Basin View

Extremely pleasant stay at Basin View - thanks heaps to Geoff and Mary for hosting us at their lovely little guest accommodation in Basin View. We had a lovely time - the place was comfortable, well equipped with everything we needed, and had lovely little touches (fresh flowers, boardgames, etc.). Geoff and Mary were also incredibly lovely and easy to communicate with - they knew we were visiting Auckland for our honeymoon and gave us a small card and gift to make the trip extra special. We really appreciated it. 😊

If I had to give just one tiny piece of feedback, the only issue we faced was that of bugs at night. It might have just been the season we travelled in, but we had a small issue with bugs, especially mosquitoes, entering the property if we cracked the windows (even slightly) at night. Because there weren't insect screens on the windows, this meant we had to keep the windows shut tight overnight, which made the accommodation a tiny bit stuffy while we slept.

Séjour exceptionnel du début à la fin ! La location est parfaite, avec une vue magnifique sur la ville et l’eau, dans un beau quartier paisible. L’hébergement est impeccable, très propre et soigneusement aménagé. La literie est de qualité, les équipements sont complets et bien pensés (grande télévision, machine à café, thés, lait bio au frigo), et la terrasse ajoute un vrai plus. L’air climatisé assure un confort optimal. On recommande vivement !

À noter que l’allée est un peu raide et étroite pour une grande voiture, il est donc plus facile de se garer dans la rue.

Excellent location Hosts helpful and responsive Lovely little balcony with great view of Orakei 20 minutes walk to shops, restaurants and train to Auckland city centre (5 minutes on train) Everything you need to have a great stay

Not a complaint but just be warned that the walk down and back up to and from Orakei is a steady climb. Not a problem for us!

Absolutely stunning views, extremely comfortable and clean, It was a pleasure to watch the Native birds (Tui, Eastern rosella & Kingfisher) from the balcony. Thank you for your kind hospitality. We will definitely return.

Perfect accommodation.

Superb view, great location, new apartment with everything you needed. Comfy bed, sofa, heating.

Love the views and the quietness of the neighborhood. You can hear the crickets, the birds, it was very relaxing. The owners and the people in general were all very friendly. People were very helpful. There are two small towns nearby that are in walking distance. You can use Uber very reasonably priced. You can use Uber eats and they'll bring you food if you don't feel like cooking. The place was set up with all your amenities and utensils. You really feel like you're at home when you're staying there. All I can say is thank you very much and well appreciated the stay. I would do it again but for a longer stay.

It's not that I didn't like anything, everything was perfect. I had a little hard time getting up and down the driveway because I am out of shape. I wasn't expecting that, so now thanks to that, I'm going to do more hiking and exercise to get back into shape. My friend had no problem going up and down. I think we both appreciated it and it gave us more incentive.

The condiments that are available such as hot drinks, milk, kitchen wraps, sandwich bags, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Luxurious towels and bedding and everything you need to be self sufficient while away. Extremely clean and tidy/immaculate.

Good location with a nice view. Accommodation had all the facilities you could want, even down to coffee for the coffee maker and plenty of choice of teas. The hosts Geoff and Marie have done a great job in supplying nice accommodation which was spotless.

What a wonderful accommodation!! A real pearl in the heart of Auckland, I started to miss the place as soon as I left. Definitely will come back.

The tv wouldn't work

View from the lounge/deck is great - I love looking at water. The place is also so well laid out it feels really spacious with the 3 levels and had everything I needed for a short stay. It is also great value for money in the area.

Everything that you need and more. Modern + full kitchen, nice views. Friendly hosts. Cosy for a family of 4 (2 adults / 2 kids). Good location close to beaches, CBD and Kelly Tarltons.
