Location. Large room , comfy bed , good shower
Breakfast could be better for the standard of hotel. No menus - I had a poached egg but only as I asked , no indication any where of what was available on request. No alternative to butter was put out. Fresh fruit offered was not apertising apart from sliced melon which was not plentiful. We didn’t eat in the hotel in the evening as very limited menu.
Very interesting Country Manor building set in a quiet location. The standard of assistance given by the staff was first class. The evening choice of menu and wine list was not very exciting; could have improved with some variation. Good location for visiting the local area.
A lift to first floor!
All the staff were friendly, helpful and polite. Big shout out for the manager, he works his socks off. The building itself is interesting, the woods walk is well worth the effort. The location is ideal as a base to explore beautiful Cornwall.
Buffet breakfast is standard, no fish options. The evening meal menu could do with jazzing up a bit. Put a specials board up with catch of the day etc.
Pretty much the whole experience was great, from check-in to check-out. Friendly welcome. Genuine, not for effect. Great room with a great view. Large, comfy bed. Good pillows (not common in hotels in our exp). Nice big shower. Location was really good for getting to the places we wanted to visit. We ate at the hotel in the evening, as well as the buffet breakfast - both of which were very good. All in all, very positive
The coffee machine at breakfast wasn't the best.
The lodge we stayed in was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped for 4 people. The spa facilities were excellent. The restaurant was relaxing, the staff were friendly and efficient and the food was lovely. Overall a very enjoyable stay in pleasant surroundings.
The lodge was well furnished but perhaps in need of a little updating.
Everything. Customer service of staff superb. All staff we dealt with were very helpful. Breakfast was great. Room clean and comfortable. Facilities - sauna, pool etc were very good.
Very good breakfast and evening meal , staff were superb , extremely helpful , nothing was too much trouble . very good spa and swimming pool .
Our room was cosy but had no outlook , placed above the kitchens and had a staircase over our bathroom so we had all the noise from people up and down the stairs , couldn't fully open our window .
Breakfast good the hotel was very pleasant . Pool staff particularly friendly and helpful.
Room was small and was at the top of the building and view restricted . Wouldn't have chosen that room if I had known .
The gym is OK - oldish equipment. Nice medium sized swimming pool.
The property was excellent and staff very helpful. Evening meal was good quality and very good value.
Nothing.
Stayed in a 2 bedroom/bathroom chalet. Very clean and well furnished living space with open plan kitchen. Outside area from patio doors perfect for little dog. Our chalet had sea views and a fairly private setting, though all chalets seemed to be thoughtfully laid out with little paths weaving in and out, plus woodland walks. Lovely pool and jacuzzi. Friendly and courteous staff everywhere.
Nothing
Very spacious, well equipped, comfortable accommodation. Brilliant for the whole family and our dog. Nice grounds - woodland walk for the dog was good. Pool and spa facilities were fine.
Some of the communal facilities could have been cleaner.
Excellent location. The room is big and comfortable and clean. Facilities are neat and tidy. Great lobby. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Amazing view as well.
Only thing is the shower switch was hard to grip once your hand got slippery with shower gel and you can’t change the water pressure of the shower head.
Great location close to Eden, Helligan and Fowey. Peaceful and well maintained. Pool never crowded, cottage very comfortable.
The door lock on the cottage was very hard to use. No dishwasher.
Accommodation in lodge very well fitted out, spacious and comfortable. Communal spaces beautiful. Good size swimming pool. Good scenic location and views.
Lodge should have been cleaner: windows very dirty. Could not get the EV charging to work and staff could not assist us.
A wonderful experience in a lovely location.
Nothing
Excellent value for money including the spa facilities and breakfast. Good location with lovely sea views.
My only recommendation would be that the bathroom is slightly dated and renovating.
Good location. Nice room, well equipped. View was lovely and the outside space was great. really liked the terrace area outside. A few very friendly, helpful staff. very grateful of a fan due to hot weather. Dinner in the restaurant was good.
On arrival the room was clean but there was an old vape left on the window that had not been cleared. Used the pool and checked on how busy it was as directed. It was lovely and quiet on arrival and about 10 minutes later it was full of families with children. The pool is very small, it was difficult to relax as it was noisy so we left after about 15 mins. No coffee for breakfast and staff were not overly helpful. Breakfast choice was limited and disappointing. For the price paid for a night, much of the hotel offerings felt that they were done as cheaply as possible. some of the staff felt very busy and distracted, as if customers were an imposition, especially when we checked out.
The staff were great, arranged some birthday balloons and waiter in the restaurant was a definite plus. The room was cosy and had everything required, the spa was good.
