Il signore è stato molto gentile con noi, ci ha procurato due biciclette per girare la città, e ci ha preparato la colazione molto buona tipica all'ora che gli avevamo chiesto. Pulizia ok ma non ha gli standard europei.

El dueño nos atendió genial, nos dejó un Sarong para poder visitar los templos. La cena estuvo genial, con vegetales de su huerta. Nos encantó. 100% recomendable

Host estremamente gentile e accogliente. La camera era molto carina e pulita, come il resto della casa. Posizione molto comoda per visitare i vari siti di Anuradhapura, con possibilità di noleggiare una bici direttamente dall’host, a un ottimo prezzo. Eccezionale il riso con curry per cena!!!

La home stay è immersa in un giardino molto curato, il proprietario è gentile e disponibile, la camera è semplice ma ha tutto il necessario per un soggiorno breve. La colazione non era disponibile, come sapevamo, ma ci è stato messo a disposizione un frigo dove mettere le cose. Abbiamo noleggiato qui le bici per girare la città per un prezzo adeguato. Il proprietario ci ha dato indicazioni su luoghi e posti in cui mangiare, oltre ad accertarsi che ci spostassimo in maniera sicura (eravamo due ragazze) Ogni tanto passa per la strada anche il tuk tuk che vende il pane con la musica.

Such a lovely welcoming family, that wants to do all their best to provite a wunderful stay. Beautiful garden, quality breakfast and dinner, pick-up service from the busstation. So a heartwarming homestay, nice situated for all sightseeing and with bike rental service.

Hébergement au calme et près des principaux sites à visiter. Le couple est tres sympa et a été de très bons conseils. Excellent rice & curry et des efforts pour nous faire découvrir des plats typiques et différents au dîner comme au petit déjeuner. On s’est régalé. On nous a proposé de nous emmener à Minhintale, puis de nous emmener à l’hébergement suivant près de Trincomalee. On les a même accompagnés en soirée à l’un des temples pour voir les célébrations. Et J’ai eu droit à deux petits massages de la cheville, car je me suis fait une entorse… Merci, ça s’est bien rétabli ! On recommande chaudement cet établissement.

Tout était très bien. Il faisait chaud dans la salle de bain… Mais on ne peut quand même pas mettre la clim partout. ;-)

We had a wonderful stay at Olivia’s homestay! The welcome was incredibly warm, and our host gave us excellent advice and recommendations. We had dinner there, and it was absolutely delicious ❤️ We loved every single dish! Breakfast was just as amazing, with fresh fruit, pancakes, and plenty of other tasty homemade treats. The room was very clean, and what we appreciated most was the authentic local experience combined with the comfort of air conditioning. Our host’s kindness and hospitality made our stay truly special. To visit the sacred sites, you can either rent bicycles directly from the host or combine walking with tuk-tuk rides using the PickMe app, which usually cost only $1–2 per ride. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Anuradhapura!

De hosts waren twee super lieve mensen. Geen enkele vraag was hen te veel. We kregen super lekker avondeten en ontbijt, ze brachten ons naar het busstation en zorgden dat we daar op de juiste bus stapten.

Excelente desayuno sin gluten, nos prepararon varios platos típicos, todos deliciosos. Los dueños son muy amables y atentos. Nos llevaron en coche a cenar y a buscar un ATM. Nos recomendaron una ruta para ver los templos. Además se ofrecieron a llevarnos a Sigiriya. Muy recomendable, son personas encantadoras ❤️

Ein schönes ,ruhiges Plätzchen zum entspannen ,fern des Trubels der Stadt.Man kann sich erholen und im Garten Vögel & Mongos beobachten. Ich habe gut im Bett geschlafen,es gibt AC und Deckenventilator.Sehr hilfsbereiter ,verantwortungsvoller und freundlicher Besitzer ,er hat mir einen TukTuk Fahrer für die Stupis & archäologischen Zonen organisiert.Seine Frau bietet Frühstück und Abendessen an ,welches lecker und reichlich ist.Gerne bekommst du eine Kanne Tee und es gibt gefiltertes Wasser .

De host Prajith en zijn vrouw, we zijn enorm goed verzorgd . De locatie is geweldig, dichtbij de oude stad met z’n Stupa’s en Musea’s

Je fais 1m80 j avais les pieds en dehors du lit. Arrivé avec 1h de retard l’hôte n était pas accueillant. Pas d eau chaude pour la douche 😅

Gastheer was vriendelijk en behulpzaam voor het regelen van safari naar Wilpatu en bezoek aan Mihintale. Lekker gegeten bij Cleo's Enkele bezienswaardigheden om max. 20 minuutjes lopen. Mooie tuin bij het huis, zitje is klein maar overdekt.

