Mountjoy Ella

Nous avons tout aimé! Surtout la vue depuis notre balcon. Nous nous sommes posés là pour lire de temps en temps et c'était très agréable. Le petit déjeuner compris était copieux et bon ! Le personnel très gentil. Le lit bien confortable ! Eau chaud qui met du temps à venir mais qui fonctionne très bien.

Ce n'est pas qu'on a pas apprécié mais la guesthouse est en haut d'une forte pente, donc préparez vous a grimper. Mais il faut ce qu'il faut pour avoir cette vue. Et c'est largement faisable. Même les tuk tuk le font.

L’emplacement est top, tout proche du centre tout en ayant une vue incroyable sans aucun bruit. La chambre est très spacieuse et confortable. Le propriétaire ainsi que les employés sont très sympas. Le petit déjeuné est également très bien. Je recommande à 100% vous ne trouverez pas meilleur rapport qualité/prix

Las vistas increíbles y el desayuno muy abundante

The room was really pretty with an amazing view. Overall the place was really nice and comfortable as we stayed for a day only.

The room took some time to check in as the previous tenants vacated late. There was also some delay in getting breakfast, but it was compensated with a slight discount. The owner was very helpful with all things and the manager was slightly helpful.

El alojamiento tenía unas vistas estupendas. La habitación era muy amplia con camas cómodas y acogedora. No tenía aire acondicionado, solo ventilador aunque no lo necesitamos ya que el tiempo no era tan caluroso.

Quizás el acceso, ya que no estaba del todo bien indicado.

Amazing view, nice bathroom and very friendly staff the breakfast was so kind

Las vistas desde la habitación eran preciosas, vimos un amanecer de película desde la cama. El personal muy atento y nos prepararon desayuno para llevar que estaba buenísimo. Muy buena ubicación.

Las vistas que tenía la habitación, son muy bonitas. El desayuno estaba bien y poderlo disfrutar en la terraza de la habitación nos encantó.

Le point fort est incontestablement la vue depuis la chambre. Et aussi l emplacement : à proximité du centre animé d’Ella tout en étant totalement isolé du bruit de la ville! Bon petit déjeuner. Un gérant Kevin a l écoute , qui se débrouille pour répondre aux besoins de ses clients, et toujours avec le sourire. Moustiquaire appréciable!

A savoir: la route pour accéder à l hôtel est très pentue! Mais tout à fait gérable! Un tapis de bain serait appréciable. L isolation des chambres n est pas optimale.

The best view ever!!! Kevin was lovely and the free breakfast delivered to our balcony was a dream!! WiFi really good and super clean modern room. Close to the town centre but bear in mind it’s a big hill to access the property.

Udsigten er helt vidunderlig og hotellet ligger fint i forhold til byen. Ligeledes i gåafstand til særværdigheder som Ella rock, little Adam’s peak og 9 arches. Personalet er super søde og hjælpsomme.

Udover udsigten og selve værelset er hotellet meget spartansk. Vi havde to værelser og det ene havde IKKE aircondition selvom det var angivet.

Clean room, with a beautiful view right from the bed!

Nice property with great view, helpful staff especially getting bags up the hill, plentiful breakfast, stunning views. Close to lovely Ella.

Tricky car access and with a few additions could increase rating e.g. glasses, somewhere comfortable to sit, newer towels etc.

The staff was amazing. There is a steep hill leading to a hotel and they helped to carry our luggages. View from the balcony is worth a million and here you can get it for a cheap price.

Sehr moderne und geschmackvolle Unterkunft mit unglaublich schöner Aussicht. Kevin ist sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit.

A vista do quarto.

A wi-fi é péssima. Precisei realizar reuniões de trabalho e simplesmente não funcionou. A estadia somente aceitou pagamento em dinheiro, visto que a máquina de cartão estava quebrada. Quase não existe privacidade nos quartos, que são quase colados à recepção. A manutenção do espaço também precisa melhorar; a recepção tinha um cheiro ruim. A água quente do chuveiro também é ruim, com pouca vazão e água quase fria.

We had a beautiful view from our room. The room was spacious enough and clean. Beds were clean and comfortable. Bathroom was descent. Hot water was available in the bathroom. Breakfast was nothing grand but descent and sufficient. Value for money. Overall we had a good stay.

The location of the hotel is a bit out of the way. It is situated up on a hill. The road going up to the hotel from the main road is steep and narrow and then it takes an acute angle and runs steep down. Our 6 seater Van (the transport we used to travel across Sri lanka) driver refused to drive up this road - saying it was too risky. So we had to take a TUK-TUK to reach our hotel from the main road and another TUK-TUK brought our luggage up to the hotel. I think this was the only down side of this hotel, otherwise everything else was good.

Great view. Location was quite good. Mini fridge for cooling drinks was useful. Decent for the price.

Overall the room could have done with a little more cleaning as we found a lot of dead bugs when we arrived. We also kept finding some bugs throughout our stay (presumably that were getting through the cracks in the walls/tiles). Room could include more furniture like bedside tables or wardrobe.

Fabulous people, great room, lovely views. They were very happy with arranging our taxi to the next location too.

Het uitzicht is prachtig, bed ligt lekker, personeel is ontzettend aardig en dat allemaal voor een mooie prijs.

We really enjoyed our stay there. The view from the room is amazing. The room was equipped with everything we needed and the staff was kind and helpful! The hotel is on a hill, but it is accessible by tuktuks or cars. We would stay there again.