I thought it was a little soulless and corporate, rather than personal. There were things that didn’t really add up for a romantic weekend, and things like the coat rail in reception which somehow didn’t fit the ambience. The menu was a little bland and a lack of imaginative vegetarian choices. They didn’t have any decaf coffee in the bar which was a little unusual.
Excellent spacious room with comfy sofa to enjoy sea view
check in not great. Could hardly hear receptionist. Not offered any extras eg Sunday roast lunch which not advertised anywhere. Bathroom could do with small table or unit to stand wash bag. A Nespresso machine offered in many similar priced rooms in past, would have been welcome.
Hotel good and staff excellent. Room very clean, but bathroom sink was cracked, needs replacing. Location excellent.
Dinner menu very disappointing, little choice and same one vegetable served every night. Menu didn't vary during the five nights of our stay so went elsewhere for some variety.
We stayed in a lodge, fairly well appointed and comfortable.
We had a meal at the restaurant in the Manor. The menu choice was very limited, and the Caesar Salad was 'uninteresting'. The grounds were nice but appeared untended and overgrown. There was a marked 'end of season' feel to the resort, to say it was the day after August Bank holiday.
Beautiful location hotel was magnificent, clean and tidy. Friendly efficient staff excellent food. Great Spa facilities.
Nothing
All: location, accommodation, comfort, friendly staff
Great location
Patio door was open on arrival with towels used in the bathroom so a little odd and disconcerting.
Food was excellent. Cheerful, friendly staff. Good facilities, nice spa and swimming pool. Reasonably comfortable bed and room.
Some functional issues - the door lock system on the room doors was a bit clunky and seemed unnecessary. The fan in the room was very dusty
Ampio parcheggio.
La colazione potrebbe essere più curata.
Brilliant manor, very clean and tidy. Staff were brilliant, food was amazing and the room was very nice and also the bed was stupidly comfy!
Amazing location and beautiful grounds around the Manor resort. Very grand !
Very minor, bathroom was a little dated but very clean indeed.
Clean, friendly staff, beautiful main building
Probably the worst breakfast I have ever had!
Room was great very spacious, breakfast was good with a wide choice & bar & outside area was excellent.
Bed was comfortable. Room size good. View terrible considering we booked six months in advance and asked for a superior double room.
Check-in is the worst experienced in my living memory. No porter. No lift. Had to carry my bags to the room. I helped a 75 year old American tourist with his luggage. Staff not interested in helping him or his wife. The reception area and dinning room smelled of stale cooking fat. Carpets dirty, furniture in reception and bar mismatched, stained, thread bare or torn in places. All windows appear uncleaned inside and out for months, mature fly strewn cobwebs on every window. Dead flies on window sills of bar and dinning room. Checked and still there four mornings later when we checked out. Had to ask repeatedly for our room to be cleaned, eventually done on third day. Skeletal staff. Terraced area unkempt, chairs strewn, umbrellas not erected, plants in tubs dying, weeds growing and no bar tender often. On two occasions the bar tender could only use one arm as other arm was in a sling. It was like Fawlty Towers gone wrong. Took an eternity to get served. Other than sleeping we got out everyday for as long as possible. Did not fancy the pool area due to the level of cleanliness in the rest of the hotel. The atmosphere was terrible. Obviously money issues as the place is going downhill rapidly. Not worth the money. One coffee machine at breakfast, therefore it took an average of seven minutes to make your own coffee, just a joke. If the queue for coffee was more than two people, you just walked away. It is such a shame as it has potential and I am lead to believe it was fantastic many years ago. But not now. It is 2 star at best. Will not be back.
The hotel's rooms we booked were cozy and comfortable although my request for two separate beds were not accommodated.
The hotel does not have a lift service and no appropriate signage for leisure club.
Quiet, clean and very comfortable
Nothing
It was a nice place and comfortable to stay in.
Our lodges and cottages were scattered all over the place coming as a big family had made it inconvenient as had to drive to and from each property.
The breakfast was good, though the scrambled eggs looked less than freshly made. The location was not good for other restaurants The pool and sauna were excellent
There’s no lift! Our room was in the roof space and my patois not good with stairs. This is the main reason we left after one night even though we’d booked for two! The shower controls were absolutely terrible! The reception areas look dated and unfriendly. Not to my taste. The plants on the terrace were dead. Not a good look…
Peace and quiet environment.
It’s little bit isolated from other attraction.
