The Westmorland Inn

The accomodation was clean & in a very good location for the bus network,allowing us to travel anywhere on our passes. The housekeeper came daily as long as your sign was the right way around!!!!

There was nothing to dislike about the accomodation or the area,we had an amazing time after 25years away. I just realised i wasnt as fit as i thought.

We were there from Monday to Wednesday, but the restaurant didn't open until Thursday which was a shame

Bar man absolutely spot on, handy for both Windermere and Bowness.

Westmorland was excellent for location and very good on value for money definitely stay there again and the staff was very friendly.

Ruime kamer met 2 fijne luie stoelen. Er werd mee gedacht over het veilig stallen van onze fietsen.

Kamer aan de voorzijde met een drukke weg die erg veel lawaai maakt. Slapen met raam open kon niet. Binnen enorm gehorig. Je kan de mensen horen praten, kasten open doen en wc papier gebruiken. Handdoeken waren niet schoon.

Amazing location,but we did leave a day early due to noise as our windows were above bar entrance. The noise went on until 3 am, some mornings, and we were shattered so left , if you do stay ask for a back room.

Noise ,far too noisy, especially when people are drinking and smoking outside front ,could not keep window open and it was hot .

Stayed in the family room - very large with a comfortable bed and pull out sofa bed for my daughter.

To be expected - my room on the front of the property so very noisy all day and through the night with heavy traffic/lorries/buses passing - so to be aware if you are a light sleeper! Great central location though.

L’établissement accepte les chiens. Nous avions dans notre chambre (numéro 3), une odeur d’urine persistante sur la moquette malgré le nettoyage de la chambre à plusieurs reprises. Une chambre avec une telle odeur n’aurait selon nous jamais dû être attribuée. Cela a rendu notre séjour désagréable.

Our room (no1) needed updating. Shower was a pain with the pressure and the hot water took a while to come through. Hot & cold tap was hard to turn on & off. I think the rooms should have someone coming in to fill up tea/coffee, beds, towels etc. We never had anyone check on these whilst we was there

Very good location, as was accessible to the high street and lakes with the boats. Bed was comfortable and the room was spacious.

-Broken blind -Nail sticking out of the floor where the carpet had not been fitted down properly -Filthy towels- we asked for different ones on 4 different occasions, but both hand towels and bath towels were still marked so bad we had to go and buy our own. -Dirty in general in the bathroom.

Great location, room had everything you needed inside. Paid a great price if your willing to book early.

Room was hot with the sun on the windows all day. Understand that's not hotels fault. Loud traffic noise all nite if you got windows open so take ear plugs! Bathroom needs some maintenance doing but didn't effect our stay. Staff we came across didn't seem the most friendly.

Excellent location

The bedrooms and bathroom need upgraded asap, the bed was very small and uncomfortable. The shower was a trickle at best! Not even a fan in the room to keep you cool at night.

Location was near the lake cruise pier and close to restaurants and cafes

It was a bit dusty and the doors were very sticky and dirty

Great location. The restaurant below is great and had a wide GF and vegetarian selection. Our room at the back was very quiet, couldn't hear pub noise. Staff was super considerate on the England football match and gave us earplugs, and another room key if we wanted to go higher up

Check-in was a little difficult as pub incredibly busy when we turned up. Bedroom was a little small as had a humongous bed (which we loved having!)

It's old fashioned pub, good atmosphere.

There was no breakfast a evening meals in the week. Beer was good 🍺👍

Very small room, no shower pressure, vent above shower full of grime and dust. Unfortunately noise from the road was very loud.

The location was perfect. Bus stops right outside. Very regular to all surrounding areas and a 10 min walk down to the lake and pier arears

Only negative is id suggest the showers have some bath mats as was a bit slippy.

The hotel is a lovely quirky building, nice rooms, nice pub and restaurant downstairs. Good location just out of bowness centre.

We have stayed at this hotel before and was in a back room, we where in a front room this time and the noise from the main road was extremely loud at night. If we stay again we would ask for a room not on the main road.

Went to check in, ignored by bar staff who was more interested in his pal’s phone he needed to fix. Took my partner to go in for them to acknowledge us. No apology, laughed in our faces. No management to speak to, told us would be in touch to offer refund, still waiting. Absolutely avoid

It was right on the road leading to Windermere and on the bus route.

Shower needs new head and some water glasses, & something to put toothbrushes in would have been great. Hairdryer was terrible! But all very minor.

Felt overpriced , hairdryer was not good and then overheated and broke.

The size of the room. The additional seating in the room. They had provided an electric fan, which was useful as it was a hot evening.

Finding a discarded shirt down the back of one of the sofas - showing it had not been pulled out to be cleaned. This made me wonder if the rest of the room was as clean as we initially thought. Because the hotel was very central, it was also very noisy on an evening.

The hotel is well positioned the pub downstairs was very nice a friendly atmosphere. The bed was comfortable. Comfy bed and good clean linen and towels.

Our particular room, No1 was overlooking the busy road so noisy if the window was open. There were two second floor flats opposite and there windows looked straight into our bedroom so a bit of putting. The water pressure was very poor so showering was a bit of a pain.

The location to the town and amenities. Very handy for bus connections Helpful and friendly staff Restaurant: Staff- Vert attentive. Food: value for money, good portions Couldnt hear the noise from the downstairs bar whennin room directly above.

Nothing major. But personal taste would be to not having a full black painted bathroom. This is an old building and our room had a gentle slope which was disorientating.

The bedroom was spacious and cool in temperature and the bed was super comfy. Great location too.

it was close to both bowness and windermere itself, around 10 and 20 minute walks respectively. the staff were polite and very helpful, the rooms were exceptionally clean and beds very comfy. bonus points for having a fan in the room during the heatwave!! overall super pleased with this hotel, and for the price we booked it for; such good value for money!

the only small issue we found during our stay was that there was a small leak in the pipe of our shower which resulted in the water pressure being subpar, but still useable and you are more than able to get by!

Location was excellent. Parking is always an issue being so close to the town centre. Very clean, tidy and hospitable. Bed was really comfy. No noise. Key drop box and 11am checkout was perfect for a single night stay.

Decor and facilities are looking tired but work fine. Only one tea bag. Tv didn't work.

Right in the heart of Bowness, warm welcome and a nice view of the lake from our room. Little car park just down from the hotel. Bed was very comfy, there was tea and coffee provided and fresh towels. You get a front door key to come and go as you please. We walked up to Brantfell which had beautiful views.

I didn't know what to expect for the very reasonable price paid to booking.com, This was a very late booking. We arrived early, housekeeping greeted us with plenty of information and Janet was very helpful. This place has a very popular bar and was very friendly. The location is ideal with carpark a few yards down the road. Loads of restaurants to choose from and even a well stocked co-op just down the road. Breakfast was a stones throw from location. The rooms are fit for purpose a very comfortable Huge bed, with TV, Tea making facilities, excellent wi-fi. Bathroom very clean and has a decent shower. Approx 5 - 10 mins stroll to lake Windermere.

The weather could have been a bit better, but it is middle of May and it is England.

The location was great just a short walk to the lake, shops and restaurants. Friendly helpful staff
