Ceylon Breeze Sigiriya

We stayed here for two nights and felt completely at home from the moment we arrived. What made our stay truly special was the incredible service of Dulanja, Asanka and the whole team. From the security staff and receptionists to the waiters and head chef – every single person was genuinely warm, attentive and helpful. Honestly, this was some of the best and most personal service we’ve ever experienced in a hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a lovely garden, a great pool and an amazing view of Lion Rock. Our room was very comfortable and tastefully decorated, and all the rooms have a view of the rock. We also had dinner at the restaurant and really enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere. We were genuinely sad to leave and would come back in a heartbeat. If you’re currently looking for a hotel in Sigiriya, you can stop searching now and book this one – you won’t regret it! :)

We hebben hier een super verblijf gehad. Eten was top! Bediening en personeel super vriendelijk. Altijd open om ons te adviseren bij activiteiten en het regelen van tuktuks en vervoer naar overal. Ook verbleven we in een super mooie kamer met een fijn bed en hygiënische badkamer (Inc jacuzzi). Kon me geen beter verblijf in Sigiriya wensen. Ben enorm blij dat we voor dit hotel gekozen hadden. Alles was zelfs beter dan we hadden verwacht.

De locatie is prachtig! Het is in het echt nog veel mooier dan op de foto’s. Je leeft er in alle rust. Kwartiertje rijden van Sigiriya centrum. Het personeel was ook zo ontzettend lief en behulpzaam

It is a good hotel in a quiet but convenient place with amazing views over Sigiriya. The staff is outstanding, they go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. Rooms are spacious and overall are quite comfortable. Breakfasts are decent.

There's some wear and tear in the rooms and bathrooms here and there, which didn't impact me much though. Bathrooms are a bit smelly, although I could tolerate that also. Parking is an open space with no shelter. If you are lucky, you can squeeze in one car in a shaded place, otherwise your car will be in open air. Power cut off a couple of times, but was restored quickly. In the photos there are jacuzzi type baths - however, there was no such bath in our bathroom. Those are just minor issues. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Très bien situé avec vue sur lion’s rock. Chambre impeccable, salle de bain spacieuse. Piscine à débordement et serviette à dispo dès qu’on y est. Environnement propre et paysagé. Personnel aux petits soins. Le petit déjeuner est incroyable et tout est frais et maison. Le dîner est délicieux, c’est plus cher qu’en ville évidement mais la qualité est incroyable. Le meilleur rice curry qu’on ait mangé. Super moment de détente dans un petit coin de paradis . À tester!

Great location - sunrise with view of Sigiriya and Pidarangula is fantastic - you can even take a swim in the pool and watch the sun rise. Very delicious breakfast with fresh fruits and juice, your choice of eggs and Sri Lankan pancakes and string hoppers.

Eine wunderbare Location mit viel Ruhe und wundervollen Menschen als Gastgebern. Haben sich wirklich rührend um alles gekümmert. Da wir mit dem TukTuk angereist sind konnten wir auch viel auf eigene Faust unternehmen. Wenn man abends noch etwas Trubel haben möchte ist man hier nicht richtig aufgehoben.

The view and the pool n the staff

We loved the location. It is a bit more remote but a quick Tuktuk to Sigiriya village or Lions Rock. It is nice to be surrounded by rice paddy fields. I saw a mongoose one morning. The private balcony is spacious. It has a very clean infinity pool. The breakfast is the best I've had in Sri Lanka. It is very generous and tasty. The evening meals are good too! I would recommend eating at the hotel restaurant. I had tuna tartare and a tuna burger both were delicious. The chef has trained internationally and you can tell as he is confident using different techniques and flavours. You can borrow bikes to explore the local area. The hotel can organise a safari to see elephants and a local village tour. All at very competitive rates!

The only drawback was that the bed was too firm for me. I asked if they could do anything, and they swapped the mattress with a softer one. Which was still too firm for me

I‘ve had a wonderful stay at Ceylon Breeze / Sigiriya Bliss. Small hotel, beautifully sized rooms, super quiet location, gorgeous views. AC was working fine and I loved hopping into the pool and then taking a warm showers after a day of exploring. The staff was extraordinary and helped me with whatever was on my mind. They went above and beyond to make my stay compfy, also as a solo traveler, which I really appreciated. Breakfast also was more than I could eat; there were fruits and oats, but also more hearty traditional Sri Lankan dishes and it was great fun trying everything. As of 2026, using PickMe is a fantastic and cheap way to get around and see the sights or grab food in the nearby towns. I would absolutely recommend staying here!

