Camere pulite e acqua calda. Mi hanno aiutato in tutte le mie richieste. Hanno anche gli scooter e in negozio di generi alimentari sotto.

L’amabilitat dels propietaris, tot i que no ens enteniem gaire.

Contentissimi di aver soggiornato in questa struttura: ordinata, pulita e ben curata, inoltre si può raggiungere il centro della città in pochi minuti. Avevamo acqua calda, wi-fi perfettamente funzionante e un posto per il nostro tuk-tuk. Ci siamo trovati benissimo e ci siamo voluti fermare una notte in più. La colazione era molto buona e abbondante, con tante pietanze tra cui piatti tradizionali e frutta. Anche se non era prevista il secondo giorno, e per loro era un giorno di festa, i proprietari si sono comunque adoperati cucinando per noi. Tutta la famiglia è stata fin da subito super gentile, attenta e dolcissima. Assolutamente consigliata! 🏠♥️

It was really clean. Very comfortable. Felt safe And they were really friendly.

Sweet owners, 15 min walk to the fort. They can provide you with breakfast or dinner if you want. It is fun to see the train drive by.

Für Personen mit leichten Schlaf ist die Location neben den Zuggleisen nicht zu empfehlen, weil die Züge sehr laut sind.

Great location, easy to walk to the fort. The room was huge and clean. There was loads of fans in the room to keep it cool, nearly worked better then AC would have. An incredibly lovely family, the daughter was so kind, helpful and accommodating to me. I would recommend!

Accueil exceptionnel, la famille est adorable et aux petits soins. Repas et petit déjeuner exceptionnels et extrêmement copieux permettant de découvrir la cuisine Sri lankaise. Chambre très propre, spacieuse, décorée, grands lits très confortables, climatisation et moustiquaire (pas de moustique croisé), wifi, douche chaude. Famille propriétaire d'une petite épicerie au rez-de-chaussée pour acheter de l'eau par exemple. Voie ferrée au pied de la maison, c'est folklorique mais peu de passage de train, pas dérangeant la nuit.

Pas de parking ( pas de souci pour nous, nous avions un chauffeur).

One of the best hosts, Always concerned about the guests ❤️and they always smile. Such a heart warming hosts. ❤️ they even gave away snacks and bottle for free for my early morning train. very close to Galle station and 10 min walk to the fort. Would def stay here whenever I'm at Galle ❤️

Ich hatte einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt im Silver Rail. Das Zimmer ist riesig, sehr sauber. Vom Balkon aus kann man Abends die Flughunde von ganz nah beobachten. An den Zuglärm habe ich mich schnell gewöhnt! Man kommt innerhalb von 15 Minuten zu Fuß gut nach Galle Fort. Die Gastgeber sind überaus freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Frühstück sehr umfangreich und lecker. Danke für die schöne Zeit bei euch!

We had a really great stay here. The owners were incredibly kind and always willing to help us with anything we needed, which made a big difference during our trip. The place was very clean, comfortable, and everything was well taken care of.

Personnel très accueillant et serviable ! Chambres spacieuses avec une belle vue ! Et bon emplacement. Cependant, attendez vous à entendre le train dans la nuit !

The room was very neat and tidy and the owner was also very helpful.

Lovely family, so welcoming and warm. The daughters speak English, the lady of the house cooks really well. Dinner was perfect, just as breakfast was too!

The location is adjacent to the train track, and the trains are noisy until and start early. But the family makes up for the discomfort of the train

Wir hatten einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt. Die Familie ist unglaublich freundlich und herzlich, man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Das Frühstück wird frisch zubereitet und ist sehr lecker, ebenso das Abendessen – alles mit viel Liebe gemacht. Die Unterkunft war durchgehend sauber und gepflegt, und wir haben sehr gut geschlafen. Ein kleiner Hinweis: Die Unterkunft liegt in der Nähe einer Bahnstrecke, daher kann es zeitweise etwas lauter sein. Uns persönlich hat das jedoch nicht besonders gestört. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir die Ehrlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft der Familie: Unsere Tochter hatte ihre AirPods vergessen, und wir wurden direkt informiert, sodass wir sie problemlos wieder abholen konnten.

- Spacious - Good breakfast - The lady and her daughter were very friendly - No mosquitoes (thank god!) - Wifi was okay

- The train was really loud, however, I managed to sleep well (I must be too tired) - There were ants on the table and chair and they could be quite aggressive and bit my legs and arms - No shampoo or body wash other than a soap - It would be a good choice of value if you have a companion - A little bit walk, around 15 mins to the train station and bus station (you have to compete with cars and tuk tuks on the road)

Très belle chambre et famille très accueillante et gentille. Le petit déjeuner (supplément) vaut largement le coup, je vous le conseille fortement, il était délicieux et en quantité gargantuesque

Attention aux personnes voulant faire la grasse matinée, le logement est juste à coté des rails de train

