Llandaff Country Residence

Llandaff is a lovely old historic house in a lovely estate. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2-night stay.

This is an exceptional old building filled with beautiful antiques. The owners, Robin and Elizabeth were great hosts, full of information about the property and the area. Breakfast was superb. I would highly recommend staying here, however don't think it is suitable for small children as there are so many precious items on display.Perfect for couples.

The second time we stayed here. Robin and Elizabeth are very hospitable and provide an amazing breakfast. Very welcoming with tea/coffee and muffins. Love the house and all their beautiful furniture and collections.

A wonderful character home with history and beautifully maintained and decorated with spacious bedroom. Welcoming hosts Robin and Elizabeth made us feel at home and went out of their way to ensure we had a comfortable stay.

If traveling with an elderly person the stairs to the top floor might be a bit much .

An extremely quiet place, not far from the town, can enjoy a comfortable rural life.

The hosts Robin and Elizabeth welcomed us into their beautiful home. The room we stayed in was large and had everything you needed. The breakfast was delicious. We'd definitely stay here again.

Liz & Robin are friendly, welcoming hosts who took time to sit & chat over a coffee on our arrival. Large, comfortable ensuite room. The 1890's house is huge & full of interesting furniture, clocks, music machines, & bits & bobs - the more you look the more you'll see. So interesting to see how a well off family may have lived over a century ago. Staying here is not just about having a place to stay, it's a memorable experience, and Liz & Robin go out of their way to ensure that is so. The full breakfast provided is varied and very comprehensive; so much variety and attention to detail. Even the fruit had been grown on site.

A real old fashioned English style hotel with everything you could wish for.. Robin and Elizabeth were a charming couple and made sure we had everything we needed - thoroughly enjoyed chatting to Elizabeth. Breakfast was freshly cooked and attention to detail was first class.

Excellent hosts. Fantastic historic property filled with period furniture. Lovely gardens and peaceful setting. Such a unique stay. Fantastic value for money. We would have been very happy to pay extra for the breakfast which was included in the room rate.

We took a room with ensuite in a beautiful character home set in expansive grounds in the countryside. The owners have furnished and maintained the property with meticulous care. We were welcomed genuinely as the owners' guests. The breakfast in the beautiful dining room was as fine as anything we have enjoyed in our travels. We have stayed before and will stay again - a perfect base for an extended stay in the Wairarapa.

There was nothing that could have been better - it was perfect.

Breakfast was excellent. Full breakfast or continental. Home cooked. Served by the owner. The rooms were old fashioned and EXCELLENT. We got the 'big room' with the ensuite. This place is wonderful and they could charge double. Truly fantastic. Hosts are great too and chatty and huge fun. LOVED IT.

Ideal location and property, slightly rural on the outskirt of town and set on park like grounds, a quiet and tranquil setting with beautiful surrounds. The accommodation was the perfect blend of old-world charm with all the modern amenities you could want and need. The hosts Elisabeth and Robin were fantastic and hospitable from the time you arrive until the time you leave. The cooked breakfast served to you was ample and sensational. This is the kind of property you want to keep all to yourself but also want to tell everyone about. Ideal for a weekend get away and fantastic value for money.

Everything. Far exceeded my expectations. Grand house with gardens to match - think NZ version of a stately house! Very interesting collection of historic vehicles and agricultural equipment in a barn. Owners very welcoming and we all enjoyed a chat over a cup of T.

Pulling the ancient historic toilet cisterns was a challenge but got there in the end. It is not as if you can just drop in to Mitre10 to get replacement parts for a system that may be well over 100 years old - so didn't want to pull too hard. But honestly this is a 10 out of 10 property.

De vriendelijkheid en de persoonlijke benadering sprak ons erg aan. Het huis is waanzinnig mooi, het is doordrenkt met geschiedenis. Wij werden ontvangen met een kopje thee en lemmon cake om daarna elkaar een beetje te leren kennen. Wat een heerlijke mensen!

Beautiful home!! You can wander around the property. The home also features gorgeous furniture dated way back. Lovely rooms. Be careful to pick a room with your own bathroom. The owners are a lovely accommodating couple Breakfast was cooked for us. Eaten in their lovely dinning room. Superb

It was such a stunning home stay. Elizabeth and Robin were the most incredible hosts. It really was like stepping back in time to enjoy this historic house. Great high quality bedding and sheets.

Afternoon tea and homemade biscuits were a delightful treat 😋 The house and hosts have a fascinating history. We will definitely stay again and have already recommended it to friends 🧡 The bed was comfortable, great shower, tea /coffee and biscuits in the room. A peaceful and relaxing location surrounded by delightful gardens. Top that all off with a full English breakfast 😋 Llanduff House is welcoming, interesting, and excellent value for money

Elizabeth and Robin were so warm in their welcome, after a long drive in awful weather- a cup of tea and fresh muffins with caring conversation before I headed out for dinner. My room was just perfect. Warm, comfortable, wonderful views over the garden. Tea or coffee and biscuits in my room. Plenty of towels and extra rugs. Access to a deck if I had chosen to sit outside. Breakfast was amazing - more food than I normally choose. So delicious and beautifully cooked and presented. I felt privileged for the opportunity to visit Llandaff - house and the grounds. I look forward to another stay here.

Llandaff is a beautiful looked after residence. The owners were warm and friendly and welcoming. We were well looked after during our stay. The home was in a beautiful setting with garden walks. A wonderful breakfast. We could not have asked for more during our stay. Thank you.

Old style charm with many ornaments and period furniture. Beautiful cooked breakfast in dining room included . Hosts welcomed us with afternoon tea in the lounge room with hot cross buns. Interesting variety of old carriages in the process of being restored. Had 2 racks for our cases.

Though the room was huge, I didn’t feel I could put items on the old furniture. We decided we preferred not to have accommodation with shared living area

This is a grand older property with beautiful furniture in keeping with the age of the home . The bed was comfortable and the bedding was very luxurious hotel quality cotton. The home was immaculately clean and the breakfast perfectly cooked . It is rare to have such genuine and friendly hosts who have been very flexible for our extended stay. We were impressed by the positive reviews for this accommodation . Now I know all the positive comments are absolutely true. This is a uniquely beautiful home and anyone would be privileged to stay here . And hosts provide a five star service which is rarely found these days . The flowers and the bird song and bunnies visiting the pretty gardens provide a dream like enchanted setting.

The location was lovely in amongst all the trees and very quiet. The breakfast was excellent and the variety was very good. The room was large and very clean, the ensuite was lovely as well. We loved all the antiques and he way the house has been kept in it's original condition.
