Pas assez d’eau chaude pour 2 personnes, capital d’eau chaude qui n’a été suffisant que pour une douche de 5/10 minutes, la deuxième personne n’a pas pu se doucher. Aussi nous aurions apprécié la présence de bouteilles d’eau minérale dans la chambre plutôt que de l’eau du robinet qui ne se boit pas trop à Maurice

Loved the pool at this place. Location is good for the seven colours (pretty meh) and rum distillery (pretty touristy) and hikes around Chamarel (we loved Piton du Canot for amazing views). We also went to the beach at Le Morne. We loved the breakfast and the dinners each night, great food and service. Felt very nice homey vibes. Comfy bed and room. We both had the massage service which we loved, they do it in your room and is full body, reasonably priced.

Nothing dried in our room or terrace, even when it wasn’t rainy, probably just from humidity. Room didn’t have a view but the pool view was stunning.

Wer Komfort in Ruhe und Natur sucht, hat hier eine perfekte Unterkunft. Chalet, Bar/Restaurant und Pool sind sehr komfortabel und geschmackvoll.

Wenn man kein eigenes Auto hat, ist es schwierig, außerhalb von Chamarel Ausflüge zu machen. Kleiner Kritikpunkt: Das inkludierte Frühstück ist je nach Hunger nicht unbedingt ausreichend. Man kann aber gegen Aufpreis weiteres Essen bestellen.

Zeer attent en aardig personeel.

De locatie is prachtig groen tegen een heuvel gelegen. Helaas is er recent een helikopter landingsplaats vlakbij gebouwd en elke 20 minuten wordt er een rondvlucht gemaakt. Dit is erg verstorend. Ze vliegen graag even over het mooie gebied van Chamarel. Omdat het resort midden in de natuur staat ontkom je er bijna niet aan dat kakkerlakken maar ook ratten je chalet bezoeken. Laat geen voedsel achter.

Fantastische ligging. Omgeving rondom je huisje en rondom het zwembad is geweldig. Lekker ontbijt en avondeten.

Niet erg goed aangegeven. Accomodatie ligt erg verscholen en betere bewegwijzering zou welkom zijn. Na het avondeten sluit alles. Nauwelijks mogelijkheid om nog gezellig een drankje te nuttigen.

It is a nice location, great swimming pool and surrounding views are brilliant. staff are friendly.

Drinks are way too expensive. VAT is charged separately on top of already inflated prices. You have to pay extra for coffees like cappuccino at breakfast, this should be included given what you pay for the stay. Food allergies are noted but the kitchen/waiters do not take into account/forget about them which is annoying. Also there is very little flexibility to change dishes (how hard is it to not put no tomato in an omelette?)

Si vous cherchez la nature, alors c'est l'établissement idéal ! Super endroit.

Juste la route d'accès est un peu compliqué mais on est sur une île et en pleine montagne, alors c'est faisable... mais pas avec une Porsche ;)

Malheureusement, les prestations ne sont pas à la hauteur du prix et du lieu Le petit déjeuner est du réchauffé de conserves insipides, ou des viennoiseries décongelées, avec quelques fruits dont la moitié ne sont pas locaux… des chiens sont laissés dans le parking et aboient toute la nuit, le chalet est très mal isolé du bruit… le restaurant est hors de prix (1200 roupies le plat, +15% de taxes)… nous n’y avons pas dîné, mais vu la piètre qualité du petit déjeuner, je ne tenterai pas ! Bref, trop cher pour ce que c’est

Die Lage der Anlage ist sehr schön, toller Garten und Pool. Die Chalets waren schön, aber es roch aufgrund der Feuchte etwas modrig.

Wir waren Ende August 2026 dort und hatten mit dem Wetter Pech. Somit konnten wir den tollen Pool nicht nutzen. Es war sehr kalt und feucht in der Nacht im Zimmer und da das Restaurant nur außen ist, hat es uns beim Abendessen sehr gefroren. Das Essen war in, aber der Preis für die Qualität nicht passend. Das Frühstück ist inklusive, aber nur 1 Getränk und ein Gericht aus der Karte.

Die Lage in einem wirklich schönen Garten und die Nähe zu vielen sehr schönen Orten und Gegenden. Auch das Personal war überwiegend freundlich.

Wir waren im Chalet 6 untergebracht und es war feucht, klamm, dunkel und ungemütlich. Morgens waren die großen Fenster von oben bis unten feucht angelaufen, ein Moskitoschutz an den Fenster zum durchlüften wäre zwingend notwendig. Die kleine Küchenzeile hätten wir nie benutzt. Das Abendessen im Hotel war ganz in Ordnung, aber überteuert. Das Frühstück war ziemlich gut.

