Riad Alena

Very clean, exactly as advertised. I loved it. Cost and welcoming. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing.

Wow what a wonderful place to stay! Fell in love with the awesome crew who took us under their wing for our entire stay, and fed us magnificently. Lots of love to you all and hope to see you next time!

Nothing

Delightful Riad - lovely rooms and the best food we ate during our stay was at the Riad .Exceptionally friendly and helpful local staff - who spoke very good English.Great location in the Medina.

Riad Alena is a quiet oasis in the hustle and bustle of the Medina. The staff was absolutely lovely. The breakfasts were delicious and served on the rooftop. Tailored to our tastes and times they were perfect. The riad itself is a beautiful homey space. We instantly felt comfortable there. So unique is the location that meeting staff outside the Medina is a really smart idea. We always felt safe in the area, even after dark. We have no problem with stairs but if you do you should ask for the room on the ground floor. We would highly recommend staying at Riad Alena.

The only thing that was bothersome was the smoke from the fireplaces. It was quite cool and rainy when we were there so fires were lit regularly and though they made things cozy, they produced a lot of smoke that lingered and found it's way into the rooms. Maybe it was the wood or maybe the chimneys need cleaning but we did find that the smell of smoke was quite strong at times.

We had a wonderful stay at Riad Alena. By far the most outstanding part of this place is the beautiful staff Mustapha, Abla, Abdul & all. They were so friendly and welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. I would definitely return

Unfortunately we experienced freak weather for Marrakech (first few days) and the place was quite cold and damp.

Loved everything about the property. Beautiful decor, fabulous location and wonderful team.

This is an oasis in the hustle and bustle of Marrakech, a small riad of 4 rooms, based within the Medina with a cosy roof top for outdoor dining. I travelled with my daughter and felt safe walking around and about from here. The care from the team was exceptional - replying promptly to emails, arranging transfers to the airport, recommending guides/places to visit/hammam spa. Abla cooked for us on the first night and it remains one of our favourite meals, along with the breakfast shakshuka. The whole team though - Mustapha, Abla, Fatima, Abdo made us feel like part of their family and were always happy to help and chat. I'd definitely recommend this if you are looking for somewhere with Moroccan charm, comfort and hospitality.

Nothing!

Lovely Riad in a great location. Room was a good size and beautifully presented and we slept exceptionally well in the very comfortable bed! . Staff were delightful, happy and chatty. The Riad was perfect to relax and unwind in after a mad day in the souks! Would highly recommend.

Nothing

Location very good, staff fantastic, food excellent

The weather was very cold while we were there and there was nowhere to eat inside the Riad. Some people may be put off by the lack of a bathroom door.

Localização! Funcionários! Limpeza! Aconchegante! Café da manhã delicioso!Tudo perfeito nesse Riad! Estão de Parabéns!

Tudo Perfeito! Nada a reclamar.

What a delightful stay we've just had at Riad Alena! Booked several months ago after seeing a review in The Times in England, we had lots of contact with the Team, who helped us organise a wonderful itinerary to explore the best of Marrakech, including a cookery lesson too! Riad Alena is a real gem, a haven, steeped in tradition, superb food, and friendly, attentive staff. Thank you to Louis, Mustapha, Abdul, Abla and Fatima for helping us to have a wonderful holiday.

Nothing, everything was perfect!

The location is perfect, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was memorable, and the fact that the Riad is small makes it truly feel like home!

The one caveat about the rooms is that they are a little dark! Other than that, they were spacious, comfortable and clean!

Mustapha and Abdoul were wonderful couldn’t have done more. The food was delicious and sitting and eating out on the roof terrace was lovely really peaceful after a busy day.

Room was smaller than expected.

Riad maravilhoso! Quartos e banheiros limpos, decoração linda. A localização perfeita! Tudo Perfeito!

Gostamos de Tudo!

Great central location, good base for exploring (and quiet). Delicious breakfast and the staff are very welcoming. The courtyard and roof terrace are beautiful!

The breakfast was amazing and the whole ambiance and feeling and the staff - it felt like a home away from home!

Nothing!

Beautiful riad in a perfect location (though easy to walk past on first visit!) the breakfast was delicious and the staff super friendly.

The riad was truly lovely and beautiful, however it is small so if you are looking for more vibrancy then it may be quiet. But for tranquility and high standards, it's perfect

Breakfast was an appetising traditional Morrocan breakfast served on the roof terrace. Staff were all lovely and contributed to our enjoyment. Very much a temporary home from home. The riad is quiet and peaceful in contrast to the bustling Medina outside.