De kamers zijn (zeer) eenvoudig, een kamer had niet eens een stopcontact. Badkamer is verouderd. De wifi was soms matig. We konden geen gebruikmaken van ontbijt of avondeten-service. En prijs gerekend voor lunchpakket voor safari was niet in verhouding.

Der Gastgeber war sehr Freundlich und zuvorkommend. Er holte uns sogar von der Haltestelle ab. Frühstück kann man vor Ort dazu buchen.

On a découvert la cuisine locale: génial! - jardin - notre hôte a été de bon conseil pour la visite et nous a trouvé un tuk tuk pour nos excursions. Il nous a même proposé de nous conduire à Sigiryia le jour de notre départ.

L'emplacements au milieu de la verdure, à proximité d'un étang et du site d'Anuradhapura. Les hôtes sont accueillant et chaleureux et le repas était fantastique.

Great location in Anuradhapura. Walking distance to the free temples at night. Host extremely helpful and friendly. Food was very good. We had a delicious home cooked meal one night and host walked us to a nearby roadside restaurant that had good cheap food another night. The room was clean and comfortable. Enjoyed our stay here.

Quiet place, confortable and clean, with a pleasent garden. Kind and hepful host.

The property was really close to the temples and the easiest way to travel around was on bicycles which rented out close to the property as well. Overall awesome experience our stay. The host Uncle Ranjith was super helpful and kind. The food his wife prepared for us was really delicious as well. The room was also cozy and clean.

The location was perfect—just a short distance from the Sacred City, which made it easy to explore the ancient temples and historical sites. The hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, offering helpful tips and even arranging transport when needed. The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, with a lovely local touch in the decor. We especially enjoyed the delicious home-cooked meals and the peaceful garden area. It felt like a true home away from home.

The homestay was absolutely beautiful and felt really comfortable and homely. The location was also brilliant, walking and cycling distance from all the main sites (and the kind hosts helped sort bikes out for us to use). The hosts were so kind and went above and beyond to accommodate us and explain where all the best sites are and give handy tips. It was great chatting with them and getting to know a bit more about the area! The food was also incredible. The best breakfast and lunch we had for our whole trip. 10/10 recommend.

This was an amazing stay - a homestay in the true sense where you feel you are a welcome guest in the family home. Everything about the room was comfortable, including the bed, air conditioning, fan and new clean bathroom. Breakfast is available on request and was delicious. The couple let me wash and dry my clothes as well. The owners had family living the same small city as well so we had a chat on the phone, and it was lovely to make these connections. The hosts can help you with everything to do with transport and seeing the area. There is a bicycle rental just a minute's walk away. The location is great - as close as you can realistically get to the temples, in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Highly recommend.

Warm welcome with a cup of tea and beautiful garden. The owner was kind renting a bicycle for us ,the breakfast was so good ever during my journey, highly recommend the stay and enjoy the village .

The owner is the sweetest man in sri lanka: he is up for a meaningful conversation and goes out of his way to be incredibly helpful! The garden is beautiful as well, they keep all different kinds of plants. The location is outside the busy centre, but close by the stupa’s and the Bothi tree. There are nice local restaurants just around the corner. All in all, we had a great time!

Peaceful, close to the ancient city. We were able to use the fridge, there was a toaster and kettle. There was a nice shared space for eating a light meal. Our host shared lots of good information, helped us rent bikes and on our last morning drove us to an important temple that we had missed then took us to the train station.

While the location is very close to the sacred city , restaurants are a bit of a distance but with tuktuks so cheap it really isn’t a problem.

The landlord is good and the service is OK

Things left in the room were lost, and 10,000 rupees were missing. I have traveled to many countries and never lost money in the room.

Great location to stay with a local family while exploring the temples of Anuradhapura, full AC rooms and clean toilets. Basic Kitchen to use. They have meals service and are really friendly.

We stayed at Rate Olivia Homestay with my family from Saturday night until Sunday morning, and it was a wonderful experience. The place is very calm and peaceful, perfect for relaxing. The location is excellent—just a short distance to some of Anuradhapura's most iconic sites. It's very close to Mirisawatiya, and both Ruwanweli Saya and the Sri Maha Bodhi are just 2 km away. The accommodations were comfortable, the surroundings were serene, and the price was very fair for the quality provided. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

It is in Anuradhapura Puja Nagaraya and near Ruwanwelisaya & Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, like the main places in Mahamevnawa Gardens. The best place to visit Ruwanwelisaya & Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi any time in day.
