Fridge faulty. TV not work. Buolders doing major refurbishment on first floor. I was on second floor. Work began at 8.45 am..Then lots of banging last 2 days during day. No lift was a problem especially at end of the day.

Reviewed Aug 2, 2026Für 10 $ gab es ein großes, sauberes zentrumsnahes Zimmer. Wenn du keinen Luxus brauchst, gehe ins Royal Hotel. TIP: wenn Ihr ein Tuk Tuk für Ausflüge braucht, fragt nach Rich! Toller Typ, hat Ahnung und ist absolut fair. Es gab tagsüber Renovierungsarbeiten, war aber völlig ok, wird halt in der Nebensaison gemacht.

Reviewed Jul 8, 2026- l’emplacement est la seule chose de Royal ici! - Leur Rooftop est agréable au coucher du soleil même si le restaurant qui s’y trouve est totalement HS, il reste de quoi se poser, des tables, des hamacs!
- Franchement c’est pas « vieillot » comme le disent certains commentaires, c’est vraiment hors d’âge! Mais tout : les meubles, les rideaux et sa tringle des années 80, le mobilier… et même une télé cathodique! Et le problème c’est que ce n’est pas très bien entretenu donc l’état est catastrophique ! Côté propreté, le sol était vraiment sale, les meubles tranpirent la poussière et les rideaux je n’en parle même pas! Très mauvais rapport qualité/prix, c’est un hotel qui devrait couter 10$ la nuit pas plus, l’état est catastrophique et à ce prix là c’est clairement du vol!

Hotel is a bit run down (we stayed in the off season which probably made this more apparent). View from room was of the back of ugly neighbouring buildings.

We booked the room with the fan and would have been very pleased with our stay HOWEVER the fag had been rigged. All four settings were the same speed of what must’ve been about 2mph. We were so hot we ended up I’ll the next day with headaches and dizziness. I guess you can’t complain for the price but would be been nice if the advertised fan in the room actually did its advertised job and wasn’t rigged to try and make more money from the aircon

Reviewed Mar 31, 2026Honestly, I loved staying here. Yes, it’s a bit older and some things could probably be renewed. So what? It’s amazing value for money and you’ve got everything you need: fridge, AC, fan… they even have a 24/7 reception and a fridge downstairs where you can buy cool drinks like coke or beer. You can book your bus tickets/your transport there - I booked a bus to Siem Reap and it was good service. They booked a company for me that picked me up at the hotel and brought me to my hotel in Siem Reap, very comfortable and cheap. One of the best things about this hotel was the girl who works there. She is extremely nice, helpful and a hard worker. If you have any problem she will fix it in no time. She even opened the door every time I went out or came in.

Reviewed Mar 23, 2026Gente amable y servicial, nos ayudaron en todo. La ubicación es céntrica, a 50 metros del mercado, a 5 cuadras de la estación de tren y a 7 de la de buses. La habitación era grande y la cama cómoda. Nos recogieron gratis ena estación de trenes y nos dieron regalos de despedida.
La tele no andaba. Aunque es una guesthouse más bien humilde, cualquier falencia se suple con el cálido trato del personal.

Skittent og slitt. Må kanskje regne med det til denne prisen. Kun kaldt vann i dusjen. Vinduet på rommet kunne ikke åpnes og var rett ut i gangen. Litt usikker på funksjonen. Var og gitter forran vinduet. Så kun en rømningsvei ved brann.

It reminded me of grandma's house from the 70's with the color scheme. It was nice and quiet. This was budget accommodation and thought what we got was great. Would stay there again. Free tuktuk pickup, to and from the bus station.
Wasn't an issue for us, but you do need to be able to climb stairs.

La réceptionniste est extrêmement aimable. De plus l'hôtel m'a envoyé un tuk-tuk pour venir me chercher à la station de bus, gratuitement. Possibilité de breakfast juste à côté ''expresso café house'' , et resto spécialités khmer 50m plus loin du même côté, environ 3dollars le plat. En résumé, le royal hotel excellent rapport qualité prix et bien placé.

