Mamba Yala

Consigliamo questa struttura meravigliosa a chiunque voglia vivere una vera autentica avventura nella natura. Un’oasi sperduta nel nulla, gestita da ragazzi davvero accoglienti e gentilissimi e disponibili. La struttura è composta da poche case sull’albero tutte curate nei minimi dettagli e con ognuna una piscina privata. Abbiamo cenato nella struttura in quanto essendo in una zona protetta la sera dopo un certo orario non si può uscire fuori dall’aerea circostante. La cena era davvero buonissima. Lo staff ci ha aiutato anche con la prenotazione del safari al parco nazionale, sono stati molto gentili. Per il safari ci è stata anche preparata una colazione al sacco. Questa struttura merita davvero di essere vissuta in quanto un’avventura. Il bagno esterno è stato poi una chicca e la piscina privata immersa nell nulla uno spettacolo.

Tolles Baumhaus, tolle Lage (ja liegt abseits aber das war uns bewusst) - und wirklich super nettes Personal und Leute, die uns auch alles gezeigt haben - Empfehlung wer auf Einsamkeit, Baumhaus und Jungel steht.

De rust, prachtige unieke locatie in de middle of nowhere. Heerlijk prive zwembad er bij waar je lekker kan ontspannen. Ook de medewerkers zijn heel aardig en zorgen goed voor je. We kregen zelfs lunch en diner.

Een tip is om ergens haakjes te maken om kleren op te hangen en in de kamer een spiegel zou fijn zijn.

Such an immersive experience. The most incredible and friendly staff. As a female solo traveller, I felt safe. Very private and relaxing. Close to Yala for safari.

Some of the sheets / towels were stained. But everything looked clean though.

Personale gentile e accogliente, ci hanno preparato un’ottima cena e il giorno dopo nonostante non avessimo organizzato il safari direttamente con l’hotel ci hanno preparato la colazione al sacco. Struttura stupenda completamente immersa nella natura, molto suggestiva. Consiglio di arrivare di giorno per godersi al meglio la vista dalla camera e la piscina privata.

Il bagno si trova completamente all’aperto ed è molto carino peccato però per la colonia di formiche presenti nel water

The treehouse was incredible, amazing architecture using natural resources. Super spacious with our own pool, rooftop balcony, outside bathroom. Lovely and quiet and the staff were super friendly, making dinner for us was a real treat. A unique experience that we’ve never experienced before.

Wow – this place was absolutely incredible! We only stayed for one night as we needed somewhere to stay before our early morning safari. We specifically chose it because of its convenient location near the main safari entrance, allowing us to sleep in for as long as possible before our pickup. What we didn't expect was just how special the accommodation itself would be. The property felt like a private oasis. The private pool was fantastic, the outdoor bathroom was such a unique touch, and the spacious bed and beautiful wooden interior created a relaxing and luxurious atmosphere. Every detail made the stay feel truly exceptional. The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming. One of the highlights was seeing the various animals roaming around the property – they were all adorable and added even more charm to the experience. Unfortunately, we arrived after having dinner elsewhere, so we didn't get the chance to try dinner at Mamba Yala. However, breakfast more than made up for it! We were served a delicious curry with roti, plenty of fresh fruit, and other tasty accompaniments. Since our safari finished later in the morning, the hosts were happy to serve breakfast afterwards, which made us feel very well looked after. Overall, this was a superb experience and one of the most memorable places we stayed during our trip. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Yala, whether you're heading on safari or simply looking for a unique and beautiful place to stay.

Logement attypique : genre chalet sur pilotis avec point de vue dans les arbres, douche en extérieure et une petite piscine privée devant. Le personnel est aux petits soins, les excellents repas servis étaient variés en cuisine locale. Expérience à vivre.

Sa situation excentrée et difficile d'accès pour une berline. Mais possibilité de demander au proprio une prise en charge avec son 4x4.

Location and look as well as staff

WiFi did not work, they did not know we are going to arrive for the night so had to wait for wood and room for an hour

Excellent stay, beautiful location, stunning treehouses, the staff are like family. The food is out of this world, ever so tasty and natural. Would highly recommend to anyone. Very natural stay, friendly cats and dogs in the main house bit. Just all around lovely experience, and fabulous for couples.

We had a great stay here and were even given a free upgrade, which was a really nice surprise. The location was amazing, right on the edge of the national park, so it felt very peaceful and surrounded by nature and birdlife. The home-cooked food was also a highlight.

There wasn’t really anything we didn’t like during our stay. Overall everything was very comfortable and relaxed.

Fantastic tree house in a calm secluded location. The staff were so nice and attentive. Food was great and cooked on an open wood fire. A real jungle experience and so close to Yala National Park. Would thoroughly recommend for a unique experience.

