Der Erste Eindruck vom Hotel und der Poolanlage war gut. Wir haben ein kostenloses Zimmerupgrade bekommen.

Das Zimmer neben uns war soo laut und die Personen haben die halbe Nacht in ihr Handy geschrieen und Lärm gemacht. Wir haben 2 mal an der Rezeption angerufen, dass sie das bitte klären sollen aber es passierte nichts. Wir haben dann bei den Nachbarn geklopft, um zu signalisieren dass Sie um 12 Uhr Nachts zu laut sind. Daraufhin wurden wir von der Rezeption angerufen mit der Bitte nicht mehr bei den Nachbarn zu klopfen. Furchtbare Nacht ohne Hilfe des Hotels !! Personal war nicht hilfreich und das Frühstück sehr stressig und hektisch. Am nächsten Morgen wurden wir nicht mal gefragt wie unser Aufenthalt war, nur dass wir eine Bewertung abgeben sollen.

There was also a bit of a lack of choice for dinner foods (given there is not much in the town either). It was buffet every night - it would have been nice to have had a sit down restaurant too. Although, the buffet food was good. Some things were slightly lacking which you wouldn’t expect from a hotel of the rating/price. For example (a minor thing), there was a games room but all the ping pong balls we’re cracked and unusable. There is a service charge added on every item. No problem whatsoever with tipping, however it was often difficult to get served by waiting staff around the bar so you would go to the bar yourself more often than not and still pay the charge.

La struttura è nuova e tenuta in maniera impeccabile, cosi come la pulizia delle stanze e l'accortezza per i dettagli. La nostra camera era a dir poco stupenda e spaziosa. La piscina pulita, i lettini comodi e la spiaggia paradisiaca. COlazione, Pranzo e cena con menù variegati, locali e deliziosi. Tre differenti location per la ristorazione e in tal modo si ha la possibilita di mangiare cose diverse in posti diversi del resort. Molto comodo l'honey beach bar sulla spiagggia per un sandwich veloce a pranzo. Suggestivo il cocktail bar fronte piscina per un aperitivo e ottimo il ristorante per cene con buffet! Un posto romantico e un'oasi di relax

Siamo un po' amareggiati per le tasse che vengono aggiunte dopo ogni acquisto e per qualsiasi cosa. Rovinano un po' il piacere di bere o mangiare extra. Tasse troppo alte

The grounds and setting at Amaya are beautiful, with lovely views of the beach and a large pool. Our Executive Suite was spacious, comfortable and well air-conditioned. The spa treatment we received was also excellent. Though the spa has a ‘weird oily smell’, it is definitely worth a visit for treatment.

Unfortunately, our stay did not quite live up to our expectations. Perhaps our expectations were slightly higher than usual, as we had stayed at several beautiful properties with outstanding service throughout our honeymoon. We also chose the Executive Suite to make the occasion extra special. Our main issue was a persistent sewage smell coming from the shower. We noticed it on the first night, and by the following day the smell had become much stronger and was noticeable throughout the room. We reported it to reception and were assured it would be resolved. However, the room was cleaned twice without addressing the underlying problem. We raised the issue for a third time and were eventually told there was nothing more they could do. We were also told that the hotel had been very busy and that they do not carry out deep cleans between guests, which was surprising to hear. We were offered use of the adjoining room to shower in, along with a 30-minute spa treatment, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, when we needed it, the adjoining room was locked, and nobody came to resolve this despite us waiting that evening and the following day. Fortunately, another member of the cleaning team thoroughly scrubbed the shower the next day, which reduced the smell, so we simply made do for the rest of our stay. We also found the service to be friendly but not particularly attentive or proactive. On one occasion, we ordered two G&Ts but only one arrived. On another, we returned a glass of wine that had clearly gone off. We were offered a replacement, which we accepted, but were then charged for the replacement drink as well. Given the high rating, the Executive Suite and, the fact that this was our honeymoon, we expected a higher level of service and more effective handling of problems. Perhaps we were simply unlucky during our stay, but were ultimately left disappointed.

