LAMIACEAE WOOD CABIN

The stay was great and the hosts were very welcoming. They make a wonderful breakfast every morning. The room was very, very clean and the view was just amazing. Keep in mind that it's not very close to Ella for a walk but if you need relaxation - this is just the right place for you! And you can always take a tuk-tuk to go to the town.

Wir hatten das Familienzimmer mit Gartenblick! Es war mit Abstand die beste Unterkunft während unserer 3-wöchigen Reise durch Sri Lanka! Das Zimmer war sehr schön eingerichtet und sehr sauber! Der Blick vom Balkon war wunderschön! Das Frühstück wurde jeden Morgen frisch zubereitet und war sehr reichhaltig! Wir wurden auch immer nach unseren Wünschen gefragt! Der Angestellte im Haus war sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Die Unterkunft ist etwas außerhalb von Ella, was wir als sehr positiv empfanden, da wir dort Ruhe hatten! (3 Minuten Fahrt mit dem TukTuk)

L hôtel a une terrasse qui donne sur la forêt et c est magique. L endroit correspond aux photos et a le cachet d une cabane dans les arbres. Les lits étaient très bons. Le petit déjeuner était très bon et pantagruélique avec vue sur la forêt également. Dans l hôtel juste à côté, il y a un très bon restaurant ou on mange très très bien pour un prix très correct. Vous pouvez laver votre linge pour un prix raisonnable et comme l hôtel est a 5 min de la ville en tuk tuk, ils se mettent en 4 pour vous y déposer pour un prix également très raisonnable. Le personnel est très attentionné et très gentil.

Tout était parfait mais nous aurions éventuellement apprécié moins de nourriture au petit déjeuner et avoir un jus de fruit frais L arrivée est très sportive car il faut descendre le long de la montagne pour y arriver et il y a des travaux sur la façade côté montagne mais on oublie tout ça quand on est dans la chambre avec la vue

Arredamento veramente rustico ma curato nei dettagli. Il signore che gestisce è adorabile . La vista dalla terrazza è meravigliosa sia di giorno che di notte . Si dorme con i suoni della giungla. Le vetrate della stanza sono panoramiche .

La mancanza di aria condizionata. La stanza di giorno era molto calda .

We loved the room we were in it was sooo cute ! The staff was soooo lovely and accommodating. Location was lit too bad, we just rented a Tuktuk which made it so easy to get round.

The hills to get down there and up was brutal

Holzstyle war schön. Frühstück war super. Gastgeber war sehr freundlich.

Es war eine Blechhütte. Dach mit Klebeband geklebt. Bad hatte keine Fliesen, nach dem Duschen stand das ganze Bad unter Wasser. Sehr Abseits. Mit dem Auto nicht zu erreichen. Keine Straßengabe.

- super unique place!! place which is entirely made of wood and made was beautifully - amazing craft, I want to have bed made like this in my own home - breathtaking view from your room, and breakfast area - it’s very quiet so you can enjoy the views and watch nature / birds - breakfast was next level, plentiful and made with such care , delicious - very sweet host who really takes care of you

- the location is a bit out of the way to center of Ella so you always need tuk tuk. Unfortunately tuk tuks in Ella are quite expensive in compared to other cities - not property related but be aware somewhere nearby, every night monks are doing their chants at 5 AM for an hour and it’s super loud so you can’t sleep

Wir wurden unglaublich herzlich empfangen und versorgt. Das Frühstück war der absolute Wahnsinn!! :) Das Zimmer entsprach den Bildern und war geräumig und einladend. Aus dem Bett hatte man einen fantastischen Ausblick, was vor allem abends und morgens wunderschön war. Die Umgebung war ruhig und friedlich. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

Ein paar mehr Haken und Ablageflächen wären schön. Und es wäre super, wenn in der Unterkunft ein paar Basics (wie Wasser und ggf. kleine Snacks) verkauft werden würden, da in der Umgebung nichts zu bekommen ist.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr gut ausgestattet und der Besitzer sehr hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind sehr bequem, es gibt warmes Wasser und einen tolle Ausblick.

