Kotatuli Forest Lodge

Asukoht oli väga hea, võrratu loodus ümberringi, peremees võttis meid vastu ja tutvustas majutust. Tuba oli üsna pisike, aga kõik vajalik oli olemas. Voodid mugavad. Lapselapsele meeldisid pere koerad. Peremees pakkus hommikusöögi ja see oli väga hea, eriti maitsev oli puder.

Infot ei olnud selle kohta, et pesuruumi tuleb jagada pererahvaga, see tekitas veidi ebamugavust.

Die Lodge liegt sehr abgelegen mitten im Wald. Man genießt die Ruhe. Die Besitzer sind sehr nett und geben sich große Mühe. Das Frühstück ist sehr reichhaltig. Wir hatten das Familienzimmer so das wir in der oberen Etage die Gemütlichkeit genossen haben. Es ist alles da was man braucht . Die Vermieter sind sehr zuvorkommend und die Hunde sind ein Traum. Wer Tiere und Natur liebt ist hier auf alle Fälle richtig.

Erittäin ystävälliset isännät. Tosi kotoisa ja tunnelmallinen paikka. Lapset tykkäsivät eläimistä ja koirat super kilttejä. Kiitos ❤️

Amamos este lugar!! Ellos son excelentes, y sus perros y caballos hermosos. Solo nos quedamos una noche pero pudimos hacer caminatas, experimentar un real sauna finlandés y tirarnos al lago congelado, la comida exquisita. Volveriamos sin duda, lo pasamos hermoso. Gracias en especial a Joni y Carita☺️☺️

Very cozy and friendly atmosphere in the middle of the forest

We had an absolutely wonderful stay and enjoyed every moment of it! The place is beautiful, cozy, and truly special, and we felt so relaxed and happy throughout our stay. Above all, we are incredibly grateful to Juni and Katya, who were so kind, thoughtful, and welcoming - they made our stay even more enjoyable and memorable. We would be absolutely delighted to come back again! P.S. You absolutely must try the sauna and the dip in the icy lake - such an amazing experience!

Excellent court séjour (1 nuit) dans ce petit chalet au milieu de la forêt Accueil très sympa (encore mille mercis pour la bouteille de vin pour notre lune de miel) Nous étions ravis d'avoir notre intimité en étant seuls au milieu de la forêt (à 2mn de marche de l'habitation principale) Aurores boréales magnifiques au-dessus du lac à proximité immédiate Petit chalet ultra cosy avec l'équipement nécessaire pour pouvoir cuisiner un peu ; lit très confortable et poêle bien apprécié (par contre éteignez le chauffage si vous allumez le poêle, nous avons eu très chaud !) Place de parking Petit-déjeuner excellent dans l'habitation principale avec les hôtes et les autres guests

Le bruit du chauffage/bloc de clim : nous avons eu du mal à dormir car il a fait beaucoup de bruit (mais nous retenons plutôt les aspects positifs de notre séjour !)

👤あたたかいスタッフ 親切で優しい人たちでした。朝食や夕飯は一緒の食卓でご飯を食べ、いろいろなことを教えていただけました。現地の人といろいろお話ししたい人には向いています。 🐎ツアー 乗馬ツアーに参加しました。雪が降り積もった丘の道なき道を進む経験は貴重でした。平和で静かな美しい景色が続き感動の連続でした。予想以上に乗馬は体力(体幹)が必要なことがわかりました。このツアーに参加して本当に良かったです。 🏠施設 犬が家の中にいるので犬のアレルギーがある方には向いていないと思います。個人的には清潔に感じ、衛生面で困ることはなかったです。サウナも最高の経験になりました。湖の水風呂前でクールダウンしている最中に空を見上げてオーロラと星空を見たことは忘れられません。 🌲ロケーション 最高でした。街から遠く離れて自然の中で過ごしてみたい人にはぴったりです。小屋の目の前に湖があり開けた景色が楽しめます。オーロラも見れました。とても平和でした。