He beach side position was fantastic with beautiful sunsets. All the food was well presented and tasted great. All staff were very friendly and helpful.

There are some lovely things about this hotel: the location, the gardens, the setting et cetera. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, spacious and spotless clean.

However, there are some real drawbacks. The hotel was very very noisy. Every evening there was music blasting from private events happening both within the hotel and neighbouring the hotel. If you’re looking for a place where you have bass music thumping through your hotel room, then this is the place for you. If you want to sit in a bar with loud music from 430 in the afternoon, then you’ll enjoy it. If, however, you are looking for something peaceful, where you can sit looking at the stars and enjoy the beach, then you might want to look elsewhere.

A pleasant hotel with lovely rooms, excellent facilities, beautiful grounds and attentive staff. The breakfasts were exceptional.

Our two-night stay coincided with loud events on both evenings: a local festival adjacent to the resort and a private party taking place directly in front of our room. We received only a few hours’ notice each afternoon that the music would continue late into the night, significantly disrupting our stay. Guests should be informed well in advance about events that may affect their comfort, particularly when paying full rates. Aside from this issue, the staff provided exceptional hospitality overall, and management compensated us with complimentary drinks.

Struttura molto bella, grande, pulita, bel interior design. Intorno alla struttura c’è poco. Ottimo il servizio SPA, bello il tratto di spiaggia del resort con molti coralli che per qualcuno potrebbe rendere difficoltosa la balneazione ma c’è la possibilità di noleggiare gratuitamente delle scarpette adatte direttamente in spiaggia. Ok il servizio ristorazione con un buffet ampio, anche se la sala risulta piuttosto caotica.

Niente. Uniche eventuali criticità affollamento della sala buffet e il tratto di mare. A mio parere qualche regolare più stretta sull’utilizzo della piscina, quando ci siamo stati noi c’erano bambini che giocavano liberamente a palla all’interno rendendo poco piacevole la balneazione degli altri ospiti.

Mi è piaciuto il design e l’eleganza della struttura.

Purtroppo il mare davanti alla struttura è ricco di coralli e l’acqua è molto bassa quindi risulta difficile farsi una bella nuotata.

Durchwegs superfreundliches, hilfsbereites und geschultes Personal. Wunderschöne, weitläufige Anlage mit ausreichend vielen Sonnenliegen auf dem Gelände. Die Familiensuite (Zimmer 1201) hat einen Balkon mit traumhaftem Blick auf die Anlage und das Meer inklusive Sonnenuntergang. Wir haben uns im Amaya Beach sehr wohl gefühlt.

Die Anlage wird von unzähligen Krähen in den Palmen und Bäumen bevölkert, die leider gerne ihre Exkremente auf den Sonnenliegen unter den schattenspendenden Palmen hinterlassen. Positiv hervorzuheben ist jedoch, dass die Poolboys die Liegen auf Hinweis wieder sauber machen.

Beautiful location and lovely design. Felt relaxed. And spacious. The rooms were very comfortable and the bar was lovely. Food was good and staff friendly. The pool was a good size and the gardens pretty.

Chambre vue mer, proximité immédiate de la plage, piscine vue mer, petit déjeuner buffet avec des plats continentaux et sri lankais frais.

Le rapport qualité prix n’est pas bon. À 250€ la nuit environ, on s’attend à un lit de meilleure qualité (lit qui grince et matelas moyen), l’esthétique de l’hôtel est variable (il y a des espaces agréables et bien décorés, d’autres plus vieillissants), baignoire annoncée mais pas de baignoire dans la chambre. Concernant la piscine, pas de parasols ni de matelas pour tous les transats. Il y a une colonie de corbeaux à l’extérieur qui attend pour voler la nourriture et crie toute la journée y compris tôt le matin, vole autour de la piscine… ça gâche vraiment l’expérience. Enfin, les prix sont indiqués sans taxe : il convient de rajouter à peu près 30% à tout ce que vous consommez au restaurant/bar. Sachant qu’on a du réclamer lors du checkout la réduction de 10% à laquelle on avait droit via Booking et que celle-ci n’a pas été calculée correctement. Ça fait beaucoup de points négatifs pour un hôtel qui coûte si cher.

