Large room and very friendly, hospitable staff. The fruit at breakfast was fresh.

Unfortunately the room needed a good clean. I’m not overly fussy but the toilet smelt like urine. The shower hot water tap also dripped into the rubbish bin (I’m assuming that why the bin was placed there). The shower door was broken and unenjoyable. The stay came with complimentary breakfast but no options or variety. The place really needs a thorough clean.

Die Unterkunft hat eine super Lage etwas abseits vom Stadt Lärm Kandys. Dennoch lässt sich alles wunderbar zu Fuß erledigen, indem man den Kandy lake entlang spaziert. Das Zimmer war super groß und sauber und das Personal äußerst freundlich. Ich habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Habe sogar ein kostenloses Upgrade erhalten.

We had an amazing stay! Everything was spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained. The owner was incredibly kind, welcoming, and always willing to help with anything we needed. He truly went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful experience. The hospitality was exceptional, and we felt at home from the moment we arrived. The location was great, the atmosphere was peaceful, and everything exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. Thank you for making our trip so special—we would definitely love to come back!

Could have been a lot cleaner but it’s a good stay with a lovely view

The location was situated close by to the lake, and the other main bits. The hotel staff were very friendly, and they greeted us with a welcome drink. Their card machine was broken to make the payment however they gave us time to go into the centre to withdraw money to pay them later.

The hotel had a very damp smell. The showers were very tricky to use.

Det var kun vi som bodde på hotellet, og det syntes. På kvelden/natten ble lysene på hotellet slukket og vi var der helt alene. Noe som føltes noe utrygt. I tillegg, så ble det ikke vasket på rommet vårt noen av dagene og da vi spurte om håndkle og dopapir så fikk vi ikke svar. (Vi måtte spørre på melding, siden det sjeldent var noen ansatte på hotellet). Vi måtte også betale i cash, siden kortautomaten tydeligvis ikke fungerte og krevde i tillegg nesten 10 000 lkr mer enn det som sto når vi booket. Kvittering på dette fikk vi heller ikke.

The staff were helpful with letting us know where to go. They kindly upgraded us to the room with a balcony as well.

We had to pay cash because the system was down. And I think the bigger issue was there were some lice or some sort of jumping bugs on the bed. We were only there for one night so we didn’t fuss about it too much, but we did let the hotel staff know. I’m not sure if he understood what I was saying though.

The location and the arrangements of the room was so attractive.

The washroom equipment was quite old and not comfortable.

Wir hatten ein fantastischer Aufenthalt in Starry Boutique! Vom ersten Moment an war das Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Wunderschöner Ausblick, leckeres Frühstück und die Herzlichkeit der Gastgeber. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Die Zimmer und die Aussicht sind sehr schön.

Es ist nicht so gut aus der Innenstadt zu Fuß zu erreichen. Zurück nimmt man besser ein Tuk-Tuk.

Tolles Hotel, etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber noch völlig in Ordnung. Die Aussicht ist toll und das Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Uns hat es an nichts gefehlt.

I love the view…and the lovely young lady at the front desk very sweet..the charm of the place..I loved my balcony with the fabulous view..bed was comfy..3 night stay. Love that it’s so near everything’s but away from main road and on an easily walkable hill. Nearby is the lake and food water and shopping plus some restaurants easy walk. There is a bar restaurant like a block away and the Garden Club tennis center super close with a bar.

The shower was…in need of update but fine for the 3 day stay:)

The hotel was in a good location up a hill off the lake and approx 20 min walk to Kandy centre. Our room was large & had a balcony overlooking the lake area, It was clean & well equipped with nice bathroom & a kettle & tea & coffee & bottled water. The breakfast was pleasant & included juice & fruits followed by cooked breakfast. The staff were friendly and helpful, we would stay here again.

Nothing apart from there were no toiletries in the bathroom as stated on booking.com but the staff soon brought up soap & smaĺ bottle of shower gel when I asked.

I was welcomed by friendly staff and gave me a nice fresh juice welcome drink. My room was very big. Huge comfortable bed and a patio with stunning views over Kandy and a nice quiet location on a small hill hence the beautiful views

Staff very friendly and helpfull

The location was good, you could walk into Kandy in 20 mins or Tuk Tuk for 200-250SLR. The staff were friendly. The breakfast was good, although they should let you know your options. The views were quite good, however, “ lake view” is stretching it a bit! We could just see a small part of the lake. Bathroom & shower were good. When we couldn’t get wi-fi in our room, they put a router into our room for us.