Nous avons passé une semaine entière fin janvier dans la double room du chalet. Ce fut une semaine plutôt parfaite. Nous avons été chanceux avec la météo mais le lieu se suffit vraiment à lui-même. Le sentiment d'être au milieu de nulle part, en pleine nature avec des hôtes d'une grande gentillesse. A l'extérieur vous avez la forêt à perte de vue avec de superbes randonnées, un lac gelé qui offre aussi une chouette randonnée vers l'île qui se trouve en plein milieu (le panorama au milieu du lac avec les couleurs rosées du ciel est juste dingue), une écurie avec des chevaux, une hutte traditionnelle pour dîner ou jouer autour d'un petit feu, un sauna et un bain glacé naturel ! A l'intérieur, nous avons adoré nous poser dans le grand salon pour profiter des 3 adorables chiens pas avares de caresses, lire ou échanger avec les hôtes et les autres voyageurs. La cuisine a tout le nécessaire pour se faire de bons petits repas et la table à manger conviviale permet de les partager avec tout le monde devant la cheminée. Et nous nous sommes super bien senti dans notre petite chambre cosy. Nous avons eu la chance d'observer de magnifiques aurores sur place, inoubliable. Randonner avec les chiens fut aussi un vrai régal. Merci à Katja, Joni, Karita, Jani, Vera et Esther pour votre accueil chaleureux et votre gentillesse. Merci à Ringo, Thanos et Hemmo pour les courses poursuite et les caresses au coin du feu. L'expérience qui est proposée au Kotatuli lodge est à part et elle mérite de se vivre sur plusieurs jours en prenant le temps d'apprécier la nature environnante.

Logements "perdu" dans la forêt, au calme. Promenade dans la forêt facile d'accès. Déjeuner très bon. Expérience sauna + aller dans le lac/la neige la nuit tombée était super.

We stayed in the "glamping" cottage with two people last month, and I so wish we'd had the time for more than a night! The area surrounding Kotatuli Forest Lodge is stunning and quiet. We booked an excursion on horseback as we're both experienced riders, and it was absolutely magical to experience the forest in deep snow. We came to Rovaniemi for the nature, not the Christmas kitsch, so this place was exactly what we were looking for. The cottage was cozy, warm, and perfectly private. We covered our own dinner in the main house, which was absolutely no problem. The dogs were great cuddle buddies and there was plenty of space in the common area for us alongside the other guests and staff working the property. The cottage itself had everything needed to cover our comforts for the night, and probably even a longer stay if our itinary had allowed for it. I'm very tempted to book this again for a better shot at the aurora - it was overcast all week, but we did catch a glimpse on our trainride back to Helsinki! - or to see the area in summer.

We were looking for silence and nature, but we found so much more! A fairytale-like landscape and wonderful people made us fall in love with and truly appreciate the real Lapland. Joni and Katja are truly special people, and the love they have for their home and your animals can be felt from the very moment you arrive. Everything was perfect from beginning to the end: an authentic and immersive experience that we will hardly ever forget. Sauna and activities are amazing. We loved everything.

Die Familie ist sehr herzlich, die Forest Lodge hat eine sehr tolle Lage, wir konnten sogar die Polarlichter aus dem Bett sehen🩵 sollten wir nochmal nach Finnland kommen werden wir auf jeden Fall nochmal nach Kotatuli reisen 🩵

Wat een fantastische locatie. De meest sterrenrijke hemel die ik ooit gezien heb! De honden zijn ook echt een meerwaarde aangezien ze zo knuffelachtig zijn en zelfs 's avonds mee buiten gingen en ons "rondleidden" door ons te tonen waar de kota was om op te warmen/marshmallows of worsten op te grillen. Heel huiselijk en aangenaam ook om met verschillende mensen te kunnen praten.

We vertrokken om 7 uur 's morgens naar de luchthaven en kregen normaal ontbijt om mee te nemen. Aangezien er meer volk was dan anders (er was familie op bezoek), denk ik dat ze het vergeten waren. Ze hebben zich hiervoor wel verontschuldigd.