Lugar increíble en medio de la vegetación selvática de Chamarel. Precioso, limpio y cuidado hasta el mínimo detalle. La piscina y áreas comunes son espectaculares y las habitaciones de ensueño. El personal es muy amable, especial mención a la mujer que atiende en recepción y además hace los masajes, que son de 10 y los recomendamos (anoté su nombre para ponerlo en la reseña pero lo he perdido!)

Al estar en medio de la “selva” es un lugar con bastante humedad. Creo que se podría pensar en un deshumidificador para la habitación en épocas de lluvia. Para nuestro gusto el colchón era extremadamente blando. Nos resultó incómodo porque estamos acostumbrados a colchones más duros. Pero sigue siendo un lugar al que volvería.

Das gesamte Grundstück ist ein Traum und perfekt in die Landschaft eingebettet. Überall gibt es exotische Pflanzen zu bestaunen und die Aussicht in das Tal ist überwältigend. Abend kann man den Flughunden auf ihrer Reise zusehen! Das Frühstück und auch das Abendessen waren geschmacklich und qualitativ überragend. Wir haben unser kleines Paradies auf Erden gefunden...

Wir hatten leider nur zwei Nächte. Das nächste Mal kommen wir ganz sicher für einen längeren Aufenthalt!

We had a wonderful stay at Mountain Chalet in Chamarel. The location is peaceful, surrounded by beautiful nature, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The chalet was cosy, clean and comfortable, with a lovely atmosphere. We especially enjoyed the tranquillity, fresh air and beautiful surroundings. A great place to disconnect from the busy routine and enjoy quality time together.

There was very little to complain about. Overall, the stay was pleasant and relaxing, and we would happily return.

The location is perfect, you really can not find better location in the forest. It has a nice pool and also the staff is really nice. You have a whole house for yourself and they give you all the info you ask.

If you live in chalet 7 the pump for the pool is working 24/7 and that also means big sound in the night when you want to sleep. So this is a little bit a minus. Also the bathroom would need to be repaired because the sink is not good done ans shower also. Breakfast and dinner okay, but we got better price, more food and better flavours 10 min away with the car. For this price is maybe a little overrated but i think here you pay mostly the location, which is a 10 points. The route to the location is a little bit scarry, just relax and drive,

Wow! What a find. We booked this for a few days of our Mauritius honeymoon based on other reviews and we were so glad we did. The location is a little off the beaten track at the top of the mountains but that’s why the views are so impressive and the place is so peaceful. We often had the pool to ourselves! The staff were amazing and super helpful and kind. On my birthday they brought us breakie on our deck, the cleaners made a birthday cake towel decoration and the restaurant played birthday music and got me a cake! They went above and beyond to make us feel special. The chalet was gorgeous too, really spacious and clean. The two dogs at the chalets were super cute too and very happy to have lots of fuss! We loved our stay here and would highly recommend if you’re looking for a small, personal, authentic vibe in South Mauritius.

L’hôtel est perdu dans les montagnes, une vraie déconnexion. L’accueil est sympathique, souriant. Le petit déjeuner est top, le service toujours avec le sourire. Nous avons dîné au restaurant le soir. Il est vrai que les prix sont conséquents mais la cuisine était bonne. Concernant les chalets, ils sont décorés avec soin, il y a tous les ustensiles de cuisine si on souhaite cuisiner (frigo, micro-ondes, four, casseroles, assiettes etc). Nous avons été dérangés la première nuit par un animal coincé dans le plafond, nous en avons fait part et nous avons été changés de chalet (avec surclassement offert en chalet supérieur) pour le reste du séjour. Nous conseillons d’ailleurs le chalet supérieur 😊 L’hôtel est situé proche du départ de randonnées (piton du Canot, piton de la Riviere Noire) et du restaurant Chamarel (joli belvédère pour un café post-randonnée).

A noter que l’hôtel est assez isolé des commerces et les restaurants de Chamarel sont fermés le soir. Si on ne souhaite pas dîner à l’hôtel, il faut faire les courses avant de monter dans la montagne. L’attente peut être un peu longue au petit déjeuner le matin si tout le monde arrive en même temps, cela ne nous a pas dérangés mais c’est à prendre en compte si timing serré.

