La gentillesse du personnel
C’était très sale, pas du tout ressemblant aux photos, vraiment une horreur on avait prit 3 nuits on est parties dès le premier. Première fois de ma vie qu’on s’en va d’un hôtel !
Everything
Al-Shawarbee Hotel is one of the best places to stay in Downtown Cairo! Great location, clean rooms, and very professional and friendly staff. Highly recommended for anyone looking for comfort at a reasonable price! 👌✨"
It was okey for the cheapest price. Stuff was very nice and friendly, they can help you to change the money, breakfast was good and the room was warm enough for the begging of February
The host lady was very kind, and despite not able to speak English but very smart and able to find solutions or at least look for them.
Inconveniently located on the 4th floor, in the middle of an alley that no car passes by, and you have to carry your luggage from your ride to the entrance , carry 10-15 more flight of stairs then to reach the very old and scary elevator. WiFi signal dropped all the time, with weak security. Loud from street noise. Uncomfortable shower. Nothing close to one star even. Not sure why popped in 3star ranking.
Nothing
Everything
The location was great and the receptionist mr Hadi was amazing to help the staff are amazing
To be honest, only the Staff, as they are very polite,
Every single point, the noise around the hotel, no facilities were available, the bed was really harmful, the toilets and Bath !, the sofa was like a piece of broken wood, it wasn’t even as expect
Friendly and Helpful staff.
Location was in a busy place with easy access to food, amenities and transport. Some of the landmarks are walkable like Egyptian national museum. Staff was good especially Ms. Iman who was constantly in touch for assuring smooth check in. Ms. Sehar, Mahmoud and Sameh did a good job with the service.
The property needs a serious upgrade. Everything seems to be very old. On first night the Aircondition didn’t work after several attempts to fix. It was fixed next day. Bed was broken. There were ants. Facilities listed were not all there. There was no view. Breakfast was monotonous and bland. Only tea/coffee, egg omelette, salad, cheese and fig jam with pocket peta bread. No water or other options for kids. Place is small. Owner refused to charge my card which was used during the booking and insisted on cash.
exceptional service from all staff, Mahmoud, Shawky, Sa Har, Mr Ibrahim, who did everything possible to make me welcome and have a comfortable and memorable stay. Reliable wi-fi. Top location Downtown Cairo, many cafes and restaurants nearby. Highly recommended, will definitely stay here again.
there is no expresso coffee machine.
Location and friendly staffs
Internet and windows Too much noise from street shop
The hotel is in the middle of the centre and close to the Nile River, the Egyptian museum and the famous Khan el-Khalili bazaar. The staff in the hotel was very helpful and always looked after our comfort. Breakfast was also good and a demonstration of a typical one in Egypt, I enjoyed it and recommend it. Good value for money for the service and the facilities, but the staff certainly supersedes this.
The bathroom was a bit old. The shower didn't have any separation from the toilet, so everything gets wet once you take a shower.
The team from the owner Ibrahim, Shawky, Hamd, and the rest of the team. Lovely people treated as like family went above and beyond. Ibrahim presented as with gifts. Engineer Shawky, a real artist, made some lovely gifts for all Nice clean tidy , always willing to help. Great Central location
Spacious Room Very good location with restaurants nearby Khan el Khalili market is only 10mins by taxi
No wifi inside the room No proper bathroom door Airport shuttle and tours are very expensive. Uber is cheaper option They only accept GBP or USD Very basic breakfast
The rooms were spacious, clean and modern. Bathroom was clean also. The staff were friendly and felt like family. Big thanks to Engineer Shawki and Hamd who made our stay very comfortable and provided us with everything we needed, including special handmade gifts. They go out of their way each day to make your stay a memorable one. Breakfast was also very tasty and included a large variety. Cleaners clean room excellently and all staff very smiley. Very good value for money and I recommend anyone staying in Egypt to stay at this hotel. Al Shawarbi Plaza hotel feels like home with the comfortable rooms and those working there feel like family. Best hotel I’ve ever stayed at and I can’t thank those working there enough for all the hard work they have put in throughout the week! Thank you for making us all feel so welcome
Room size and location
Entrance and building is bit old. Loud music outside
There wasn’t a single thing we enjoyed.
Avoid risking your holidays by spending even a single day at this 'hotel.' The interior was incredibly dirty. I usually consider myself easygoing, but this place was outright disgusting. Upon checking in, we requested replacement sheets as the provided ones were unclean; disappointingly, we received only one clean sheet. Additionally, the beds were so uncomfortable that it was almost impossible to get a good night's sleep. We resorted to buying our own flip flops just to use the bathroom. Moreover, we had to purchase our own toilet paper, as the hotel did not supply any, nor did they provide basic amenities like shampoo or shower gel. To make matters worse, I am quite certain I suffered bug bites, as I woke up each morning with an urge to scratch and noticed pimples on my hands. Three more things I have to add here: the entrance does not give you the idea that this is hotel, plus the entrance is incredibly dirty and there is weird, bad smell in the hallways and the rooms of this hotel.
Location was ok
1. The hotel didn't accept card. Asked to pay in USD and didn't accept EGP. They finally accepted GBP and refunded me in EGP, which was annoying. 2. The room was noisy 3. Lift didn't work at check-out and had to carry suitcases from 4th floor. No help from Staff. 4. Airport shuttle doesn't exist but shown on booking.com
We were treated so well! Came 4 hours before check in and they let us use the room without problems! We felt so comfortable!