Fantastic views, great staff , nice quiet location up a hill to get to accommodation but that normal for Ella. A nice light airy room with a comfortable bed and good hot shower and kettle to make a cuppa in the morning , it was great to sit on the large balcony to see views of Ella rock

Detta var inga problem för oss som är unga men det är en ganska brant backe upp till boendet. Vi blev erbjudna frukost men fick inte veta att det kostade förrän efter att vi hade ätit. Den var bra, men vi hade önskat att veta att det inte var inkluderat innan det erbjöds, för då hade vi nog inte ätit den.

The room is excellent. The view is breathtaking. The room has a really big balcony. The staff is really friendly, always want to help, and always available. Ella is a really touristic place, so the prices are bit high compare to the local average, but you can find some really good places near to the hotel.

The view from the room is amazing. The bed is very comfortable and not rock hard. The shower had hot water and decent pressures The staff are very kind and helpful. We loved their dog too. It’s definitely a good option if you’re on a budget.

The walls need to be cleaned, there are lots of blood spots from killing mosquitoes and it left the place feeling dirtier than it was. Really the room is in need of a paint. We felt that in September, only having a fan wasn’t sufficient, we wished we had paid more to have AC.

Las vistas.

Somos un grupo de 3 chicas que se quedaron anonadadas con las habitaciones. Empecemos: 1. La ubicación está bien cerca de la zona de restaurantes, pero las cuestas son muy empinadas. 2. La limpieza, alucinante. Sucio, con huellas en las paredes, en el suelo, excrementos de lagartijas en todos lados, moho en el baño tanto en la ducha como en el lavamanos. El agua sale turbia. En una de las habitaciones no se podían cerrar las ventanas que dan a la terraza. Las juntas de puertas-ventanas estaban rotas. 3. No hay zonas comunes y las puertas para entrar en la habitación están justo en la recepción- comedor lo cual es un poco impactante e incómodo. 4. No tiene generador y ambos días se fue la luz y no tuvimos luz en muchas horas, mientras que otros hoteles sí tienen. 5. El check in es a la dos y no nos dieron una de las dos habitaciones hasta las cinco. 6. El dueño del hotel no contesta, no sabíamos cómo hacer el pago, al final se lo dimos a un trabajador que era el manitas. 7. Está en obras y van para largo. En fin, una experiencia que no repetiríamos ni en sueños.

La colazione non era disponibile neanche a pagamento, contrariamente a quanto riportato. Camera mai pulita o riordinata durante la permanenza. Qualche formica in camera.

Pobyt bardzo udany. Personel chętny do pomocy na każdym kroku, pyszne śniadania. Pokój bardzo czysty, a widok był niesamowity. Lokalizacja super 3minuty od głównej ulicy w Ella. Bardzo polecam!

With a direct view of Ella Rock, that's the best one can ask for. The balcony is spacious, yet private. Everything in the room is great, bed was comfortable, mosquito net provided, bathroom was spacious.

It is a little difficult to find

Love the location though you have to walk uphill to reach the place. But the views from the balcony is fantastic, and I could even do my birding from the balcony itself. Spotted like 5 different species of birds in my 2N there. Short walk down to the main thoroughfare.

The view is amazing. Very close to the village, but none of the noise. Basic facilities, no breakfast, but just next to the place little restaurants that offer a good breakfast with the same view. And there is a water kettle in the room. I could sit on that balcony for hours. And I did 😉😃

You can park on the roof, but the road is very steep to get there, but that goes for most places in Ella. Mosquito net has a few holes.

The view was amazing. It was very close to the main parts of town. It was excellent value for money. Great service, the staff were very helpful and kind. David and Thuwan were lovely.

There were a lot of ants, but this was a minor issue.

The most incredible view from our bed, really accommodating host too, went above and beyond to help us arrange transport to other places.

Was clean and the view was nice! The location was also very good, near the main road, but there was no noise :)

There is quite a hike to get there, but nothing to complain really about. Not the highest standard, but good for the price.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Specially Thuwan. Gave us all the tips about Ella. All the kitchen utensils were available. Beds were very comfortable. Room has a very good view of the mountain.

There was a defect in Bathroom zink

The hotel offers a panoramic view with lush greenery all around, and you can see beautiful waterfalls right from the balcony. The staff is also incredibly friendly—I really enjoyed exchanging with them.

Everything was very good

Perfect location, quite new, great view and very clean! There are only two rooms at the top so very nice!!

Doesn’t have an AC in room which seams common in Ella. There is steep hill to get there which is why the view is sooo good! Catch a tuktuk for few $ if its an issue.

The view is amazing, verandah perfect for taking it all in, the surroundings are quiet and peaceful. The staff was attentive but unobtrusive. He provided information and tips about the surrounding sites. Spotlessly clean. Great breakfast

Everything perfect. The hotel is situated at the top of a steep hill but it wasn't a problem as we got tuktuks up. the hill.

Please be aware of elevated location, may be difficult for older people

The staff it’s friendly, breakfast was delicious (coffee, fruit juice, eggs, toasts and fresh fruits). The bathroom it’s great too, and there is a glass separated from the toilet which is quite precious in Sri Lanka. The view is fantastic from the balcony equipped with 2 chairs and a table.

The fun was tremendously dirty so we weren’t able to use it. There is no wardrobe and not enough space to keep your stuff.

This property had the most stunning view of Ella Rock, it was amazing to awake up to every day and sit on the balcony with a cup of tea. We only supposed to stay here 1 day but extended it to 3. The staff were most helpful and gave us a discount for extending our stay. The room was nice and clean.

The door to the balcony didn’t close properly and there a little walk up a hill to get to it but if you don’t want to then you can always take a tuk tuk.

This was one of my favourite accommodation while in Sri Lanka.. fantastic location, view and facilities. Only 2 rooms at this property and I was the only one staying there.. waking up to the cool mountain air, watching the sunrise and the storms/ clouds coming in from bed or the balcony was amazing!