住宿位子方便，離巴士站跟火車站步行15分鐘就可以到，房間寬敞有冷氣很舒服，而且房間非常乾淨，民宿一家人都很友善客氣，女主人提供的早餐很豐盛又好吃，雖然只有住一晚但是很喜歡！

房主非常非常的热情和友善，非常nice的一家人。 房间很不错，干净整洁宽敞。 早餐超级多！完全吃不下，太丰盛了！ 最后check out还送了一杯芒果汁很好喝！

Unser Aufenthalt in diesem Hostel war wirklich wunderbar. Die Lage ist top, alles Wichtige ist gut erreichbar. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir das unglaublich liebe und herzliche Personal. Man hat sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen und bestens betreut gefühlt. Es wurde sich aufmerksam und ehrlich gekümmert, genau so wünscht man sich das. Das Zimmer war sauber und ordentlich, wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Ein weiteres Highlight war das Frühstück. Sehr reichhaltig und absolut ausreichend, perfekt für alle mit großem Hunger und einem guten Start in den Tag. Insgesamt ein rundum gelungener Aufenthalt. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Hinweis für geräuschempfindliche Gäste: In der Nähe fährt regelmäßig ein Zug vorbei. Für Menschen mit leichtem Schlaf kann das als störend empfunden werden.

The staff. The staff were an incredible beautiful and impressive family who worked hard to make sure i and the other guests were comfortable. Despite the language barrier we made everything work and they gave me so much free food i was bursting at the seams! 😂 The room itself was huge and could have hosted a small family. And in the golden hours you could watch a huge swarm of fruit bats 🦇 flying across the sky and quite close to the room but never inside so dont worry 😉. It was really nice.

It was hard to keep the warm cool during the day and the internet was poor. However this is typical in sri lanka. It was also a bit of a walk to the bus/train stations with luggage.

Friendly hosts, the place feels very secure. The room was amazing, clean, lots of fans and from the top floor you can watch the trains go past. Beds have mosquito nets. Everything was clean. Tuk tuk to the fort is cheap and easy. Tea in the morning was also very nice! Would love to come again!

Os proprietários foram super simpáticos e preocupados em garantir-me uma boa estadia. O quarto é grande e dispõe do necessário para uma estadia agradável, faltando apenas um frigorifico.

O alojamento fica a 20/30 metros da linha do comboio pelo que com frequência ouvia o comboio a passar.

¡Nos encantó todo! La familia fue estupenda y super atenta con nosotros; la comida, era srilanquesa y estaba buenísima; la habitación, era cómoda y limpia; y, en cuanto a la ubicación, estaba a menos de 20 min caminando del fuerte. ¡Lo recomendamos 120%!

The room was spacious and spotless, and the family who runs the place is incredibly friendly and welcoming. We also loved the breakfast—it was delicious and the portions were huge.

The noise was a major issue; trains run constantly through the night and are incredibly loud. Earplugs are an absolute necessity to get any rest here.

Chỗ này thật sự là “không có gì để chê”. Phòng rộng kinh khủng, rộng tới mức mình đùa là chắc đá bóng mini trong phòng cũng được =)). Sạch sẽ, thoáng mát, ở rất thoải mái. Gia đình chủ nhà thì siêu thân thiện và dễ mến. Dù tụi mình đặt phòng không bao gồm ăn sáng, nhưng sáng nào họ cũng pha trà và chuẩn bị bánh mời. Cảm giác rất ấm áp, kiểu được chăm sóc như người nhà chứ không đơn thuần là khách thuê phòng. Sau 2 tuần đi khắp Sri Lanka, đây thật sự là nơi mình thấy đáng giá nhất trong cả chuyến đi – cả về chất lượng phòng lẫn sự tử tế của chủ nhà. Điểm trừ nhỏ là homestay nằm gần đường tàu, nên khi tàu chạy qua có thể hơi ồn và một số người ngủ nhẹ sẽ thấy khó ngủ. Nhưng với tụi mình thì hoàn toàn không vấn đề gì, thậm chí còn thấy khá thú vị.

The lady in charge was very helpful and polite person. She went out of the way to assist me.

Location comfortable and the family were so lovely. They went out of their way to get us on the train with our bags, showed us where to wait. I cannot recommend it enough. 6 stars !!!

Nothing to not like

we had a huge room which was clean and the bed was comfortable. there are fans and the owner was very friendly and hospitable. we also got some tea and hoppers even though we said we will eat breakfast outside. thank you for your hospitality!

the train is right next to the house so you can hear it very well but we knew that when booking so it didn’t disturb us.

The family is very friendly, the wifi and A/C are working well, the room was clean and the breakfast was delicious and a lot!

As already mencioned by others, you have to be amare that you are next to the street/train rails what causes some noise (even during the night).

The noise from the train passing by is quite intense especially at night. But I was aware of it reading other reviews so it is fine.

Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist super! Das Frühstück war das beste, was wir auf unserer Reise hatten. Die Familie war sehr freundlich. Man kann die Bahngleise sehen und nach Galle Fort laufen.

