Stunning Views and Friendly Host
Road to the property
The location was beautiful. We really enjoyed being able to go on self-led game drives, see the animals up close, and go 4x4ing on the designated 4x4 trail. The view from the cabin was exquisite! The complementary rusks and sherry were a nice touch.
The cabin is a bit run down, and requires some maintenance. One door doesn’t have a blind, and as it was full moon, we didn’t sleep very well. The water pump was very loud and disturbing. There’s a flight school nearby, and the planes flying overhead all day until 10 pm, disturbs the peace somewhat. The lighting in the cabin is very dim, making reading/playing games in the evening difficult. Only 1 of the 3 provided paraffin lamps was functional.
Loved the calmness and the little things like tea, coffee, wood and some rusks.
The fireplace at the cottage never had an option of being closed so everything rained wet.
Please charge one fee for a couple
Fact that a couple is charged separate fees
The environment was so peaceful and tranquil. I loved engaging and watching the animals.
Access to the reserve. I drive a sedan and it took longer to arrive to the site because of the terrain.
Beautiful farm, accommodation good.
There was no freezer in the cottage. The website shows a fridge freezer. There was only a fridge without a freezing compartment.
We really enjoyed everything
What i didn't like was the little bit of wet wood that was supplied and was only enough for 1 small fire. I had to use a full pack of blitz, the 2 fire lighters that were supplied and paper plates to try make the fire burn. The grid was dirty and the grid brush had no brush left. More info would be appreciated once booked, bring water, name of accommodation/house that was booked, electricity situation etc...overall we enjoyed it! O, the lanterns all seems to be leaking, or maybe I didn't use it correctly. Thanks for a good time..
The view was amazing. We really enjoyed the quiet nights. The walks amongst the animals were awesome. I wish we could have stayed a bit longer. We will certainly be back.
Nothing.
What a lovely big farmhouse, clean, comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed our drive around the farm (we do recommend an all wheel drive or 4x4 vehicle for the road, particularly if it rains.) We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return again soon.
Mitten im Nationalpark zwischen den Tieren
Bisschen schmutzige Toiletten
A very, very, very beautiful place. So quiet you can hear your self think. I enjoyed the wild animals. You get welcomed by Zebras and Antelopes as you drive in. Definetly coming back.
Time moving so fast 😑
The rooms were exceptionally clean and accommodating. Staff; utensils; linen, bathrooms and the environment at large.
The location needs to be improved and the access road is not good though its government related.
I loved it and will recommend it to all my friends and fam
our cabin was remote and very private which we loved, the view from the cabin deck was amazing
the kitchen could do with a few more pots, sharp knives and bowls, the fridge was also not very cold and leaking a bit.
The view was amazing
Nothing
Unbelievable view and very clean
Road could be looked after a little better
Had a lovely stay and woke to a herd of zebra! Such a cool experience
I got a flat on the way there! Not their fault but that road is no joke!
I had an incredible stay at Mansfield and enjoyed by time in the cottage. A lovely solo retreat that I hope you return to one day. Amazing sites. walkable nature reserve with friendly staff.
The property is ideal for families going on a holiday, there are various activities to keep kids and adults busy. The property was neat and tidy.
There are carpets in the chalet which I think is not practical and the shower design causes a huge area of the bathroom floor to also get wet which could be dangerous. We only needed a place to overnight and the location is a bit out of town.
Mansfield is an amazing place to stay. We arrived to see giraffes outside our window at sunset, and it just got better. Great small collection of game and amazing birdlife - saw so much just walking around the reserve each morning. The cottage itself was great too, very spacious with a private braai. Incredible value, would 100% stay again.
Het adembenemend uitzicht in combinatie met de natuur van het wildpark. Ook de mogelijkheid van het zwembad is een pluspunt. Het totaal van de beleving maakt het tot een onvergetelijke herinnering
Niets
we enjoyed the stay , nature on its best witch wild around the cottage al th time
the roads in the park are not so good for a sedan. please be aware we had a pofadder on our braai area
The view is absolutely EVERYTHING!!!!! Stunning!!!!!
Sadly the inverter is not strong enough for the hair dryer.
The amazing views and it felt so secluded yet safe. Totally amazing cabin in the woods (reserve) experience. The reserve itself was nice too.
Spectacular location. Caring helpful staff.
The noise from airfield nearby

The 43 Airschool planes buzzing till 12pm
I booked the farmhouse for 2 people and had the whole house to ourselves. Coffee, tea and risk.
The main bedroom as good, and the wild life
While the location had potential, there were a few aspects that affected our stay. The office is attached to the house, and we could hear conversations and phone calls from the adjacent room, which impacted privacy. Staff also come in and out on the driveway... to I suspect for work. The property felt quite old and could benefit from better maintenance, particularly in the kitchen and bathrooms where there was visible mould. Because of this, we did not feel comfortable using the showers. Unfortunately, the photos did not fully reflect the current condition of the property, which was disappointing. Due to these factors, we chose to leave a day earlier than planned.