This is a beautiful new hotel with breathtaking views of Sigiriya Rock, the surrounding paddy fields, and the lush wilderness. The stunning infinity pool overlooking this spectacular landscape is undoubtedly one of the hotel’s standout features. The rooms are spacious, luxurious, and exceptionally comfortable, featuring high-end furnishings, premium amenities, plush mattresses, and comfortable pillows that ensure a restful stay. A special mention must go to the outstanding staff, whose kindness, professionalism, and genuine hospitality make every guest feel welcome and create a truly memorable experience. Our sincere thanks to restaurant & front office staff Lalitha, Dulanja, chef Roshan, his assistant Chamidu, house keeping staff Dhanushka, Nadeeshan, Hearth & Shehan, all of them are good workers with great attitude. The restaurant serves delicious food, and dinner is particularly enjoyable in such a beautiful setting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Sigiriya area.

Lovely location with stunning views of the grassland, sigyria rock and Pidarangula rock. The rooms are very spacious with air con, tea and coffee making facilities. The bed is huge and comfortable. The bathroom is large with plenty of hot water The staff made the place and are very helpful, smiling and nothing is too much trouble. The food was really good with a decent selection. The breakfasts particularly are very generous and served to your table.

The staff were very charming and forever helpful and the food was excellent and the super chef made us a special dinner of lake fish off the menu in the open upstairs dining area looking across at the 2 great rocks. The rooms spacious with balcony and view.

Dula makes you feel like a Queen & King. Lekker hotel, rustig en compact. Heerlijk zwembad met bedjes en parasols. Super om van hieruit de Pidurangala Rock of Lion’s Rock te doen. En vooral om een paar dagen te chillen. Overdadig ontbijt, lekker diner, mooie ruime kamers en dus vooral top gastheerschap door Dula en zijn staf!

We had a wonderful stay at Ceylon Breeze Hotel. The room was spacious, very comfortable, and spotlessly clean. The property itself is beautiful, with a lovely infinity pool set in the garden and an amazing view of Sigiriya Rock in the background. The food was excellent throughout our stay. The chef clearly takes pride in his work, and every meal was fresh, tasty, and beautifully prepared. What really made this place special, however, was the service. Every member of the staff was exceptionally polite, cheerful, and attentive. They paid attention to every detail and always seemed to know when help was needed, yet they were never intrusive. Creating this balance is not easy, and they did it perfectly. Their genuine warmth and professionalism made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived until the day we left. Many hotels have nice rooms and good food, but truly outstanding service is much rarer. The team at Ceylon Breeze made our stay memorable, and we would gladly return.

The whole hotel exceeded our expectations. It was spacious clean and beautifully decorated. The food was absolutely spot on but more than anything, as previous guests have said, the staff were absolutely delightful, polite and friendly and went out of their way to make sure our stay was as perfect as possible. Every morning greeting us with warm smiles and couldn’t do enough for us. Whole heartedly recommend to future guests

This was such a hidden gem. The views were unbelievably good, staff super friendly and attentive to every need… they even bought playing cards for us on our first night!

The property was brand new and had a few teething problems with things like having the amazing pool ready and streaming services set up… but they were so attentive they fixed things immediately!

Wunderschöne und ruhig gelegene Anlage. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt, waren leider nur 1 Nacht - hier könnte man es aber definitiv ein paar Tage länger aushalten. Der Pool ist ein absoluter Traum und sehr sauber! Essen war richtig lecker und eine riesige Auswahl an Gerichten. Das Personal war super freundlich und zuvorkommend! Wir hatten einen etwas größeren Gekko im Zimmer, der Manager ist extra in unserer Zimmer und hat ihn gefangen! Die Zimmer sind riesig und das Bad der absolute wahnsinn, hab sowas noch nie gesehen diese Badewanne unglaublich! Wir haben die Unterkunft aufgrund der Lage gewählt, weil wir ganz früh zum Lions Rock wollten, dort wurden hin gefahren und auch wieder abgeholt, kostenlos. Haben uns hier wirklich rund um wohl gefühlt und würden wieder kommen, wenn wir mal wieder nach Sri Lanka gehen. Beste Grüße aus Deutschland 🇩🇪

This was our favorite hotel out of the four hotels we stayed at during our 16-day trip to Sri Lanka. We loved everything about it! The hotel feels incredibly homey and personal. The staff are amazing genuinely thoughtful, warm, and attentive. They give you all the privacy you want while always being available whenever you need anything. We stayed here for four nights, and our kids (ages 3 and 5) absolutely loved the pool and the bathtub. In fact, they were more excited about the hotel than some of our tour activities! The chef even asked us what we wanted for breakfast, and we requested Sri Lankan breakfast. He made sure we got to try different local dishes every morning, and everything was delicious. We actually had dinner at the hotel every night too because the food was just that good. We never felt the need to look for other places to eat. We will definitely be back and stay longer next time. This hotel showed us that what truly makes a stay special isn’t how grand the property is, but how welcome and comfortable it makes you feel. Thank you to the entire team for making our family vacation so memorable.

