Clean and friendly, helpful staff. Excellent breakfast

Comfortable and fair price
Parking was a pain
Great parking and location
Uncomfortable bed bedding was clean but bad fitting some staff very in friendly bathroom was very tired and not very clean
Location was nice and close to city and river walks.
Attentiveness of staff wasn’t always good. I arrived and noticed staff chatting to other guests in lounge. She noticed me, but when finished chatting she walked away … picked up a pen from the floor … took it out the back … went to the restaurant area and eventually returned to reception and asked me if she could help. Car park is too small for the hotel and the alternative locations are either inconvenient or expensive.
Location was ok staff were pleasant
Hotel needs updating bathrooms were old definitely needed doing paying extra for car parking
Ruhige, jedoch zentral die Lage und fantastischer Ausblick auf die Millennium Gateshead Bridge
Für uns war alles okay während des Aufenthalt
We liked the location next to the river and a short walk to the centre of town. Loved the strong water flow of the shower.
Not much really… a small fridge would have been great
Perfect location. Nice staff
The rooms have paper-thin walls. The couple next door were having ridiculously loud sex and left the TV on until 3 in the morning.
Very helpful staff Clean rooms Nice and dark at night . Had the best nights sleep . Big car park .
Nothing , it was fantastic.
Staff were friendly. Bed was pleasant enough
Air con did not work properly at all, so was too hot The trickle vents in the windows let in a lot of noise, luckily the road was closed outside Curtains weren't great at blocking light, very light overlap. Very basic feel hotel, surprised leonardo would put their name on this.
Room with good view
Nothing
The rooms where comfortable and clean
The parking there is not enough spaces
Very nice and clean room. Very close to quayside area.
Small parking lot for all the guests cars. We had to park by the road as suggested by receptionist.
Location in particular
Nothing
Great location, very comfortable. Room was spacious.
Nothing.
Mooi gelegen op Wandelafstand van centrum maar in een rustige wijk - heel vriendelijk personeel
Onvoldoende parkeerruimte bij hotel - en dure parking ernaast waardoor je de auto verder weg moet zetten
Had room only and everything met our expectations
Location and price
The bed was comfy and there was little to no noise disturbance.
A truly good hotel in Gateshead would help you forget you're in Gateshead. Unfortunately this hotel fell short. The room felt like it needed a good refurbishment, especially in the bathroom, the walls had nothing on them and were bare. Carpet was dirty and the bathroom was hardly spotless. Did not feel at all like a four star hotel. More like a 2.
My room was really spacious, and had a lovely view of the river.
Reception felt quite understaffed, you had to wait a while if you wanted to speak to anyone. But when you got to them the staff were very friendly.
All very nice and friendly
Nothing
Clean and tidy
Lack of parking. I had to park out on the road. No USB sockets in room.
Staff at reception were nice and helpful, and the room was okay for the price.
Location but the was my own fault I didn’t realise it was on the Gateshead side of the Quayside
Great breakfast. Clean comfortable room.
Great location with friendly staff
Nothing
Good Rooms at a reasonable price. Breakfast great too.

clean quiet and good breakfast

Friendly staff, comfy bed, great location and view, came for our anniversary and they gave us a free room upgrade and 2 free drinks. Food all tasted nice.
Price and selection of the breakfast wasn't the best
We had a family room even though we were just a couple, massive room situated on the corner of the building
Unfortunately we prefer a harder mattress, so a few aches and pains when we got up
Location. Price . Comfy bed
Chair in my room was sliding down. All appliances been pat tested 4 years ago Limited parking space
The position and the cleanliness
Nothing everything was excellent
It's was good value for money and the breakfast was good. The room had everything we needed.
The room was quite tired and could do with updating. The hotel could do with some updating also.
Room was acceptable and bed comfortable.
Parking facilities awful. Bathroom old and badly needing refurbished. Staff ok but not overly helpful
I got a good deal with discount through booking.com
Paying to park the car in the hotel car park
Great location. Good breakfast.
-
Good location with parking
Fire Alarm went off at 2 am
Habitación muy limpia y personal muy amable
Armario pequeño y no había frigorífico
Convenient, comfortable location at a good price
Bathroom was looking very tired and rather worn
Jess the staff on front desk immediately put me and my partner at ease by fixing my error with the dates of my booking. saved me 100 pound from booking.com and made it so seamless and hassle free. Super polite and helpful staff through the 3 days we stayed and loved the room for the value. clean and comfortable. the pillows are a little harder side for me but apart from that excellent and will stay again soon.
pillows were a little on the harder side.
Location was good for what we wanted to do. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly and helpful.
I asked for extra pillows for the room and was given four extra pillowcases. When I asked again for extra pillows I was told there was none available due to hotel being full. What hotel does not have extra pillows for hotel guests. Unbelievable!!!
Everything was excellent!
I have stayed here numerous times before and it my go to place when staying in Newcastle. Its comfortable, decent to very good value to stay depending on how busy. Its close to Quayside and City centre (10 mins walk to Tyne Bridge) so close walking distance to attractions but very nice and quiet. Great views if you get river carpark view. Consistently friendly helpful staff.
Only downside is it can be hard to get onsite parking. Need to be early or lucky. Is on street parking close but need to mave car by 8am. Parking next door for night in the Baltic cap park can prove expensive.
For the price we paid, we thought the hotel was perfect. Lovely clean rooms, clean bathroom, hairdryer. Comfortable bed, spacious room, iron etc, kettle. Staff were all so lovely.
If I had to be super critical, could do with more plug sockets, however I always travel with an extension lead so didn’t effect me.
Location and common areas well Maintained
Bedrooms a bit tired. Disabled access bathroom not suitable for wheelchair users
I liked the cleaness
On checkout we had to wait few minutes before the staff at reception even realised we were there. We said a big loud 'Good morning' they just ignored us for minutes... that was quite rude.
Lovely clean hotel, fabulous staff and great location.
Everything
Staff were great
Room was very dated with new furnishings needed even though this was an executive room
Location is perfect, this was our second visit and we will return.
The cost of drinks in the bar are very expensive
Central location and clean and comfortable
Location is nice next to the bridge and staff were helpful
Room looks like its been the same since the 90s and needs major updates Stains on the chair and blanket cover and ironing board AC was awful and didnt provide any cooling Pillows weren't comfortable
Clean, spacious, good extras (coffee machine).