Wenn nachts Züge vorbeifahren ist es ziemlich laut. Für uns war das kein Problem, ist aber gut vorher zu wissen.

There were some loud noises from the train and road work. The kind hostess warned me before the night and it was not too bad. For this price, I do not think you will get a better deal.

Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber, das Bett bequem, die Gastgeber extrem freundlich! Der Weg nach Galle Fort ist sehr kurz.

La gentillesse et le sourire de nos hôtes nous ont accompagnés pendant les deux jours et deux nuits que nous avons passés chez eux. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et de grande qualité. L'hébergement est très bien situé pour visiter la vieille ville et, pour couronner le tout, il est d'un rapport qualité-prix imbattable !

The room is very spacious and clean and the hosts are incredibly kind and helpful:) they let us park our tuktuk in front of their small shop in the building. And we got a little snack on our way out :) the location is also good, you can go to the fort on foot (around 15-20 minutes). I would reccommend:)

It may be problematic for people who have trouble falling asleep as there is a railway nearby, but if you have a pair of earplugs they will make you sleep like a baby regardless:)

A big thank you to the family for their welcome and hospitality, towards our children and ourselves. We had a wonderful week, filled with little attentions from the family. Our children will remember the hours spent playing with the family and we will remember for a long time the evenings spent chatting and exchanging about Sri Lanka. The room is very spacious and comfortable, the location is perfect for visiting the whole city! The breakfasts are a real delight! Very refined dishes that change every morning! Unbeatable value for money! We really enjoyed waking up and admiring just below our window, peacocks or squirrels! Central location, nice hosts, comfortable room, sufficient breakfast

Everything was perfect. The family was amazingly hospitable. Way above and beyond our expectations. The room was spotlessly clean. Super comfortable beds, the place was just awesome! We were leaving at 6am, the hostess made sure we had a cup of coffee before we left. Cannot find fault with anything. I would highly recommend Silver rail to everyone. Thank you family for your kindness 🙏

La chambre est spacieuse et propre. Les hôtes sont très aimables et aux petits soins pour nous. Madame nous a apporté un thé avant notre départ à 6 h du matin et Monsieur nous a emmené à la station de bus et nous a aidé à trouver un bus retour pour l'aéroport. Vraiment des personnes adorables. Ens ha encantat l’hospitalitat dels propietaris. Tenen una botiga a baix i també un tuk tuk que t’apropen fins al centre. L’habitació és gran i està súper bé. Mega net. Des de la finestra es veu la via del tren, però el soroll no molesta gens.

Està a 20 minuts a peu del centre: el camí nones fa gens pesat. I a sobre, el propietari t’ofereix sempre apropar-te amb tuk tuk sense cap cost.

La família ens ha acollit molt bé, ajudant-nos a trobar sopar, a aparcar el tuk tuk, ens han ofert menjar per endur gratuïtament, l’esmorzar era d’allò més complert! Tant que no ens l’hem pogut ni acabar… L’habitació és àmplia, còmode, està neta, i malgrat tenir les vies del tren al costat, el qual no ens ha molestat gens, recomanem molt aquest allotjament!

Great big room, very clean suitable for a family

The trains are so loud and ran throughout the night, beeping their horns, woke us ub several times.

We had a really wonderful stay at Silver Rail. The room was very big and very comfortable. The family who runs it was so welcoming, they offered us tea and a delicious breakfast. They even showed us how to make the pancakes we loved so that we can try to make them at home later 😋The location was good, we could walk to the Fort everyday. Thank you so much for your hospitality! :)

The location is wonderfully convenient, close to the Galle railway station (making it easy to come and go). It’s a pleasant 20-minute walk to the Fort area, which we enjoyed, especially after a hearty meal. The room is spacious and impeccably clean, with the entire top floor to ourselves. The balcony offers a breezy view of the railway tracks lined with palm trees, adding a nice touch of local charm. We slept so well in the comfortable beds with fresh sheets, and enjoyed the occasional sound of passing trains - a beautiful part of the Sri Lankan experience. The host family was incredibly kind and helpful. Their small kiosk on the ground floor was a handy addition! We also had our laundry done during our stay which is a life saver… Thank you Silver Rail for the truly relaxing experience!

Everything was perfect!

Location was great and the room we stayed in was very spacious and clean. Hot water was available and a/c working perfectly. The hosts were very kind and helpful, they also have a store right beneath the rooms so very convenient.

The room is spacious and very clean and the location is only about 20min walk to Galle Fort which was perfect! It’s also cool that it’s so close to the Railway - it’s not disturbing because the trains don’t run during the night. Would definitely recommend to stay at Silver Rail.

I liked everything!

The room was spacious and incredibly clean, the hosts greeted us when we arrived asking if we would like tea and biscuits brought up to our room and is within a 20 min walk of the Galle Fortress as well as the bus/train station.