Nothing comes to mind.

There’s everything to love about the Riad … the super friendly staff, location, food, decor. Lovely breakfast included which is served on the terrace. Easy to come and go. Highly recommended.

Nothing other than the room being quite cold (I was here in December).

An outstanding riad for comfort, cleanliness, great food and location. The staff are utterly delightful and ensure your stay is ideal. A must when visiting Marrakech.

Too short a stay!

This Road had a personality all of its own. Beautifully decorated, friendly and a home from home experience

Welcoming and comfortable

Only that I couldn’t stay longer!

The staff was simply great! Hamid, Abdul and Abla - great hosts that made our stay very very special! The breakfast and location, were also incredible!

The location and staff

Nothing!

Riad is spotlessly clean. Breakfast exceptional. Fresh and delicious. Staff amazing, helpful and nothing was a problem for them. Abdul was always on hand to help arrange trips and taxis.

Because the Riad was authentic. Our room was on little snug.

Everything was great, Abdu was very helpful and we had the most fantastic dinner on the rooftop, just us, far from the crowd. So delicious. I would suggest just a little more variety for breakfast

Nice design, great staff that were very attentive. The riad is very quiet and peaceful.

The room we had was on the ground floor by the door. This made it subject to hearing all comings and goings from the riad. This room is also very dark and not well ventilated, it felt a bit like a cave. Would avoid this room.

Very small, only four rooms, quiet, cool and very peaceful. But the best part was Abdou, who was so caring and helpful. And as a woman traveling alone, I felt totally cared for. He was the best and made my stay so wonderful

I absolutely loved everything about this place. The location is perfect—right in the center, yet peaceful and quiet. The rooms are beautifully stylish, and I really enjoyed the art throughout the Riad. Breakfast was delightful, and the entire team was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!

Breakfast was delicious. Location is excellent. Bed was super comfortable.

I loved staying at Riad Alena! The airport shuttle was a breeze – the driver was very nice and shared lots of great recommendations on the way to the riad. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, and the terrace overlooking the king’s gardens in the morning was wonderful. All the staff were incredibly helpful and lovely. The location was brilliant – I could walk to all the major places.

It’s a small riad, so the room was a bit compact, and there was no door between the room and the bathroom, which could be awkward.

Location. Central but very quiet

Great location. Good sized rooms. Lovely roof terrace. Amazing lunch on our first day.

The food was incredible and we had chosen the road because of this and because it said you get a different breakfast each day but sadly we had the exact same breakfast for three days running. Also beware no toilet door if you are a private couple!

Gentilissimi, centralissimo, silenzioso…colazione TOP….assolutamente da consigliare 💪 staff disponibilissimo! Tutto SUPER

Central location, as shown on the web, super comfortable beds, very clean, excellent hospitality and amazing food.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. It is a small and beautiful riad in Marrakech. The entire staff was super friendly and helpful in every way. The breakfast was delicious, and the view was amazing. I loved that I could make myself a delicious coffee anytime. The riad had a lovely family atmosphere. I would like to especially thank Soulaimane, who took care of everything from arrival to departure. I would definitely choose to stay at this riad again in the future.

Fantastic location, in the medina but only just. So it’s easier to get your bearings.

The room didn’t have a lock on it. I was given one when asked though.

The breakfast was great. Freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee along with yogurt and eggs & Moroccan delicacies. The location was perfect. It's not too deep in the Medina and enabled quick entry and exits.

I liked everything.

A charming 4 room only Riad. Host and staff were super friendly and helpful. Felt like I was staying in someone’s home as a treasured guest. Breakfast is amazing, pure traditional and home made delights! Each morning I ate on the cosy roof terrace. Location is just inside the Medina with parking (paid) nearby. Main area is 5 mins through the winding alleyways 😄 Quite at night 👍🏽

That I had to leave!

Amazing little spot, right in the middle of the medina. Staff were incredibly helpful (helping us book great tours/trips and restaurants every night) and preparing amazing food. Highly recommend the dinner in the Riad one night too. Thank you for an amazing time.

For light sleepers, the Riad is quite small so it is possible to hear people moving around. However, not much of a problem and if it is, I would advise taking one of the rooms upstairs

Location, cleanliness

This was such a stunning little Riad. Very chic decor. Very easy to access, in my favorite part of the Medina. I have stayed in 5-6 different Riads in Marrakech and 10-12 in Morocco and this was by far my favorite.

