Hidden Gem

Elise and Alistair hosted us for 2 nights for our visit to Greytown. Hidden Gem lives up to its name...we were wowed from the start. Elise and Alistair are amazing hosts, they are so friendly and made us feel welcome right from the start. The accommodation is well thought out and incredibly comfortable. A wonderful breakfast provided each morning which was superb. Elise and Alistair are a lovely couple, with amazing stories to share...and everywhere they recommended us to visit in Wairapa was brilliant...their local knowledge is tremendous. We will most definitely be visiting again.

Elise and Alastair could have charged more, so we didn't feel so guilty about the amazing bargain.

Separate from main dwelling looking on to lovely garden, with separate bedroom. All modern and well equipped. Owners very friendly and welcoming.

Je pense que c'est l' un des meilleurs endroits que nous ayons fait. Tout est fait pour que vous vous sentiez à l'aise, d ailleurs ça été un des meilleurs moments de notre voyage. Nous avons vraiment apprécié la gentillesse et l accueil de nos hôtes, le logement est spacieux, propre et très jolie. Le petit déjeuner est bien copieux. Nous étions simplement de passage, mais nous serions rester une en nuit en plus si notre programme pouvait nous le permettre. Aussi, notez que le charmant village de Greytown est tout a côté!!

Elise & Alaistair were lovely hosts, we were welcomed with warm smiles and there were the little touches (like the chocolates on the bed upon arrival). Nice wee spot close to the centre and perfect walking distance to make the most of the winter fair. Continental breakfast was available but we opted against it this time around to explore the area more.

This is a great place to stay.Lovely hosts and a great breakfast .Plenty of space including a little sitting room.

We had an incredible stay and wish we could have stayed longer. Elise and Alastair are wonderful hosts with some amazing stories to share. They were extremely helpful, kind, and welcoming. The suite was large, very clean, and the bed was so comfortable! The continental breakfast is a lovely touch. Absolutely recommend the Hidden Gem for a stopover! We hope to be back!

The hosts - kind, helpful, super accommodating, and provided excellent communication right the way through. The amazing accommodation - our own bedroom, bathroom, sitting room, front patio space. The AirBnB space is separated from the hosts home via a locable internal door. Everything is maintained so beautifully, the space is thoughtfully laid out with everything and more you could need for a short or long stay. We wish we'd had more than one night! The BED! - soooo comfy & warm with arrival choccies on our pillows. The brekky - it was such a beaut treat to have a traditional BnB contintenal brekky laid on by the hosts, at their dining table overlooking the garden and apple tree. They went to sooo much trouble. Lactose free milk & AND gluten free bread and cereal for my hubby, homemade apple compote, croissants, fresh coffee, juice and excellent company. We felt thoroughly spoilt. The location - a minute's drive to this pretty town's main street and 15mins to Stone Henge Aotearoa - which was such a special and educational experience. We'd thoroughly recommend Hidden Gem and can't wait to go back.

Hosts Elise and Alistair were very welcoming and their communications and instructions before arrival were excellent. Hidden Gem is more than you would expect of a B&B with its own entrance as well as a separate lounge. Well appointed throughout, very clean and comfortable with everything you might need. It certainly lives up to its name!

Lovely spot in Greytown, with easy access to the State Highway to get around the Wairarapa. Comfortable, warm, quiet and with a lovely garden and welcoming hosts. Continental breakfast was just what we needed each morning!

I had the perfect stay! The hosts were some of the warmest and most genuinely kind people I’ve ever met – their hospitality was heartfelt and made me feel completely at home, absolutely outstanding. From the very first moment, I was welcomed with such care and thoughtfulness. The accommodation was fantastic: beautifully designed, spotless, and incredibly comfortable. The bed felt like sleeping in heaven, and the breakfast was great. The garden was a peaceful little retreat, perfect for relaxing. Greytown is a charming town, and the location is ideal for exploring Martinborough and Cape Palliser. This was truly one of the most memorable and heartwarming stays of my travels – thank you so much!

Hidden Gem was easy to locate and handy to the town where the options for shopping and food are great. Communication from the hosts and the check-in were both excellent. We noticed how quiet and comfortable the accommodation was - we had a very good sleep. Having a small lounge as well as the bedroom and dry kitchen available felt spacious. The breakfast was filling and delicious.

Hidden Gem lived up to its name in every way. Elise and Alastair were so welcoming, friendly and generous - perfect hosts and really warm, interesting people. The accommodation was excellent - immaculate and very comfortable and we loved the little sitting room and access to Netflix!! The garden was stunning and so private.

We didn’t like having to leave!

Our hosts were so lovely and welcoming. We had continental breakfast served each morning and came home with a box of gifted feijoas and apples! Our room/suite had everything we needed and was much bigger than anticipated. Everything was perfect. Thank you :)

Very lovely hosts who took their time to explain things and were very welcoming. Set in a beautiful garden and although adjoined to their home, was super private. Lovely breakfast next morning too!

best place to stay hands down. highlights for me was , they had a washing machine to use to wash your clothes. no bed and breakfast place i have stayed at offered that facility. free chocolate and chips on arrival. free breakfast was good, the hosts were very welcoming. they had netflix!! all other places I stayed didnt have that option. value for money

When we arrived there was a bowl of grapes from the garden and a chocolate on each of our pillows. We had a delicious continental breakfast in a sun filled room. We enjoyed getting to know our hosts Elise and Alistair.

Loved everything. The owners had thought of everything and more to make a comfortable and memorable stay. From fresh milk in the fridge and bubbles and crisps and biscuits and chocolate and home grown grapes. Such a fab place and lovely couple. Was such a treat

Hosts very friendly nice people and very accommodating. They lent us an umbrella for the sun and a hat for my husband as we had a wedding to go to

Electric Jug, cups etc were in walkin wardrobe so no sink to wash in but hosts happy for us to use their bbq and kitchen and they collected and did our dishes.

Absolutely stunning accommodation. Lovely setup with wing on the side of the host's house. The accommodation has a bedroom, living room, outside seating area as well as options for cooking your own food if needed and a washing machine which was a godsend! The hosts were extremely accommodating and when we used the BBQ gave us oil, lime and seasoning. Breakfast was fabulous. Best place we've stayed in New Zealand. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Elise was very welcoming, communicated well and the accommodation is in a lovely private spot! We arrived late and left very early in the morning as we were travelling for work but Elise made sure that we were comfortable and that we had everything we needed.

Loved everything about my stay at this property. Perfect location, wonderful amenities, delicious breakfast and very kind hosts.

Upon arrival we were surprised with a little freeby alcoholic drink in our fridge and chippies - just what we needed after a 4 hour drive. This accommodation is clean, warm and spacious and nicely decorated. It took us around 10-15 mins to walk into Greytown shops and restaurants but the walk is easy and flat. The accommodation is in a safe and quiet neighborhood. The breakfast was hosted by the house owners and although they didn't eat with us, they did sit and have a chat. Very easy comfortable hosts to be around and yummy food. Will definitely stay again if back in Greytown.

Elise and Alistair were exceptional hosts, going above and beyond what I expected. Welcoming you with genuine smiles and catering . The bottle of bubbly and nibbles was just wonderful suprise to find in the fridge. The breakfast was amazing.