Die Lage ist sehr ruhig und etwas abseits der Stadt, was uns aber sehr gut gefallen hat, da der Ausblick in die Berge einfach toll war. Man ist auch in 10 min mit dem Tuk Tuk in der Stadt ist.

Des cabanes perchées sur les flancs de la jungle, l’ambiance magique, très propre, et une vue canon de la terrasse où nous avons eu un petit déjeuner des plus copieux et bon parmi ceux goûtés au Sri Lanka. L’accueil était au top, petit bémol sur la sonorité des voisins du dessus mais ça n’a pas gêné longtemps. Par contre les bruits des animaux et les chants des moines boudhistes ont enchantés nos couchers et matinées. Je recommande fortement !

Very private with an incredible patio for birdwatching. Surrounded by windows made it feel like we were immersed in the forest. Hot shower! We loved this place & even stayed an extra night.

Ich habe in den anderen Bewertungen gelesen dass man sein Gepäck selber von der Straße zum Hotel tragen muss. Das war bei uns nicht der Fall, es wurde mit einem Tuktuk für uns transportiert

Alles! Es war die bisher beste und schönste Unterkunft nach drei Wochen Sri Lanka. Sie war super ausgestattet, Wasserkocher, Gläser, Becher, Zucker und Kühlschrank. Sauberes Bettzeug und bequemes Bett. Die Aussicht ist wunderschön und der Mann der sie betreut ist super freundlich und immer hilfsbereit.

It was out of the bustling area of Ella. Only a 15 minute walk into town. You could catch the local bus. The place was clean and Sangriv was so welcoming. The breakfast was great. It is best to walk 200m downhill as tuk tuks can’t access it easily. The room was well equipped the sunset was absolutely incredible.

Nothing, apart from if you stay mid week there is a lot of billing building work. It didn’t bother us. Also the call to prayer is at 4am; again it was fine.

El treballador és encantador. Preparat sempre pel que necessitéssim, i sempre volent ajudar (a demanar tuk tuk per anar al centre, per fer un cafè…). I l’esmorzar super abundant i boníssim.

Em sap greu posar notes negatives pel treballador, però com a pega: - Mal aïllament del soroll. Se sent absolutament tot: la gent de l’allotjament del costat quan entra, si estan a la terrassa també, els vehicles que passen per fora, els gossos… com si els tinguéssis al costat. És una cabana

El hombre que lo regenta es muy amable y super agradable. El desayuno de 10 y las vistas increíbles. El colchón de la cama es comodísimo y la habitación está muy bien.

Esperas de un sitio así que no haya ruido y que sea muy tranquilo. Hay demasiado ruido actualmente, hay una obra detrás de un hotel, un templo muy cerca y además se escuchan demasiados ruidos por la noche. Es una cabaña y no está muy aislada. Es una pena porque la cama era realmente cómoda, pero no descansamos ningún día.

Wir hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt! Das Frühstück war richtig lecker und die Auswahl auch sehr gut. Der Host war super freundlich und immer für uns da – wir haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt. Wir würden gerne wieder kommen.

La cabaña está bien. Correcta. Buenas vistas en el desayuno. Staff agradable.

No hay acceso al hotel. Una cuesta tremenda sin asfaltar, llena de grava y sin iluminación ninguna. Solo pueden acceder tuktuks y de mala manera. No se entiende que el hotel no habilite un acceso medianamente decente.

I really enjoyed my stay here. It is in a quiet spot away from the busy town and the view is beautiful. The balcony is the perfect place to enjoy the view. The staff were really friendly and the breakfast was also great.

It can get a bit noisy, which is to be expected as you are in a cabin, but ear plugs help and this didn't take away from the experience.

Chambre sympathique dans une petite cabane en bois, avec une vue magnifique sur les montagnes environnantes. Super petit dej, copieux et délicieux, savouré face à la vue. Pas loin du centre de Ella (à peine 10 minutes en Tuk Tuk et environ 15/20 mins à pieds). Le monsieur qui gère l’établissement est adorable, toujours disponible pour aider - nous le remercions vivement !