Établissement au top situé dans une petite jungle calme et magnifiquement décoré ! Le personnel est très sympathique les repas et le petit déjeuné sont très bons avec beaucoup de choix ! La piscine est magnifique avec une vue splendide sur la nature! La literie très moelleuse avec des draps tout doux était vraiment incroyable 😻 Nous avons passé un très bon séjour ! Merci à l’ensemble de l’équipe

Emplacement parfait pour se ressourcer au milieu de la verdure et assez proche des départs de randonnées. Il y a un arrêt de bus au bout de la rue pour les aventuriers. Le lit et les oreillers sont confortables. La piscine est magnifique, les repas sont bons et le personnel est sympathique. En bonus, notre chambre était prête malgré notre arrivée matinale à 10h.

On a été incommodé un soir par les chiens du lieu qui ont aboyé après les chiens errants à la grille car notre chalet se trouvait près de l'entrée principale.

Die rund 10 Chalets liegen direkt in der tropischen Natur. Die Chalets liegen völlig im Grünen und bieten viel Privatsphäre. Sowohl Frühstück als auch Abendessen waren hervorragend und auch ausreichende Menge (da manche dies hier bemängeln). Es ist ein wunderbarer Ausgangspunkt für Touren zu den bekannten Sehenswürdigkeiten in Chamarel.

The staff was awesome and the decor mesmerising. Plenty of room and appliances for I house cooking. And vape and I door room perfume at disposal along with humidifier.

Some minor fluctuations in power lightning everytime the water pumps kicks in but nothing to worry about.

Die Lage, das Essen, die beiden Hunde! Das Personal war super freundlich und hilfsbereit, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Essen war top und entgegen der Bewertungen hier hatten wir bei keinem Essen, sowohl Frühstück als auch Abendessen, das Gefühl, dass es zu wenig war.

Accueil et amabilité du personnel. Le cadre de l’hôtel

Notre chambre ne disposait pas de terrasse contrairement aux autres chambres. Les prix au restaurant sont un peu excessifs…

J’ai apprécié le cadre du Mountain Chalet. L’endroit est spacieux, très beau et offre une atmosphère agréable. Le personnel a également été très sympathique, accueillant et toujours prêt à aider, ce qui a rendu notre séjour encore plus plaisant. La nourriture a été très bonne également, un grand bravo au chef Jimmy.

Malheureusement, plusieurs points ont fortement impacté notre séjour. Le principal problème est l’humidité omniprésente dans les chalets. Les chambres sont très froides, il n’y a pas de chauffage (la climatisation ne fonctionne qu’en mode froid) et les essuies dégagent une forte odeur de renfermé et d’humidité. C’est vraiment le point qui nous a le plus déçus. L’eau chaude ne dure qu’environ cinq minutes, ce qui est insuffisant pour deux personnes. La propreté est également perfectible à certains endroits. Les essuies ne sont pas remplacés systématiquement, il faut en faire la demande chaque jour. Les nuits n’ont pas été très reposantes à cause des aboiements de chiens jusque tard dans la nuit (parfois jusqu’à 2 ou 3 heures du matin). L’isolation phonique étant limitée, cela nuit au calme que l’on recherche dans ce type d’établissement. Le petit-déjeuner est également décevant au vu du prix de la chambre. Les boissons comme les cappuccinos ou les chocolats chauds sont facturées en supplément et seuls les choix les plus basiques sont inclus. De même, bien qu’une cheminée soit présente dans le chalet, le bois est payant, ce qui donne l’impression que de nombreux services sont proposés avec un supplément malgré un tarif déjà très élevé. Le lit présentait également un creux important, ce qui le rendait affaissé et peu confortable pour dormir. Enfin, si le personnel a toujours été très accueillant et sympathique, l’accueil du propriétaire nous a semblé assez froid et peu chaleureux. Au final, le cadre est magnifique, mais au tarif d’environ 180 € par nuit, le rapport qualité-prix ne nous a malheureusement pas semblé à la hauteur de nos attentes.

We stayed in Chalet 5 and loved the setting. Chamarel Mountain Chalets is surrounded by greenery and feels like a peaceful hideaway, with each chalet positioned far enough apart to provide plenty of privacy and tranquillity. The staff were helpful, offered useful travel advice and could also arrange massages. Breakfast is included with every chalet, with a good selection of options that tasted very good. Filter coffee and tea are included, while cappuccinos and espressos cost extra. The infinity pool is the absolute highlight and is beautiful throughout the day. However, in winter the sun disappears behind the mountains at around 16:45, which is worth considering if spending time by the pool is a major reason for your stay. We had also read comments suggesting that the property was difficult to reach, but we did not find this to be true. The final road is unpaved, but it was manageable even in our small Hyundai and was neither particularly rough nor difficult. For a remote and tranquil location, a slightly adventurous drive should be expected.

