Both the air conditioning and the ceiling fan worked well, making it easy to adjust the temperature. The hot shower was another highlight, as it worked perfectly every time. For the price we paid, the room offered more comfort than expected.

The host was friendly and approachable, always ready to help when we needed something. We booked through Booking.com and got breakfast included, which was a nice touch. Although there were a couple of small issues, like one unsealed water bottle, they were resolved immediately once mentioned. With just a little more attention to these details, the overall service could easily reach a 5-star level.

Good and comfortable stay with breakfast options. Mr Tony is a hospitable host.

The tap in one of the rooms was broken, although it was functioning. The AC was also not in the same condition as in the other room.

The owner and her family were very kind. Breakfast was available each morning. It was eggs and bread with coffee. The location was perfect and right in the main town area. 20 mins walk from the beach.

We got some laundry done and one tshirt was missing and another was badly stained

Came for 2 nights and ended up staying over a week! The room itself was on 7th floor with elevator. There was so much natural light and really good views for the new construction project and perfect spot to watch fireworks. It’s super central location and easy to walk everywhere. The room was newly refurbished and really clean and well maintained. We booked full day boat trip and bus through the hotel and got the best price in town. The owner is super lovely, helpful and always smiling.

Breakfast was delicious but only one option of omelette and baguette with coffee and it gets little boring after couple of days. There is as well night club right across the street and music going loud until quite late.

In centro, comodo per le spiagge e le partenze dei bus. Stanza grande e molto luminosa.

La stanza di fianco aveva la finestra che dava sul corridoio, accertatevi di avere la finestra che dia sull'esterno a meno che non vogliate una maggior insonorizzazione dai suoni della strada. Le scale non erano molto pulite.

La familia que lo regenta es encantadora. Las habitaciones son muy amplias y cómodas.

Por desgracia hay justo debajo de las habitaciones una discoteca que está con la música a todo volumen hasta las 3 de la mañana. Eso, lógicamente no es del hotel, pero le afecta enormemente. Deberían de cerrar las puertas de la discoteca para que no molestasen. Se hace necesaria una orden de las autoridades para que todos los negocios puedan vivir sin molestar a los otros. También la calle es muy céntrica y hay bastante tráfico de motos, quizá algo de material aislante ayudaría. En definitiva, mucho ruido lo que hizo que de tres noches solo pasáramos la primera.

Wifi trong phòng k dùng đc, hỏi nhân viên thì bảo “e thấy các phòng khác vẫn dùng được, k ai kêu” Cũng k lên phòng xem thực tế, k có giải pháp, k xin lỗi, nhưng mặc định là wifi ok :) Hết nói nổi, trải nghiệm tồi Nhà vệ sinh có mùi rất khó chịu, không sạch sẽ, có nhiều con rãn đốt đau hơn muỗi nữa

Great location, close to everything. Staff were friendly & helpful, helped me book a boat tour. The room was very spacious & mostly clean. Had everything you needed, fridge, kettle, hairdryer etc & complimentary water. The street outside is noisey but the windows did good job blocking most it out

There were a few stains on the bed sheet (they were definitely fresh washed though) & there was some sand left on the bathroom floor. Very minor things

The staff has no idea how to run a Hotel and doesn't speak english, Exepct for One lady but She Is not Always there. In the time of the check in the room was not ready I had to wait One our. The room was really dirty and if you don't have earplugs forget to sleep, because the Place Will be noise the whole day and night.

It’s okey if you stay there only for a few nights, the owner is nice. It’s also quite close to the beach and in the middle of the “town”

Sadly I got sick after the breakfast but I could be something else I ate the day before but it’s good to mention. Also I agree with others that it can be quite noisy during the night.

Central location convenient for travel, friendly hotel owner.

The hotel is located 100m from Cat Ba gate so it's convenient to go anywhere. The rooms are spacious, airy and comfortable. The mattresses are soft and the blankets are warm. Most importantly, the owner is extremely nice and always smiles.

The stay was very relaxing, we went to many places on the island as instructed by the receptionist, and the trip was really great.

Overall (tldr): amazing stay for a great price! - Great location for all activities. - The tours that they offer really have the best prices (we compared a lot and they were really the cheapest!) - we highly recommend the 1-day trekking tour to Viet Hai village!! Amazing tour, private boat ride with kayaking and swimming back. - Breakfast is nice (pancake or omelette, plus toast). - Host is super helpful with everything and assures you have the best stay. - Scooter rental for 100VND is a great price and we highly recommend to drive around the national park with it.

