Location beautiful. Upgraded which was a lovely surprise as it was my husbands birthday. Food amazing staff so nice 2 lads in the bar sorry forgot their names but were lovely to be honest all staff were really nice 👍

Scenic and quiet yet close to restaurants/shops.

A stunning idyllic country house within an outstanding landscape. Beautifully decorated with all the period pieces and finishes which give it that extra special charm- the fireplaces are amazingly inviting and the guest areas are nicely laid out and comfortable. The Staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming- making you feel at home and well looked after. There is such a lovely relaxed atmosphere you really feel the warmth and coziness of the place. The food was wonderful and presented with care and style! The best pancotta I have ever eaten!

Lovely anniversary night at this quiet little haven of calm a few minutes out of Windermere-Broadacres has a quirky liitte charm of its own which we loved Staff friendly and polite-especially Jake and also Laurence the chef( lovely plaice sir)-dinner was excellent even on a very quiet night we were not rushed at all The suite we stayed in was clean and at last a proper powerful shower! Happily stay here again

Hard to say!-maybe a mini fridge would be useful?-stairs to suite lit a little more but im just being picky!-

Fabulous hotel, lovely warm welcome when checking in, accommodation amazing staying in Rippledean Lodge. Set away from the main building on the edge of a wooded valley and the water fall in the valley which could hear from the lodge. It was beautifully furninshed, comfy bed and well equipped with a great big spa bath/ shower. Outside seating area. Breakfast was great, lots of choice from the hot cooked order menu or buffet breakfast and continental. All the staff we meet where friendly and house keeping very attentive. Excellent connection to the local roads and Lake District areas. Would recommend and definitely be back in the future.

I died and went to heaven staying here. If your looking for a romantic beautiful hotel then this is it. The grounds are gorgeous and the room was amazing with a huge step in jaccuzi bath. I didn’t want to go home. Staff were also amazing and helpful.

First impressions are the drive into this beautiful hotel. You are then greeted by Taran or Fran. Both happy, smiley people who make you feel so welcome! We were given keys to our room, which was clean, tidy & fresh. The view from this hotel is stunning! Its peaceful, quiet & very tranquil. Breakfast every morning was hot & fresh, there are plenty of options & we tried it all, loved it! A mention to Mikey who we had a great time talking with. Taran & Fran gave friendly advise on which local areas are good to check out. From their recommendations, me & my partner had an amazing few days away! Highly recommend staying at this beautiful place, with the best staff i’ve ever encountered

The location is excellent and beautiful setting.

The food was disappointing. The worst of it was being served gone off oat milk at breakfast for my baby and I, resulting in a sleepless night. A lot of the staff seemed new to hospitality.

Fantastic experience for the price, location is stunning and the lodge we were in (Rippledean) was lovely. Corner jacuzzi bath a nice addition! Food was delicious as well, all round 10/10 stay in a wonderful part of the Lake District.

I reseved a room with Spa tub,but I was given a room without a Spa tub, three days talking to the reception to change the room but they did nothing. They are totally not cooperative. Nothing luxury as a five star hotel ! The toilet was small ,the washing basin in the toilet was very tiny as if it was for children! Couldn’t brush or wash without spraying water on floor , it doesn’t fit two hands!! Strange for five star hotel . no fridge, no bath robes , no slippers , the hair dryer was small folding one , No view for the lake. This hotel is far from the lake.

We arrived early and they were very accommodating, we had booked an afternoon tea which was fantastic and we even had a visitor in the form of a Robin....all in all an excellent quality hotel.

The bath needs a handle to assist getting in and out. Point passed on to the hotel .

Staff are so helpful. The site is absolutely beautiful and the night time view is gorgeous with all the lights.

Not enough mirrors in our little Folly cabin (3 sisters for two evenings!) we need more mirrors haha But the receptionist helped which was so lovely.

The place itself is beautiful, lovely grounds and room ‘Yew’ was perfect for my birthday getaway, we had afternoon tea which was delicious, the staff are great very friendly and attentive, it’s spotlessly clean and I recommend it highly to anyone, what a fantastic stay and a wonderful experience from start to finish.

Breakfast on second day. Staff didn’t appear to be looking after guests. Ran out of beans and sausages and staff never checked on this. Gave up in the end. Wasn’t alone as other guests went short too. Food great quality though . A shame as great chef and lovely place .

Beautiful spacious comfy room with lovely view. The staff made my partners birthday with a special birthday card, Prosecco & chocolate coated strawberries. (Special thank you to Taron, staff member) Breakfast was tasty & plentiful. We didn’t stay for dinner, but would definitely try next time. Location was great, quiet, peaceful & gorgeous views of countryside. Not far from Windermere & Ambleside easy to get to. Might try one of the lodges next time with our dog. Great stay, wonderful place & memories made. Broadoaks we will be back. Thank you 😊

We were upgraded - room was stunning as were the grounds. The staff were amazing-nothing was too much trouble. Location was great as were the hotel grounds. Breakfast was fab too. Do not hesitate to book-great value for money.

