Loved the room decor and the whole look and feel of the house. Breakfast was lovely but the orange juice wasn’t the best.
Breakfast was lovely but the orange juice wasn’t the best.
De vriendelijkheid van het personeel en de luxe van de kamer
Dat er geen parkeerplaats bij het hotel is
Location was great. Staff very friendly rooms and facilities good. Would visit again
Breakfast was a little basic, but good all the same
Location. Food. Room.
Parking outside hotel limited to 5 hours
The building is stunning and the location is perfect. Very easy to find and even though there is no onsite parking there is plenty of paid parking around the area which is very well lit at night
We had a pleasant enough stay overall, and I want to stress that the staff we encountered were polite and friendly. However, there were a few areas where the experience could have been better. When we arrived to check in, we waited around 10 minutes at reception before eventually having to find a member of staff ourselves. A little more attentiveness at reception would have made a much better first impression. The fire alarm went off at around 7am and continued for several minutes. Thankfully, it appeared to be a false alarm, but there was no explanation or acknowledgement of it when we checked out. Even a brief apology or reassurance would have been appreciated, particularly as it had interrupted our sleep. We went down for breakfast at around 8:20am and staff were already hoovering and mopping. We were told they had thought everyone had already been down, although fortunately there was still some food available. We also overheard one member of staff being spoken to about the misunderstanding, which perhaps highlighted that there could be better communication between the team. Finally, when checking out, our key was simply taken from us with no question about how our stay had been. Given the few issues we had experienced, this would have been a good opportunity to check that everything was okay and leave us with a more positive final impression. To be clear, nobody was rude or unpleasant towards us. It was more that there seemed to be a lack of attention to the guest experience. A little more communication, attentiveness and acknowledgement when things don’t go quite to plan would make a real difference.
Location, although parking was a problem and reception staff couldn't help. Restaurant
Say "no" to Nell The Nell suite is supposed to be one of the best rooms, if not the best. We booked for two nights. Terrible noise from boiler in cupboard in corner of the room that fired with clanking noise & closed down every few minutes throughout the night. No staff on duty overnight. Reported to reception staff first thing in the morning & offered to playback recording but was told this unnecessary as the fault was known about, but nothing could be done about it! We said the room should not have been offered in the first place if that was the case. We asked for a room change but were told that only a 'cosy' single available. We packed up our bags and took them to the car. We waited a couple of hours to see the manager who then 'found' another room for the second night but we had had enough & cancelled & argued for a refund that was very grudgingly given for the second night, but only £20 cash in hand for the first night that had cost £150 & despite our having had dinner in the restaurant the evening before.
Great location and very friendly & helpful staff.
A few maintenance issues need resolving and the breakfast quality was not great.
Comfy bed.
We paid for a luxury room which had the carpet nailed down with galvanised nails and picture hooks over the walls with nothing hanging on them. Paint work and windows were very poorly maintained and bath/ shower were in a poor condition and leaked. A cooked breakfast was only served after 10 am which is not clear on the description of breakfast included and the continental breakfast quality was poor. No water in the room - had to ask
Staff very friendly & helpful. Excellant location. Great food. Huge bedroom, very comfy bed with large ensuite. Kept clean and tidy. Really enjoyed the tapas. Lovely town with some beautiful buildings. Stain glass windowd in the Minster are amazing. Look foward to going back.
No car park. However there is lots of places around to park.
Such a historic town, and the Bank House is superbly located in the centre, but quiet and overlooking the river
Lots to like about this hotel. Great location, big rooms , friendly staff, nice breakfast. Rooms could do with a little TLC overall good value. But there is a big but coming....NO BLIND on the huge bathroom window, which was directly opposite the toilet, and adjacent the shower. And we were directly above the beer garden. If we hadn't hung our coats in the window, it would have been a every explicit view !
No blind on the bathroom window as described above.
Spacious room, good location.