I liked everything

Souleiman and Abla were great staff, very helpful and kind. Breakfast was amazing. Location was very good. Decoration of the room was nice.

Room was a little small.

Riad Alena exceeded all our expectations based on the style of the venue, the lovely staff, insane breakfast and the owner Louis friendly approach and helpfulness with other referrals in Marrakech. We will 100% be going back.

Riad Alena is a true gem, excellent location, friendly staff, you feel safe and secure also, a good wifi. Louis makes you feel at home, the staff Soulaimane and Habla are very accommodating and kind. The breakfast is delicious you have the choice to eat on the beautiful terrace. You are also offered in the lounge tea, coffee and water to help yourself and Bagheera the dog is wonderful. Thank you for a pleasant stay.

Overall I was very happy, thank you.

Staff was super helpful and kind, and the breakfast was amazing!

Loved all of it, no complaints!

Very cosy and clean, well maintained Riad

Nothing - everything was perfect

Divine little Riad, beautifully decorated, steps from El Fenn and - heaven - car access! Louis makes you feel as if you are in your own home, and Suleiman and Abla looked after us so well. Best thing of all were the beds - ridiculously comfortable with gorgeous linens. We’re going back in a few weeks!

Everything was simply great

Riad Alena is a true gem in Marrakesh - I cannot fault it. Louis, Soulaimane and Alba could not have been more welcoming and helpful. I visited with my mum and, with only 3 rooms, it feels like you are staying at someones home but with the conveniences of a boutique hotel. The rooms are beautifully designed and the roof top is stunning, overlooking the gardens of the palace. It is in a perfect location, right near the action of the Medina but tucked away so it is very quiet. Alba is an INCREDIBLE cook, the breakfasts were delicious and I cannot recommend more the homecooked tagine we had on the roof - this was the best food we had in Marrakesh by a long way! Soulaimane couldn't have been more helpful - he organised a tour of the Medina for us with Mohammed (which I would absolutely recommend) and gave us other recommendations in the city. Louis was a fabulous host, sorting out our reservations and even organising a pool day for the end of our stay. This Raid deserves a 11+ out of 10!

Nothing.

Riad Alena was a great surprise by everything. Very well located, rooms and the entire riad impeccably decorated and comfortable. Louis and Souleimane were very efficient hosts in dealing with our requests and extremely friendly. Excellent breakfast on the roof top. I would not hesitate to come back and recommend it to my friends without a doubt.

Riad Alena is a real gem. I was visiting on business and needed a haven of calm alongside the bustle and fun of the Medina - I found it. Abla (who does the cooking) and Soulaimane are a sister brother team at the heart of Alena, with Asma in support. The breakfasts are wonderfully varied and all home cooking, even jams and bread; the additional evening meals are frankly stunning - the best food I have tasted in Marrakech, by far. WiFi was fast, beds/pillows are sumptuous and the rooms gorgeous. Life on the terrace was ideal - I could work, take in some sun and light the fire as the evening cooled. Excellent value for money.

Really hard to find anything that was not on point.

Where do I begin?! You can draw many parallels with Read Alina to a heaven on earth - however, not only does it bring you close to a group of people that you soon love and would call family, but it holds a kind of mystical magic and the most wonderful vibrancy (both in feel but also design) that no Heaven could compare with. The wonderful staff, Abla (with her Shakshuka that would make Jamie Oliver drool) and her younger brother Sullyman (the most gentle gent of all Moroccan gents!) make you feel at home as soon as you step foot into the Riad. Louis (who you soon realise it the hostest with the mostest & potentially Marrakech’s biggest name on the block) does a FANTASTIC job at making sure you squeeze every bit of magic out of Marrakesh (within whatever the timeframe!) and unfailingly brings the energy from morning through till night. Now, given the place is ran by such incredible personalities, it seems only fitting that the guests follow suit. It’s no exaggeration to say that after just 5 nights (and a fair bit of Vino!!) in the Riad, I’ve walked away with 3 wonderful friends - plus a few wedding invitations! - and memories that will last a lifetime. I couldn't be more grateful to Louis, his team, and the wonderful girls who I ended up sharing my entire trip with. Without Riad Alina, I wouldn't have even scratched the surface of what Morocco had to offer. See ya next time - LET'S BRING ON ROUND 2!
