Not a complaint and was fine, but guests in the chalet outside hotel will have people making a little noise outside in garden bar...mostly chatter though. Not a problem if you are there for a drink and the garden is cleared around 10. Just put that for information

Great location, big rooms.

Staff were very friendly and efficient when dealing with the emergency situation that followed a power surge to the hotel. The young barman was particularly helpful.

Loved the history of the place, its was a stunning building inside and out, lovely bar and cosy but spacious room with all the amenities needed. It was also immaculatey clean. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back

The location is excellent very central and within easy walking distance of the shops and the bus station, which made getting around Keswick really convenient. From the moment I checked in, the service was excellent. The girl at check-in explained everything very clearly and kindly, including how to access the hotel if I returned after 10pm. The room was spotless, and the bathroom was very clean and spacious. The front-of-house team seemed quite small, but despite that, they did a fantastic job managing the bar, restaurant and guests. Dinner time was particularly busy, yet the service remained great. The girl serving me was incredibly active and attentive throughout, always with a lovely smile. I only wish I had caught the staff members’ names so I could give them a proper shout-out. The menu had a good selection, and the food was tasty. absolutely nothing to complain about. Overall, what stood out most was the warm, friendly and hardworking staff who made the stay very enjoyable.

Honestly, there was nothing I disliked. I noticed some reviews mentioning that the hotel and pub are a little dated, but I actually think the traditional, antique character is what makes this place unique and gives it its charm. I personally wouldn’t want that to change

Staff were friendly, room was lovely and spacious. Couldn't hear the live performance downstairs, which was surprising! Great access to the shops and local area.

No sound proofing. Could hear people showering as if they were in the same room as us. Quite warm in the room.

Conveniently placed- everything is within good walking distance. The room was very basic but had everything we needed.

The shower wasn’t the best - the holder was broken so you could only shower if you held it or if you placed it on the holder it shoots all over

The toilet seat kept sliding out of position,asked for it to be repaired...it wasn't! Wardrobe know came off in hand. Shower bracket wasn't fitted to wall properly. Very dated,needs a refurbishment

Die Lage ist Zentral. Dementsprechend in der Samstagnacht laut. Es ist ein altes Hotel und die Ausstattung auch. Dennoch sind die Betten komfortabel, Wäsche sauber und Pflegeprodukte stehen bereit. Fenster kann man nur sehr wenig öffnen. Badezimmer ist gross, Duschkabine sehr klein ,ein wenig Schimmel in den Ecken. Für 1 Nacht war es für uns in Familienzimmer ok

The breakfast was very good, the hotel is in a great central location.

(Nothing to do with the staff) but I am not sure what has happened, but going back two years ago this bar always seemed to be full of customers through the evening at weekends when we visited. This year the pub seemed to be much less frequented. Not sure if the brewery has made any changes that have affected this.

The vegetable sausages were good substitute for meat sausages and the breakfast on the whole was good. The rest of the meals were very good, a good range all freshly done. The staff made every effort to grant us our request, within availability

We would have like more choice for breakfast, not all cooked breakfast. Possibly some porridge, cereals or pastry. Maybe more of a range of hot drinks also We also would have liked more variety of vegetables or salads..

Filthy bathrooms and dusty rooms. Never stayed in a place as dirty. Notified staff and still didn’t clean the bathroom.

The room was excellent for its size and general comfort. The meals in the pub were good.

The bed was a bit uncomfortable, there was no air conditioning, and there was no parking.

Location is extremely central. Room was fine for the money. Traffic does pass by but not at reasonable hours. Staff were all very pleasant, although girl covering breakfast could've been more helpful. Breakfast was fairly priced. The bar closed at 9pm, basically after the dinner crowd left. This was a Friday night in the height of summer, which we thought a bit odd.

The room was okay. Bathroom door was very difficult to close. It was a hot night, and the room was hot too. It's rare you get the temps we had so understandably there's no Aircon. There was a small fan. Shower nozzle settings weren't fully working but water was hot and powerful enough.

Central hotel- no parking. But there is payable parking nearby. Check in was good. Food was good. One polite member of staff at reception. One polite waitress.

One member of staff extremely rude, Both ours rooms 4 & 3 were filthy. Black mould are dirty. Asked for the bathroom to be cleaned on arrival the girl beginning with S was helpful and pleasant. She apologised and said they would do and clearly didn’t. Went to speak to another lady and her attitude was rude, saying it was the shower door silcone that needed replaced. It was clearly more than that from the images, the dust on skirting boards, the chair was filthy, under beds had bottle tops so beds were never moved. I said to the girl with the darker hair up (bigger girl) we wouldn’t be back to stay in hotel dirty. Her response was “that’s fine then” never experienced such a rude member of staff. If that’s how your speak to guests she needs some customer service training. We won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend.

Despite the bathroom being quite large the shower was a tiny cubicle. There was a lot of street noise that the window didn't block.

The place had lots of character, the staff were very friendly, spotlessly clean, big room with everything you need and the shower was very powerful, loved it.

Maybe the room could use a bit of a refresh, nothing too major, lick of paint, just a few little touches

Paid for breakfast was very good. Huge portion. Building in need of a serious upgrade. Bed was very comfortable but the room very dated. Bar prices and food very reasonable compared to other vendors in town.

Nobody on reception on our arrival. No plug in bathroom sink. Kettle lid broken (the hinge bit had broken off), and evidently just left. Shower head didn't fit anywhere. No parking. Food poor. General impression, the place is run on a minimum cost basis, with poor quality control.

Room 13 was very worn out, holes in the wall presumably where fittings had been pulled out, needed redecorating at the least, bathroom was functional but mould and mildew on the grout etc. Accept it’s an old building but not an excuse for that state of decoration in bedroom and en-suite