The signs taped to the wall in the bathroom saying the blind was for decorative purposes only and not to press the right hand button on the toilet. You can’t get a freshly prepared cooked breakfast until after 10 am and then it’s £12 on top of what you have already paid for breakfast .
the situation
hot breakfast = dried out scrambled egg and ditto bacon
Good location
Shower pressure in Thomas room not good
I was initially allocated a 3rd floor room for one night but was swapped to a first floor room as I would have struggled with 6 flights of stairs (no lift). The tray for Tea/Coffee was dirty with crumbs, no bin in the bedroom (only bathroom). Dust all over the lampshades beside the bed and the bedside drawers were dirty on the surface. The lock on the door was difficult to lock/unlock when leaving. Tap water in a jug no bottled water provided, packet milk etc....... For the price and the standard of hotel I was expecting more and I have stayed at this hotel over the last 10 years and it felt like it had gone down hill. At breakfast there were no tongs for picking up the bread, not enough bread or plates (had to request more) and I was surprised as I'm sure when I've stayed it's not been like this previously. My Tea Cup was dirty and had to be changed too. I will probably avoid next time in the area as not what I expected for the price charged.
location was right by the river Ouse, very historical house, about a 10 min walk from the bus and rail stations and very near to the main shopping area. Easy to get around as there are many signposts.
this is nit picking, breakfast could have done with vegetables such as tomatoes, though sunday breakfast did contain these. There are no lifts but the staff would more than likely assist with carrying luggage.
Great place, feels a little bit like it's slightly neglected though. I understand it was taken over by a new owner in recent years. It's a lovely building and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was ok, and the staff were brilliant.
There were little details that felt odd. Rooms stacked with furniture not in use that we had to walk through, an old fridge hanging around on the landing, napkins piled up on the counter in the breakfast room, etc. Little details that could easily be sorted, but just led to an overall feel of being a bit neglected.
Lovely old building which has a great history and it is beautifully kept. Really good location too by river and middle of town.
We liked everything but the parking was not close - although it was inexpensive for 24hr parking.
The staff were lovely and the views superb
The food and drink offering could be improved
Breakfast basic, awful, limited. Used to be much better under previous ownership
Perfect location,beautiful room, great staff
It’s a lovely boutique hotel in a charming area of King’s Lynn.
Lots of character and a lovely environment
This hotel has a perfect setting next to the Ouse, the restaurant had a great veranda for sunny days and the bar food was good. Our views were wonderful and a perfect setting to explore the old town.
However the hotel smacks of neglect, the bathroom looked like it was done poorly on the 1970s, no shower, just a bath in the room that had seen better days, and a shower tap on it that did not work, old picture holes in walls and decor that needs at least a touch up, carpet that has been nailed down to the floor, pillows that were lumpy and hard and could do with replacing. In the bar we were served dirty trays with pepper and salt on by a member of staff in an unclean uniform. This hotel has so much potential, and i have no doubt that running an establishment at the prices they charge will be making it hard to make ends meet, however just a few small bits of attention to detail would make an enormous difference
Character full and traditional
Beautiful building. Spacious room. Delicious breakfast and friendly staff.
There was nothing we disliked.
Very friendly staff. Excellent service. Couldn't be faulted.
We were in Nell’s room, which was very nice with a lovely view of the river. The restaurant is very good and run by friendly staff, with the choice of a pub-like seating overlooking the river, a more formal dining room or a shady courtyard by the side entrance.
The room should have been very comfortable but unfortunately our stay coincided with a heat wave and being situated on the top floor, with windows facing west and without air conditioning it was challenging - the room temperature in the bathroom reached 34C! The two electric fans provided were a godsend but it didn’t help that the bed had a thick double duvet (quickly removed from its cover) and the cleaning staff didn’t keep the curtains closed during the day. The breakfast was a bit hit and miss. It was an enjoyable two night stay despite the negatives.
Great location. Nice old building with lots of character. Really comfortable bed. Good breakfast.
Little bit pricey
Good location, friendly staff, nice clean and freshly renewed outside terrace. Room was big and had everything we needed for overnight stay. Can not fault. Very nice.
Our girl tripped on broken patio tail and hurt her elbow, could do a bit with the upkeep with outside. And no parking, but there were payable parking not far, and 1h free parking to check in and unload.