It was close to the Egyptian museum and river Nile , many shops around to buy food , drinks or clothes . Breakfast is included
A bit noisy so pack your noise cancelling earbuds so you can sleep well
A great and clean hotel I highly recommend it... especially Abdullah and ShawqiThey will help you with everything and trips with them are enjoyable
Good value for money. Staff were very friendly and helpful Location was great
Great location Staff very helpful with any request
Nothing
It is what you pay.
The owner charged us more than what booking said and more than agreed. Booking said 55$ and he charged us 55€, which amounts to 60$ at the moment. Also, we agreed on 20€ (which is already very pricey) for airport pick-up and he charged us 30€. He said this was because he had to wait, but I warned him that the flight was delayed and that we needed to do passport control, visa and changing money, so he already knew. I have the WhatsApp conversation as proof. We did not refuse because we did not feel safe.
Good location, close to metro station, restaurants and shopping. Breakfast and staff were generally helpful and welcoming.
Bathroom was small no soundproofing so the street noises come straight up. You are on a pedestrian only street so no car noises though.
The staff are very friendly, clean room
Okay location.
Too far from central, not enough towels, shower leaked. WiFi is very poor and poor cleanliness
it is located in central area of Cairo, right in the middle of busy market place,
no one knows about the hotel...hotel is part of a tall building having only 4th floor to itself so there is no reception at entrance of building, one gets confused to find the hotel / reach the 4th floor. one room AC was not working. All windows were crack opened and not sealing due to ac drain pipe passing from the window so cant close / lock the windows, and there is gap so warm air keeps coming in. Bathroom doors are flexible foldable plastic type so cant lock it, shower was not held in place but kept on the tap below in washroom. Water is not provided in the room on arrival, it has to be paid for . not much of a kitchen available, there is a small pantry arrangement so food may be an issue. we had all meals outside except a veg dinner for 2 on one night.
clean
nothing was like what it said on booking.com
Clean room nice staff.
Breakfast need improvement.
The location was good
The noise outside . and one of the stuff his name mahmoud he treat us very bad. The bathroom was so bad
Staff were all nice (except the manager) and the location was great.
To begin with the manager refused to accept any card payments and insisted that I go and get him cash at 1 am at night before he can even allow me to leave my luggage in the room. This was the most disgusting welcome I have ever seen from any hotel in the world. The hotel is poorly maintained, toilet lacks basic items and the bed was broken. Wi-Fi is non-existent even if you are given a passcode.
- some of the staff are very kind and will say good morning and ask how you are doing which was really nice ! - the staff offered an extra fan for the room when the air conditioning was not working well so that was nice!
- management on the day of arrival wasn’t great , I had to spend 1hr before I got the desired rooms which I confirmed on booking. Prior to coming to the hotel , I asked if I can check in later due to my flight and they confirmed it’s fine on the app but on the day they acted as if they weren’t expecting me and acted strange ! it is a horrible experience to have after a long flight. - Some of the towels are not clean and have stains on them. - the hotel is based on the 4th floor of a building that you have do some walking from the main road to reach . it was not desirable if you have a lot of luggage as you will have to walk through busy streets. - breakfast was same every day
Nice bed and pillow. All the basics you should have in an hotel to spend a few nights, such as toilet paper, or towel is there. Silent. Clean. Badass view from the toilet window. Only a few blocks from a metro station.
In reality they ask you to pay 15% more than it shows on the booking. I wouldn't call it "breakfast included", more like: snack included. The change is only in egyptian pounds - they won't give you any dollars. There is no window in the room. The door has a rather large gap at the bottom, so anything happes in the hallway it is in your room, including the light.
Breakfast and the location are good.
1/ The bathroom was so bad and dangerous(construction). 2/ I made extention for two nights, 19 and 20 May. I want to complain that the hotel refused my booking on the ground that the all rooms are occupied. Rejecting a confirmed booking had cost me much time and money in addition to the inconvenience.
the location is perfect in down town yet quiet shops restaurants metro all different restaurants very affordable some even cheap always ask for menu
tv didn’t work I didn’t get a towel till next day short of towels the hawkers on the street in the shops shouting watch out they selling the clothes 4 times more then usual price toilet need water draining whole might start to smell soon if water doesn’t go to the draining
The location is super central, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast is very resonable. Room and toilet are basic and reasonably clean. Good price/quality ratio
Old building (the hotel floor is renewed), poor maintenance and the cleaning....could be better, there is room to improve
Nice small hotel in the middle of the city. It feels like you came to visit your relatives) All the stuff are very kind and ready to help you. The owner even gave us nice hand-made gifts) Good breakfast.
You need to be prepared that building is quite old, as well as furniture, air condition and bathroom. But everything is clean. So, for this price, It's a good offer.
Location staff value for money
Mahmoud, the owner was very kind and helpful. He also gave us great recommendations.
Great location in a busy pedestrian area full of shopping opportunities. Quiet , closed to National Museum. Super friendly staff and manager. Helpful on request and not pushing! We liked it very much. Budget hotel.
Friendly stuff ,clean place
Nothing
Location is very noisy beacuse the clothes shops and music full sound
Water heater shall be in the room and
Great, service, staff, organizations everything is going well ❤️🩹
The room was clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting
Nothing
the price and the staff
basically every furniture is broken. it’s so difficult to find this hotel since no hotel name at the first floor. if you search the hotel name on google map, there is another hotel with exactly same name so that you might be navigated to wrong hotel.
Stayed 1 night at the hotel .. staff very nice and helpful.. room is nice and clean.. if I have any reservation I will be back here