Breakfast, Flexibility, information given
Wifi Information at hand, the fan in the bathroom - put signs! light in the bathroom - X-rya lights to use during the night - not OK. Put a light usable at night without a headache. Put a lamp next to the window, only 2 side lamps next to the bed, not enough for atmosphere and comfort. Leave blankets in the room or a sheet to change. Leave menu in the room and door signs.
The location is easily accessible from a short distance on decent B roads, ideally located for Foy and to explore nearby attractions and villages. The grounds are serene, very peaceful. We had a large room with a sea view, with three huge windows forming a floor to ceiling bay, the light was amazing, this is a wonderful room to lay on the long sofa facing the ocean and read a book. The bed and bedding was comfortable, and the bathroom spacious with a large bath and separate shower. We made use of the small gym and pool, which rounded off the days local exploring with a bit of relaxation and family fun.
The food was average at best, with not choice on the menu. Breakfast was not the standard expected for a ‘luxury’ hotel. I’ve had better at Premier Inn! The dining room was chaotic with tables packed in too tightly for a buffet service where guest are up and down from their seats. Toiletries were scarce, one small shower gel for three people, but requested more and this was provided.
The bathroom was great and the whole facilty was very clean. The rooms were a good size and the location looked lovely.
The restaurant could have been better. Limited and quite pricey dinner options, and stop serving at 8pm. Breakfast also had limited options and only served food between 8am and 10am.
The breakfast was very good. The coffee is really good. The staff was very friendly and there are different acitvities for kids like football, trail, pool, jenga, etc.

Food wasn’t great and it was very expensive
Location and building
Spa facilities didnt work
Property had a neat and posh look, the service was also excellent.
Poor network, there was some issues with the television and a lack of vegan or vegetarian options.
We stayed in one of the lodges , which was so comfortable and so clean . Added bonus was that it was dog friendly so we could bring ours with us . We were also lucky enough to have a sea view . A quick walk to the hotel and you could enjoy a drink on the terrace or a dip in the pool. We just had such a wonderful time.
It's worth noting that you must pay a deposit for each night you have your dog with you. It's a small price to pay for having your four legged ones with you but doesn't state this on booking.com.
The spa and pool is great!
No cleaning of the room. No change of towels.
Selim was very attentive and very polite. Thank you for introducing Cornwall so nicely to us!
Nothing! Loved it all
Big rooms, high ceilings, nice views . Good pool for kids, good breakfast. Kids bunk bed was quite creaky but our bed was nice and overall staff were nice.
Decor little dated but fine, plastic flowers etc. but building it’s self has a lot of potential. Some of higher up cleaning such as bathroom wall and chandeliers had cobwebs. But mainly clean. Towels for pool very small. But overall for a couple of nights with family I would say was good.
Very quiet. Spacious. Very clean
We stayed at Trenython for only 1 night but we enjoyed our stay. Very quiet and beautiful location, close to beaches and the stunning local streets to have a walk and eat. Slightly disappointed that restaurants close so early even at peak season as we couldn’t get anything to eat after 8:30-9pm. Hotel is slightly dated but our room was spacious, clean and had a beautiful view of the countryside and sea. Kids also enjoyed the pool while mum and dad enjoyed the jacuzzi/ sauna facilities. Staff were polite and helpful and breakfast was nice. Kids also liked visiting Sheldon & James the 2 sweet tortoises on the hotel grounds🐢
Would have been nice if they had a small kids area to play indoor or outdoor or an activity.
Beautiful setting, pleasant rooms and super breakfast.
The bath/shower was a challenge to get in and out of and could do with a refresh. It was very hot during our stay, we were provided with a super fan but air conditioning would be a huge benefit.
Lovely hotel, really enjoyed the swimming pool and spa facilities. Good quality breakfast, nice size rooms. Great garden and woodland walk to take our dog.
Bedroom far too hot. 2 fans provided but not enough for this hot weather. Breakfast lovely but under staffed- waiting for items to be replenished/ cooked. Coffee machine out of order all 4 days. Towels not bath sheets, bit small.
Staff very friendly, facilities great, lovely location
Restaurant main course didn’t live up to expectations poor presentation over priced, I had ribeye steak more rocket than you could throw a stick at, koffman fries? Really!. £35 add tomatoes mushrooms and better fries and profit would still be made. Quality over quantity would make for a better experience.