La chambre est dans une petite cabane en bois, ce qui veut dire que l’isolation acoustique laisse un peu à désirer, ce qui peut être problématique si les voisins ne sont pas respectueux (ce qui était notre cas). De plus, comme beaucoup d’endroits dans le pays, la cabane laisse passer le jour ce qui promet un réveil matinal pour partir à la découverte de Ella.

בעלים נחמדים מאוד, נתקענו באמצע הלילה בלי מפתח והם באו ועזרו לנו, היה נקי וכיף מקום מהמם !

Sehr freundlicher und zuvorkommender Gastgeber, der außerdem ein leckeres Frühstück zubereitet. Super hilfsbereit! Vom Berg aus hat man einen grandiosen Ausblick und auch das Bett war echt gemütlich.

Man kann leider nicht mit dem Auto zur Unterkunft fahren, nur mit dem TucTuc. D.h. wenn man abgeholt wird, muss man den steilen Berg mit dem Gepäck hochlaufen. Kein Moskitonetz!

We loved the view, and the room was so nice and clean, also the bed was really comfortable. Overall we loved the stay, especially the breakfast!! The sri lankan breakfast was delicious.

Lovely little place a bit outside the town. Everything was really clean and had a lovely bathroom. Breakfast was also really delicious and the host was lovely

The rooms are self made out of wood, the beds are very comfortable, the view is amazing, bathroom is good, and best of all: the host is very sweet! He was always waiting for us to come home and made delicious breakfast in the morning.

Beautifully designed. Great woodwork throughout the property, all done by themselves ...you can see the carpentry unit on site. Generous and good breakfast.

It was just perfect, host was really helpful and even ordered dinner for us cuz we were exhausted traveling. Room was quite spacious, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was delicious! We absolutely love to come back!

We stayed 3 nights in the Lamiacae wood cabin. It is located a bit outside of the city of Ella, but is easily accessible if you have a car or tuktuk. Keep in mind that the road is very steep. The room itself looked very good and was clean. The view from the room was very nice and the staff was very friendly. The breakfast was very extensive and delicious. I would definitely recommend staying at Lamiacae wood cabin.

First off, the staff are phenomenally accommodating, and were able to organise pretty much anything we wanted, including a transfer to the next town! The property itself is stunning, set in the treetops overlooking a valley. It rained while we were in Ella, and it was a great place to sit and watch the rain. The sounds of the rainforest at night was amazing to listen to. The breakfast was excellent, and very filling. Bar fridge was a nice touch.

Some construction work near the property but it didn’t bother us much.

This is a real gem. We booked the family room and the double room which were both clean, comfortable, and nicely furnished. The view is just incredible and so relaxing. The scenery in the morning is just amazing when you see and hear all the surroundings waking up. From the start, we were welcome with such a nice friendly atmosphere and they went over their duty to make us happy. We all absolutely loved it and will come back. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

Nice wood cabin next to Ella, perfect location and amazing views to the mountain. Really big and tasty breakfast with lots of fruits, roti, bread and omelette. Staff were very welcoming and friendly, always with a smile.

It was a nit noisy on the morning because they are building next to this place and hot water didn’t always work.

The rooms are nice and clean and the view is amazing. The breakfast was very good. Senjewee took very good care of us, he was very nice and always helpful.

It’s a little outside Ella and we feel like the tuctucs overcharged us a bit, because of the hill the had to go down, even though we waked most of the time. But in general it’s nice, if you like to stay a little bit outside of busy Ella. Also there is a bus going to and from Ella during the day, which is very cheap and only a few minute ride. Also their was a lot of construction going on during the day, which was very loud, but I think that was just a temporary problem, because they got quite a lot of work done, while we were there.

An oasis near Ella. A very quiet place with a beautiful view, very nice and well equipped room! The breakfast was also very good, there was also space for our bikes. Highly recommended!