We absolutely loved our stay. The hotel is beautifully maintained and you can tell that every detail has been carefully thought through. Our room was stunning, tastefully refurbished, and felt luxurious while still being warm and welcoming. The restaurant was another highlight. The food was of an exceptionally high standard, and the atmosphere was wonderful. We especially appreciated the soft background music - it was elegant, never too loud, and created a truly relaxing ambience. The whole property has a genuine boutique feel that brings a real sense of peace and tranquillity. It was the perfect place to unwind, and we only wish we could have stayed longer.

There wasn’t really anything we didn’t like. The only thing future guests should be aware of is that the hotel is located a little outside Windermere, so you’ll need a car if you want to explore the village or the surrounding area. If you enjoy stretching your legs, we would definitely recommend walking up the hill towards the YHA hostel, where you’ll be rewarded with beautiful views. However, there aren’t many walking routes that start directly from the hotel itself, so it’s worth planning ahead if you enjoy longer walks.

Dark bedroom and dogs, which was disappointing as we chose this hotel because it stated dogs not allowed. This is an important consideration for me as I have an allergy to pet hair. When we arrived the hotel sign said Dog Friendly - not what we expected.

The approach road to the hotel is a narrow country lane. We met a wagon and had to reverse a long way to enable us to pass.

The staff were very friendly and helpful from the minute we walked in the door, to checking out time. They made our 1 night stay very nice and relaxing, and they made it special as it was our wedding anniversary and my birthday. The evening meal and breakfast were both exceptional. Really lovely food, fresh and cooked perfectly. The room was lovely and spacious, and it had everything we needed. The jacuzzi bath was a lovely addition. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds, very scenic and nice for a little wander after dinner. We loved our time here so much we have actually said that we will 100% be back again for another stay!!!

We found that we couldn't turn the temperature down in the shower, so the water was quite hot. However, that might have been us not being able to work the controls properly.

Beautiful country house in a breathtaking quiet location not far from Windermere, surrounded by well kept gardens. Friendly helpful staff and a snug but comfortable room, recently decorated. Beds were comfortable with high quality bed linen and great pillows. Bath towels, shampoo and soap were all top quality Good choice of freshly prepared food for breakfast.

The bathroom was very small indeed. Hardly room to move.

Beautiful location, helpful, polite and professional staff, comfy beds, great breakfast and rooms decorated in a modern way but with aesthetics that suit the age of the building. We stayed in the room that is situated above the main entrance with a view over then water fountain and down the drive. It was lovely listening to the water gently trickling and a wind in the trees.

The only two slight complaints are that on the particular day we checked in, it had been 30 degrees and the room unbearably hot, it would have been a good idea for the staff to open the windows for air flow prior to guest arrivals. The lighting was also very dim with some flickering bulbs, this could be addressed easily.

Extremely pleased with Broadoaks Boutique Country House. The Hotel and grounds were lovely, the room very clean, well appointed and very comfortable. The breakfast very good. Thoroughly enjoyed and would definitely return. The staff were very friendly and pleasant.

We booked Broadoaks as my hubby was competing in the Great North Swim and was close by. Room was lovely. Everything you need for an overnight stay and a fabulous shower. We paid for breakfast and were offered a "grab and go" bacon/sausage bun as it was an early start for us. Fantastic. We'll be back next year.

We arrived early before check in and spoke to the lady on reception. We had looked at the restaurant menu online and decided to go into the village. We were not aware of the guest menu for 4 courses including a bottle of wine as we would have booked a table when checking in

Comfortable cabin

My ‘room’ was a cabin at the bottom of the hotel driveway. No chef’s on site for dinner even though I had rung on booking to reserve a table Couldnt have any breakfast as chef doesn’t start work until 8am, unfortunately I had to leave to go to my own work for 7.45am. When I tried to explain to staff, I was told to use the corner bath jacuzzi and relax. I tried that and the jacuzzi function doesnt work - no bubbles for me! TV needs logins to Netflix, Iplayer, ITV X etc - without them, you can’t access anything. Couldn’t check out as main door to hotel was locked at 7.45am so I had no way of getting to hotel reception. I left the room key on the outside windowsill and hoped for the best! No idea what I’ve have done if there had been an emergency in the night, I didnt even know the hotel door was locked - yet I was placed at the bottom of the driveway. None of this information was available on booking, on the hotel website or booking.com

Lovely Hotel, good quality bedding and room, Nice breakfast.

Restuarant closed, no explanation was disappointing, We arrived at 2.45 so sat on terrace with a couple of other arrivals not expecting to check in until 3. No staff around, except there was one man, I assumed manager who made no attempt to engage or talk to anybody in fact ignore all of us was rude in my opinion. Not the gtreeting one usually gets in fact he hardly spoke when we saw him on reception the next day. Manners cost nothing, to be polite to guests is a fundamental part of hospitality surely. Thank fully the Girl that arrived on reception and the breakfast waiter were both engaging and very polite.

The location was absolutely brilliant, a great base for exploring the Lake District. The staff were brilliant - super helpful and very friendly. The breakfast was great. We stayed in one of the lodges which were away from the main hotel so very quiet and peaceful.

Our room was dated and there were some areas that could have been cleaned better - for example above the shower was some mould. The skylight in the bathroom didn’t have a blind and it let in a lot of light early morning.

There wasn't anything I didn't like but it would have been even better if there was a small coffee machine in the room instead of the instant sachets. Also at breakfast, would have preferred some more coffee options than just filter coffee. Continental was quite basic but great hot choice.