Good Location and lovely terrace for watching the sun and the river reflections. Interior a little dated Perhaps but all Clean and well kept. Sadly I had requested a twin room and non were available which was a great disappointment.
Out door seating was plentiful But not very comfortable - cushions for the bench seats might be nice….
Stunning location and building Friendly staff and fabulous breakfast
The cooked breakfast was out of this world and worth waiting until 10am to get it. The bed room was large with comfortable arm chairs and great views.
Confusing instructions about the timing of breakfast. I was told no cooked food before 10am because that was when the chef arrived only to find there was cooked food available at 7.30am. The layout of the building is a little confusing and it takes time to learn which way to turn to find your bedroom
The bed was comfy.
We've stayed at the bank house many times before. But this last time was really bad. Room was dirty, shower tray hadn't been cleaned, window blind was broken, so couldnt open it. On check in, staff didnt know where the room was. And on check out, the staff got aggressive trying to get me to pay again even though we had only payed the day before! Was a poor end to a poor stay, won't be returning.
Very friendly and engaging team. lovely size rooms and great food at dinner and breakfast.
Better blind/curtains for the bathroom and the tea/coffee niche en route to the bathroom. Did feel exposed to the street once or twice!
Comfy bed Spacious room Good location
No allocated parking (no discounts for nearby) No shower in room Breakfast, wrong items and poor coffee limited range and timings Bar staff rude and closed bar at 10.30- not 11 as advertised Not value for money Room missing pictures and a tassimo machine
Comfortable, clean ,large room . Very good price.
The breakfast was rushed. There wasn't much on offer, no toast with breakfast ,tea very weak , waitress put breakfast down then disappeared I didn't see her for tomato sauce , nobody came to see if everything was alright .no suger for husband's rice kripsies only suger cubes .
Its position next to the river, and located in the old part of the town.
The parking arrangements. The app that covers the surrounding area never works easily. Also one of our party was informed by the app that no parking was available, and had to travel some distance to find parking. Insufficient cooling fans in the bedrooms. Breakfast arrangements. There is a small buffet breakfast available till 10am and then a much better breakfast from a menu with waiter service after 10am.This isn’t explained when checking in.
Location was good, staff were friendly
My room Burson, was on a noisy corridor and you could here everyone coming a going, fixing the floor boards would help, sat on the toilet which felt like it was going to come off the wall soon, and I’m a very slight build, the shower head was dirty, not allowing water to flow out properly, and finally the curtains needed to be a foot wider. breakfast was nice, but limited choice, to be fair I was told it was a nice place but I’m not sure you can justify £135 per night
I didn't have breakfast but everything else was surpurb
Lovely small hotel, lovely and bijou. Restaurant was wonderful - to much on the menu we wanted to try
Unfortunately we stayed on one of the hottest days ever in the UK, made it an unpleasant nights sleep with just a fan in the room
We enjoyed staying at Bank House very much. The only down was the breakfast, it was really disappointing that there was not a freshly cooked breakfast, which we have had before and were looking forward to. A fresh fruit salad would also have been nice, rather than chunks of fruit.

Atmosphere of the hotel
Very friendly staff. Very nice breakfast offered each morning and the main meals in the evening were excellent. Seafood used in all the dishes we had was very fresh and tasty. The location in the historic area of the city next to the water made a perfect setting to enjoy a sundowner and watch the fishing boats returning from their day out to sea. Also very quiet at night for a restfull sleep.
Breakfast didn't start early enough for business travellers
Hotel je speciální a to vším, vnímavý člověk pochopí tu jedinečnost, tu originalitu, autentičnost. Byli jsme nadšeni. 100%. Těšíme se na příště. Srdcová záležitost. Okolí nás také uchvátilo. King’s Lynn je bezva!
Nice staff, atmosphere, food, and lovely location. Nice spacious room and bathroom. Very clean and comfortable.
In the room some refurb work was needed. Stained drawers top, probably due to boiling water spill, and the shower enclosure looked a bit shabby in places. The easy chair seat was a bit sunk.
