Reviewed Sep 9, 2026Location: if you don't drive and rely on transit bus, 500m walking distance to 403 is not bad. Clean, and free snacks (tried cookies and coffee).
Two things to improve: 1. HVAC. The room is not able to adjust the temp, as it is centrally controled by the furnace. And after shower, the room can easily go up to 25.5 degrees centigrade, so I had to open the window, which will be annoying as my room is clsed by the entrance. Anyone going in and out cam be heard easily. 2. Mattress is way too soft.

It felt a bit awkward using the main front door and having to remove our shoes on entry.

The house is settled into a quiet neighborhood and very quick to head out to various Vancouver spots using your transportation method. Rooms and Showers were all cleaned with full amenities. If you have a group of 6, this would be an ideal place to stay.

Reviewed Sep 12, 2025The house itself is worth the visit: clean, comfortable and very well furnished. On top of that Julie, the host, is a really nice person that will help you feeling at home even if only for few hours.
The location is suboptimal to visit Vancouver but nothing you can’t overcome with a bus and the sky train. However is close enough (and no noise) to the airport to make your final or first stint a relaxed one.

Our hosts, Julie and her husband, were very friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough to help us including sharing her home made raspberry jam that was delicious. The Shangrila House was immaculate, beautifully maintained, super clean, and equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The host went above and beyond to ensure a seamless experience. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, from the spotless space to the effortless communication. It felt more like a boutique experience than just a stay. I would recommend without hesitation!

Julie, our host, was very gracious and welcoming. She prepared us a great breakfast! Tea and coffee was available in the kitchen and in your room. Also a fruit bowl if you needed a snack. The house is immaculately clean. Several rooms upstairs and all guests were very quiet. We would stay here again. Close to airport but far enough away not to be a problem with noise. 30 min to ferry terminal .

If you have a group of 6, you should book all 3 rooms. The host Julie is very friendly and she will help you whenever you need. The property is very close to all the restaurants and food courts we want to try in Richmond area and you can park your car in front of the property.

The cleanliness and comfort of the room outstanding. The breakfast was a lovely surprise and absolutely delicious. This host offers more value than anybody else … goes the extra mile for guests.