The main drawback was the number of mosquitoes, ants and other insects inside the chalet, combined with extremely high humidity. Chamarel receives a lot of rain, so insects are understandable, and the beds come with mosquito nets, which should be expected in this type of environment. However, the chalets are not properly sealed and have gaps through which insects can enter. The only other solutions provided were mosquito coils and bug spray. Spraying everything is not particularly practical, as opening the windows afterwards simply allows more insects inside. Window screens, better sealing and dehumidifiers would make a major difference. The humidity was so high that the bed and bedding felt damp, which made it very difficult to sleep. The bathroom also had no proper ventilation, which had resulted in mould on the walls. Dinner options in Chamarel are limited. The staff offer a full menu if ordered in advance, but we found the food fairly average, although the prices were reasonable considering the lack of alternatives. The chalets have cooking facilities, but that will only appeal to travellers who want to prepare their own meals. With a rental car, we would recommend driving down to Bel Ombre or Le Morne instead, particularly to Wapalapam Restaurant.

Even though the view is beautiful it's only good for 1-2 stay nights even the owner when we tried to check out early he told us they usually don't recommend people booking too many nights The roads to the place are crazy bad especially at night it's so dark and uphill and uneven for the car, it always made our plans difficult to go out and come back worried about the roads and the car and driving It is very pricey in comparison to a lot of places and they don't even include the dinner (which is very expensive), the breakfast didn't have enough options to choose from and wasn't consistent and been too far in the mountains you almost have no options to eat and no delivery services There was no one to help with the luggage and we had to carry them ourselves The internet was soo bad and they even told us there was no solution to this The shower hot water was limited and we couldn't shower one after the other as the hot water would finish after 1 person used it (as it uses the solar system) The pool is also not heated In the end we had to check out early and booked another place which was an excellent decision to make The owner didn't seem to care about the feedback, said he has heard this before many times and he doesn't care if we gave him 1 rating and that we won't be coming back to Mauritius anyway which seemed he is not keen on improving or listening to feedback

Unieke locatie met een adembenemend uitzicht. Het verblijf heeft zeker zijn charme, maar er zijn ook enkele aandachtspunten.

Wij verbleven er in juli, wat daar winter is. Daardoor was de kamer vrij vochtig en hing er een muffe geur. Verluchten wanneer je het hotel verlaat is helaas niet mogelijk, omdat de buitendeur van de kamer niet op slot kan. De schuifdeur is je toegangsdeur. Daarnaast kan de airco enkel koelen, terwijl verwarmen in de winter welkom zou zijn. De kamer was vrij koud. Er is wel een houtkachel buiten, maar het hout dat wij kregen was behoorlijk vochtig, waardoor die moeilijk aan te steken was en weinig warmte gaf. Wij verbleven in kamer 6, die naast de technische ruimte ligt. Daar stond een elektrische installatie die ongeveer elke 30 seconden hoorbaar aansloeg. Overdag stoorde dit nauwelijks, maar ’s nachts was het storend en had het een negatieve invloed op onze nachtrust. We hebben dit verschillende keren gemeld aan het personeel maar hier werd niets mee gedaan. Ondanks de prachtige ligging zijn dit toch enkele zaken waarmee toekomstige gasten rekening kunnen houden. We vonden het ook teleurstellend dat er niets gedaan werd voor onze honeymoon zoals bijvoorbeeld de kamer versieren.

Die Unterkunft war wirklich atemberaubend. Wir hatten die Queen-Suite und ich vermisse das Bad bis heute. Aber die gesamte Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und schön angelegt. Allerdings ist es im Dschungel. Im Dorf gibt es ein paar Restaurants, aber sonst nicht viel. Das muss einem bewusst sein.

Great location & beautiful surroundings. Lodges were great too & beautiful wooden carvings details. The views were just surreal. Breakfast & dinner had lots of choices for adults & teenagers. Staff were excellent & catered for all our needs.

What makes the place a standout is the professionalism of Karishma , the manager . From the minute you step into the foyer you felt welcomed and at ease .Her massage is the best we have ever encountered on our many stays in different accommodation.

It says chalet includes a fireplace which sounds romantic , however the wood required for the fireplace is not free . The pricing policy of not including vat in the advertised prices of service and items once at the chalet .( The menus and chalet directory did mention vat not including in pricing ). The kitchen staff needs guidance and mentoring in dealing with clients .

