Spacious, very clean and practical (there is a rack and hangers to put our clothes despite no wardrobe). The bathroom was also clean and water pressure is brilliant

Am Morgen , 8:30 Uhr, niemand erreichbar um den Schlüssel abzugeben. Für die Moskitos in der Nacht kann aber das Hotel nichts.. Das Umfeld ist in weiten Bereichen der Stadt etwas runter gekommen.

The room is clean, bedsheet, towels, floor, bathroom. The bed is comfortable and the air-conditioning is good. Keep up with the cleanliness 👍🏻

The staff response is rather impolite and emotional, perhaps due to their inter communication wasn't too good. He doesn't answer calls and does not respond to text messages.

Simple but spacious room a bit outside the center of Ipoh, but many restaurant options close by. Good option for a couple nights in Ipoh.

The swinging sound of the hotel grill everytime someone opened it, could be hsard from my room which is the room closest to the entrance.

Pas de réception, on doit récupérer la clé à la caisse du restaurant au dessous. Le personnel n'est pas accueillant, quand vous leur posez des questions ils vous répondent par des sons inaudibles, on s'est aperçu qu'ils ne comprenaient pas l anglais. Il n'y a pas d ascenseur et dans la chambre il n'y a ni bouilloire, ni frigo, juste le strict minimum. Impossible d ouvrir la porte de la salle d'eau correctement bloquée par le lavobo. La lumière passe au dessus et au dessous de la porte de la chambre. Ils ne font les chambres qu'à partir de 16h. Le pire de la moisissure derrière les coussins de la tête de lit. Nous avons du quitter la chambre après la deuxième nuit mon mari étant asthmatique. Chez contacté via Booking un responsable de l'hôtel, seul moyen de les joindre, afin de leur dire que s'était inadmissible de louer des chambres pouvant nuire à la santé des clients et leur demander le remboursement de notre troisième nuits, après avoir attendu plusieurs jours, je n'ai eu aucune réponse.

We got the exact same room as in the pictures. Perfectly clean. Very comfortable. Window in the room giving on a quiet side street, so very calm during day and night. Check-in is easy. The staff is reactive through whatsapp. Hot water in the shower (all looks brand new). The AC is efficient and silent. We were provided 2 small bottles of water per day.

It would be better if there was a water provider in the corridor for all the guests to use freely, rather than giving a few small bottles, it is not enough, and it makes a lot of plastic waste.

Location is near Ipoh old town, about 15-20mins walk to Concubine Lane Had heater, dryer, towels

"Receptionist" inside the restaurant didn't speak English. It felt like it was an inconvenience to check in. Also didn't explain how the security key on the main gate worked, please don't assume we all knew how it worked. Had to wait for the next guest to show me coz the receptionist was nowhere to be found then and at that point it was exhausting to talk to him coz we didn't understand each other Stains on the bed Lights going on and off twice during my stay

It is not really an hotel. There is no reception and the staff can only be contacted by WhatsApp or Booking messenger. Not close to the center (but Grab is not expensive).

Très bien situé...calme car le restaurant ferme à 11h Récupération des clefs dans le restaurant. Il y a tout à proximité pour un bon petit déjeuner ou chez eux pour déjeuner ou dîner..

Das Zimmer war groß und wirkte mehr wie ein kleines Appartment, da es einen großen Vorraum hatte. Das Bad war echt gut und das Schlafzimmer auch schwer in Ordnung. Die Lage war ganz gut, in die Innenstadt musste man ein bisschen gehen, aber war alles zu Fuß gut machbar.

Es gibt im Grunde nichts zu beanstanden. Ein Wasserkocher wäre noch nett gewesen, um sich Tee zu machen und der TV war leider sehr ungünstig angebracht, so dass wir ihn nicht verwenden konnten. War aber natürlich kein großes Problem.

La chambre était spacieuse, le restaurant en dessous était bon et pas cher et l’emplacement était très bon !

Nous avions une chambre qui menait directement sur la route et il y avait énormément de bruit malheureusement… Je pense que les autres visiteurs étaient moins embêtés par cela !

Our second time staying at Songtam! This time we received a different room - wow. So nice! Great lay out. Nice and dark to sleep. Same extremely comfortable bed and pillows. Beautiful fresh linens and towels (again). Very clean. Water pressure and temperature excellent 👌 Everything is perfect !

Spacious room with amenities to match the price. Fine for a budget hotel. Room was not 100% clean on our arrival.

A little bit of a walk from the main town centre, we would stay closer next time. The staff were not overly friendly but the owner was pleasant & quick to respond with a cleanliness issue we had on arrival.

Friendly "uncle" at restaurant check in area. Easy pre arrival instructions - easy contact with management 👌- location quiet for sleeping - very clean, extremely comfortable IKEA bed/mattress and pillows, new and comfortable linens and towels. Shower pressure and temperature excellent! Location easy walk to downtown area - many eating areas including restaurant below the rooms.

Only 1 item - 1 wall behind the bed has mold coming through the paint - this happens with time - we ventilate the air by opening the windows briefly.

Bon emplacement au calme, à 15 minutes à pieds du centre ville d'Ipoh. Situé au dessus d'un excellent restaurant. Simple, confortable et très propre.

