The most like thing is the hotel is very closer to the Ella Rock hiking, And also there' s a safe place to bath cold water, that was an amazing place, kithal ella station is on foot distance and its easy to have the train transportation .

Manoj es una gran persona, nos ayudó a recorrer Ella, movernos en el tren hacia el centro de la ciudad y nos guió para ir a las atracciones. La habitacion es enorme, el baño es cómodo. El dueño nos ayudó a acomodar la salida de agua caliente, muy útil ya que baja la temperatura en la noche.

Está alejado de la ciudad, lo cual incomoda por la falta de restaurantes en la zona y la dependencia de Tuk tuk o alquiler de moto para movilizarte. Manoj nos ayudó una cena haciendo de Delivery. Recomendamos a otros huespedes usar el tren para ir hasta el centro en modo economico, la estacion Kital Ella esta a 3 minutos del homestay.

We had an unforgettable stay at Kithaya Ella. The Room with Balcony was spacious, spotless, and the view of Ella’s mountains from the balcony took our breath away every morning. The staff were warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home especially with our kids. It’s peaceful, beautifully located, and the perfect base to explore Ella town. If you’re looking for comfort, calm, and genuine hospitality in the hills, Kithaya Ella is the place. We’ll be back!

This is an exceptional place to stay while hiking the Pekoe Trail! The balcony in the misty morning is beautiful. I got a couple fresh water leeches while hiking and the owner helped me remove them and stop the bleeding.

The rooms are dated and there are not many places to dry wet clothing.

Комната была отличная, хоть и вход в санузел был в коридоре. В номере было чисто, полотенца, вода, чай, чайник электрический, кружки. Чтобы доехать от автобусной остановки до отеля на тук туке нужно заплатить 1500 рупий. Администратор отзывчивый. Очень удобное расположение к горе Элла Рок.

I had a truly wonderful experience staying at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, professional, and always ready to help with anything I needed. The check-in process was smooth and quick, which made the start of my stay very comfortable. The room was spotless, spacious, and very well maintained. I especially appreciated the comfortable bed, the beautiful interior design, and the peaceful atmosphere that allowed me to relax completely. The housekeeping team did an excellent job every day, making sure everything was clean and organized. The hotel facilities were also impressive. The environment was calm, safe, and perfect for both relaxing and enjoying a vacation. The food was delicious with a good variety of options, and the dining area had a very pleasant ambiance. What stood out the most was the hospitality. Every staff member I met was friendly, polite, and genuinely cared about making guests feel welcome. Their service truly made the stay memorable. Overall, I had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, quality service, and a relaxing atmosphere. I would definitely love to come back again in the future.

Super liebes Personal. Scooter und Tuktuk wurden vor die Haustüre geliefert. Probleme wurden noch vor der Entstehung gelöst. Frühstück war sehr lecker.

Unterkunft ist etwas weiter weg. Ein Scooter lohnt sich.

I had paid for 2 rooms inadvertently and as I believed it was my error paid the guy manoj in cash for both rooms. He then wanted me to cancel one of the rooms but as I'd paid I refused to do so. He then contacted booking.com and said I had been a no show for both rooms ! Obviously on the fiddle. The rooms facilities aren't as described on booking.com . Telly didn't work, no towels, blow up reclining chair..kettle didnt work but was replaced in fairness. Manoj is a smiling viper..BEWARE

This hotel is situated in Ella Rock entrance. I have booked their Single Room. It was a comfortable room with a balcony. Very nice Room. The hotel introduced the room as single room, But I felt it's like a double Room. Recommend this place with happy.

Ho avuto un'ottima esperienza. Primo volevo ringraziare Manoj che si occupa di gestire la struttura, è stato super cordiale e molto disponibile. La stanza era ottima, grande, con un bagno spazioso e un balcone. Perfettamente pulita con letto comodo e asciugamani. Il bagno anche comodo, con una doccia con acqua calda. Vi è anche il wifi con password scritta sulla porta quindi la connessione è molto facile. Il prezzo era più che onesto visto il servizio e un punto bonus è la vicinanza alla stazione del treno, che ti permettere di scendere e in 2 minuti essere già arrivato.

Lovely guest house and very friendly,helpful and attentive staff. It is 10 minutes from town by taxi, close to a water fall and quaint train station. Worth a visit and can easily recommend.

We had a great stay at Kithaya Ella in Ella, Sri Lanka. The room was a good size, with a private balcony that had a table and chairs—perfect for relaxing with a view. The bathroom was spacious and featured hot running water, and honestly, it had the best shower we've had during our entire stay in Sri Lanka! The host was incredibly kind and went above and beyond—when we arrived and asked for soap, he actually went out and bought some for us straight away. He even did our laundry, which was a lovely bonus. The location is great—just a 10-minute scooter ride into Ella town and around 15 minutes to the trail leading to Nine Arch Bridge. It’s also just a 2-minute walk to the train tracks, where you can access beautiful trails to Ella Rock, Kuda Ravana waterfall, and the Black Bridge. There was a fan in the room that kept it nice and cool, even during the warmer parts of the day. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for comfort, convenience, and warm hospitality while staying in Ella.