Fuldstændig fantastisk sted at bo, husene er utroligt godt lavet med udsigtsplatform i trækronerne og en skøn privat pool. Bedst af alt er dog personalet, de tre gutter laver virkelig god mad og bossen Sampath vil gøre alt for du har det bedste ophold. Man kan sagtens vente med at booke safari, Sampaths ven Agi har en fin safari til Yala

Great location , lovely accommodation and Mr Sampath was wonderful, he cooked a beautiful Sri lankan curry for supper and arranged Taxis and The jeep safari to Yala and ..we got an upgrade to a treehouse with a pool..xx

Everything was so chilled , the food was amazing and the dogs 🐕 where great , Simpat was amazing he got us our car when we left at a good rate ,his food was the best authentic cooking and chat his was great!

The location is fantastic and feels like a proper escape from the city. The resident dogs are lovely, and we almost adopted them. Having dinner included was a pleasant surprise.

The photos of the accommodation do not give a proper indication of what to expect. We booked a 'Deluxe Double Room with Balcony' and found ourselves staying in a treehouse (lovely views), but with a horrible stairway, leaking roof, and a bed that was at a slant. The staff seemed quite embarrassed by the state of this treehouse room.

Echt een prachtige locatie, weg van alles en iedereen. Een hele vriendelijke gastheer voor wie niks teveel was. Er werd 2 avonden heerlijk voor ons gekookt. De boomhut is ruim en een echt uniek verblijf.

Het is echt back to basic dus ook de douche heeft geen warm water, dit is 's avonds toch een beetje koud.

Questa struttura è costruita davvero in modo incredibile: le stanze tutte in legno sono state costruite attorno (o sopra) gli alberi in maniera davvero eccellente. Eravamo nella stanza Queen con la piscinetta per rinfrescarsi. Splendido il bagno e doccia a a cielo aperto e spettacolare il terrazzo sull’albero. Indimenticabile. I ragazzi molto gentili, ci hanno preparato cena e anche chiesto se volevamo qualcosa da bere a orario aperitivo.

Lo staff non parla inglese quindi la comunicazione è stata difficile. In qualche modo siamo riusciti a cavarcela ma decisamente non facile. È necessario che la struttura inizi a offrire pick-up e drop-off con una jeep, oppure fornire più info su come arrivare: il nostro driver ha rotto l’auto cercando di andare sulle strade dissestate. Nella stanza - per andare in bagno non c’è il corrimano nella scala quindi può essere un po’ pericoloso. Comunque 9/10 raccomandatissima!

Starting with Sampat's service ending with remoteness and the awesome feel of being in the middle of the jungle, makes for one of a kind experience!

La tranquilidad, lo cerca del parque Yala. El chico que lleva el hotel es una bellísima persona, siempre sonriendo y dispuesto a ayudar.

El baño está fuera de la cabaña y el día que llueva, seguramente te mojarás.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour ! Les personnes sont très accueillantes, chaleureuses et serviables, ce qui rend l’expérience encore plus agréable. Le petit déjeuner est excellent, copieux et varié. L’endroit est propre et les cabanes, perdues au milieu de nulle part, offrent un véritable dépaysement et un retour à la nature. En plus, c’est situé juste à côté du parc national de Yala : on peut y voir de nombreux animaux et même les entendre la nuit, ce qui rend l’expérience encore plus unique.

Petit bémol toutefois : la route pour y accéder est en très mauvais état. Il est préférable de posséder une jeep, ou bien de demander à l’hôtel d’organiser votre transfert à l’avance.

Mamba Yala was one of the most spectacular and unforgettable stays of my trip. The location, right in the middle of the jungle, is absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to the sounds of nature and being surrounded by wildlife made the experience truly special. The accommodation itself was stunning: a beautiful treehouse-style cabana with a private pool, an open-air bathroom, and a panoramic terrace on top of the treehouse – perfect for relaxing, stargazing, or just enjoying the jungle views. The staff went above and beyond and even prepared a spectacular dinner for us at their own expense, making the stay truly memorable. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring everything was perfect throughout the stay. If you’re looking for a unique and peaceful escape in Yala, this is definitely the place to be. Nothing at all – everything exceeded expectations

Incredible to stay in a ‘tree house’ type cabina with a view over Yala! The staff made us very welcome. You need to ask them to collect you in a jeep from the main road. The accommodation was comfortable and very different. Be fit enough to climb the stairs! They cooked us an excellent dinner and breakfast. Would stay again for absolute novelty value!

They only took cash. Be nice to have bedside tables and somewhere to put your suitcase. The air con goes off at 11pm to save electricity but the fan was good. Walking along an elevated bridge to the outside toilet felt a bit scary. Simple rails would help.