- just small issue: rooms are really spacious; however, our room had the same moist climate as the island generally has. This wasn’t a problem for our stay (3 nights), but might be an issue for longer stays.

It a really lovely family that owns it who is trying hard to accommodate the guests and make sure you feel welcome Spacious, bright, big room The location is off the main road where there’s currently (Apr 25) major construction happening - as Cat Ba is quite small you’re still everywhere super fast

There‘s a Club Right Next door which you can hear in the evening - not super loud but if you‘re noise sensitive it might be a problem

With its reasonable price and excellent facilities, this hotel is definitely worth recommending! The staff were courteous, professional, and played a big part in making my stay even more pleasant.

We set off early from the hotel to the beach, surprisingly breakfast was ready. The family who owns the hotel are really hospitable.

This beautiful hotel in the center of Cat Ba Town was a fantastic stay. Our room had a stunning view of the harbor, making the experience even more special. The staff were outstanding—always helpful and attentive. And the breakfast? Absolutely excellent!

Great value for money and lovely owners who will help sort trips and transport. Room was big with large comfortable bed, TV , AC and mini fridge.

Only small thing to mention was a bad smell from bathroom but we put an air freshener in and all was good.

Great place. Good location in the center. Staff is friendly and they are flexible. They let us change our dates after arriving. Like everywhere, they'll make arrangements for you. Breakfast is good and typical for the area. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The corner rooms (x01) are the best but they are all good. There's a woman who sells food in the alley next to it, I recommend it

It was a great stay. The staff was very nice, and the hotel was comfortable despite the renovation work. The rooms were clean and very nice.

Positive: Beds are comfortable, clean rooms, simple but good breakfast, very kind host, elevator in the building, large room. Negative: the shower drain was blocked and the water was draining very slowly which for me it’s very disgusting. I bought a bus ticket from the Hotel and I didn’t get exactly why it was sold to me. I got very disappointed.

The hotel is nicely located in town but no views of the bay or water. The hotel is family owned and they are friendly. The hotel is a legacy hotel which needs some attention. We traveled as a family of three, a couple and teenagers. Rented the family suite. After we were in the room , we realized that the window to the hall had no lock on it, it had been broken for some time allowing free access to our room. The owner came up and sealed the window with hinges which were permanent. The bathroom floor tiles were warped causing the door to not close unless pushed on with heavy strength and then did not close properly the owner was informed and agreed it was a structural issue needing fixing. The sink was also in need of repair with the sink plug rusted open and the control lever not secured, One last issue , the most serious is the electrical.. one outlet , if used causes a surge that cuts out the electrify in the room until removed. We were offered another room but that too had issues. Our stay was only two days, so we made due. If the price point is right( they often discount the rooms heavily if not booked in advance, we were not so Lucky) it might be worth the above faults excepting the electrical.

The Ireland is a perfect place to stay in beautiful Cat Ba. The room was very clean and quite nice. The service is excellent and you are like a member of the family. The location is right in the middle of town. I highly recommend The Ireland. It is truly an excellent value.

The Ireland Hotel is a nice family run hotel. Corner Rooms are bright (there is also internal rooms without windows) and the hotel is generally clean. A few small issues with bulbs not working and TV not working but that is very minor. It’s close to the main “drag” but noise was not an issue. Cat Ba is unfortunately undergoing a lot of construction and modernisation so it’s best to rent a scooter and venture out of town.

Loved my giant private room. You get complimentary water bottles inside the room. Bathroom was a good size and I remember having hot showers. Great location and I rented a scooter from the hotel for 1 day

An absolutely perfect stay! The hotel combines elegance and comfort with impeccable service. The rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean.

The room has a lot of nice touches to it and was relaxing. We loved how friendly the staff were, and how considerate they were of our needs checking in early and taking breakfast 10 minutes early to eat before our bus.

You get what you pay for. If there was hot water in the shower I would say it's decent value for money. But hot water is too basic for me to be worth saving money on.

No hot water in the showers. The top floors don't have water pressure either, so it's almost impossible to shower. I moved to a lower room and the water pressure was passable. Cleanliness could be better