Really nice hotel, we loved it, Amazing room, with greate view if the beach, good access to the beach and see, but there are rock and corals so you need shoes!, Lovely pool, greate food, also in the evenning. very nice staff, all facilities you can want, gym, bicycles, bar, games, water sport of all kinds.... Nice style

There is no good beach in front of the hotel It is all coral and can’t go to the water Next to the hotel is public beach and was full with local people playing games there We had to go far from the hotel to access the beach and the ocean which was a real disappointment When we booked the hotel if we knew about the coral beach we would have chosen some other hotel

La vue mer, la chambre (chambre famille), le choix des boissons au bar.

Le service reste à améliorer car beaucoup d’attente, piscine pas adaptée et pas assez profonde. Dommage qu’un kids club soit mentionné dans les services alors qu’il est inexistant. Pas assez de variété au buffet, et une trop grosse partie consacrée au saveurs locales très épicées au petit déjeuner comme au dîner.

overall we had a pleasant stay at Amaya beach. The hotel room was spacious with beautiful sea views. However, a few areas could be improved.

While the beach itself looks lovely, the heavy coral makes swimming quite difficult. Additionally, the pool bar was decent but it lacked the right ambiance. Another downfall was that when we checked in, our hotel room was not ready for another hour or so. After a long time travelling, it would have been nice to arrive and check straight in to our room.

Todo! La localización es espectacular, la piscina, el desayuno, el spa es increíble! Y delante una playa privada que es un sueño!

En el bar de la piscina a veces tardaban mucho en traer la comida ( a veces hasta 1 hora) como posible mejora pero había una chica trabajando llamada Dodmi que es una maravilla! Siempre con una sonrisa y haciendo la estancia mucho más agradable!

The resort itself is very nice - people very kind, rooms and building clean, great commodities like the pool, and location is great just in the front of the beach. Awesome views from the room windows. The beach just in front of the beach is shallow, but it has quite some rocks/broken coral. If you just walk 50 meters to left, public beach is better - still shallow, but only sand. The public beach gets crowded specially on weekends.

Unfortunately, the pool area and beach in front is not as pleasant as it could be. Too much people, and unfortunately not all of them are well behaved. You can find used glasses, cigarette butts, icecream wrapping... although I am sure the hotel employees do what they can, but it is difficult to handle such amount of rich-wannabes obstinated in burning their skin until red. For some reason, I guess beach and summer, this happens here and not in other Sri Lanka areas where you can pay half of the money for a same quality, without this people.

The downside is that there were not a lot of things to do nearby other than the hotel itself and the various water sports.

Le personnel gentil, souriant et disponible. La taille de la chambre, la solidité du mobilier et son niveau de confort. Surtout, les mets sri lankais à la carte et au buffet, particulièrement au petit déjeuner. Ils étaient sublimes. Le petit déjeuner était très bien de manière générale : j’étais juste déçue par le fait que j’étais à peu près le seul touriste occidental à vouloir profiter des plats locaux. Quel dommage d’en rester au pancakes quand il y a tout un monde culinaire à découvrir ! La beauté du bâtiment principal - la réception, les cours aux frangipaniers, les belles perspectives..

De la musique très très forte notre premier jour (un dimanche) - dans les bars et aussi juste à côté chez les locaux. Même notre chambre 5002 n’était pas au calme (elle était à côté du beach bar et de la fête foraine). Heureusement les autres jours étaient beaucoup plus calmes. L’absence de toute geste évidente en faveur de l’environnement. L’hôtel doit générer des montagnes de bouteilles en plastique. Or on est dans une région où la pollution au plastique est terrible. Il faudrait instaurer un système d’eau filtrée et bouillie servie en carafe (et payante pour en couvrir les frais). Alimentation gaspillée - il doit y en avoir des tonnes. A quand un méthaniseur pour en faire de l’énergie ? Une partie du clientèle pas irrespectueux des normes de comportement sri lankais. Par ex. Se déplacer jusqu’à la réception (vaste et formelle) torse nu (homme) ou en bikini string. Même en Europe ça ne se fait pas alors ici…

L espace des parties communes et des chambres qui sont très grandes avec une belle hauteur sous plafond ainsi qu une belle vue mer!

