Excellent hotel. Very comfortable and clean. Friendly and helpful staff and a great location for taking in the sights of Carlisle and also sampling the nearby bars and restaurants.

We had the townhouse apartment which was spacious, clean and had nice touches such as milk, water, jam and crumpets supplied for breakfast.

Parking should be included in cost

As a two bed apartment, it was a very good size. Had everything we needed.

Hands down one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in! Rooms were perfect and had everything I needed, including a dyson fan for the hot weather. Special gifts were delightful and staff were wonderful. I dined at both the attached restaurant and cafe, and both were exceptionally good.

The staff were fantastic and it was obviios they loved working there. The sunday lunch was to die for. Our dog was made to feel very welcome. The rooms are amazing.. every detail thought of. 100nper cent would recommemd

This particular apartment was much bigger, cleaner and generally better equipped than others we’ve stayed in. I was impressed with all of it tbh.

The dressing table was in an area with zero natural light, and the utility cupboard in the bedroom would have been better served as a wardrobe

The room was lovely.

I thought we’d booked an apartment but were allocated a double room nearby. Check in was 3:00 pm, which was when we arrived. The room wasn’t ready until after 4:00 pm. We were given a complimentary drink but the tardiness was a bad start. The first floor room was very nice but the water pressure was poor so the impressive shower didn’t live up to expectations. Waiting in reception for 15 minutes while the receptionist took a phone booking was frustrating. Overall, not good enough for what is aimed at a high end stay.

Lovely room friendly helpful staff. Never went into the restaurant as we were in the apartment annexe. If we stay again we would like to very in the hotel and eat in there

The bath would have been more comfortable if it had been a little bigger

The Halston serviced apartment was perfect for our family stay. There were lots of small details that made all the difference, like the local breakfast essentials and dog essentials. Beds and bedding were super comfortable and the atmosphere as well as the stuff were great! We will definitely come back!

The apartment was amazing. Beds great, lounge great, bathrooms great. The food at the Aparthotel’s restaurant was good. The location is pretty central making it easy to see the city. Parking was secure and next to the hotel. The cost of the parking was discounted at reception. Overall - great stay.

The location and apartment were lovely. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Sadly there was no air conditioning and the bedrooms were very warm even with fans. The beds were standard doubles so this made everything hotter.

Room was far too warm and when you opened windows it was noisy. Which you expect. Also the room we were in the air conditioning unit was just below. The room does need aircon when we stayed it was only 18c don’t want to know what it would be if temperature was higher

We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was spacious with a large bathroom and walk in shower as well as kitchen seating area and table. This was perfect after a long day of travel woth 2 children and a dog. They also provided bowls for our dog as well as some treats and poo bags which was a lovely addition. The hotel food was also lovely.

Unfortunately we were unable to sleep due to the heat in the rooms. For reference, it was 14 degrees outside and 32 degrees in our apartment. The bedroom without a window was the worst. We were provided with extra Dyson fans but we were unable to sleep and our dog spent much of the night panting. Our daughter has type 1 diabetes which is also impacted by the heat so this added an extra level of stress to our stay. When asking about air con, we were told the owners wouldn't fit this as it's not hot enough for the majority of the year. However, given the disparity in temperatures on a fairly cool day it seems there are some significant air flow issues within the hotel. We were told our concerns would be passed to the manager and to expect a call but this is also yet to happen. The staff seemed that issues raised such as this are the norm. Very disappointing.

Fabulous room and provided good coffee pods and milk and crumpets. Bespoke soaps etc too nice touches.

Nice decor, lovely open space with everything you’d need to self cater if needed - muffins, jam etc. very nice touch.

Very warm - fans provided were very noisy & dusty. Earplugs were provided but we were woken with the sun streaming in first thing due to inadequate blinds (a black out blind is essential). Had we not already been awake, the noise of the glass bins being emptied would certainly have done the trick!! The receptionist asked about our stay - I told her we were leaving tired & unrested to which she just apologised. Appreciate it’s an older property but would definitely improve with secondary double glazing…Won’t stay again.

Friendly, helpful staff. Thoughtful extras in room (we had a dog in one of our rooms, mat, blanket, treats and poo-bag laid out ready). Comfortable beds, plenty of storage.

Nothing serious at all but note for the hotel: Carpark next to hotel awkward to find and access even though it was literally behind the hotel. The directions given were confusing, compounded by the street signs giving conflicting information! All it needs is a very simple map and description.