L'endroit était sublime ! Ce Lodge fut un des meilleurs endroits de notre séjour en Laponie. Le personnel et les propriétaires des lieux ont été adorables avec nous. Nous avons rencontrés de belles personnes et avons participé à des expériences uniques (Ice Fishing, snowmobile, aurores boréales sur le lac gelé). Nous sommes sûrs que si nous revenons en Laponie, nous repasserons par ce Lodge et nous y resterons plus qu'un jour.

Rien à dire ! Car tout était parfait à nos yeux.

Alojamiento increíble, la familia que lo regenta es de lo mejor que hay, muy atentos y amables. El sitio es inmejorable con una sauna a orillas del rio tradicional que supera todas las expectativas. El desayuno buenísimo. Lo recomiendo a todo el mundo! Tienen dos perros muy cariñosos que hacen aun mejor la estancia.

La ubicación remota y la familia y empleados. Nos hicieron sentir parte de la familia y tener una experiencia física finlandesa completa. Estar en la naturaleza ha sido increíble. Ah, los perros son maravillosos y la sauna. Son demasiados puntos increíbles.

Przytulny pokój z dala od świata, blisko natury. Pokój komfortowy, ładnie urządzony. Okolica wyjątkowa. Gospodarze mili, otwarci, ale też nienarzucający się.

Kotatuli est vraiment le logement que je recommande si vous aimez la nature, échanger avec des locaux et si vous aimez les animaux. Nous avons adoré notre séjour, le personne est formidable, l’emplacement a 1:30 de Rovaniemi, au bord d’un lac gelé en hiver et en plein milieu d’une forêt. Les voisins les plus proches sont à 11km, alors vraiment le paradis en Laponie. Merci à toutes les personnes pour leurs petites attentions, nous étions loger dans la cabane au fond dans le jardin, et vraiment c’était super, nous recommencerons sans hésiter. Le petit déjeuner avec des choses traditionnelles, vraiment top. Un Kota, un sauna et possibilité de se baigner dans le lac gelé.

Besonders gut hat uns die abgeschiedene Lage am See gefallen, wo man auch gut die Polarlichter sehen konnte. Trotz des sehr kalten Wetters war es in unserer Hütte sehr komfortabel und gemütlich.

I travel the world and this offgrid farmhouse was hands down my favorite stay! From the kindness and communication of the owner and groundsmen, to the charming rustic simplicity of the home. You can tell they enjoy hosting this amazing bed and breakfast. The breakfast was delicious with an abundance of chives. The private onsite cabin I booked had huge windows allowing me to witness a beautiful heavy snowfall at 3am. The dogs and horses were adorable too! The big selling point for me was the add-on cute lakeside shack with sauna and candlelit access into the natural cold plunge on the frozen lake. It was perfect in every way!💕

I can’t think of anything for improvement really-just some people may not like the drive being a bit out of the way….but the paradise that awaits is totally worth the drive-even on the snow packed roads. I had no trouble at all, but still took it slow.

Es ist so schön ruhig gewesen, tolle Lage. Die Gastgeber waren super lieb. Man wurde nicht wie in einem Hotel behandelt, sondern wie ein Mitbewohner. Es gab ein gemeinsames Frühstück. Sauna konnte auch benutzt werden Ganz klare Empfehlung!

Environnement exceptionnel en pleine nature, hébergement original et exceptionnel dans une tiny house en pleine forêt, super expérience à vivre! Le chalet principal est charmant et authentique. La forêt et le lac et les infrastructures (sauna) mettent tout de suite dans l’ambiance finlandaise. Les hôtes sont charmants, accueillants et je vous conseille d’y dîner et d’y prendre le petit déjeuner, nous nous sommes régalés 😋🤨. Nous avons tout aimé même si nous avons eu -35 degrés. La tiny house était bien chauffée avec le poêle. Nous avons eu un problème d’arrivée d’eau avec le froid extrême qui a été réglé par le propriétaire le matin. Il a été très réactif et d’une telle gentillesse

Il bagno in comune: anche se era ben specificato non era chiaro che proprio tutti ( compreso staff) usassero lo stesso bagno. La camera fredda riscaldata solo con una stufetta a gas giorno e notte dove l'aria diventava irrespirabile.

