Phen Art House, Artistic Living in the Heart of Old Quarter

Super stijlvolle inrichting met leuk terras om de activiteit op straat in het oud kwartier van Hanoi te observeren. Goed bed, prachtig sanitair, alleen maar overtreffende trap. En de ruimtes om iets te drinken zijn onwaarschijnlijk leuk met allemaal hoekjes en kantjes en een gezellig interieur waarin je kan blijven snuisteren.

Wat jammer dat er geen ontbijt aangeboden wordt, maar aan de andere kant, je steekt je neus buiten en keuze te over om je te laten verleiden tot een Vietnamees ontbijt!

Very central whilst feeling like it had enough space, friendly staff to help with any questions, the in room guest book was really helpful with local recommendations. Having a well staffed and quiet cafe at the bottom gave the support we needed as tourists. Would recommend this to my family and friends!

The room was clean, cozy, and beautifully designed. Relaxing and peaceful. The staff/owner were welcoming, very kind which made our stay so comfortable. We would gladly stay here again.

The stay would have been perfect if we could actually use the fridge. Because of the room's energy-saving auto shut-off, the fridge loses power when you leave and doesn't get cold. Hanoi was blazing hot, so not being able to keep our drinks chilled in the room was very disappointing. Please fix the fridge power issue for future guests! Otherwise, the rest of the hotel was wonderful.

What really missed the mark is the lack of cleanliness. Glasses for water- dirty. Cup on basin - dirty. Class door for both bathroom and room - dirty. Looks like housekeeping didn’t do their job! 🤔🤔🤔 What is the strangest design is that from the outside, you can actually look into the toilet! So be careful since there may be a peeping tom when you are doing a dump 💩 or drying out after your showers!!!! Air con shuts down on its own even when we are inside the room! Someone in the hotel was knocking on the wall for at least 1 hr at 0800 hrs .

Just in the heart of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, surrounded by cute bars and supermarkets. The place is perfect for exploring Hanoi on foot. You enter through a lovely Coffeeshop. Room was spacious, I basically had everything I needed.

What really disappointed me was that my room wasn’t even cleaned ONCE during my entire stay (4 nights). As the air conditioning switches off when leaving the room, you can imagine the smell in the room when coming back. This includes the small fridge, that either didn’t work properly or that also turned off when the room card wasn’t put. I left some fruit inside; it all mouldered within a day. This didn’t really contribute to the overall comfort and made me even more upset since the staff had assured me when checking in that my room would get cleaned during my stay. Regarding the overall noise: yes, Hanoi is noisy in general, but I wouldn’t say this hotel was particularly more affected by noise than other accomodations I experienced in Vietnam. So this was no issue at all.

Staff accogliente e gentilissimo. Purtroppo non ricordiamo il nome del ragazzo con cui ci siamo interfacciati, ma ricordiamo di sicuro la sua premura e la sua estrema gentilezza. La stanza era bella, curata e pulita.

Se ci fosse la colazione inclusa sarebbe perfetta.

Die Einrichtung hat einen ganz tollen Stil. Das Coffee House hat einen entspannenden Vibe. Das Zimmer für das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist top. Die Lage im Old Quarter ist sehr praktisch, viele tolle Restaurants sind in der Nähe. Der Hoan Kiem Lake ist zu Fuß erreichbar. Das Personal ist super freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Wenn man Tipps braucht für beispielsweise einen guten Ort zum Essen, kann man immer fragen.

La deco, l'ambiance et surtout l'accueil ! On a testé 2 chambres différentes et elles sont très bien et très propres. On nous a conseillé de bons spots et de bons restos. L'emplacement de l'hôtel est super pratique car dans le old quartier, près de tout, mais pas bruyant dans les chambres pour autant.

Great location, the room is beautiful and the bed is comfy. Air con was cold and the hotel provided filtered drinking water and ice. The coffee downstairs is so good and the common areas are very snuggy. Tofu is the resident dog, if you're lucky enough to meet him. So much art to look at, it really was an amazing find. We've booked to stay on our way back.

A little bit of road noise but it's to be expected in the middle of town. Also some ambient light in the room overnight but I sleep with a sleep mask so didn't effect me.

alles super, vom Personal bis zur Sauberkeit - wir würden definitiv wiederkommen. Sehr komfortabel war der Aufzug in die oberen Etagen

-Baustelle nebenan, nachts und morgens sehr laut -aus dem Treppenhaus/Flur konnte man ins Badezimmer schauen, das war etwas störend da man sich beobachtet gefühlt hat.

В ванной комнате стоит решетка деревянная и прозрачное окно. Мне это вообще не понравилось так как снаружи если приглядеться, то все очень видно, особенно если сидишь на унитазе. Никак это прикрыть или закрыть нельзя. Поэтому чувствовала себя максимально неуютно так как кто-то может подсматривать за тобой во время того как ты делаешь свои дела в ванной комнате

Probably one of the most unique places we stayed during our trip. Phen Art House has such a beautiful design, with thoughtful details throughout, and the linen was incredibly comfortable. The café serves amazing coffee, and the hospitality was outstanding. The team was so accommodating and helped us with every question we had, even assisting us when our flight was delayed and plans became uncertain. It’s the little things that made us feel so welcome. A truly memorable stay that I would highly recommend.

The location/staff/coffee and bed were all fantastic. We had a late check in and they were fantastic on this. We would 100% stay here again.

There is an awkward window towards the bathroom I would put a blind on. But no one can see in, I’d love the reassurance.