Stayed for 3 nights. The property looks nice, rooms are modern and very clean. The biggest surprise was the staff, always smiling, friendly and very helpful.

An absolutely amazing hotel - comfy room, huge bathroom, great view over Lion's Rock, a great pool, the food was amazing and came in astonishingly big portions. The biggest thing that stood out was the care and attention from the staff, who were all super helpful and friendly throughout our stay.

My stay here was absolutely unforgettable. The view of the Lion Rock from my room was breathtaking, and the atmosphere was truly magical. But what really made the experience exceptional was the team. Everyone was so warm and genuine; it felt less like staying in a hotel and more like being with family. We had an amazing stay here for 4 nights. The staff do their utmost best to make you feel at home and help you. Even provided a birthday cake for the wife! You have a stunning view on Lion Rock from everywhere; restaurant, pool, balcony. Although you need a 10-15 min TukTuk for the city, the views are worth it, and restaurant has plenty options to keep you covered.

Minor detail is that the breakfast (fruit, toast, egg) gets repetitive when staying as long as we did. If we had more choice/variation, the hotel would be a 10/10.

Should have real coffee, not instant

El alojamiento es increíble. La habitación es súper cómoda, con mucho espacio y un balcón con unas vistas preciosas. El personal es súper atento, siempre dispuestos a ayudar. Y el desayuno es un banquete, muchísima comida, muy rica. Pero lo mejor sin duda es la piscina y las maravillosas vistas hacia Sigiriya y los campos de arroz. Te sientes en un safari constante por la inmensa fauna que te rodea, vimos cigüeñas, águilas, garzas y un sinfín de pájaros. También decenas de mariposas, luciérnagas e incluso una mangosta en los campos de arroz. Por la noche las estrellas se ven increíble. Es un lugar mágico en Sri Lanka.

We had an unbelievable experience. The scenery was serene, the property was remote to the villages. The view was majestic. We relaxed so much in just 2 days and regret not staying longer. The pool was well maintained and we enjoyed our time there, they also offered towels. There were some cows eating around(they had a rope holding them) The room was super spacious, clean, nice bed and the bathroom was luxury. The balcony was really nice in views, can see the sigiriya rock! The staff were attentive, super helpful and discreet. Also super responsive to any messages or ad hoc requests. The breakfast was probably the best I ever had in any hotel, you must try their Sri Lankan omelette, but also the fruits were fresh and we had a variety of local treats served to you(no buffet and I think that was good) I hoped I do not forget anything, but we had a fantastic time and would recommend 10/10. It’s a higher price than average in Sri Lanka, but the value of money was simply unmatched to any other.

I can’t find a single thing I didn’t like. The location is a little far from the village, but a tuk tuk or a driver should serve well.

The property has a wonderful view over the rice paddy. The rooms were nicely appointed and very comfortable, great hot showers and nice linens. The breakfast was outstanding with each day different yummy choices. The staff are extremely helpful and the kids loved the pool. It has a separate pool for smaller children which worked great with my youngest great granddaughter. We had dinner there twice and the food was very tasty and we did not have to wait forever either. So overall I would rate this hotel as a definitely come back to place.

We had a lovely stay. The property is very clean and clearly well taken care of, and the location is calm and relaxing. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our visit. Our room was spacious, nicely decorated, and the view from the balcony was beautiful. Breakfast was also very nice and a great way to start the day. The only small downside is that the property is a bit remote from the town, but it’s easy to get there with a quick tuk-tuk ride. Overall, a very pleasant experience and we would happily stay again.

It’s a perfect place to relax and enjoy the calm surroundings while still being close to Sigiriya. Everything was well cared for, and the personal hospitality made our stay even more memorable. Honestly, this place was even better than the pictures — and that says a lot. The views of Pidurangala and Lion Rock are absolutely insane. Waking up to that landscape, in total peace and quiet, felt surreal. The location is so calm and secluded, which made the whole stay incredibly relaxing. The rooms are beautiful and very spacious, with a big, super comfortable bed that I genuinely struggled to leave in the mornings. But what truly made the experience special was the staff. They were absolutely lovely and so attentive, always checking in to make sure I had everything I needed. They made me feel genuinely cared for and welcomed, not just like another guest. A special thank you to Dulanja, who was particularly kind — he brought me a first aid kit when I had an injury and was always responsive on WhatsApp whenever I needed anything. That level of care really stood out. Breakfast was great, and they even packed one for me on the day I had an early safari, which I really appreciated.