Gros bémol sur les tarifs : on paie ici le prix de Paris, alors qu’on n’y est pas. 17€ pour un simple cocktail, des plats à des prix totalement excessifs… Pendant nos trois semaines de road trip, c’est le seul endroit où les prix affichés sur la carte ne comprenaient pas les taxes. Résultat : très mauvaise surprise au moment de régler l’addition, avec un montant final bien plus élevé qu’annoncé. Un établissement agréable pour le cadre, mais qui manque clairement de transparence sur ses prix. À prendre en compte avant de réserver.

De locatie is super, vriendelijke personeel, eten in het restaurant was erg lekker., het was comfortabel verblijf.

Bij aankomst in de middag was er geen mogelijkheid om iets te eten,, personeel bood wel roast aan. Bij afrekenen de volgende dag kregen we geen rekening overzicht, naar onze mening hebben wij veel te veel betaald.

Le cadre est magnifique: nature et atmosphère unique. Le personnel sur place a été chaleureux, attentionné et sincèrement désolé des problèmes rencontrés.

Dès le premier soir, le climatiseur du chalet réservé fuyait l'eau à cause d'une fuite interne confirmée par le technicien le lendemain. Faute de solution, nous avons été relogés dans un chalet plus petit que celui réservé. C'est dans ce chalet que nous avons trouvé, en une seule nuit, plusieurs cafards (dont un sur la table de nuit, sur les affaires personnelles de mon épouse), une souris courant sur une poutre près du toit, ainsi que des déjections de souris dans cette même zone (signe d'une présence installée). Nous avons tout documenté par photos et vidéos. Face au problème lié au climatiseur, le propriétaire a contesté l'existence d'un problème de maintenance en invoquant l'humidité tropicale, et nous a accusés de « faire pression sur son personnel » pour obtenir une compensation. Sur le signalement des nuisibles, il n'a pas répondu au fond : aucune reconnaissance des faits, aucun geste. Face à cette situation, nous avons quitté l'établissement après une seule nuit sur les trois réservées, et avons dû trouver un autre hébergement en urgence à nos frais. Nous cherchions le dépaysement en pleine nature mais nous ne nous attendions pas à ce niveau de nuisibles. Les prochains visiteurs doivent savoir à quoi s'attendre. Au-delà de la panne de climatiseur et des nuisibles, c'est la réaction du propriétaire qui nous a le plus surpris : minimiser le problème plutôt que le reconnaître, culpabiliser ses invités et refuser tout remboursement pour des nuits non passées. En cas de problème ici, n'attendez aucun geste. Le cadre vaut le détour, mais il ne fait pas tout : nous sommes partis après une nuit, avec des cafards et une souris pour souvenirs, et un propriétaire qui minimise les problèmes. À vous de juger si cela vaut le risque.

Sehr schöne Lage umgeben von Palmen. Das Team vom Chamarel Mountain Chalets war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen war sehr gut. Täglich lokale Spezialitäten. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

Den Pool könnte eventuell mit Solar etwas erwärmt werden…jammern auf hohem Niveau.

It was an amazing experience staying in the mountains surrounded by tropical jungle. We were very kindly upgraded to an enormous suite with an incredible bathroom, which was a lovely treat for our honeymoon. Breakfast on the terrace was delicious with excellent vegan options and the views were great. The staff were lovely and gave us helpful recommendations.

Not their fault but the mosquitoes were very persistent, we suggest bringing Deet and using liberally! It meant we used the swimming pool area less than we expected. We thought the food in the restaurant was on the expensive side once you add on the tax. We were still happy with our stay.

Wonderful peaceful location with amazing views, but also not too far from the beach. Food was excellent as were the staff. The pool area is beautiful, with fantastic views although due to the time of year the pool was a little chilly. Super comfortable beds and lovely shower. We walked to the waterfall which was so nice and planned to use the e bikes too buy unfortunately only one was available.

Our chalet (number 10) was a little chilly and damp I think this is because of its position on the grounds with a super treetop view but does not get any sun. Also the sofa wasn’t particularly comfortable. We could have done with a torch in the room for the walk up to the restaurant, also an umbrella.

Tolle Unterkunft mit sehr freundlichen Menschen. Das riesige Gelände mit den vielen schönen Pflanzen ist schon sehr besonders. Unser Bungalow war riesengroß und top sauber. In machen Kommentaren wurde die Anfahrt als schwierig empfunden, davon sollte man sich nicht abschrecken lassen - ist eine ganz normale kurze Schotterpiste die mit jedem normalen PKW gut funktioniert. Der Poolbereich ist phantastisch. Leider fanden wir das Essen im Restaurant nicht so klasse und auch das Frühstück geht sicherlich noch etwas liebevoller - daher der kleine Punktabzug - aber das ist natürlich sehr subjektiv.