Excellent views over the river. Very comfy bed. And good location.
very noisy room directly over the beer garden.
Friendly staff. Good food alfresco due to warm weather. Nice position by the river
The room we were given on the hottest day of the year was too hot. Even the heating was on and windows would hardly open. Fortunately we were put into a cooler room but still needed a fan. After paying a high price for carpark outside we were told of a cheaper LT one down the road which we used the next day. If another room had not been found we would have had to stay in another hotel.
Perfect location, large rooms
Think a fridge in the rooms would be a good idea. We stayed on a warm night and would have been nice to have cold water. Not a complaint just a suggestion 👍
Good location
It wasn’t clean, massively overpriced for what it is and parking was a didn’t faff.
Gorgeous old building with lots of character. Modern facilities and friendly staff
Car parking - it could do with some dedicated car parking
Location is fantastic next to the Great Ouse and Customs House. I took the continental breakfast, like no other, fresh fruit, smoked meat and salmon, hot sausage, bacon and scrambled eggs. Also ate in the dining room excellent meal. Room had and excellent view of the river. Staff were pleasant.
No USB socket for phone.
location and exit
parking is always an issue, so parked by the dock. this was the best breakfast in Kings Lynn, now continental only. the bed tilted towards the middle of the room and the shower room has a low door. stay if under 5ft 8ins.
Wonderful location on the quayside of the old town in King's Lynn. Pleasant and helpful staff. Charming room and comfortable bed. Delicious breakfast with excellent ingredients.
Nothing
Great location and excellent restaurant food.
The location, the style and the restaurant.
It was not well insulated but understandable being a very old building.
The location, view Access to public transport Friendly staff
Shower and its curtain a bit outdated as the shower head was fixed and pointing out of the shower, water could escape Fan needs cleaning Breakfast somewhat inconsistent, juice on some days, only bacon, sausage available as cooked. Eggs on request. It felt sinewhat measured, we had to ask, however, at start we were told that we could have a full English breakfast after 10am which seems rather odd, late fie m8st guests.
Room was quiet, large and the bed was extremely comfortable. The reception area was nice and tidy, the folk working behind the desk were always friendly, and the location was excellent. Exiting directly onto the river, and all of Kings Lynn (and Norfolk, for a ten minute walk to the station!) is accessible. Really close also to the West Lynn Ferry.
I forgot to put out the DND sign before I went out on the first day and the cleaner closed one of the windows, which I could no longer open, which was frustrating. Also on day two I went for breakfast and the person helping out decided to flip my toast up on high and it came out way darker than I ever like to eat toast. This was really annoying and I didn't want to toast more and waste some. They also forgot my coffee, and I felt like a fool having to ask again.
窓からの眺望がよく川がよく見えました。。
ベッドの上の壁に大きな釘穴が4か所そのまま残っていたのが気になりました。部屋の模様替えをした跡がそのままだったのかもしれません。それ以外は大変快適でした。
Really nice staff and very flexible with regards check out time
Very good location. Comfortable room and the staff are friendly and helpful. The menu in the bistro restaurant is varied and tasty.
The continental breakfast is a bit minimal and needs to include a few additions.
The character of the property
The parking
The room, the info provided, the breakfast
Great location, fab staff, good cooked breakfast.
Location is excellent parking not great lovely historical building nice rooms stayed a few times but better under new ownership
Parking have to stay in long stay car park which is a bit of a hike with luggage but reasonable price x
The location was exactly what we needed and the room was clean with a comfortable bed.
