Friendly welcome on arrival as well as advance communication on access via lock box. Wide array of snacks and supplies provided in compact but functional and well equipped kitchen. Clean and comfortable and very private. Great selection of games and books for interest and entertainment. Comfortable bed. Decent water pressure in shower.

Lovely clean accommodation, the hosts were really accommodating with giving ilus an early check in. Would highly recommend this accommodation.

Few bugs around the kitchen. Owner could easy fix that with outdoor bag spray, and then it would of been 100% stay.

The communication before arrival was excellent; the self check-in easy and convenient. The flower-filled entry and the garden are immediately charming. The accommodation itself is spacious, extra neat, and interestingly decorated, with an appreciable selection of books about Māori culture. Very agreeable to live in, cozy and charming, with a large bed and a good-sized kitchen area, as well as a parking space just in front.

A little short of bench space, but no big deal. Big bump when entering parking space, that could potentially scrape underside of regular car.

This is such a little gem of a place to stay. It is clean and well presented and has everything you need in the bathroom and kitchen including milk, juice and breakfast items for the next day. The host left instructions encouraging us to help ourselves to any produce from the garden too. It is well located for Hobbiton and other local attractions. I thoroughly recommend this place to any couples travelling through NZ. Thank you for such a lovely stay.

The location behind the draping ferns was amazing. Very well thought out arrangement inside the room. The hosts were very friendly and "over the top" helpful. It was raining and they gave us a ride to the bus stop.

It was perfect for my mother, my elderly dog and myself. A great location to stop between Wellington and Auckland instead of Taupo usually. Super private and beautiful Airbnb, so much nicer and more things provided than anywhere else I’ve paid a lot more for. Felt really safe and peaceful. Would def stay again.

It is a great nicely-appointed unit in a nice quiet location about 0.5km from Putaruru restaurants.

Minor downsides are: (a) car parking is a little awkward, particularly for anyone who is uncomfortable reversing. (b) the TV was not tuned to stations and relied on streaming, for which we could not find instructions; the TV was very slow at responding to instructions via the remote controller. These problems might be quite difficult for foreign guests unfamiliar with NZ streaming services such as FreeView, TVNZ+. I emphasise that these downsides are minor, and would not deter us from staying there again.

Bear in mind you can find harmless spiders inside the house as the place is sorrounded by nature.

Extremely comfortable bed, beautiful surrounding gardens (that you're allowed to pick from), great parking, quiet and nice for listening to birds. Accomodation is well-equipped; little things like basic breakfast supplies and snacks, additionally, didn't just make us feel very welcome but made me (hangry pregnancy moods) very happy on arrival. The apartment is nicely decorated, cozy, and has nice views. Communication and checking in was easy.

Place can get a little chilly (of course there is heating and sufficient bedding though), maybe bring some thick socks or slippers during cold weather for longer stays. If you're afraid of insects, remember that beautiful flowers and veg right outside your window may bring in the occasional crawly.

Very clean and cozy, easy to access with no need to interact with owners. All the extra little touches were appreciated. The snacks, juice and breakfast options were delicious.

We can highly recommend it. It is an extremely lovely apartment. It has everything you need. Besides the typical things, there is some breakfast provided and also oil and spices for cooking. There is even a garden with some vegetables that you can pick. We had a late appointment and it was no problem at all to arrange a late check out.

The host was so lovely & welcoming. As for the accommodation, there was absolutely nothing you needed that wasn't catered for......I couldn't believe how great the set up was !! Such a nice comfortable bed and the decorations were top notch and made it feel so homely. Parking was literally right at the door which made it so easy to move your luggage which was an added bonus. I can highly recommend this place and I'd rate our stay as 10 out of 10 !! If I return to New Zealand I know where I'm booking for the lower section of The North Island. Thank you so much to the host, you are so thoughtful and welcoming to your guest which was greatly appreciated 💯👍

The whole place was really good I enjoyed staying there and the unit had everything you could want and more. Area was very quiet and I loved the outside area with table and chairs to sit out there and just enjoy the surroundings.

Peaceful could hear birds cows and nature , trees swaying in the breeze. Kitchenette fab. Huge variety and quantity of snacks much appreciated and drinks hot and cold. Games , table to sit and eat at , inside and out. Park right by the door Free salad veges in garden. Nature lovers will love this cabin. Stars very visible at night due to location and setting. Great cooking facilities and fridge . Everything functions so if you just want basics no frills and nature by the bucket loads , this really feels like the place to be. Loved the hangers by the door for bags coats etc. Great tv and channels and instructions how to use the tv . Lots of games if you’re into that.

Car Park was very tight , lots of gorgeous ferns etc just a tad too in your way to get your luggage out past it all into the house and also a bit overgrown to get to the key lock. Underfoot was uneven by the car so nearly twisted an ankle a few times. A little damp smelling or perhaps some new carpet and a lick of paint will help? The spiral step upstairs with the door into the upstairs of the house, felt a little un-private, felt funny looking up knowing someone could look down on you sleeping. Creepy. And kept bumping head on the staircase to access suitcase storage. Would have loved a soft snuggly couch to watch tv after a long drive. I think you should try reconfigure the room. Maybe some screens on the windows to stop 🕷️ spiders & bugs. We loved leaving the windows open but got a woppa spider on our bag in the night. Felt very dark. Maybe the spiral staircase above intruded into the room too much. No fan in bathroom. High windows in there too. Step up and into over into shower. Old styles. Had to be very flexible to reach backwards for loo paper which wanted to keep falling off into the loo. If you removed those stairs you could add another bed and or couch . This place has real potential. Felt claustrophobic in the bathroom sorry , worried about privacy showering with the above head window and at night , the influx of possible bugs attracted to the light , so couldn’t leave the window open for air in the bathroom. Perhaps that’s why the rooms smelling damp ? Would love to see this place updated freshened up.

Located in a residential area, up a shared driveway but with private access with car parking large enough for my 4 cab Holden Ute (best way is reverse back up driveway to car park space for ease of exit). Beautiful landscape with native flora and fauna. Pebbled and paved pathway to the front door with good lighting. Pleasantly surprised with space of area, has all you need and want and fast wifi! Bed comfortable and place is clean to a high standard. Bonus - pet friendly (if you were travelling with a pet companion). Wall heater beside the bed for ease of comfort for a cosy night (Stayed Sept 2024 in Spring). Quiet and no noise. Just peace ✌🏼 Highly recommend and will stay again.
