Beautiful building.
Location
No lift
Very comfortable night,
No lift as have an injury at the moment.
Good location
Bit noisy outside with windows open
Great location. Spacious. Clean. Nice building Nice decor.
All lovely except coffee pod machine in room but no coffee pods available in room.
Beautiful decor
Continental breakfast and breakfast room a bit snug
The hotel was lovely, well kept, clean and the perfect location for graduation, avoids Steep Hill.
The property itself was lovely. We would prefer more options at breakfast though.
Lovely smaller type hotel. Nicely decorated.
Nothing.
Mooi pand, mooie kamer en super lokatie
Eigenlijk niets
Everything
Breakfast is lacking with no hot option for the price.
Lovely location, overlooking the back entrance of Lincoln castle, ideal for graduation ceremonies in the cathedral. There’s a very large public car park next to the hotel. A coffee shop and restaurant opposite and several pubs to the side. Added to which it’s about 5 minutes to the nearest by shops and restaurants between the castle and cathedral. If you want the main town it’s a 5 minute walk down Steep Hill (yes it is steep!) The hotel is being renovated and each time we visit they’ve done a little more, so we can’t wait to see the finished product.
Nothing really, although you will get woken up fairly early by the pub near by having their bottles collected for recycling!
Location for our daughter's graduation, right by castle/cathedral. Great 2 bed apartment, loads if space. Quality fittings, huge shower head! Good coffee making facilities.
Couldnt be helped by hotel but lorry noise in car park in middle of night made for a resless night. Bed was a little hard and sash window banged in the breeze.

Shabby Sink sealant mouldy
A lovely old property with bags of character. In a great location near Lincoln castle and the cathedral. Very welcoming staff and a super clean room.
Didnt like the extra costs which would have resulted in us booking another hotel. Didn’t like the payment for 24 hours parking (£10.20). The machine really didn’t like contactless payments and we spent 20 minutes trying to pay. By the way, if you use the parking app it will charge you an extra £1 for the privilege. The real disappointment was breakfast. When booking it says breakfast is included on the price but in reality it is only continental that is included. If you want hot food you have to pay extra (£12.5) for a full English. We wouldn’t have booked Charlotte Hose if the description had been accurate.
Great location
Nothing
The location was perfect for the Castle and Cathedral. Staff were friendly. Room was a good size with a great en-suite. Breakfast was included.
The stairs to the second floor. It’s a public car park. I paid £10 for 24 hours.
The location was perfect, the character of the building and its history was a charm. Downstairs was decorated beautifully.
The breakfast room is a little small, our room was tired and had noticeable repairs looks like a leak maybe.
We came to steampunk. Very close to the castle. Staff were amazing!
No lift!!
Lovely location, comfortable bed - great shower
Breakfast room was a bit small
I liked this interesting building which has an excellent location just opposite the Castle. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were nice and the shower was great.
Noise from the pub opposite until 3 am (!) over a popular bank holiday, hopefully this is not the norm. No lift, got very puffed having to make endless trips to get all our steampunk gear to our room. Also, no dedicated parking drop off place for your cases. I would have liked a chair in my room, I felt there was enough space for one.
In a fabulous location, close to the Castle & Cathedral! Comfortable bed, good bed linen & towels Beautiful bar & lounge area
The hotel is being renovated, some rooms have been completed. We had an upgrade which gave us a sitting area as well as the large en-suite. But it seemed old fashioned & in need of an update The breakfast was continental, which was good, but running short on available food by the time we sat down at 9.00am. The bar was closed at 9.00pm, which was such a disappointment, we would have loved to sit in the beautiful lounge area to enjoy a drink after our evening out.
Brilliant location, wonderful character building.
Our room was located near the Victoria pub that does live music so was noisey. Only until 11pm though.
Comfortable bed and good shower.
Breakfast limited to continental only
Great central position, very good staff. Fantastic shower and comfortable bed.