Great location and great views of the river and across to Newcastle Quayside.
The decor in the corridors is very stark! All white and feels a bit like being in a ferries accommodation section. Could do with some colour and pics on the walls perhaps.
Ideal location overlooking the river Tyne near the Glasshouse and Millennium bridge. Excellent customer service. Clean hotel, comfortable bed, tea and coffee making facilities.
All good
Location and price is excellent. First night no problems at all. Easy to walk to the quayside. Staff helpful. Beds comfortable.
Slightly moved the bedside light, tripped all the electrics in the room - staff to be fair fixed this promptly. On closer inspection there was a dodgy looking hole in the wall beneath this light with wires sticking out....Walls are very thin - loud lads next door in the evening. So it's a bit of a lottery with who you get next to you. Car park very small, had to park at the top of a decent hill which was 5-10 minutes away as it was full. Dated.
Lovely view across the river from our room and from the external seating area of the bar.
Grossly inadequate parking and staff had no suggestions for alternatives except to park on the street. Surely the hotel could have made some arrangement with the Baltic (next door). Breakfast was good but evening meals very varied, one ok and one not. Because of local road works, access to the hotel was difficult and time consuming. If you're going into central Newcastle, you'd do better to walk past the Baltic and cross the Millennium footbridge, which brings you out on Newcastle Quayside.
Bit grubby
Clean, good location, friendly staff
Air conditioning in room was poor leading to disturbed nights sleep - humidity was too high
Staff lovely Place lovely and clean
Woken up by deliveries, bin collections Air conditioning not great, no fan in bathroom Bedroom door slams too quickly making lots of noise
Staff are always lovely, very attentive and nothing is ever too much for them. Location is so peaceful and so gorgeous
Everything about the hotel was excellent, apart from dirty marks on bedroom walls.
As above dirty marks on bedroom walls
The hotel was situated near to the The Glasshouse where we were going .
We asked for an early check and were told it was subject to availability. We arrived at 1.30pm and were told to go back at 2.30pm.When we did there was a queue of people so by the time we got to the reception desk it was just after 3pm to then be told our room was still not available. It was after 4pm by the time our room was available by which time we had missed some of the music at The Glasshouse which we had paid good money for.
This is a comfortable hotel on the Gateshead side of the Tyne River quays. It is a comfortable walk across the pedestrian bridge to the city centre.
There are not enough parking places available in the hotel car park. On the four nights we stayed at the hotel we were never able to get parking. There are alternatives, but the advertised parking did influence our choice of hotel so this was a little disappointing.
The location was great, a nice walk from Newcastle city centre .
The beds were quite hard so I already knew I wasn’t going to sleep well. We were in room 308 which faces another side of the building and oh my good god did we get woken up at 4am every morning by something happening outside, whether it be people moving bins, people drilling, there was always something, it was too warm in the room to close the window so it was a lose lose situation. And the bedroom doors are so loud, we had a problem with our neighbour as they would constantly be slamming their door all night after they’d been out on the Friday, it would literally shake the room, you couldn’t ignore it. Same goes with room in the same corridor as you, you can hear when people are coming and going by hearing their doors slam. Me and my boyfriend spent more time sleeping during the day because we were so exhausted than at night, didn’t get to explore much of Newcastle as a whole unfortunately 🤷🏽♀️
Location
The offer parking but they should charge this to limited parking!
Great location on the Tyne.
We had room 318 and the wall by the bed seemed quite dirty. Parking was an issue - although there was a secure and modern car park 2 minutes away but had to pay to park in another car park to find this out. Would’ve been better to share this before arrival so less stress when you get there.
Friendly staff.
Wash hand basin in room cracked Restaurant not well stocked asked for fish and chips on arrival and told no fish, no pepperoni pizza settled for the BBQ chicken pizza which was the worse pizza ever parts of the base was raw. Breakfast was also very poor no gluten free bread or vegetarian sausages. Card at the bread station indicated pastries and muffins however only had white/brown bread bagels and croissants. Would not recommend hotel to anyone and certainly would never return.
Location was ideal for visiting the glass house and quayside
There was a lot of young people who were up all night making a noise. I did complain and they said they would send someone to their room
Great view of River Tyne. Excellent breakfast! A cut above other budget hotels. Definitely stay here again.
Inadequate parking and expensive. Had to park on the road and was glad to have a steering wheel lock.
Bar Food, location & parking.
Wait for room key 1 hour as jot ready. Then it basic, not clean.
Rooms very clean and comfortable, Within a 20 minute walk to the town centre with a lovely hotel bar. Very easy to get Bolts/Ubers would highly recommend for anyone thinking of booking.
Nothing couldn't fault them.
Perfect location ,short walk along the Tyne to the city centre.Great value
Nothing
Newcastle itself is a lovely place.
My room at Leonardo was stinking. From moment I opened my room door there was a horrible unpleasant smell. It was that bad the smell clung to my travelling bags and so much so the cleaner was the inside my bags had to be washed once I got to work including my bags. Very poor
Comfortable, Modern and Clean rooms