I stayed for one night and it was wonderful.the host was Very very friendly & helpful. The rooms are very clean and very beautiful,very comfortable bed. Good location in Ella to go to Ella rock. Definitely Highly recommend for others. The charges for the rooms are in acceptable rate.

Simple, small room. Kind host. I arrived after 6 pm and unfortunately there were no dinner, nor breakfast. Anyway it’s close to the Pekoe Trail.

I got a comfortable room. I have stayed for one night. I love the location of the place. But the location is somewhat outside from the busy Ella town. But anyone can work to Ella through railway track. As a low budget traveller, the place is perfect. The staff is very kind and supportive. They supported me before the arrival, during my stay and after the check out. Don't need to worry to select this place for your stay. Thank you.

The staff is friendly. Room has a fan and warm water. Located close to Kithalella train station and the hiking track to Ella Rock. Nice breakfast room, but seems one would get more use out of the space if it were decorated and used as a communal hangout area.

The toilet in our bathroom was leaking, causing for the floor to be constantly wet and having to clean and dry it. I found this very uncomfortable. I was asked to leave the room key so they could fix it, but they didn’t. Yet I was charged full price and not really compensated, expect for frying my daughter and myself an egg on the day of our departure (we stayed here 3 nights). The room has no mosquito net and there definitely are mosquitoes. There was a weird smell of moth balls which gave me a headache, but they said it was from paint, cause they were painting the back of the place. Room has thin carpet, but somehow doubt they have a vacuum cleaner and it’s a bit dirty. Had the superior single room for me and my 1 year old with double bed, but not clear what the superior refers to. Room is very small and hard to find a spot to open our suitcase. There is a balcony which could be nice once it is in use, but now it was constantly being kept wet and had some ply board behind the door to stop guest from accessing it. Weren’t able to really give any recommendations of places to eat or see in the neighborhood. Only do Western Breakfast at an additional charge and no Sri Lankan breakfast. Seems the father of the owner was the host during our stay, who is very friendly, but doesn’t speak English that well.

The proximity to the train station is an added bonus for those planning to explore the area. The host was exceptionally friendly, accommodating, and responsive, offering helpful recommendations for local attractions. The room was comfortable and the property seemed well-maintained. As for the breakfast, it was simple but sufficient, and I did not expect additional services, as it was clearly indicated as a basic offering. The owner is very understanding and seemed genuinely concerned about addressing any guest concerns. Because they supported me to finding a vehicle to my next stay with a friendly budget. Overall, I found this place to be a peaceful, budget-friendly option with a lot of potential once some minor improvements are made.

They offer the breakfast according to their preference. That also healthy and tasty breakfast. But if we ask for something they will prepare it. Therefore be aware to order your preference earlier.

Ella is overrun by tourists, therefore I decided to stay in Kital Ella for a quieter less-touristy experience. I had a simple but very comfortable room with a huge window. It had heavy curtains and I could get the room completely dark. It was also very quiet. There was hot water with good pressure in the shower. Breakfast was basic but satisfactory. A big shout-out to Umesh who was friendly and helpful.

The easiest and quickest way to get to Ella is to walk along the railway line. Obviously, not every guest is willing and/or able to take this shortcut. Other guests complained about the lack of a mosquito net but, at least at this time of the year, it was not necessary. Cash only.

If you are planning trekking its good place to start. Quite near to Ella rock and uper Ravenna falls. Next to train station. Big clean rooms.

The room was clean & well maintained. All facilities were provided as per advertised. The location is at one station before Ella main station & so slightly far off from the main Ella town but is walkable (around 40 mins) through the railway tracks. If you want to stay away from the crowd & noise, then this location is perfect.

Surprisingly no bugs, kind of clean. Friendly, attentive staff. Good location. Book the economy room, just so you can open the balcony door and see the balcony 😂❤️

Be aware there is not much to do in Ella, so unless u only want to sleep here, I wouldn't recommend it. Its not place u want to come after day full of trekking or riding train. Room is dark, weird carpet. Doesn't feel comfortable. No mosquito net. Toilet is leaking. Water is not always warm. Whoever photographed the room, did really good job.

I have stayed at different places in Ella during this time period. But Kithaya Ella is the best place that I stayed. It has a calm and quiet area. That free environment supports me a lot for my activities. The location is near to the railway station and it was easy to travel through train. The staff was very friendly. Didn't have air conditioners in the rooms. It felt a bit dusty due to carpets.

Food was prepared at the hotel. Delicious and served at the correct temperature.They were in courteous and willing to accommodate us in many ways.

With regard to hotel nothing to complain. But realised path towards the hotel,mainly by the side roads had rubbish scattered everywhere.

It is brand new so they haven’t finished decorating yet. They are getting used to hosting guests & the hill js quite steep to get down to the property. You need a TukTuk to get in and out, the walk is too steep