This hotel is at best 2 star ( being kind) currently not serving lunch at all just crisps at the bar! Coffee machine at breakfast broken, heat lamps for food keeping food under safe eating temp, we left after first night of 3 night stay, it was that bad. We stayed in room 204 advertised as sea view but as the stone wall is 4.6 ft high when you sit down you are staring at the wall, I feel this place is miss sold, tried addressing it on site but told the reason they have a pay up front policy ( nothing can be charged to the room) as people leave a lot…
It’s old and tired with hardly any staff it’s a shame as it looks ok in pictures but in reality it’s very disappointing
We stayed at one of the detached cottages on the ground (with seaview). The cottage was immaculate. clean, very spacious (over 100 sqm) with large garden and outdoor terrace. The kitchen was well fitted with everything you need. Comfortable beds and pillows. Great shower. Loads of parking just outside the cottage. Very quiet and secluded, even on a busy week. The staff were examplary. Each one of them - reception, breakfast, restaurant and bar (I know they rotate) and housekeeping. Friendly, helpful, smiling and pofessionaly relentless. The location is minutes drive from the beautiful Fowey, Par Beach, Eden Project and Football Golf - all excellent attractions!
Room was slightly understocked - not enough soap and shampoo, or toilet roll for 4 people. Kitchen could have had salt, pepper, cooking oil - just a few basics. Filter coffee machine, but no filters nor coffee.
Beautiful views, close to Fowey, the Eden Project, megavissey and gardens.
Our bed was much firmer than we’re used to.
Swimming pool, location
We arrived to a dirty room, staff then had to clean it while we just had to wait. We weren’t offered a drink or anything while we waited. Hotel is quite dated. Breakfast wasn’t great, cheap sliced bread. Some staff were great, some weren’t
The two-bedroom lodge was really large and comfortably fitted us and our two teenage boys and our dog. It was very clean and spacious and had a lovely outside terrace. The boys loved the indoor pool and kicking a ball around on the grounds. The setting was beautiful and the outside bar area had wonderful views. The food at the restaurant was also really good. You need a car to get around although we easily got a taxi into Fowey for 2 evenings, which is less than 10 mins away. Fowey is fantastic, with lovely restaurants and bars. The nearby beach of Par Sands, was fantastic and very dog friendly. We loved this part of Cornwall and would stay at the Manor again.
All was good.
The staff are extremely pleasant, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was a buffet but good variety and the atmosphere in the breakfast room was very quiet and calming. The building is lovely and great ambiance.
The pool was a bit small for number of people.
Breakfast could have had fruit and dinner menu was basic
It’s a lovely place tucked away not too far from Fowey harbour. Lovely pool, great breakfast and beautiful grounds.
The lodges were cold, we spent 2 nights cold and despite asking numerous times for the heating situation to be resolved we ended up adding extra layers. It was so cold, our friends left after night 1, as his medical condition makes him really feel the cold. The steam room was not working despite being open, which was a bit disappointing as we wanted to warm up!
Breakfast and lunch were excellent and in a fantastic setting. Panelled dining room and peaceful terrace.
Spacious and very clean
Nothing
The manor is a beautiful building in a gorgeous spot surrounded by trees. The views are spectacular of the sea in the distance. The dining room with its old paneling was very cool. The staff were great. Our room was huge and overlooked the gardens and sea.
Not well signed within the grounds.
Lovely location with breathtaking views. Some grandeur feeling from the historic residence
Disastrous management of the breakfast buffet, that was fully gone by 9:30am. Tables left covered with dirty dishes after people were done. Definitely not the best way to start your day. “Spa” area small but nice, though it tends to get busy in the afternoon. Suggest going in the morning. Helpful app allows you to monitor how busy the facilities are in real time.
We were given a good ground floor room with terrace plenty of room.
The breakfast was not entirely satisfactory. We had to ask for tea as there was only a coffee machine. The cooked food dried out as it wasn’t covered.
It was a very clean property, with decent room size and very good swimming pool, staff was very polite and helpful but it seems they were short of staff.
Very limited vegetarian food options at the restaurant for both breakfast as well as dinner. Even within English breakfast these days all hotels and restaurants serve vegetarian/vegan sausages. The pastries were served from the supermarket, on our last day the Waffles were not even removed from the St.Pierre packaging. For dinner the only vegetarian options were Margherita pizza and Ratatouille tart. We had it at first night, but couldn't have the same for the following 3 nights. The pint of Tribute pale ale that I ordered at that dinner was not chilled at all. So on the following days we chose to bring our own drinks from co-op and kept it in the mini-bar fridge in our room. I would not rate this property as 4-stars but rather 3.
The location is lovely
Dinner location atmosphere and staff pleasant.
Generally tired appearance, especially internal to the Hotel (carpets etc).