The check-in was perfunctory and it appeared that the hotel wasn't really ready for guests, with untidy heaps of old furniture piled up outside and in the public rooms and workmen everywhere. The room was chilly which didn't make the most welcoming impression and the bathroom seemed makeshift and in urgent need of a refresh. Breakfast the following morning was really mediocre - we were informed that the chef didn't arrive until 10am ... did we want to wait (it was 9 o'clock) There was a limited selection of cereals and a few slices of cold meat and a bit of fruit on offer. I discovered a few bits of dried up bacon and four lukewarm sausages in a dish. (there were six guests in for breakfast when we were there) We were offered eggs by a staff member (who looked more like he was helping with the maintenance work than serving in the restaurant) - I didn't bother but my husband asked for two fried eggs which were slow to arrive and poorly cooked. There were a few pieces of ready-sliced packet bread on offer to make toast - which might have been ok if the toaster was effective - but no rolls, bagels, pastries or anything of the sort available. (I did ask and received a blank look)
Slow down and Settle in The Bank House. Its calm, comfort, and consistent So much so, availability often decides the journey.
That my visit wasn’t longer.
Comfy beds.
Shower weak.
Breakfast at the Bank House = Choice. Exceptional & experienced team players, greet clientele with genuine smiles, a nod and yes we can do attitude.
Not a Loyalty Card in sight!
Location, clean, comfortable bed, room size and it doesn't smell weird, reasonable price, keep the old building alive
I guess just a little improvement on the shower, the water pressure can be a bit better and a bit more amenities
Room was very clean and comfortable, overlooking the quay running up to the Custom House, and it was quiet at night. The bathroom had modern fittings and everything you needed. We had shared tapas for our evening meal which was delicious. It is very convenient for the centre of town if you were attending a show or event.
Parking is an issue, which the website was up front about, a long walk with a suitcase if you find walking difficult and a nuisance if you forget something in your car. Blackout blinds would have been our preference, to cut out the street lighting. The radiators had been turned off on our arrival and we had to move furniture to turn the thermostats up, as the room was cold. An open bottle of water was left over from the previous guests. Not a huge choice of breakfast foods, probably due to small number of guests staying, no fruit juice offered and we had to go and find someone to take our hot food order. With a few tweaks this would have earned excellent scores all round.
Everything was lovely and good, the room, the breakfast, the location, it is beautiful
A great return visit, always welcomed. Great food, gin and a nights sleep!
It was very warm!
Bathroom needs updating. Breakfast was very poor, no full English available with the breakfast included as advertised.
The position overlooking the old harbour and river. The helpfulness of the staff. The fact that the restaurant is open every evening.
The parking.Last time we stayed ,we ended up being fined .This time the pay and display refused to accept cash and the parking app wouldn’t download onto neither my phone nor my tablet.Eventually the hotel reception helped with the download of the parking app, but only upon accessing the hotels wi-fi.Why can’t the hotel provide some off street parking or come to some arrangement with the council ? The breakfast was poor.Poor choice, poor quality (Homepride white bread for toast) and only some sausage and bacon as the hot part of the meal.At 10am the hotel provides a proper breakfast choice for outside visitors but this isn’t available to people staying at the hotel. There was also no hot food for vegetarians.
I had an early start , had to leave for a business meeting, so had only a very simple breakfast, but was aware of the 'spread' availability of more, so next time.
The seagulls were looking after their young, so very noisy most of the night! But that's the difference between City and Seaside, so ok.
The only savings grace was the staff who were all very friendly and helpful. However, the place needs proper managing and some refurbishment.
Too many issues... 1. Only parking is on parking meters 2. Initial room I was allocated was a nice room but stank of marijuana. We were offered another room but it was not as good and had no shower. 3 the bath in the new room ran ice cold after a while. 4. The phone has no option to call reception (I had to keep going up and down the 3 floors to report problems.) 5. Although I had purchased a 'good breakfast '. The first thing I was told on sitting down was there was no option of a full English unless I waited until 10am and paid extra. After complaining we were given the option of a proper breakfast. 6. Carpets were dirty in the hallway and in our room nailed down with exposed nails. 7. The place desperately needs refurbishment.
Lovely
Nothing
Beautiful location with a great view on the river and docks.
Amenities where ample, yes we where there on Christmas day. reception bar and restaurant was closed. which was to be expected. Sadly though breakfast was only available for one hour. during this hour there was no self service where one could get some cold cuts scrambled or even boiled eggs. just a few slices of toast and a pastry was provided.
Lovely old hotel with lots of character in a lovely setting.
Our room was very cold