If I had to mention one small downside, it’s that the hotel is a bit far from town, so you’ll need a tuk tuk to get around. That said, I was so comfortable and happy there that I barely wanted to leave anyway. One small note is that the staff were all men; as a woman travelling solo, I always appreciate seeing women working where I’m staying, as it feels more inclusive and a bit easier to relate.

Room was fabulous, spacious & clean, good view of the 2 Rocks. The area was nice and serene. Staff were lovely and breakfast & meals were fresh and delicious.

A little far from the main strip, however easily accessible by tuk tuk. We experienced a couple of power interruptions but was quickly resolved.

Pick Me was a problem and we struggled to get tuk tuks though the hotel helped. We ended up paying out more than anticipated. Breakfast was a bit disappointing with small portions, especially fruit. Available bicycles would have enhanced our stay

We loved this property. A favourite of the entire trip. Peaceful nature, unending views over the rice paddies to Lion and Elephant Rock. Under Ashanka as the new manager since the end of December the property is blooming and Roshan as the chef harvesting fruits grown right in the garden the food is FANTASTIC. This is a gem. The rooms are large, the showers incredible and gorgeous bathtubs giving Marrakech vibes. We spent almost an entire day in the super clean infinity pool gazing over the green rice fields and as birders with the Merlin app we found so many bird species. The tree out front hosts a gorgeous male peacock on his roost each evening and the sun rises right over Lion Rock if you are up early. Don’t skip the Sri Lankan breakfast and rice and curry dinners here. Absolutely top drawer.

As you can see from all the recent reviews this hotel is very good. The new owner staff, chef go above and beyond to make your stay here the best it can be. The rooms are excellent. The property is going to be renamed soon.

It was an amazing peaceful location .Visinity to popular attractions was best as it cut down travel time. First day they treated us with wonderful Srilanka lunch with an elaborate spread. They ensured we were comfortable and could get best options. Would love to recommend and visit again

Le Ceylon Breeze est niché au milieu de la nature. L’endroit est absolument magnifique et paisible. La piscine à débordement offre une vue panoramique sur les rizières ainsi que les fameux Lion Rock et Pidurangala Rock ! Vous saurez rapidement vous laisser porter par le bruit des oiseaux et des paons. L’ensemble du personnel est une gentillesse infinie, Asila en charge du service tout particulièrement. Il est extrêmement attentionné, souriant et disponible pour ses clients. Nous le remercions de tout cœur car il a rendu notre séjour encore plus exceptionnel ! Nous avons opté pour la demi pension (petit dej et dîner). Tout était excellent, fait minute avec des produits frais et une carte variée qui convient aux vegans. Pour finir, le rapport qualité prix est exceptionnel. Nous avons eu une très belle surprise à ce propos. Lorsque vous arrivez à la piscine, une personne vient vous apporter tout de suite des serviettes. Au moment du repas, Asila tire la chaise pour que je m’installe. À la fin du dîner, une personne vous accompagne jusqu’à votre chambre avec une lampe torche pour vous éclairer le chemin ! Je n’ai jamais vu ça c’est formidable ! Et cette même personne est là aussi tôt le matin (5:00 am) vous accompagne également jusqu’à votre taxi. En somme, je ne peux que recommander cet hôtel :)

Ceylon Breeze is very beautiful and peaceful with gorgeous views across the rice fields to both Pidurangala and Sigiriya Rock. The rooms are spacious and lovely. The infinity pool is a good size and I was able to do laps. What made our stay so special was the fabulous staff, nothing was too much trouble and everyone was so attentive and helpful. Dilmah at reception was so kind and helpful, Asela our waiter always smiled and remembered how I like my tea, Dilum looked after our rooms and was always there when needed, the chef Roshan cooked wonderful meals, the owner/manager Sanjeewe went out of his way to find me some swimming goggles and he has chosen his staff extremely well. We highly recommend this lovely boutique hotel.

Vakkert sted ca 15-20min unna byen. Stort rom med flott utsikt over lion rock og pidurangala, samt fint innredet. Personalet var vennlige. Bassengområdet var behagelig å slappe av ved. Maten på stedet stod også over forventning. Vi kommer gjerne tilbake hit.