Not the hotel's fault but there was a good deal of noise from street, particularly the pub across the road. Intrusive noise from other guests also, slamming doors, banging around upstairs. The hotel is a bit tired but frankly, this was expected and at its price level, good value.
It was decorated nice. The rooms were nice. The mattresses were comfy and so was the pillows.
The breakfast area was very small and you felt like you were squashed in and not very comfortable chairs I think a lot of people felt the same . Disturbed sleep from the plants being watered unsure if it was the council or a contractor with a machine going to feed the hose pipe for 20 minutes and that went onto 11:30 at night Wednesday evening. 26 August . Then you had which sounded like bins being emptied at 4:20 in the morning. I think this was probably the Council so it was really unreasonable because it was right outside the hotel so not much sleep. I think it’s not appropriate to water flowers at 11:30 at night and at 4:30 AM to have the bins collected
Plenty of choice and easy to serve yourself our grandson woke early when he heard a door bang loudly no lock on bathroom door which we found strange.
Bathroom door should have had a lock on it .
Location and staff were great
Rooms comfortable and nicely furnished. New carpet wouldn’t go a miss.
Next to the castle
I had to pay to parking my car, cost me £28 for2 nights.
The location was great The bed was comfortable Staff were friendly and chatty Power shower Breakfast was nice Luggage storage
Dining room abit small but a good variety of continental breakfast.
It was a nice area
The room looked like it was 100 years old and the images on here did not give an accurate representation
Lovely hotel we have stayed before, great location...
Very noisy, pub right outside my window that played loud music late and the boiler or something seemed to come on at 6am, I was knackered...
Location
The loud music on the Saturday night from an outdoor dj, we were advised it would be done by 8pm, however it was 9pm
Everything was perfect!
Lovely room. Staff very friendly
Comfortable bed
Didn't think the rooms were 'deluxe suite'
Staff lovely and friendly Hotel clean and well.appointed for nightlife castle and cathredral And if you dare The Steep Hill into city centre Our bed was huge but was bridal suite
Nothing really

Its quiet location, easy parking facilities and comfort of the room.
A very small point but room on first floor, no help with luggage.
The location of this hotel is great - very near castle and cathedral and good restaurants. The breakfast is continental and normally we would book a hotel with more choices for breakfast but we enjoyed the breakfast and it was of good quality. Parking was not a problem although it is a public car park we could always find a space near where our room was situated if we had been out for the day.
Had to ring a bell at bar as staff were not always there but this was not a problem as there are several pubs nearby.
Very large room.
Great location. Lovely building
The breakfast was continental which is fine. But the meat on offer was salami and the like which is a bit spicy for breakfast.
Location right next to castle, nice continental breakfast
Only issue was finding the hotel as it’s not signposted on union road and is within The Lawn complex
The location
The old mattress, the lack of staff, no carpark so had to pay near £35 for two nights. The mould in the bathroom the black mould on the bath Matt the unclean floor no curtains the dust
Lovely room, good continental breakfast. Close to the castle and Cathedral.
Sehr zentrale Lage mit Parkplatz vor der Tür. Freundliches Personal, gutes Frühstück, geräumiges, freundliches Zimmer, großzügiges, modernes Badezimmer.
Lovely airy room to have breakfast in. Old building mixed with modern extension.
Selection was limited for me until we were leaving when a fresh batch of pastries turned up, a bit late for us.
Great and peaceful location and beautifully decorated rooms. Friendly staff.
Unable to open windows fully and no fan on hottest day of the year so a difficult sleep.
La vicinanza al centro
Servirebbe un po’ di manutenzione aggiuntiva
Excellent, beautiful location. Great value.
Excellent location for Castle, Cathedral and shops.
It had a make over in 2024 and you can see that the money was spent in the common areas. Very nice art deco. However. The bedroom we occupied looked sad and outdated. Stained carpet. Mould around shower and sink. No USB ports.