A great experience in Lapland with a very local feel. The hosts were kind, reliable, and welcoming. The private tour was amazing—definitely try the Finnish sauna!

Die Lage des Chalets mitten im Wald und am See, weit und breit niemand. Bequeme Betten. Ausstattung in Ordnung. Die Angestellten waren sehr nett.

Holzofen zum selber einheizen, kamen bei -27 Grad in einen kalten Container. Feuer war unmöglich zu machen für uns, baten die Angestellten darum, ließen uns sehr lange warten. Kamen nach 5 Stunden in das halbwegs warme Chalet. Außerdem funktionierte keine Wasser im Chalet. Darum wurde sich allerdings sofort gekümmert, konnte aber auch nicht gelöst werden, bekamen einen Wasserkanister. Allerdings war kein Duschen möglich und das Verwenden des Klos auch sehr mühsam. Ärgerlich war die lange Wartezeit (knappe 5 Stunden) und dass von den Eigentümern keine Anzeichen einer Entschuldigung oder eines Entgegenkommens gekommen sind.

They were very kind and always willing to help. It's on the outskirts of Rovaniemi, but they offer a shuttle service if you can't rent a car. The cabin was beautiful, the room very cozy, and the bed comfortable. The horseback riding experience was fantastic. Heidi was very patient and always explained how to do it. The sauna experience was interesting, first very hot and then very cold 😅 ... I loved my stay. I'll be back next year with my friends.

Our previous accommodation canceled on us and we luckily found a last minute booking with kotatuli. They were all so accommodating. We loved everything about kotatuli wish we could have stayed longer.

Un endroit cosy et magnifique, au calme loin de l'affluence de Rovaniemi, un vrai havre de paix chaleureux avec des hôtes super sympas et attentionnés. La balade à cheval dans la neige au milieu de rien était un moment hors du temps.

Die Herzlichkeit alle Menschen dort war sehr groß. Ein perfekter Ort und gleichermaßen etwas zu erleben und zu relaxen. Das Essen war lecker, alles war sehr unkompliziert und es wurde Wert darauf gelegt, dass wir einen wunderschönen Urlaub haben können.

Personale veramente cortese. Chalet stupendo, perfetto per chi vuole trascorrere una giornata in pieno relax lontano dalla confusione. La vetrata posta davanti al letto ci ha permesso inoltre di poter osservare l'aurora boreale direttamente da dentro, rimanendo al caldo. È presente anche una stufa a legna oltre il condizionatore che ci ha tenuto al calduccio per tutta la notte.

The first impression when you come into the house. Family sits at the dining table. Everybody there and also 3 large dogs are welcoming you. Immediate sense as of coming to close friends. :)

Una casa de ensueño en mitad del bosque. La habitacion es tal cual se describe y muy comoda. El resto de zonas comunes son compartidas pero estan en excelente condiciones. Ademas, los propietarios te dan conversacion y se preocupan por hacer que te sientas lo mas cómodo posible. En cuanto al desayuno que te incluyen está increible y muy completo y, por ser Navidad, nos dieron la opcion de cenar (por un precio adicional). Por ultimo, la ubicación hace que sea un lugar excepcional para ver auroras sin tener que irte muy lejos.

Nada en general, aunque puede hacerse un poco largo el viaje cada vez que quieres salir de la casa (~1h en coche hasta Rovaniemi). Otra cosa, es que las chimeneas de leña estan en el salon y la habitación puede sentirse algo fria en invierno sobretodo pero con las mantas se esta bien.

A truly authentic finnish cabin experience shared with Nico and his team. From the home cooked reindeer dinner to the sauna and ice lake dip everything’s perfect and an experience we could have only dreamed of finding. The dogs are so friendly and loving, especially Hemmo! We also did the snowmobile and ice fishing experience with Yianni which was amazing and he was great company! Thank you so much for a once in a lifetime experience.