Le service n est pas à la hauteur de l établissement. L attente est très longue que ce soit pour un jus ou un lunch. Il faut se lever pour demander des verres alors que la bouteille d eau est amenée sur a table et pareil pour les couverts au moment du déjeuner à leur paillote de plage.

Check in was a very weird experience, the person at the front desk was unfriendly and made me uncomfortable Room on check in was absolutely full of mosquitos which was horrifying after weeks in sri lanka without that experience in other lesser * hotels, the room was "cleaned" but definitely lots of areas not cleaned including a gekko living in the bathroom and a lot of dust Safe in the room broke and had to call front desk multipe times to fix Cocktails were overly sweet but good menu overall Did not use the pool as it had no shade and was small for size of hotel, full of people and kids, they have lots of space so could definitely have more than 1 pool Hotel overall is dated and needs a lot of TLC and effort put in to improve

We enjoyed our luxurious stay at Amaya. The staff were fantastic and were eager to help. One member of staff, Ajith, even noticed my little boy had an elephant toy so made him one out of a towel. The restaurant manager (and her team) went out of the way to make special meals for our children with allergies- thank you for this.

Whilst a lot of the allergens are clearly signposted, it isn’t the case for all foods available (puddings and cooked meat for example) and soy is not mentioned (nor nuts come to think of it).

Great facilities. Pool and bar area were lovely. Rooms were great and had a TV and great view.

We paid for the full board experience which included breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was ok but dinner was very disappointing food wise although the outlook was nice.

Hotel presentation was good. Staff were very friendly. Food at the buffet was goo adn always fresh. A wide selection but not as much as thought for 2 of our guests which were Gluten free. Rooms were excellent and I highly recommend a garden level room. Very easy to access the pool, beach and bar.

Wine list was very poor. Very limited stock of what they did have.....

The breakfast & dinner was nice. The food of the in room dining service was amazing. F&B Manger Suji was very friendly and helpful. He inherits the true attributes of hospitality. Vastly experienced with his hospitality exposure out of Sri Lanka. He is surely an asset to the hotel and a true brand ambassador to your esteem establishment.

I notified the hotel that if possible the rooms to be ready by 2pm but unfortunately had to wait till about 3.30pm to get all the 3 rooms. I do understand that its not a 100% fault of the hotel as the rooms were back to back and it was large group who were occupied in our rooms that did not check-out at the standard time. Due to the inconvenience, FO manager (female) offered us a late check-out but we humbly refused it as we totally understood the situation during our check-in.

Nice property. Best for large families with kids. Pool was sufficiently large and the staff was friendly and courteous.

The buffet was average. There weren't any good restaurants near the hotel - we had to eat our breakfast, lunch and dinner at Amaya for four days. The food felt very repetitive and was not the highest quality.

Her var pænt og rent, personalet var venlige og imødekommende. Virkelig smuk udsigt over havet og stranden. Dejligt at restuarenten flyttede udenfor nogle gange - det gav lige lidt ekstra. Dejligt med en strandbar, så man ikke altid behøvede at spise i restauranten.

Selvom om man på forhånd godt ved, at det ligger lidt øde, bliver 5 dage her alligevel lidt lang tid, når man ikke lige kan gå op i byen. Restauranten er udemærket, men bærer også præg af “all inclusive” stemning. Dog var det super lækkert mad. Savnede at poolen var nedkølet- luksus problem. Men der var ingen steder at køle sig ned, når både der er 40 grader og vandet i havet og poolen er varmt.

Sehr freundliches Personal, die Austattung und das Essen sehr gut. Besonderen Dank an Shakila für ihren Service. Leider war das Ausflugsangebot für eine Alleinreisende nicht gut und eher teuer. Das Hotel ist eher für Familien oder Paare.