They don’t have a Card machine ( despite Booking.com’s T&C’s)- so they require cash payment. The room didn’t look like the Booking.com’s photos. Some of the furniture needed attention. The air con dripped onto the balcony.

Big rooms! Easy location to get tuk tuk into Kandy for food. Nice breakfast.

We had a broken and flooded toilet and had to change rooms to a smaller room without a view but still had to pay full price for the deluxe room (which was not cheap!). Rooms quite outdated and showing signs of wear.

Location was great, I loved the view from the hotel, it was calm and peaceful and yet very close to the city. The room was clean and well kept.

Hôtel bien placé, chambre spacieuse avec très belle vue et pas très loin du centre environ 10min de marche, prévoyez la lampe torche pour le soir Nous avons été accueilli avec un apéritif, le personnel est très attentif, nous avons eu un soucis de douche mais le réparateur est venu le lendemain. Ils ont été aux petits soins avec nous. Il y a la télé dans la chambre. Prévoyez de l’espèce pour le règlement, ils n’acceptent pas la carte

The view over Kandy is great. The staff was nice and gave us some ideas for what to do in Ella.

Rooms could be a little more cleaned up. The house on general looks very fancy but some things are just a little off. Missing glass / wall in shower, bed was broken, door could not be closed to bathroom. All in all the stay was ok and if you like the great view over Kandy go for it.

I had superb views over the city and the mountains! The room was clean and spacious. The staff was super friendly, I even had a welcome drink. The breakfast was also very good. The location was also excellent with easy access to the city and nice restaurant nearby.

Beautiful stay in this gem of a place overlooking the city. The hosts were delightful, the views from our balcony incredible, and the room very spacious, clean and comfortable. And the breakfast was homecooked and delicious..We felt like at home and would greatly recoymmend Starry Boutique.

The boutique hotel is located up the hill, in a quiet area, yet it's only a 5 - minute walk from the main road. The villa is big, with comfortable sitting areas, and balconies with a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains. Guest can use the kitchen. Rooms have a kettle. The beds are comfortable. Staff are helpful.

The bathroom in our room needs serious renovation: the sink was cracked, the shower enclosure was missing one door, so each time we took a shower the bathroom floor got flooded, the shower drain was clogged, therefore the shower tray got filled to the brim each time we took a shower. The water in the shower took a long time to heat up. Weak WiFi signal.

As there was a large group of us, we had the place to ourselves and we were able to make ourselves at home! The views are stunning and the staff were really friendly, easy-going and really helpful.

This is a large house converted into a hotel. It is located on a hill above the city. The rooms are large, there is also a space for socializing (the former kitchen, dining room and living room). The breakfast was good. The host is truly warm, kind and hospitable.

The closets have probably never been cleaned. The bathroom is really bad, the shower is dirty. The door doesn't close properly so you have to slam it shut.

The location of the hotel and the room, washrooms was in an excellent quality. Worth for money. The best thing of the hotel was it was near to Kandy city and some of main areas of Kandy. The flexibility of the staff was so great. Thank you Starry Boutique!

It was all ok. We just felt it needs more time to be our choice.

The staff were very friendly and welcomed us with a juice and snacks. We were early for check in and expected just to leave our bags but we were allowed into our room. The property is a beautiful spacious building with great views, but it is a little rough around the edges. The business is only 2 months old and they are still in the early stages of renovation.

Property is at the top of a steep hill, so you probably want to get a tuk tuk up!

The location was lovely, overlooking Kandy lake, really gorgeous. The linens and towels were all brand new and the hotel was very clean. Nice comfortable bed and the rooms are very spacious.

The location is wrong on google, so it was sometimes hard for drivers or tuks to find the hotel. Some of the hotel items are brand new and some are much older, like the shower. I think the owners are slowly updating as they go along.

For a rookie, Adeesh the manager is doing and excellent host in optimising the use of this beautiful property located in a quiet neighbourhood of Kandy.

Had a great stay, location is great, very close to the center, 5 minute by tuk tuk. The villa is very spacious and clean and the rooms are great. Very nice and kind staff, very helpful in planning the day in Kandy!

We stumbled upon the Starry Boutique by chance, and we literally found a villa immersed in vegetation atop the hills around Kandy. The rooms are spacious and clean, with huge windows that offer a breathtaking view. There is also a kitchen and a living room available. The two people who welcomed us were extremely kind and made us feel at home. Additionally, the villa is only 20-30 minutes away from the center of Kandy, despite being in a panoramic location. I highly recommend this place.