When I spoke to staff about it they were very unfriendly and did not change anything. After our stay I explained this to management who just had the same attitude. You should avoid this place

Reviewed Mar 6, 2026El personal te ayuda en todo y son súper atentos, te hacen sentir muy bien, están 24horas en recepción y las habitaciones muy limpias y la cama muy cómoda, se duerme genial y no hay nada de ruido !!!
Necesita pintar las paredes, y la decoración algo antigua pero es un sitio agradable, volvería a quedarme allí.

Reviewed Mar 5, 2026Die Lage ist top, gleich beim Markt. Das Hotel bietet einen guten Wäscheservice. Wir konnten die Weiterreise nach Phnom Penh vor Ort buchen und wurden im Hotel abgeholt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Die Dame an der Rezeption hat uns das Upgrade zum sehr schönen Superior Doppelzimmer empfohlen und unseren Koffer die zwei Stockwerke hinaufgetragen.
Ein kleines Detail: Es wäre nett, wenn es zum Wasserkocher ein paar Portionen Kaffee, Tee und Zucker geben würde.

La rue est passante et on entend un peu le bruit. Il est, en principe, interdit de boire ou manger dans la chambre, et comme d'hab, la TV ne marche pas (pas essentiel, mais des fois, offre un aperçu de la culture locale, non touristique)

At the reception there was a girl, Dina, always very kind and happy to help with any request and even going the extra mile: we had rent a scooter and, at night, she offered us to park it in a closed garage rather than leaving it outside. We really recommend this hotel and we would like to thank, once more, Dina.

Es gibt einfach nicht viel zu tun im Zentrum von Battambang. Das Foto ist alt, ich wäre gerne dort gewesen, als das Foto gemacht wurde.The hotel has seen better days, for one night okay. Price is good so it’s hard to complain. There is simply not much to do in central Battambang. The photo is old, I would have loved to been there when the photo was taken.

Reviewed Jan 22, 2026* A friendly welcome from Dina during check-in. She was sweet, friendly and helpful without being pushy throughout our entire stay at Royal Hotel. No touting at all during our stay. * A great scooter rental place is located just a few doors down from the hotel: LE Scooters. * Secure overnight parking for bicycles and motorbikes - there's a small locked garage across from the hotel. * This is an older building with a sort of retro character feel going on - we like that. The entire property was very clean and seemed in good repair. * Very close to assorted restaurants, supermarkets, the train station and some long distance bus departure points to other parts of Cambodia. Our Room, #203: * Clean, bright and comfortable with a window, curtains and private balcony. * Aircon worked good and ran quietly. * Two bedside tables, two chairs, a desk and chair, a wardrobe closet, dresser and mirror. Much of the furniture was solid wood and it was all in good repair/sturdy. * Refrigerator and electric kettle. * VERY comfortable bed and pillows - a rarity for us during our travels through SEA. Sheets were clean and fresh. The duvet was new. * Room was quiet - street noise was not an issue for us and guests were quiet and respectful of fellow guests. No construction going on outside during our stay and no bars nearby blasting music. All in all, very peaceful. * Bathroom with hot water from the electric shower. Toilet and sink did not leak. Cotton towels were fresh and clean. * Daily room cleaning was by request - you could put a "Please Clean" or "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door.

Chambre pas super bien insonorisé, durant la nuit pas trop de bruit, parcontre à partir de 7h, on entend les gens parler fort dans le couloir, sans aucun respect pour ceux qui dorment.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026La serviabilité et la gentillesse du personnel. Un tuk tuk est venu nous récupérer à la gare de bus, il peut proposer des sorties à la journée pour visiter les environs. On a pu louer un scooter sur place. Et les restaurants et cafés proposés dans le guide du routard sont juste à côté.