Stayed last minute in one of the lodges for a night. Super welcome from the staff. Lodge clean and with two bedrooms. Estate very quiet. Dinner down in nearby Fowey - ye olde Cornish village. Swimming pool and sauna very nice to have with the kids (16 and over only for the sauna and hot tub though).
Pleasant outdoor terrace to enjoy the sun with woodland walks. Only a short distance from Fowey. Convenient restaurant.
House and indoor facilities were good. Ok indoor swimming pool. Nice surroundings.
The internet was really bad. No pillows for the ourdoor hard chairs. The balcony was close to the neighbours. It should have been directed towards the garden.
Beautiful & peaceful location. A lovely relaxed vibe. Friendly & helpful staff. Cottages in the grounds were great but we enjoyed having use of the spa and the hotel facilities.
The television signal wasn’t great. The cable wasn’t working very well. It was unfortunate timing as we were trying to watch the football World Cup final!
The Manager was amazing welcoming and accommodating, lovely man, took our luggage up to our (we had a lot of luggage) Room-service was good, the room was nice and cool the whole room was clean and fresh very comfortable bed, we had undisturbed sleep no noise issues. we would stay there again but the menu needs to be reviewed and better choices made available. The Manager should get a pay rise he works very hard.
The breakfast was cold, the steak was overpriced, not much choice on the menu, we wanted afternoon tea but we were not told we needed to book it , no view just a brick wall and pipes the amenities made disabled friendly, we observed a father carry his severely disable daughter up the stairs and her wheelchair was left downstairs.
Beautiful setting. Lovely room, spacious. Lovely communal spaces, quiet and relaxing
It was very hot in the room, due to exceptional weather. Air con or at least some stronger fans would be beneficial
Room excellent, breakfast good
Reception staff were generally cold........uninviting. Efficient, but a smile would have helped. No help offered with luggage. Gardens were unkempt and dog poo box had not been emptied for a long time. Sad.........but simple to have maintained. Tortoises were great! Our room below the terrace suffered noisy drinkers above late in the evening.
Superb breakfast options.
Sehr schöne Aussicht, Wellnessbereich, genügend Parkplätze, ruhig. Nettes Personal.
Fehlende Klimaanlage, kein Lift
Beautiful location & hotel us well presented. Staff were friendly, helpful & professional. Bresjdast was lovely. Parking was a bit of a walk as the few spaces by the entrance are marked for EV charging vehicles & disabled guests only. My only complainy was that it was very hot in the room, outside temp was warm but not in the 30+° we'd had recently. Had 3 fans running all night, both nights & it just pushed the warm air around! As 201 is a large room, the plug points were too far from the perimeter of the bed to really feel any benefit from fans. Opening the window did very little as there was a solid brick wall about 2 feet from the glass so not much light coming in, and absolutely no breeze circulating either!
Air con / extension leads would improve this room greatly. Not nice looking out on a brick wall and for £90 I would have expected to be able to see something
Sehr schönes Haus mit toller Gartenanlage. Ruhig und gemütlich. Schwimmbad war super.
Very grand building.
The room was very hot but they did provide a fan and it has been a heat wave !
Comfortable hotel with lovely terrace. Staff attentive and helpful.
We didn’t stay for dinner as the menu looked dull with basic pub food. Eating elsewhere is a treat in superb restaurants and pubs selling all types of seafood. I suggest hotel copies a French bistro menu if it can find a chef to produce Mediterranean food.
Really excellent, clean with great facilities and friendly staff
Lovely setting, views and friendly staff and nice facilities
The lodge was in a quiet wooded location
Pity no blackout curtains light very early
Loved being so close to Eden Project. Enjoyed the Spa facilities Comfy bed
There's nothing not to like here
Stayed in one of the lodges. Incredibly clean, Very comfortable and well stocked with everything to facilitate a comfortable stay.
Honestly, nothing we didn’t like!
Stunning location with good access to local towns and south coast attraction.
Ants and ant traps in the bathroom - clearly a known problem but not treating the source behind some tiles, had to hoover a lot up and spray cleaner on a couple of occasions.
The building was nice - staff were ok
The room was claustrophobic- window too small - no air. Breakfast was awful. Dried overcooked food some of which inedible - coffee machine not working properly. Didn't have dinner there based oh the quality of breakfast. Gone done hill from 2 years ago.
Lovely unit, two bedrooms and self contained kitchen. Outside patio. Perfect the 4,of us, good location for the spa, pool, and dining room
Missed not having an ensuite, sharing bathroom with 4 people is difficult.the weather was extremely hot and we had to keep all the doors and windows open.
Location is amazing! The views are great. We loved swimming pool.