Stayed one night and it was fine, went out the next day and when I came back the room was infested with ants, 1000s of ants everywhere even on my towel for the shower. I went down to complain to the staff and they told me they would help me later, while all 3 of them were playing games on their phones? I asked politely if they could help me now as it is disgusting and they were so rude. I had to leave and the owner would only reimburse me 25% of the cost as he said he had to pay for cleaning, which in my opinion an ant infestation is not an issue I should be paying for. Disgraceful service, the people were so rude. Do not stay here

We booked a double room with balcony, the room size was great. The style of the room is wonderful, with personally chosen fittings and fixtures, made by authentic artisans. The location is excellent too, right in the heart of the old quarter, with so much activity at your door step. The coffee downstairs is a great way to get your day started!

The room was lovely, but I can't say I'm a fan of this glass walled bathrooms trend! Thankfully there's an internal blind you can pull down on both walls for a some privacy if you're sharing.

De gastvrijheid en het personeel in specifiek Kaydan en zijn familie beviel ons het meest. Er was een verbouwing, dus vandaar hadden we een andere kamer gekregen, zodat we er minder last van hadden.

The Phen Art House is in the heart of the Old Quarter and alive with activity! The balcony we had on our room provided us with a perfect place for people watching and really immersed us in the atmosphere of Hanoi. The room was clean and well lit with a wonderful shower and our host was welcoming and thorough in his explanations. Would really recommend this place if you're staying in Hanoi

We were the room directly above the cafe which, during closing and opening times, was quite noisy when trying to sleep and was close to street level so we'd recommend to take some ear plugs.

We enjoyed our stay here, very cute and comfortable right in the Old Quarter of Hanoi, making it easy to get around. We were here for our last night and only had the one night stay which was perfect. The room was comfortable and spacious enough for two suitcases. The cafe is also lovely to sit in with lots of room and enjoy a salt coffee (our favourite). The staff here are super helpful as well and will arrange transport for you too, they got a spacious car for us to get to the airport.

Freundlicher, persönlicher Empfang durch den Inhaber. Die Lage ist absolut top im Herzen der old town. Sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Haus und auch die Zimmer sind sehr schön gestaltet.

Aufgrund von zwei Aussenwänden heizt sich das Zimmer relativ stark auf bei hohen Temperaturen. Dafür kann der Gastgeber selbstverständlich nichts. Bei der Ankunft war die Klimaanlage aus und es hat sehr lange gedauert, bis eine angenehme Temperatur im Zimmer vorherrschte. Um diese zu halten, musste die Klimaanlage bei min. Temperatureinstellung auf Maximalstärke laufen. Dies hat in anderen Unterkünften deutlich besser funktioniert. Deshalb gehen wir davon aus, dass die Klimaanlage nicht vollumfänglich funktionierte - hier wahrscheinlich nicht mehr ganz dicht in den Leitungen und daher keine volle Leistung. Wir sind leider sehr sensibel bei diesem Punkt und haben uns daher entschieden, unseren Aufenthalt abzubrechen und noch am selben Tag zurück in unsere vorige Unterkunft zu wechseln. Hier hatten wir ein angenehmes Raumklima. Dies mag sicher für viele Gäste keinen großen Einfluss haben. Wer jedoch auf ein kühles Zimmer wert legt, ist bei extrem heißen Tempersturen - in unserem Fall 37° - in einem größeren Hotel mit stärkerer Klimaanlage besser aufgehoben. Zu einer anderen Jahreszeit hätten wir uns hier jedoch sicher sehr wohl gefühlt! Leider wurde beim Kauf von Getränken im Haus auch nicht der angebotene Rabatt vom Mitarbeiter verrechnet (ist mir erst später aufgefallen) bei der Ankunft vom Inhaber jedoch schon. Dieser bot uns bei unserer aprupten Abreise (via Telefon, da nicht persönlich vor Ort) auch an, am nächsten Tag kostenlos bei ihm Getränke zu erhalten, eine Teilerstattung wurde uns jedoch nicht angeboten. Dies wäre eine nette Geste gewesen, zugleich allerdings auch nachvollziehbar, dass dies nicht erfolgte. Leider haben wir aufgrund der kurzfristigen Umdisposition erst etwas zu spät über booking.com erfahren, dass wir eine Erstattung i. H. v. 50% erhalten hätten können.

Down stairs is a coffee bar that serves very good coffee. The hosts were very welcoming. Highly recommended if you want to stay in the old quarter. Quirky and charming tactfully furnished.

I believe some of the bookings/tours made on our behalf were at the expensive end. Owner looking to make extra from us. I requested receipts for bookings, told he would get them, but never received them.

Wonderful oasis of calm in amongst the hustle and bustle of the Old Quarter. Rooms were beautifully decorated, clean and very quiet. Staff couldnt be more helpful! The price compared to similar accommodation ratings was a huge plus as well!! Would highly recommend!!

Friendly staff, the owner was very lovely and helpful! The space was beautiful and we immediately felt right at home. It was really nice being able to wake up and go downstairs and get a delicious coffee in the morning too! Highly recommend staying here, particularly if you are like us and value a quieter atmosphere to come back to at the end of a long day of exploring.

I loved this place! It was literally staying above the coolest bar/ coffee shop and it has stunning interiors. The room was very large and had a sofa in it to chill on. I loved the balcony to have my morning coffee out on. The staff were incredible and so helpful with local recommendations for the best Banh mi!

The bathroom had clear windows- it did have blinds inside to get privacy but you would need to pull them up to actually get out of the door each time