A big room but only a standard double bed, which felt too small for us as a couple and the room could have taken a king

The Apartment was spacious and modern. Good quality linens and towels. The shower unit was spacious a good flow. The kitchen had all that was needed and more - all modern and good quality with crumpets, jam, milk and both sparkling and stilll water. Large TV plus smaller tv in each bedroom. Very comfortable stay. The private car parking (£12 daily,) was quite expensive but very close to the hotel.

The Glass Sided Elevator was very Scary as the sheer drop visible on 4 sides before it reached the floor our Apartment was on was huge. Also it rose VERY slowly leaving lots of time to panic. Others didn't seem to mind.

A beautiful building and interior. Our apartment was superb. Spacious, clean, and beautiful. The gym looked awesome but as we were there for an ultramarathon didn’t get chance to use it.

Central location

Unfortunately the layout of the hotel means that the very noisy bar is directly under a lot of rooms on the first floor. Certain reception staff were rude and uninterested to deal with any complaints. Not worth the money.

The breakfast was wonderful and the apartment was great, but access could of been a little bit better.

Access to the apartment could of been a little better for people with disabilities.

This place is amazing, great location, beautifully appointed, spacious and clean. 2 bathrooms was a bonus as was the complimentary crumpets & jam. Wish we had more time there, highly recommended.

plenty of space, generous tea and coffee provisions and lovely local crumpets, jam and butter for a little snack. Freindlt staff and a nice on site restaurant - b'fast and dinner both lovely! They also kindly offered to store a couple of small bags while we were doing the Coast to Coast walk

My onkly ask would be to have beds made with a top sheet, as the quilt/doon was too hot and we needed to take it out to use the cover as a sheet.

The fact that you have to pay for parking. .For the cost of 2 night stay.i would have expected gowns and slippers as standard..Little things such as no tissues.

The accommodation was first class. Spotlessly clean, excellent facilities and some nice free extras provided like shower gel and shampoo and crumpets, butter and jam as well as bottled water. Beds were super comfy with top class bedding, towels were so soft and again top class. Staff were excellent, so friendly and helpful. We used the restaurant and the meal was excellent 👌 😋. We were so impressed we will visit again as we loved it.

Prefer a walk in showers, but that's just personal.

Everything! All the staff were friendly. The apartment was beautiful, bed comfortable. Our fish dish in the restaurant was excellent. Space at breakfast was created for us to accommodate a disabled family member to visit and make her visit comfortable and accessible. Thank you.

It was a nice combination of a hotel environment and the space of an independent apartment. The restaurant food at Penny Blue was really nice and the service was perfect.

I thought that the reception area was a little dark. We were glad of the lift but it was a bit confusing to operate.

Noise from bars

Lovely hotel great staff and great food and good central location

We didn't book breakfast but they had left fruit, crumpets with butter and jam, which was more than ample. We also had fresh milk for tea and coffee. The apartment was lovely, great size, clean and the facilities were excellent. Highly recommend.

Dk if it was a fan but something in the bathroom was loud. Front desk asked if I needed help with my luggage (2 carry ons, 1 small backpack). Said that would be great. Then she rolled it 6 feet from front desk. Had to hold elevator door open and drag luggage in then carry them down 5 steps once I got onto my floor

Upgraded apartment on arrival which was fantastic. Apartment so large, great space, very comfortable with everything you could need. Lovely touch of milk and crumpets on arrival with jam and butter. Fantastic.

Bed was a bit firmer than we are used to but you cant please everyone.

The staff were friendly throughout our stay from entering the building to leaving. The rooms were clean & tidy for us arriving with everything we needed. We like the added touches of complimentary items in the kitchen. The location was also great for the city centre shops and restaurants.

Being based in the city centre did have a downside on the weekend nights, with rather loud music from nearby clubs playing well into the night and early hours. Parking is also quite expensive in the area, but is a price to be expected for a busy city centre.

We loved everything about our stay. We asked at reception why the hotel is not 5 star and it’s because there is no spa. But it deserves 5 star. Location was fab and the apartments are spacious with everything you need.

Location near the station We had a delightful dinner, and the hotel exceeded our expectations. The facility was well-maintained, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Plus, the convenient location near the station made our stay even better.( all good)

Well kept hotel in a great location. Always a pleasure to stay here. Short walk to lots of restaurants and the train station. Best option in Carlisle.

No parking. The public car park is close by though.