Gran experiència de dormir en una caseta de fusta al mig de la natura, tranquil•litat absoluta. Personal molt amable, ens van preparar esmorzar i sopar boníssims. També ens van organitzar un safari amb l'Agi, un gran guia que va estar molt atent per ensenyar-nos tots els animals possibles.

Ens va agradar tot. S'ha de tenir en compte que és al mig de la natura i s'hi poden trobar diferents insectes, granotes...

Mooie plek midden in de Jungle. De hutjes met zwembad zijn leuk opgezet. De badkamer is buiten wat een leuke jungle ervaring is. Personeel doet erg hun best en zetten lekkere maaltijden neer.

Het zwembad is gevoegt met een voegmiddel dat afgeeft, dat is niet goed. Je kunt niet met kaart betalen dus neem genoeg cash mee.

EVERYTHING!!!! We LOVED Mamba Yala, sleeping there was the most exciting experience we had in our entire trip to Sri Lanka. The hotel is right in the middle of the jungle…. You can hear all animals during the night while feeling safe in your cabin. And the views from the viewpoint…. Stunning!! The host was the best, he gave us the pool cabin even though we had booked a simpler one because it wasn’t booked that night. So so nice!!!! It made our trip perfect :) The food was also fabulous, they even woke up at 3:45am to prepare a take-away breakfast for us so that we could bring it to the safari. I could not recommend more this place!!!!!!! MAMBA YALA IS THE BEST STAY IN SRI LANKA!!!!

Une cabane dans les arbres, quoi de mieux pour se préparer à un safari ? Les hôtes sont très gentils et serviables. Nous sommes arrivées très tardivement et ils ont été parfaits. Merci pour ce beau moment et surtout l'excellent petit déjeuner à emporter le lendemainm matin.

Un peu cher, on paie l'idée et le concept

Nous avons adoré l'emplacement dans la forêt. Le côté très exotique des cabanes dans les arbres. La gentillesse de notre hôte qui a tout fait pour rendre notre séjour très agréable. La nourriture était délicieuse. Nous avons organisé notre safari dans 'et parc avec l' hôtel. C'était génial. Notre guide chauffeur Agee a été au top et à tout fait pour qu'on puisse voir le légendaire léopard.

We loved the experience of being in a very comfortable room amongst the trees. The quiet location & staff were just so helpful. Very clean & air conditioning quiet. Food was fabulous!

I am a bit older & needed to be careful as no handrails up stairs but staff helped with luggage so good challenge.

We loved our stay here! It's a beautiful treehouse cabin surrounded by trees and nature, it's so remote all you can hear is the noises of the jungle. The outdoor bathroom is really well designed (careful going in the dark though, there's no handrails!) and really nice to be so close to nature, plus the private pool is a very welcome bonus after a hot day on safari! The food is the best we had in Sri Lanka, a really delicious lunch/dinner that's included in the price. They were very accommodating and packed us a breakfast at 4.30 for our safari plus drove us to the ATM in the morning (you do need to take cash!)

Communication was tricky. The staff are polite but hardly speak any English and given the remote location you're pretty dependent on them for meals/transport/water etc, so this was a bit of a challenge! Also there's no official 'front desk', it seems to still be under construction, so you can't always find anyone. It was one of the most expensive places we stayed in Sri Lanka so it was a bit surprising that the customer service was quite far below what we'd received elsewhere. It would be better if they had a WhatsApp number to communicate through. Also bear in mind that the road is a nightmare - it's far too uneven for even cars to go down, let alone tuk tuks, so try to see if you can get them to pick you up/drop you off at the end of the dirt road in their van!

Amazing place best of Sri Lanka. Top staff, super friendly, they gave us a delicious dinner. The experience of once in a life time. The luxury tree house was perfect.

Nature and a lot of it. If you love frogs, bats, lizards, birds and bugs you’ll have a ball. Bed was excellent, huge and comfortable, big nice room and very clean. Had a fridge and safe but nothing else, no kettle, nowhere to put bags or hang up a towel. Great aircon, nice little private pool.

You are fully reliant on them for all food, which can get a bit irritating as you’re not sure when they’ll bring it to your cabin and what it will be like (breakfast was not good. Dinner and lunch were great if you enjoy garlic and onions and very salty food). If you ask for dinner at 7pm don’t be surprised if it turns up an hour late, as there’s no dining area, it’s a small desk on your private deck. Seen some reviews that say food not included in price, that wasn’t our experience. Good if they could clarify this. What definitely is not included is water. That felt pretty high-handed at these prices, and it’s not like you can pop to a shop. The staff don’t speak much English, there are no curtains (pro if you like waking up at sunrise) so not heaps of reliable privacy. The toilet and shower are fully outdoors and are rustic to say the least. You walk to it on a rickety platform, no hot water. Wifi is garbage, but was impressed that there was any at all.