The Songtam doesn't do breakfast. If you think as the Songtam as a restaurant that happens to have rooms, rather than a hotel with a restaurant, you'll be happier, plus it's more accurate. It's convenient to everything downtown, and was very clean. Sometimes they have rooms on sale, for very little, so watch it!

You might have to pester the staff for toilet paper. I would have liked the option of a top sheet rather than a thick comforter.

La cosa positiva del Songtam è la posizione, comoda per raggiungere il centro ma abbastanza defilata da essere tranquilla. Il ristorante affiliato all'hotel è più che soddisfacente e lo staff è gentile.

Visto il prezzo mi aspettavo che in 4 giorni almeno una volta rifacessero la camera, cosa che non è avvenuta. Il Wi-Fi era completamente insoddisfacente.

My 2-night stay was a complete failure of service, basic hygiene, and safety standards. This hotel is not fit for human habitation. 1. Severe Water Failure & Sleep Deprivation: • The running water completely stopped on the first night (approx. 10:30 PM). This issue was NEVER properly fixed over two nights. • A severe, loud noise from the water pressure issues made sleep impossible on BOTH nights. • The owner was deceptive, claiming a plumber couldn't enter because I was inside, while evidence (my AC was off) suggests staff had been in the room, but no repairs were performed. • On the second night, the noise persisted, and the owner’s only solution was manually shutting off the main valve, requiring me to turn it on/off just to access water. 2. Egregious Health & Safety Violation (The Core Issue): • When water was needed the next morning, the staff delivered water to my room in an unsanitary, greasy mopping bucket used by the downstairs restaurant. This water was completely unfit for personal hygiene and constituted a serious health risk. I could not use it. 3. Owner’s Failure & Broken Promise: • Due to the lack of running water and the unsanitary replacement, the owner explicitly promised a FULL REFUND. • The hotel has failed to honor this explicit promise. The experience was ruined by a complete lack of basic amenities, severe sleep disruption, owner deception, and a shocking failure of hygiene. Stay away.

Situación y la habitación era grande y estaba muy limpia, tenías una mesa grande, una silla, una mesilla y un colgador/armario.

Tenías que levantarte de la cama para apagar la luz, o por lo menos yo no vi ningún interruptor cerca de la cama

Staff was friendly and check-in easy. Location was close to some restaurants but a 10 to 12m walk brought you to a market and more options. The room was simple but very clean and large. The bed was insanely comfortable. Airco working as expected and was able to sleep well all nights.

Estaba sucio y había bichos por las paredes. La ducha estaba en el mismo baño por lo que si te duchabas mojabas el wc, y la pila de las manos sin contar con que si te estás duchando, otra persona no puede entrar porque se moja entera…

Für den Preis echt super. Aber der Tisch war staubig... Als wäre seit langer Zeit niemand mehr putzen gegangen... Der Rest war sauber (Bett, Decken und Handtücher) Die Klimaanlage muss man unbedingt anschalten sonst wird es zu warm. Der Check in lief gut. Ich hab im Voraus der Unterkunft geschrieben aber nie eine Antwort erhalten. Kurz vor dem Check in habe ich eine automatisierte Nachricht bekommen mit Kontaktdaten. Das hat dann geklappt. Ist sehr zentral gelegen, hab vieles zu Fuss gemacht, alles in allem super gewesen für den Preis.

No me gustó el sitio; no es que esté muy apartado, pero tampoco céntrico. Unas ventanas que no cerraban del todo bien mucho ruido, y algunos mosquitos. Por unos 3-4 €, seguramente hay mejores opciones.

Very spacious room for a solo traveler. Very clean throughout. Excellent price.

I had a very good stay at Songtam Hotel. The room was clean, well equipped, and comfortable. What really stood out was the bedding. The bed had a super comfortable mattress, perfect pillows, and silk soft cotton linen. After one month of travelling in Malaysia, this was the highest quality bedding I have found so far. It made a real difference to the quality of my rest. A solid choice for a short stay in Ipoh.

There are a few things to be aware of, although not necessarily negatives. There is no lobby and no lift, but I understand it is an old building. At the ground floor there is a popular restaurant that serves excellent food. The hotel counter is inside the restaurant, and the staff send a WhatsApp message on arrival to stay in touch for anything needed. Their working hours follow the restaurant schedule from 10.30 am to 10.30 pm, but outside these hours they still reply promptly by WhatsApp and were very accommodating with my requests. The only thing I really missed was a mirror in the room. I had to use the one in the bathroom, which has very little space for skincare products or makeup, so I kept going back and forth from the large desk. It is a small inconvenience but worth mentioning.

Well located. Close to many food vendors, laundromat, and convenience stores. Short walk to Ipoh Parade shopping mall. Easy walk into old sector of town, Concubine Lane and tourist areas. The room was clean and comfortable with good air conditioning. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Would stay here again.

The room was a good size, walking distance (for us, around 15 minutes) to the main touristic area, the room was spacious and nice.

The check in process was really weird, you have to text someone else, and then ask for the keys at a restaurant, it feels like they're doing you a favour when you're paying for the service.

Clean and nice, wish we could stay more than one night.