It’s a new accommodation just 5 min outside Ella in nature. Which is good cause Ella was too busy for us. The room has its own balcony, there was some coffee and tea in the room and the shower was amazing. Lovely big bed, which was great as well as my husband is super tall. The man who checked us in and made us breakfast was an absolute champ, so friendly! The breakfast was the best we had in Sri Lanka! Fresh roti! Thanks so much! We had a lovely stay!

Everything was amazing

The breakfast was everyday amazing, freshly cooked and the portions were huge! The owner was really kind and helpful! He managed to find us a scooter to rent although it was nye and availability was very limited.

Warm water for shower was not to hot.

It was all in all perfect. The owner made a very delicious breakfast every morning and gave us tips and arranged a tuktuk for us. Also perfect for a group of friends.

Great and friendly host. Helped us with everything and was extremely kind! Breakfast was also amazing every morning. Room was nice and clean, hot water to shower and a great view from the balcony in front of the room. Location is a 5min TukTuk ride (around 600 LKR) out of Ella town.

The room was very clean, the view amazing, the bed very confortabile and the breakfast just delicious. We had omelette, fruits, pancakes, tea and coffee, rotti. The host very welcoming, helped us with the laundry. We booked it for 2nights but we stayed one more night, as the location was amazing.

Super nice place, a gem, surrounded by tea plantations. Staff going out of their way to spoil you, starting with delitious breakfast. And the view from the balkon just perfect! To be highly recommanded, no doubts about it.

Even though this property was well made , in a gorgeous location. And had an amazing caretaker who was friendly and made you feel welcome. He went out of his way to cater to you. The place was really great value for money as well. However, the whole experience was marred by the behaviour of the property owner. After we had checked in and spent the night at the property. Post breakfast, we sorted out the bill and paid up in cash as requested by the owner and received a bill. Once we left the property, the owner updated on Booking.com that we were a no-show. Which meant that, we would be charged a fine for the no-show and he gets to avoid paying commission to the site. Such a horrible unethical thing to do by the owner. I reached out to the Booking.com customer care and updated them of the situation. They then updated that appropriate action will be taken against the property. Sad, that inspite of us really loving the place and having such a great caretaker. The owner 's behaviour left us with a bad taste.

We loved the views and gorgeous design and style of the cabin. The beds were very comfortable, everything very clean and an amazing breakfast. The neighbour gave us a ride into Ella, very kindly picked us up too. No charge.

The super steep hill to the property was tricky for vans, the taxis were only happy to drop us half way down. Not recommended for anyone with mobility issues or small children! The Tuk Tuk and car can manage, just not a van, which we needed. Again, the neighbour drive us and luggage to the top, no problem. Just to mention, one of us was disturbed by the Islamic prayer at 4.45am each am. Earplugs helped!!!

A little away from Ella main town but was okay as we hired a moped

It was a very nice and cozy room. We got the family room because there was no other left and we loved it! When we arrived we got welcomed with tea. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very good! We got a traditional Sri Lanka breakfast 😊 They organised us a scooter to rent and helped us getting down to Tangalle! One thing… the accommodation is about 1-2km far from Ella Town, good to know and people might think it’s annoying but we really liked being in the middle of nature and meeting locals and just listening to the sounds of nature! We would always come again!

The wooden cabins are beautifully crafted and very cozy! They have been built with love. The beds are comfy. You go to sleep to the sound of cicadas and wake to the sound of Buddhist prayers and bird songs. Breakfast was also fantastic! The owner is very friendly and helpful.

The WiFi appears to have a data limit - it’s fast in the morning and extremely slow in the evenings. The location is not a big problem, but about 1,5 kilometers from the city - walkable by day, at night better to take a tuk tuk.

All four of us absolutely loved this room! The styling of it was really nice, the views were beautiful and location was tranquil. The owner/host was super helpful as well!

It’s very authentic, with an amazing view. Everything is wooden ! The host was super helpful, helped us to buy some food in the shop and was always responsive about our inquiries. Nice breakfast (we could choose between traditional Sri Lankan breakfast and western)

A bit cold at night (January). Would be great if there are thicker blankets . Also the sounds of prayers from the mosque nearby at 5-6 am : be ready to wake up at that time 😁🫣
