Privacy and well equipped

Die Lage, die Ausstattung, die Einrichtung, die Mitarbeiter und vor allem die Natur . Hannes war so zuvorkommend und machte unseren Aufenthalt perfekt! Die Game Drives mit ihm waren super toll und sehr informativ - es wurde alles individuell für uns geplant und passend gemacht! Tausend Dank für die wundervolle Zeit!

De locatie en de accomodatie waren schitterend. De safaridrives waren boeiend dankzij de ranger. De woning was in alles voorzien en zeer net.

It is an incredible accommodations with all the facilities you might need on your stay in the park. Our guide did a impeccable job during the safaris and we couldn't have asked for more, honestly, he was one of the reasons why our game rides were top notch! You might get lucky enough to have a family of elephants just outside of our living room window hanging out, unique.

Nothing! Everything was awesome, and there wasn't a thing I could think I didn't like.

We absolutely loved the property, it was way more beautiful than we expected!! We went with 6 kids and they thoroughly enjoyed their stay because they cater for young and old. We loved that it’s still very private and secluded from the other lodges and very complete and comfortable, they had everything we needed for our stay and we didn’t want to leave! Juandre was an absolutely AMAZING guide, very knowledgeable and entertaining, always willing to help wherever he can and we loved that we didn’t need to follow a certain schedule so there was no rushing through anything! Would definitely go back in the future, it’s been one of our favorite holidays so far!!

We loved the house, it had lots of space for our group. The staff were amazing - Hannes, the manager was exceptional. He took us on great drives were we got to see some epic sightings. He always ended the day helping us light the fire pit! Would highly recommend Makanyane :)

Amazing space, perfect for family especially with kids. We had an awesome guide and saw a ton of wildlife.

Oh my, to be away from the rush, at this lovely lodge, with 3 loose standing rooms (with kids bedrooms each) and bath&shower inside and bush showers outside, aircon plus ceiling fans, LOVELY & comfortable, was enjoyable for our family of six. All necessities are available (wifi in living area of main building, tvs, fridges, ice-machine, dishwasher, cleaning lady, etc). Hannes our guide needs a special mention, his friendly, knowledgable and well-mannered presence made this weekend super special! He calmed our nerves and instilled trust when the elephants came hand-reach close to our "Jeep". He showed us 3 male lions and a lioness about 30- 40 meters away, we were the only sightseers at that moment in time and were so blessed. He took care of our needs/wants (bathroom break for little one), etc. Hannes was prompt, we never waited, he even served coffee, etc. deep inside the bush. We will market Makanyane lodge far and wide and hopefully return, if possible. Thank you and God bless.

Nous avons aimé la proximité avec la nature, la qualité du lodge ainsi que le staff qui y travaillent. Le driver Hannes a était extraordinaire durant notre séjour en nous montrant les animaux plus beau les un que les autres. À l’écoute, gentil et dévoué je recommande à 100%. Le staff qui travaille avec lui est aussi très bon, discret et sans faille. Je recommande de ce lodge les yeux fermés.

An unforgettable stay at Makanyane Lodge! 🌿🦁 We had the most amazing time at Makanyane Lodge in the Black Rhino Reserve within Pilanesberg Park. The lodge itself is a perfect blend of comfort and nature—luxurious but still super connected to the wild surroundings. From the moment we arrived, the service was top-notch. A huge shoutout to Hannes and Warwick, our guides, who made the whole experience even more special. Their knowledge of the wildlife was incredible, and they really went the extra mile to make sure we saw some unforgettable sights. Thanks to them, we had up-close encounters with animals in the most safe and exciting way. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to truly immerse themselves in nature while still enjoying an incredible stay. We’ll definitely be back!

The lodge, location and staff were exceptional. Hannes, the manager and our personal wildlife guide, was genius and spotted four of the Big Five in our first 24 hours. Just brilliant.

Can't say there was anything we didn't like!!!

The house is beautiful and was beyond expectations. We went on game drives each morning and afternoon with a knowledgeable guide and had a chance to relax for the rest of the day. It is spacious and well equipped and definetly very luxerious. Would stay here again and would highly recommend

The lodge itself is out of this world. The layout of it means it's can easily accommodate a large group of people but still provides privacy. Each room had an outdoor shower in addition to the indoor one which was amazing! We loved the boma area and spent the evening sat around with a few drinks. The game drives were great. We didn't get to see any cats, but we're fortunate enough to see lots of other animals, including some black rhino and a random hippo on our drive out after check out!

The location was excellent. The lodge was amazing with every facility imaginable, especially the game drives that were included. Owen our personal guide was extremely knowledgeable about all the plants and animals which made it exciting and very interesting.

The showers could have a little more privacy. Local shop is very far.

This was by far the best stay on our trip. We did Cape Town, Pilanesberg and then Joburg! This lodge is sooooo dreamy. It was initially built for the owner to live here and you can see how much detail went into it. Marc and housekeeping were amazing! I would 100% stay here again without a doubt. It was our friends first time to South Africa and they were so spoilt! They got to see 4 of the big 5 - which is quite lucky. We did encounter a scorpion, but you have to remember, you are in complete wilderness. I will dram about this one for a while :(

Makanyane lodge was phenomenal in every aspect and exceeded our expectations. The location and views from the house, the home itself is set up very well set up for entertainment for a family (fully equipped, fire pit etc.), the staff is excellent (very friendly and always helpful), access to game drives great. The lodge is also very spacious and very clean/organised. Really an excellent getaway to the bush.

Nothing- everything was excellent.

Tastefully furnished to create a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The spacious layout provided ample room for relaxation, both indoors and outdoors, allowing us to fully appreciate the beauty of our surroundings. A well-stocked woodpile for the fireplace, boma, and pizza oven allowed us to enjoy cozy evenings gathered around the fire, savouring the ambiance of the bush. Having a dedicated and knowledgable game ranger and private open back game vehicle, allowed us the freedom to decide when and how long we wanted to go for a game drive.

There were a couple of minor maintenance issues, such as non-functioning kitchen and outside lights that made it challenging for the elders to navigate to their rooms at night. And note there is no Wi-Fi available in the third bedroom, which was a slight inconvenience for those occupying that room. Despite these small snags, the lodge provided an excellent environment for relaxation and tranquility.

The facilities were truly exceptional - couldn't have asked for anything better. And to have a game vehicle available was just the cherry on the top :)

The resort was fully equipped and beautiful

This lodge is in an excellent position for easy access to gameviewing and Pilansberg, we had an open game viewer and very knowledgeable, friendly guide at our disposal. The lodge itself exceeded our expectations, it's tastefully furnished and unbelievably well equipped.

We only had time to stay one night which was a huge mistake, you'll want to stay longer.