We loved everything about eagle's nest. Its the perfect getaway to just forget about life and relax. We sat outside till late with the parafin lamps and enjoyed the quietness. We realised that being off the grid is easy. The giraffe being a stone's throw from the back door was incredible. There is a lot of antelop. The rusks added an extra special touch. The bed is comfortable.
We loved every minute of our stay in the cabin. Everything we needed was provided. It was spotlessly clean, and the linen nice and crisp. We were surprised to have the solar lights as we were expecting to only have parafin lamps, which we used anyway :) It was a nice touch to have tea, coffee, sugar, milk and rusks provided.
This wasnt something we didnt like, and it did not affect our stay in any way......this is merely an observation for improvement one day. It was raining and very windy so we battled to braai on the deck, as the braai is very exposed,
The shower drain is very slow to empty, so u end up standing in a pool of dirty water while showering.
Everything!!!!! Quietness
Nothing
We enjoyed the environment and the location. Incredible beauty and quite a lot of wildlife. Will definitely recommend bringing along insect repellant
Mansfield is a beautiful piece of paradise- from the still, quiet night to the incredible game available to see, we so enjoyed our short stay there.
Overall, our stay was wonderful, the only slight downside was the bed in the main room being very light and the bed having quite a divit in the middle which made sleeping a bit uncomfortable.
The views of the river and rolling hills were spectacular. Waking up to the sound of birds is serene.
The fridge was not working on a scorching hot day in a wooden cabin. No cold water or ice provided either. The manager came to "fix" the fridge, without any success. There was no apology or ice or anything done to make up for it. The fridge stinks of rotten meat in the freezer and is rusted. The whole property is neglected regarding basic maintenance.
The view was amazing. Enjoyed the bird life, giraffe, zebra & other animal sightings. The pool and other amenities down at the river were good. Our cabin was clean & comfortable and had everything we needed.
The water system was a bit noisy but didn't detract from the enjoyment of our stay.
Beautiful chalet at the Eagles Nest & Amazing views, beautiful reserve & wildlife.
Very accommodating, the farmhouse is huge and very nice. You can drive or do the walk which we walked, take some takkies we took about 2 hours to do this, stunning views and animals don't bother with you walking on the paths.
Nothing to report here
Bring close to animals and being able to walk around
The oven instructions were poor so couldn’t get it to work also there is quite a bit of light aircraft noise on occasions.
Die grandiose Lage der Lodge, der wunderbare Geruch nach Holz und die Tiere im Reservat

Friendly and efficient staff, stunning accomodation and beautiful setting. Everything was perfect and we hope to visit again. Thank you Nicole and team for making our stay special.
De ruimte en de rust van de accommodatie en het reservaat. De mogelijkheid om mooie wandelingen te maken.
Our braai wood was wet and the fire lighters did not work. We could not get the fire going. I have phoned before the time if we had to bring our own wood and fire lighters and was told we will have at the unit. How disappointing.
The wildlife and being nestled away in the mountains
The road to the bungalow was a little difficult. It would be in your favour if you have a high SUV car
View, bungalow, animals... The relaxation
Invertor kept dying... Only used it to charge phone.... Shower water kept going hot, cold all the time Road to the bungalow not that great for normal cars
Such a treasure to have found this place — we only wish we had booked more nights! The cabin is set in a breathtaking location overlooking the reserve, where we spotted plenty of wildlife. We woke up to the peaceful sounds of nature, feeling completely relaxed. The cabin was clean, well-equipped, and incredibly warm and cosy despite the cold weather outside. A truly wonderful stay — we’d love to come back again!
Spacious and clean
Na
Pool n wifi and spacious
Pool a bit dirty
Siphokazi was very welcoming, the cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. The accomodation itself was great. The toilet has a plumbing issue as well as the shower, all in all the accomodation was excellent, thank you.
The only thing that was a little shocking was the state of the infrastructure at the bottom by the river. Everything else was superb.
The pictures online do not do justice to the cottage what a beautiful place definitely coming back soon .
Nothing
The views were breathtaking
We loved the spacious farmhouse. The Farm is beautiful. The Zebra, Wildebeest and buck so close to our spot was spectacular to see.
The only negative is the Map of the Hike around the property is dated and needs to be updated.
Lovely seeing the animals on the premises through the windows while washing dishes.
Nothing.
Everything
The shower can be a challenge for older people. It needs a non slip mat and the glass bottles should be replaced with plastic ones to avoid accidents
Very clean. Peaceful
At the campsite there were campers playing very loud music. Made having a picnic at the river unpleasant but we moved up to the viewing site which was amazing.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Birding good
No deepfreeze Oven dirty. Couches too low. Access road poor.
It was a lovely stay!
Small little touches like wood, firelighters, coffees, rusks, ice, liquid soaps in the bathrooms and flora in the rooms were gratefully appreciated. Neat, clean facilities with clean towels provided
Beautiful views and comfortable. Having the Giraffe so close was an experience
Na
Location was good, close to the gate
No power in the morning, therefore no water for the toilet and shower