We went in December, and it was wonderful. The house is very cozy and warm, and it is placed in a idyllic setting, near a frozen lake. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful, and we felt very welcome there. Their dogs are very friendly and playful, and they also have horses. We also had a barbecue in the kota and we used the sauna (complete with ice dipping). Even though it was very cold outside, it was always warm inside, and the atmosphere was very relaxing. We truly recommend this place for a very authentic winter visit.

Un séjour magique. Nous avons profité de l’endroit calme, en pleine nature, c’est ce qu’on voulait ! On a pu faire une activité motoneige et pêche sous glace, une excursion privatisée, on se sent très privilégié. Les hôtes sont d’une profonde gentillesse et très serviables. Nous avons pu observer des aurores boréales et se promener autour de la maison. Les trois chiens sont adorables. Le logement est super beau, cosi et la cuisine est libre d’accès. Je vous conseille de faire des courses avant de venir, vous pouvez vous service de la cuisine car il n’y a rien au alentour ! Super expérience, je recommande 100 fois, un lieu d’exception.

We had an amazing 4-night stay at Kotatuli Forest Lodge as a family of three (with a 6-year-old), and it was truly unforgettable. The lodge is incredibly cozy and traditional, exactly what you dream of when visiting Lapland. We loved every activity we tried — from horse riding to the traditional Finnish sauna and even ice fishing! One of the most magical moments was experiencing the Northern Lights right from our bed. Absolutely surreal. The owners and everyone working there are genuinely wonderful people — kind, attentive, and always willing to help. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and wholeheartedly recommend Kotatuli Forest Lodge to anyone looking for an authentic and memorable Lapland experience.

Our rating for this wonderful house and its people is 1000/10. It was one of the best experiences we’ve ever had — a traditional house in the forest, in a beautiful location with absolute tranquility and such sweet animals. We truly enjoyed every moment. The whole Kotatuli team made us feel completely at home. The atmosphere was so warm, and the breakfast was amazing! From our window we could see the beautiful horses. Everything was clean. It’s also very easy to find, as the GPS directions are very clear. One day we will return for a longer stay. Thank you! you are all wonderful!

Me encantó alojarme en Kotatuli, estar accesible pero lo necesariamente alejado de Rovamieni me encantó. El alojamiento para amantes de lo auténtico, cuidado y la naturaleza es excelente. La amabilidad del personal y sentirme unos días parte de su hogar sería lo que más me ha gustado y a mi hija los perritos. El enclave, la casita con la barbacoa, el lago, las vistas y la sauna son de 10!!!volveremos

The location in the middle of nowhere was great! There is a lake nearby and the porch offers a great place to sit and enjoy the northern lights if there are no clouds. The family who runs the place are really nice people, easy to talk to, patient and Joni made sure the dogs got used to us and we felt comfortable around them. He also prepared an amazing breakfast for us even though we were the only guests on that day. Thanks! It was a new experience for us to sorta be part of the family, share their living room, kitchen and bathroom, but it worked really well.

In the beginning the road that leads to the house was quite adventurous and we didn't know if it would really lead somewhere. Also the fact that the dogs were kept on a fenced porch part just outside our bedroom door felt strange at first. They were really quiet though and it was no problem in the end.

In absoluter Ruhe und in Harmonie. Wir haben eine Nacht während unserer Skandinavienreise hier verbracht und wurden herzlich empfangen und mit einem schönen Abendessen verwöhnt. Wir waren im August dort und zu unserem Zeitpunkt die einzigste Gäste. Der überwiegende Teil der Gäste kommt im Herbst und Winter. Und dann ,wenn alle am Tisch zusammen sind und essen ,kommt auch dieses heimelige Gefühl wovon in den anderen Bewertungen die Rede ist. Gut geschlafen und nach einen super Frühstück verlassen wir dieses Ort und empfehlen in gerne weiter . Wir wünschen alles Gute und weiterhin viele nette Gäste.
