and very peaceful. The rooftop terrace has an amazing view.

There is nothing to dislike about this hotel.

I had a lovely stay at this small boutique guesthouse/hotel. The rooms were large, very clean, hot showers with good pressure, heating, comfy bed, quiet for sleeping, zen shared space and overall friendly staff. Location is a block off the main square and easy walking distance to nearly all. Value for quality was good. Thanks!

This charming little hotel offers very fair prices and boasts a super central location. I stayed in a two-level cabana with a cozy living area and bathroom on the lower floor, and a super comfy bed upstairs. I slept really well! The room included a small coffee machine and drinking water, which I greatly appreciated. The shower was excellent, with really hot water and solid water pressure. I enjoyed the hotel's pleasant common areas, including a rooftop and a semi-covered area with tables where you can even work, complete with available plugs. The staff was always friendly and easy-going. I was able to extend my stay without any issues and could store my luggage and use the common area before my night bus, which I highly appreciated!

There were a few minor downsides: a construction site behind my room caused some noise during the day, and there was a nearby karaoke party on Saturday night—though not the hotel's fault. Unfortunately, the WiFi was very weak, almost unusable with download speeds typically less than 1 Mbps. If you need reliable internet for remote work, this isn't the place for you, though this issue is fixable as nearby coffee shops have better WiFi. Another small issue was the bathroom mirror, which was mounted too low, making shaving a bit tricky but manageable. I'd book here again, but please invest in better WiFi!

Love the architecture and room

Exceptional location, has a wonderful terrace available to work or relax. Did not use the yoga room but I was told it was ready for use.

I paid a small sum of money and got a room change with windows opened towards the inside not the road which was much better. Very spacious and beautiful. Nice decoration. Good WIFI finally. Very nice and friendly staff. Excellent location. Nice dinning area but the hotel does not serve breakfast or meals. Maybe the area is for the guests or the owner to relax. Not sure.

The first room I was given was very noisy. The only safe window to open is in the toilet, which faces the road. It was very noisy. I chose not to open the other window that faces the inside because people who walk by can see you through it. My Apple products could not connect to the hotel WIFI only the Samsung products could. My apple products could connect to the WIFI at the reception area and the room right on top of the reception area (the Standard Queen Room). That's why I requested to switch to the Standard Queen Room at the end. Don't choose "Double Room with Private Bathroom"- noisy and no WIFI for Apple products. Choose "Standard Queen Room", which I changed to later. The staff finally let me switch room on the last day after my repeated requests but they charged me extra for that. It was a little bit frustrating. Stairs without fence at one side. A little bit dangerous. No staff at the reception area after 20:00 and the main door would be locked. You need a key to open the door yourself. Better arrive early for check-in.

I loved the atmosphere, it was so cosy, with an indoor garden and the rooftop looking for the city, utterly charming. The staff is wonderful, and the rooms are big and comfortable.

Just the little pressure from the shower and the natural light in interior rooms which is not very much.

Wi-Fi didn’t work. Tv didn’t work. Hot water was temperamental. Room was on a noisy street and very dimly lit. Upon departure the host tried to keep my deposit because they were missing a towel, I had to open up my suitcase to show them I didn’t have their towel for them to return my deposit.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and professional, ensuring daily room cleaning. The hotel radiates cleanliness with a charming, artistic, and spiritual ambiance. Its central location eliminates the need for taxis or buses. Billy, the owner, was delightful, offering helpful directions and city recommendations. I'm grateful for the early morning check-in, especially after a long trip to Chiapas. I eagerly anticipate staying there again in the future.

The hotel's main gate closed early each night, and although someone was available to open it upon request, it proved challenging at times. This became a significant issue when I had a 4 am tour, as no one was in the lobby to assist, nearly causing me to miss the tour. I recommend having staff attend to the door during all hours of closure in the future for improved convenience and security.

Room was huge with beautiful furnishings. Staff was helpful with transportation and the breakfast was very good too.

I loved the breakfast. They sale tours at a good price to different attractions that you shouldn’t miss. The laundry services was excellent. They don’t charge you per peace to wash, they charge per load and it was very cheap. My clothes smelled so good for days.👌

The staff was super helpful. Everyone at the hotel was so kind and assisted me in every way possible. They have a small restaurant in the hotel with breakfast which is included in the price. The Decour of the hotel is lovely and the room was beautifully appointed. Because of the kind attention from stuff I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Also, it is located in the historic area of the city and is only minutes away from everything you would want to see or need. I enjoyed my stay and the stuff also was very Attentive in cleaning and keeping my room. Neat during my stay of several days.

Desde que llegas, hasta que te retiras te tratan excelente todos sus empleados son excelentes personas siempre atentos por Si tienes alguna duda o requieres alguna recomendación tanto para ir a comer algún lugar o tomar algunos que están al rededor de la Ciudad san Cristobal de las casas. The price is a bit confusing as large rooms are the same as small rooms. I asked about monthly discounts and not much. I stayed another week because the staff was excellent at every level. Perfect 5☆

Excelente hotel, muy cerca del centro, tranquilo, trato amable, habitaciones grandes y cómodas. En una habitación se escucha algo de ruido de la calle por la noche. Limpieza de habitación buena pero en ocasiones nos dieron contadas las amenidades (jabón y shampoo) Ofrecen tours por sitios de interés a buen precio.

They did not give us the option for the late checkout (we had the bus at 23:00) even if we bought 2 tours through the hotel and even if the hotel was TOTALLY empty. They just kept our luggages until our departure. Noises from places next to until very late (2:00/3:00). No air condition.

This hotel is an absolute gem, one of the nicest places I've stayed at in a long time. Had the split level "Shakti Cabin." Made me think of a Swiss ski chalet, with some Indian thematic touches here and there. Big table, sofa, comfortable bed, nice bathroom with a strong shower. Lovely staff, decent breakfast (fruit, eggs, toast, coffee/ tea). Two blocks away from the central plaza, lots of great coffee shops and restaurants nearby.

The proximity to the central plaza means that, on some nights, you can hear the noise of whatever festivity is happening there. Not a criticism of the hotel since the noise will carry to anywhere in the centro, but something you might want to be aware of.

Such a wonderful Hotel! I was there as a female solo traveler as well as for work and I was taken care of so well. The rooms have a great design and atmosphere, my "casita" was very spacious (two floors), they are very clean, you have free coffee (which even gets refilled when it's empty ;)), a very good free breakfast, you can also get massages and take yoga classes. The management and staff is so supportive and kind and everyone tried their best to help me whenever I needed anything. I hopefully have to return to San Christobal soon and I am already looking forward to my next stay at Hotel Ganesha :)