Konum, oda, büyüklük güzeldi
Kahvaltı çok yetersizdi
Excellent location. Rooms were lovely.
Cooked breakfast not included.
First time staying here but will definitely stay again. Fantastic location. Great bar. Great breakfast. Really comfortable bed. Great power shower. The decor is so beautiful the photos really don’t do it justice. Also had a drink from the bar on the beautiful terrace and can heartily recommend the cocktails on tap!!!
Nothing. Only having to leave to go home!!
Location
Poor breakfast poor selection didn't restock
Fantastic location next to Lincoln Castle
Position good to castle and town
Disappointed in the suite
Lovely hotel. Beautiful grounds with bar and cafes. Gorgeous decor inside the hotel. Very friendly staff on arrival. Breakfast was so nice in a sun filled room. Staff very attentive.
The rooms were great and the beds were comfy. The breakfast was nice. The staff were lovely. Unfortunately totally forgot to take photos of the hotel and breakfast but everything was so nice!
Character. Lovely floors and decor
Bit warm but there was a fan which was good
Staff were very friendly.
Large size rooms very clean good location very good value for money.
Nothing
Great location. V clean. Good sized room/suite.
Effectively this is a B&B/event venue. Not a hotel. Only continental breakfast, with limited choice, available as part of the price. A cooked breakfast can be delivered from across the road by the associated cafe, at extra cost - but was luke warm on arrival. We also couldn't access the bar one day due to a private function, and we were advised of this function 3 days before we arrived, despite this being a wedding which should have been notified at the time of booking. Horrendously loud music until 23.30 that night.
Fabulous location 👌
The furniture was nice and appropriately sized for the room, bedding was remade and room tidied/cleaned the second day. Absolutely lovely bathroom and shower. Safe and secure location and hotel systems. We had the windows open and left them open overnight and when out - something I don't always do in a hotel. Some noise on Sunday night of adults walking through the courtyard area on their way early morning hours - can see this being regular due to location and outdoor seating below some room windows. Breakfast was a nice selection of bread, cereal, fruit and yogurt with the option to buy a cooked breakfast. We chose a time for both days when we checked in and were told it's flexible, this is just a guide time, which reassured me there would be space for us in the breakfast room on our way down. Location was 10/10 - right where you'd want to be to experience Lincoln. £10.50 for 24 hours in the car park which surrounds the building.
The lady who checked us in, although chatty and friendly, was uncertain if the door code past 9pm would be the same both days - quite important when we are guests for 2 nights. She was also working alone and had to leave check-in to tell the guests at the bar that she would serve them after checking in the 2 waiting groups - taking time guests could have been checked in. She was nice but the working systems added a little chaos/ uncertainty I've not often experienced checking in at a hotel before.
Lokatie super, parkeren makkelijk en een waanzinnige lekkere douche.
Ontbijt, erg sober
The hotel was in the cathedral quarter . Which was perfect for us. Our bed was comfortable.
Not a lot of choice at breakfast. No aircon in a very hot suite. Broken blinds. Very dated hotel . They supplied a very small fan in room that was too noisy to have on and sleep. No restaurent for evening meal. But plenty of places to eat in evening a short walk away.
Good
See
Great location near the Castle and Cathedral with seating area outside to watch the world go by in a pedestrian area. I recommend the Tapas restaurant directly opposite! Room had a lovely independent feel about it and suite with separate day room and real difference. I’d definitely recommend.
A picture on the wall opposite the bed! Modern art but the woman’s ‘face’ gave me the heebies!!!
Clean, spacious, friendly staff and comfortable room. Great location
breakfast was a continental style but possible to upgrade to cooked option if required
Great location great rooms
Location, spacious, staff, comfortable beds, beside paid car park with EV chargers
The doors were so heavy and the auto close was very noisy. There was no lift.
