Aloeron at Patatsfontein Stay

Marinke takes care that you find this hidden gem safely and we were in helpful contact befor our arrival. The breathtaking view is amazing. Standing under the outdoor shower with this view into the mountains is phenomenal! We enjoyed the wood fired Hot Tub during the sunset and this was really a romantic experience for our anniversary day! Everything you need is there. You only have to bring your food and don´t forget the drinks!

Everything was perfect for a Nature Getaway! Two Sun Loungers on the terrace would be nice, also a net for cleaning the surface of the water in the Hot Tub a little bit.

Eine tolle Unterkunft inmitten der Natur. Man fährt bereits vor Ankunft mehrere Minuten über einen Schotterweg und wird dann für die letzten Meter von den Gastgebern begleitet. Nach einer kurzen Einweisung vor Ort ist man dann für die Dauer des Aufenthalts komplett für sich alleine und gefühlt von der Außenwelt abgeschottet. Man hat einen tollen Blick über das Tal. Die Herausforderung den „natürlichen“ Whirlpool mit Feuerholz aufzuheizen hat uns gut gefallen und am Ende des Tages haben wir den Sternenhimmel aus dem warmen Wasser genossen. Die Kommunikation mit Marinke war hervorragend. Sie war sehr freundlich, hat uns proaktiv Informationen zukommen lassen und immer schnell geantwortet, wenn wir sie kontaktiert haben.

Love this place. They thought of everything and you can just bring your food and drinks. Bring your own ice as there is a large fridge and can not purchase on site. Further more it's a lovely neat and beautiful place. The tent is neat and everything is modern, even the cutlery is modern. We will definitely be back for a longer period

Remote lovely accommodation! Beautiful mountains. What a treat to be alone in the planet. Wonderful set up.

Enveronment very peaceful, very warm welcoming and freindly. We were greeted with a smile on your face. Thanks to Marinke everything that we needed was there.

Its not a major thing at all but not having a microwave and Iron was a bit of an inconvinience especially for my wife. Having said that its understable that due to the fact that one have to monitor power consumption and not to over load your grid. It made sense that some applience with elements are to be used with restrictions.

A real hidden gem to escape the city. Beautiful views and peaceful silence. Star gazing from the hot tub is a real hit. The tent was done up really nicely with everything you need.

The location is perfect to take a break, refreshing and relaxing. It was clean, attractive and comfortable.

The location was exceptional with great views

An amazing hidden location. It was filled with nature sounds and clean air. The accommodation was perfect and our hosts went above and beyond. We were able to book a little picnic basket and they were extremely accommodating and brilliant communication. The firewood hot tub and outdoor shower was an excellent touch to our stay.

More of a good to know: the roads are really rugged and difficult to drive, gravel and stones. We'd recommend not driving with a low/sports car.

Endless mountain views with mo other people in sight. Absolutely beautiful location. Accommodation clean, with everything you need. Bed was super comfortable!

The quiet and serenity from being in nature was amazing. The views of the valley and surrounding hills were breathtaking. The hot tub was warm on our arrival as requested and the chalet was spotless and superbly clean. Our host was very friendly and accommodating - quick to respond to requests and very helpful. This is great for a long weekend getaway just to replenish your battery. Would definitely recommend 10/10. For a self catering accommodation this place had it all, every utensil you might think about or be worried that you could have forgotten. Waking up in the morning to the birds chirping and the absolute quiet of the night was something we will never forget. This is on our must visit again list for sure!

One suggestion we had is just to add a blind or curtain in front of the section of the sliding doors that cover the fridge. Our first day there it was quite warm and the fridge had trouble keeping food items cold or freezing the ice we made.
