La grandeur de la chambre est vraiment trop petite et faut se plier pour la vue du jardin, qui ressemble plutôt à une arrière de maison Le rapport prix et grandeur de chambre et wc et douche ds le corridor Il faut des fois attendre ou revenir car occuper Pas de frigo ds la chambre, ni coffre fort Les voisines de chambre ont fait beaucoup de bruits fin de soirée et j ai dû aller demander de venir stopper ce vacarme Je ne conseille pas cette chambre pour une personne seule, et à 68 ans, j ai envie d avoir ma salle de bains Surtout à 200fr la nuit

Reviewed Jul 12, 2026The Steinbock is a wonderful little family-run hotel deep in the Alps. Very traditional, well-designed interiors, high-quality breakfast and dinner, comfortable rooms and good location at the Southern end of Pontresina. The staff is very nice and attentive, and we also received an impromptu taxi ride to the train station after checkout, which helped us a great deal. Access to the spa next door was included even in our shared-bathroom economy room reservation, which was splendid. Overall a pleasant experience!
This is not a slight to the staff at Steinbock, they did a great job, but in the Engadin Valley you will be served in at least three languages per sentence. It is sometimes very confusing and may lead to misunderstandings. Prices in Switzerland are always difficult for middle-class foreigners.

Das war mein Fehler: Ich hatte übersehen, dass man WC und Dusche mit anderen teilen muss. Das Zimmer war im 2.Stock oben (ohne Lift), hatte schräge Holzbalken, wo man sich den Kopf anschlagen kann, zudem leicht verschiedene Levels.- Ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass man für so einen recht happigen Preis so etwas Einfaches bekommt- aber ich hätte es eigentlich wissen müssen in einem Touristen Hotspot wie Pontresina.

Reviewed Jun 17, 2026A typical Swiss hotel — very well maintained, with a delicious breakfast and excellent coffee. The spa area, pool, jacuzzi and saunas brought us a lot of joy after a day spent in the mountains. The staff were extremely friendly, just like everywhere in Switzerland. The hotel also provided us with free public transport and unlimited access to all mountain lifts, gondolas and cable cars in the Engadin region, which made our stay even more enjoyable and helped reduce the overall cost. We liked it so much that we decided to change our plans and stay one more night instead of moving on to the next place. The stay wasn’t cheap, but it was worth every Swiss franc — it was truly wonderful.

Reviewed May 15, 2026This is my favorite hotel in the area. It’s a family business and they personally take care of their guests. I love the building. I love the exceptional spa. The food at the restaurant is good. The building is fresh renewed with beautiful rooms.
I prefer when the bathrooms have floor heating, especially in the winter because you don’t get cold when you spend some time at the bathroom.

Little complicated getting to the train in the morning. Hotel shuttle doesn’t start until after 7am and we had a 7am train. Had to take a very expensive 5 minute taxi to the station. Not the hotel’s fault but plan accordingly.

The food was great, we ate both nights in the hotel restaurant and the room was clean and welcoming. The spa is a clear highlight of our stay, where we were able to relax fully. The breakfast buffet was abundant and all the ingredients felt fresh. The lobby has an adjacent room to get coffee or tea which is very welcoming, ideal to unwind. I celebrated my 30th birthday and could not have wished for a better place.

Reviewed Mar 20, 2026The hotel staff were wonderful, the spa was fantastic, and the bed and room were spare but comfortable. I stay in Pontresina for the ski race every year and it was delightful to sleep in this historic hotel with such friendly, attentive staff.
Generally there's quite a bit of corridor noise, but luckily everyone kept reasonable hours (as is common in Switzerland) and the location is quiet so no noise from outside.
