Nice cheap hostel, helpfull owner.

Bathroom was small.

Very friendly staff!! Good value for money.

A lot of pictures are of the old location, giving a false impression. Room did not have a mountain view as promised.

Great location! The host was amazing. She helped us with the buses coming to cat ba. Our bus arrived almost a day late and she gave us an extra night so we could have two full days.

The laundry service gave us some new stains on our clothes.

Basic, clean family room. Everything you can expect in a hostel.

Onhygiënisch, 2 grote kakkerlakken in mijn kamer waarbij 1 letterlijk op mijn hoofd viel toen ik hotelkamer opendeed. Medewerker jwam mer giftige spray en toen rende 2 kakkerlakken paniekerig door de kamer over mijn spullen. Ik kreeg na en vergaste kamer met dode kakkerlakken een kamer een deur verder. Maar doe jezelf een plezier en ga hier niet heen. Ook dame aan receptie spreekt geen Engels en zal je boos aankijken. Probeer het ontbijt te ontwijken. Is niet eetbaar. Ik heb gewn idee waar de 5 ster reviews vandaan komen..

L’emplacement est convenable dans le centre.

Les photos ne ressemblaient pas du tout à Booking. La chambre était austère et sombre, telle une chambre d’hôpital. La seule fenêtre donnait sur un immeuble à 1 mètre du bâtiment. L’atmosphère était étouffante, nous avons dû quitter l’établissement sur le champ. L’hôte nous a tout de même fait payer la totalité, sans ristourne et sans scrupule.

Everything was great!! The owner and her family were very friendly! Breakfast and location is really good, she also rent scooters and help you with tours. I definitely recommend this place.

Belle chambre spacieuse et confortable. Climatisation efficace et bonne literie. Une coursive faisant office de balcon pour prendre l'air. Le tour en bateau dans la baie de Lan Ha proposé par Gem était très complet. Elle s'est également occupée de ma réservation de bus pour Hanoï.

Chambre pas faite tous les jours et donc poubelles non vidées, y compris dans les toilettes.

Chambre et linge de maison propres. Literie confortable. Bouilloire, frigo et petit déjeuner avec choix. Il y a même une raclette dans la salle d'eau pour éliminer l'eau et favoriser le séchage rapide du sol. Suffisamment de mobilier pour ranger ses affaires. Calme assuré selon les chambres si on évite le côté rue.

Since the queen room is in the main (maybe old) building and facing the street its really noisy...therefore I asked if I can change the room and I could change to another room in the other building on the same day (thank you very much). Therefore the review is for the new room with one big bed and one small: its clean, big and quiet in the night.

The bed...I know that beds in tropical countries are harder due to humidity but this bed was the hardest I had since my 3 months of travelling. I woke upe evry morning with backpain. Advice to the hotel: buy a toper

The property is in a great location right bang in the middle of town. The property is clean, well maintained and quiet at time. The staff are excellent, especially the owner Gem, who is there all the time and ready to provide rapid assistance whenever she can. Couldn’t fault the stay - great value and nice trip.

The hosts are so sweet - its a mother/daughter who go out of their way to make your stay and time in catba totally perfect! Would 100% stay here again. The beds are traditional asian beds, so pretty hard, but I honestly think it helped me sleep better 😂. Place is very clean and for the price its an absolute must stay!

The location is great, and the host is really helpful. The breakfast is basic but tasty. The place is quite old, but it offers good value for money. We booked a room with a balcony, but the host told us it was not available because another guest got sick and had to stay one more night. We understood the situation.

Really nice and clean Room, perfectly located and really helpful and friendly Staff. Gem may help you organising Tours or busses etc. and is a lovely Host. To be honest it kind of felt more like a small Hotel once I entered.

I think breakfast is not the best, but it is included and therefor it is fine! I also feel it’s not the most social hostel in case you are looking for that. There is a common Area But at least during my stay it seemed barely used.

Le cafard dans la salle de bains et le fait que la patronne m'ait vendue l'excursion 30% plus cher que pour les autres clients du boat. Je lui ai dit, m'a diminué le prix. Mais ce n' est vraiment pas correct. Car 30% ça commence à faire beaucoup !