No free dinners like many of the other reviews mentioned, everything was charged but the breakfast which was the only thing mentioned as included. Also 4x4 vehicle is needed to reach the property.

Extremely difficult to get to. Don't go if you have a TukTuk!

Everything is brand new and immaculately clean. Beds are comfortable and the setting is beautiful however the hosts made the experience. They cooked us the most delicious authentic Sri Lankan food, and provided everything we needed including bottled water. We were even greeted with a fruit platter as we arrived. I was a little under the weather when I arrived and the hosts even brought me some herbal tea to help my throat which was very thoughtful. We were shocked that we were not charged for any of this upon check out and it was included in the price, amazing value for money and hospitality.

Not so much a negative, but it was a little difficult for our driver to find, and the roads are very bumpy and not suitable for some vehicles, however the onwards came and picked us up so it wasn't a problem. They even dropped us to the bus station on the last day of our stay.

We had such a nice stay! The staff was soo friendly and carring. They organized our safarie and made the best lush package we could imaging. Also the dinner and the fruitplates were so good! The view from the treehouse and also the lovely animals made our stay perfect.

Amazing experience for a night. Hard to find so contact owners prior to arrange a pick up. Book the better rooms with small pool for best experience. They gave a free evening meal which was the best curry I've had, and a lift back to town in the morning. Only negative was a slight noise from the generator in the evening as it is off grid.

Unique experience for one night, attentive staff (felt like we had our own butler)! They cooked us 2 special meals and didn’t charge us, a fabulous stay, would recommend to anyone wanting something different when staying at Yala for a great price. We had the room with the pool and would say it was a bonus in the heat.

The outside toilet was a challenge in the night, something to bear in mind.

- True jungle experience. - You get to stay in a high tree house in the middle of nowhere. - Dinner was provided for free. - Very good breakfast. - Both meals were brought up to the tree house for no additional charge - Beautiful spot for watching sunset and sunrise - A lot of beautiful birds around (a lot of parrots) - My friend was having stomach problems and they were very friendly and helpful by providing us some natural remedies. I would definitely recommend staying more than one day.

- If you book Eagle nest tree house you do not get to use the swimming pool - The road to accommodation is very bumpy so be careful if driving on your own (we were driving a tuktuk and it was an adrenaline adventure) Not a bad thing but keep in mind this is a treehouse in the middle of the forest so expect visitors such as frogs, ants and some other lovely bugs. Also when the wind blows the treehouse moves a bit. For us this was a part of the amazing experience.

Really cool experience to sleep from a tree house. No noises, only nature! We were offered with dinner (best rice and curry in Sri Lanka!) and free of charge. There was also breakfast included and they gave us free water too. Bed was very comfortable and staff very helpful and nice. Sunset from the tree house was incredible! Would really recommend everyone that wants to have a unique jungle experience to book this place!

Only thing we can say is that it was a bit difficult to get there. They are not in google maps but manager was very helpful and guided us!

We had a fantastic stay and felt very comfortable throughout our visit. The journey to the accommodation is quite an adventure, as it is located almost inside the national park. Just before arriving, where we were picked up at the end of the paved road, we even encountered a wild elephant. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful. They took care of organizing our safari, including a breakfast package. We arrived after 7 PM and were still a bit hungry, and they generously prepared one of the best and most diverse meals of our entire trip at around 8:30 PM—free of charge. We were also welcomed with a delicious drink upon arrival. The open-air bathroom was beautifully designed, adding to the unique experience. If you enjoy adventure, this place offers incredible value for money. We would definitely return and will be recommending it to our friends!

When we found it it was great. A what three words would have helped. Tricky drive to get there but our little Honda coped. The accommodation was splendid. Watching glow worms in the trees. While in the pool with a beer while thunder and lighting lit the sky was a great memory. Food was great and the staff helpful and thoughtful

A light outside on the way to the bathroom with perhaps some hand rails would be good. It was rather slippy after the rain. But it’s not a problem just a suggestion

Me and my wife stayed at Mamba Ayala campsite in this beautiful treehouse with the private pool. It was like a hidden gem 💎 in Yala. We were welcomed so nicely and the food was delicious. The crew of the property was very polite and friendly and we had one of our best two nights in this property. The owner was also very prompt in helping with what we needed. The tree house experience and the relaxing atmosphere is beyond our expectations. Highly recommended 🙌

We had a great stay at Mamba Yala and were so lucky to be among the first guests. It was a one of a kind experience in a treehouse in the jungle. The views are beautiful from the treehouse especially at sunset and the night stars are a special sight. It is perfectly situated for safari at Yala National Park. The staff were wonderful and couldn’t have done more for us. We look forward to returning when we are next in Sri Lanka.