Location , staff and lovely building Parking right next to the hotel
Only downside was no lift as wife struggles with stairs Nothing else to dislike
Great rooms really comfy beds , very clean and staff were excellent. Fantastic continental breakfast. Fantastic location with an restaurants surrounding the property and loads of bars close by. Felt like we're were abroad
Excellent location, super friendly and helpful staff
Good location as we expected from Google maps and chacking out the car parking.
The deluxe room called I think Marston did not have a bath as advertised. There were no surfaces in the shower room for a small bag for shaving and other necessities. However the fittings in the bathroom were very good. The big issue for us that lets this conversion down, is the noisy heavy doors on the shower room and seperate sitting room which should have been replaced by lighter smaller doors. The whole suite has the effect of a cell with high windows, which it probably was before the conversion from nurses and patients accommodation. The owners need to upgrade the doors and windows. However the rooms and breakfast were good value.
Absolutely beautiful home with an amazing history. Located in a unique private estate with a large Georgian manor and Charlotte House a smaller Georgian manor (only in comparison to the first). The estate has a fascinating and unique history, where it pioneered new ways of thinking. It’s extraordinarily peaceful and Stokes have done a wonderful job of honouring past and transporting the estate to the present. Will definitely be travelling half way around the way to stay again.
Nothing it was awesome
Ideal setting in centre of old town
Only the hall light stays green all night and my wife is a light sleeper and likes the room dark
Location
Room very warm at night. Limited staff available during the evening and breakfast time.
Loved our room. Also appreciated the heads up fron the staff letting us know there would be a party going on.
I cant say there was anything that i didn't like
Everything at this hotel spot a gem
Breakfast only continental
We arrived at the hotel and the person on the desk was lovely, got given a map etc. gorgeous clean rooms with decent tea and coffee. Rooms cleaned daily. We loved it. Loved the breakfast area etc
We liked everything
Spacious accommodation. Excellent location. Friendly staff. Good value for money.

Loved the location, the hotel was above expectations
Nothing
Great location, huge bedroom, nice staff
Continental breakfast was modest
EXCELLENT location. Great Council run 24hr parking next-door to the hotel. Very friendly staff. Free WiFi. Lovely big rooms (I stayed in a superior double room, it had a small lounge with tv and sofa, separate bedroom and big shower. It was clean and comfortable. Plenty of pubs nearby. Definitely recommend staying here.
There didn't appear to be lifts in the hotel. It's at the top of Steep Hill so if you're not fit it's a steep walk back to the hotel. That's the only consideration I would think about.
Great location, lovely hotel the breakfast was basic but good, only down side very noisy till late at night .
There was a speaker for music attached to the wall outside under the room so the music could be heard till late at night .
The hotel is well situated in the cathedral Quarter easy walking distance to all the sights plus the town centre. Very clean and comfortable with friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is continental with a large variety of meats cheese and cereals and you can have as much as you like .
I didn't dislike anything about my stay there.
Great Location- just on the back of the castle, friendly staff and an amazing room. Also local council car park is also available next to the hotel

Loved the building - new decorations are beautiful
Location was excellent, rooms are spacious, nice little bar in the property and plenty of parking.
Breakfast was little lacking, room was very warm (heat wave) not easy to get it cool.
Great location near castle and 5 minutes walk to the Cathedral. Parking very close.
Great location Beautiful suite Comfortable bed Great bathroom Gorgeous continental breakfast
Need firmer pillows. Very soft had to double them over ( but that's personal choice)
Lovely staff, great location, clean and spacious room. Nice patio area outside to sit and enjoy a drink
It was very hot when we visited and air on would have been a bonus.
Lovely sized room. Comfy bed and great bathroom. Outside bar area was a big bonus with the weather being so hot.
The room was unbearably hot with only a small fan provided in the room. Unsightly stains on the carpet.
Spacious, clean, helpful staff and good location
Great location For concert at the castle Room was perfect for 2 couples large and comfortable
Would have loved a full English 😅