היה מקום מעולה . בהתחלה נכנסנו לחדר שהיה קצת ישן ולא הכי נקי..והמיטה הייתה קשה והמון רעש. יום למחרת המארחת העבירה אותנו לחדר אחר באותו מחיר שהיה מעולה !. נקי חדש יפה מאוד ושקט. המארחת אישה מתוקה ממש ועזרה לנו בהכל!. הארוחת בבוקר ממש בסדר! שימו לב שהמחיר לשייט במפרץ אלונג ביי הוא באיזור ה 550k. תודה על הכל!

Abbiamo soggiornato qui 4 notti, una in più di quanto prenotato. La struttura è nuova e estremamente pulita, Gem, la titolare è incredibile, gestisce l hotel meglio di un resort di lusso, qualsiasi cosa tu chiedi, lei in un attimo te lo fa, scooter immediato in loco, tutti i tipi di tour offerti, te li prenota subito, come i transfer, è stata più che eccezionale. La colazione è ottima, e molto varia, la camera è molto pulita accogliente, climatizzatore nuovo silenzioso, e spaziosa, il bagno pulito, con ottima acqua calda, ti cambia gli asciugamani giornalmente. Dopo 35 giorni di Vietnam, da sud a nord, fantastici, le persone sono fantastiche, direi proprio che questo è sicuramente quello con i servizi, e gestito meglio, con un rapporto qualità prezzo esagerato. Grazie Gem, a te e la tua famiglia per l ospitalità. Eccezionale!

Lovely stay in Cat Ba! The owner was so kind and helpful, and she booked us on a great boat tour and bus back to Hanoi.

Gem is super attentive to all guests and works really hard to deliver a high service level. Anytime we made a request or needed help with something, Gem has always been available. The location is good, rooms are clean and spacious so can’t fault Napoli Hostel. We’ve enjoyed our stay here and even extended a couple extra nights.

Die Gastgeberin ist super hilfsbereit und nett. Sie hat sich bei unserer Ankunft nach unseren Plänen erkundigt und gleich beraten. Wir hatten auch Zeit über die Angebote nachzudenken und konnten ihr dann per WhatsApp schreiben. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Betten sind bequem und wir haben sehr gut geschlafen. Das Zimmer hatte AC, Ventilator und einen Kühlschrank. Die Lage des Hostels ist auch sehr gut, die Straße ist ruhig und man kommt schnell zu Restaurants/Kantinen. Sie besitzt ebenfalls ein Restaurant, wo wir am ersten Tag nach der Ankunft gleich etwas kleines gegessen haben. Alles war sehr gut!

Encontré una mini cucaracha en el suelo, pero se entiende por el entorno abierto.

Gem es maravillosa, puedes consultarle todo lo que necesites. Contratamos un tour con ella y fue una gran experiencia. Recomendaría 100% alojarse aquí. Tiene una buena ubicación, un buen desayuno y camas cómodas para Vietnam. La ducha queda en el medio del baño lo que es un poco incómodo pero puede secar el suelo.

El equipamiento de las habitaciones y el desayuno perfecto, siempre atentos y a disposición de lo que requieras. En la recepción pueden resolver fácilmente cualquier traslado o excursión que estés interesado a realizar en la zona.

Gem is super helpful and great breakfast

Our time at Napoli Hostel was fantastic. It is located at a very convenient location which while being close to the main restaurants and shops is still quiet. Breakfast is yummy and there are several options to choose from. Gem (hostel owner) is beyond amazing. She helped us to organise our transport from Ninh Binh, our boat tour on Cat Bah and the return to Hanoi on a super tight schedule and at a really fair price. Her communication is fantastic and she is always available on WhatsApp. She even called us to ensure that we were in the bus heading to Hanoi after our boat tour, which was really appreciated. Thanks so much Gem for all your help and for making our time in Cat Ba so remarkable!

Location, stanza, colazione.