Amazing value for money, drinks weren’t bad for hotel either. Staff were all lovely.
Nothing I didn’t like
The view and the staff very polite
The bar closing early
Price was excellent value for money, especially for a friday night stay. Room was a good size and bed very comfortable.
Looking out onto car park
Love this hotel staff are fantastic always recommend

L'emplacement était bien. Et c'était confortable.
Le parking n'avait jamais de place. Et le bâtiment en face de ma chambre était des bureaux du coup il voyait directement ma chambre.
Lovely hotel, helpful staff
Nothing
Good value for money easy check in and check out process Room very big Good location
Room was very old and worn the sofa is the room was incredibly stained I wouldn’t let my daughter even sit on it. The bathroom unit was broken the front bit had fallen off?
We were able to secure a parking place
The bathroom was not clean There was a very loud clock nearby that chimed and kept me from sleeping Breakfast - could definitely improve - I stacked 3 dirty plates from the clean pile to one side and staff simply picked them up and put them back on the clean pile I removed them again leaving the dirtiest plate on top.
It was everything fine
I liked everything
Very suprised by the hotel. Clean, tidy, well positioned. The only slight complaint of the room was the blackout curtains which had some holes in which appeared to be moth holes. Price and position was superb.
Give me time to look for something to complain about.
Comfy bed and great location
Was out in a disabled room right beside the lifts and hear every body talking while acting for the lifts Room was not very clean but no staff available on reception to tell
Location clean and well priced
Nothing
Good room in a good location. Good choice for breakfast
There was a coach party in and the dining room was out of use. We should have been made aware of this
Accueil très professionnel et agréable. Chambre spacieuse. Excellent petit déjeuner, copieux et varié.
Besoin d'un peu de rafraîchissement dans la salle de bain.
Clean and great place to stay
Room had a great view... staff helpful... excellent breakfast and the whole package really good value. Great shower!
controlling the heating/air conditioning was impossible
Location was perfect, not too close to the centre but close enough to walk to or get the Metro. Staff were warm and welcoming. The room and view were great and in particular, the shower and bed were top 👌🏼

Quietness and clineliness
Dinning staff one of them rude
Staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms spacious. Ideal location. Nice breakfast
Friendly staff Good Wi-Fi Quiet Very good buffet
Far distance location
Bright. Spacious. Clean. Breakfast was lovely.
Other guest weren’t mindful of other guests. Bed were very hard. Duvet cover ripped at seam. Don’t understand how house keeping didn’t notice it.
Bequemes Bett. Gute Lage in der Nähe der Millenium Bridge. Schöner Blick auf den Tyne.
Hotel hat schon bessere Zeiten gesehen. Insgesamt etwas abgewohnt. Restauranterlebnis enttäuschend. Nicht bekommen was auf der Karte stand und keine Reaktion auf Beschwerde. Dazu noch teuer.
The Breakfast & Location
