Location was good and easy to walk around neighborhood for exercise. Access to bikes a plus, but some maintenance required on the gears

Reviewed Mar 27, 2026It was a 10 minute walk into the centre of Martinborough. On the day we arrived the weather was good so we sat outside which was nice.
The cottage was on a main road with lots of noisy trucks thundering by and cars starting early in the morning around 5.30am.

The curtains in the middle bedroom with the single beds aren’t blackout which makes it challenging to get a little one down for naps/bedtime.

Very noisy as it's very close to the main road and if you have windows open to sleep at night in the summer you can hear trucks and cars go by all night. The TV was very fiddly to get to work, Chromecast is the only option to watch anything it seemed.

Reviewed Aug 8, 2025Martinborough is een heerlijk stadje. We zouden eigenlijk maar een dagje blijven. Gelukkig werden het er twee zodat we ook naar de sterren kon kijken bij de Star Gazing Safari. Het is een prachtig stadje met heerlijk eten, goede wijnen en een prachtige omgeving die je eenvoudig op de fiets kan verkennen. Het appartement is heerlijk om te verblijven.

Reviewed May 13, 2025Everything was just as described and as shown in the pictures. There was everything you needed (and more!). A very well stocked house with quality furniture and linen, and some of the most efficient heating I've ever come across - the house was lovely and warm on some very cold nights! Having access to the bikes was fantastic and made for a very easy and fun way to get about. Location is very convenient as only a few minutes in town (and it's a flat walk!)

Reviewed Mar 16, 2025The hosts were very responsive to our needs throughout the duration of our stay. The breakfast supplies were excellent, especially the home preserved peaches. It was great to be able to chromecast to the TV. It was very comfortable in all respects. We loved hearing the birds coming in to roost, and waking up in the morning, in trees nearby.
I noticed in some reviews people were disturbed by traffic noise, but this was never a problem for us. It was only just close enough to walk to town centre for groceries or a coffee, sometimes we decided to drive, but mostly we walked.

Reviewed Feb 22, 2025Location was central for visiting wineries in Martingborough. The provided bicycles were good for winery visits, especially as most of the wineries were on flat land (no hills). Only the more far away Te Muna road wineries were on a hilly side. The Four Square supermarket was much better than expected from the Four Square chain. The facilities of the cottage were good.
Traffic noise was horrible all trough the night. We expected that continental breakfast included bread as usual, but there was butter & jam but no bread.