Siamo stati qua due notti, camera molto carina, pulita e grande. Posizione in centro. Gem, la proprietaria, è molto gentile e disponibile. Ci ha spiegato i tour in barca giornalieri e ci ha consigliato quale scegliere. Le ho chiesto aiuto per fare una sorpresa al mio ragazzo per il suo compleanno ed è stata super carina facendoci trovare in stanza due tiramisù, rose, cappellini e candeline! Colazione varia e buona! Consiglio vivamente!! :)

Très bon rapport qualité prix sur Cat Ba. Malgré les nombreuses constructions en ville nous n'avons rien entendu. La chambre est simple et propre. L'hôte Gem a pu nous aider à booker une croisière d'une journée en choisissant celle qui nous correspondait le mieux, ainsi qu'un transport vers Hanoï à bon prix. Elle est très sympathique et a toujours été présente pour aider. On a pu également louer un scooter directement. Ravie de notre séjour.

Gem was a great host and also rent us a scooter which was a great way to go through the island. The room as clean and as advertised. Also they had a variety of things to choose from for breakfast. Would definitely book again in case I’m on Cat Ba another time. Thank you for the nice stay!

Probably best hostel in town, the twin beds room are fully equipped and very recent, overall it’s very clean and the owner and her family will help you with tours, bikes and visits for a good price

Gem, la chica super amable, se ofreció a ayudarnos en todo. Tiene oferta de tours y trayectos en autobús a otras ciudades que lo gestiona ella misma. Habitación grande y limpia, el desayuno sencillo pero muy buena cantidad y rico. La ubicación muy bien. Muy buen precio.

Comfortable, spacious and very clean private room with working facilities (such as TV with YouTube, aircon, hot shower) in the centre of town. The hostel staff were friendly and helpful and helped us to book our tours and transport and also provided us with recommendations.

Nie był uzupełniany papier toaletowy i woda, do czego Wietnam przyzwyczaił nas jako standard. Można było poprosić o posprzątanie albo o papier :)

Wir waren sehr froh da (Nachtbus von Sapa) und durften bereits früher einchecken. Es werden Touren und Busse angeboten über das Hostel. Wir konnten Wäsche im Hostel waschen zu einem fairen Preis. Zimmer war relativ groß, Kaffee direkt gegenüber auf der anderen Strassenseite. Frühstück war okay

Hostel ist etwas versteckt, da ein gleichnamiges Restaurant (ausser Betrieb) direkt an der Strasse ist.

Rooms was clean, comfortable, quiet, and had strong AC. Gem was super friendly and helped us book our round trip bus tickets to Hanoi for cheaper than we could find on any booking platform.

We especially enjoyed the service. The staff was always nice and very knowlegable. They gave us a lot of advice on where to explore the island. Our room was cleaned and we were provided extra water bottles for free. And when it started raining at midnight, the staff actually took the trouble of taking our shoes to a dry place.

There weren't really any downsides. Our refrigerador made a little bit of noise, but we were thankful if having a fridge in the first place.

In the center of town. Nice clean room on the 1st floor. Comfortable beds with spotless white soft sheets. Bathroom was ok, with a good shower. The owner, Gem, was warm and welcoming and helped with booking a tour too. We had a very good stay. I recommend.

Perhaps one day, the owner would spread love like she does for humans, to other animals too! And have a Vegan Kitchen!!

Die Besitzerin des Hostels, Gem, hat uns sehr unkompliziert und engagiert Aktivitäten (Ganztages-Bootstour) und Transfers organisiert. Auch als sich unsere Pläne wegen des Wetters kurzfristig noch geändert haben, war sie sehr flexibel und entgegenkommend. Wir sind morgens auf Cat Ba angekommen und Gem hat uns einen wirklich super Early-Check-In ermöglicht, sodass wir uns ausruhen konnten. Der Rollerverleih war sehr unkompliziert möglich - die Roller waren funktional aber in keinem sonderlich guten Zustand. Für uns trotzdem die perfekte Möglichkeit, die Insel zu erkunden! Das Zimmer war sehr modern, nett eingerichtet und sauber. Das Frühstück war lecker. Die Lage liegt entspannt in 2. Reihe, unweit von vielen leckeren Möglichkeiten, essen zu gehen.

Als Mensch mit leichtem Schlaf sind Ohrstöpsel hilfreich.
