Kaffemaschine kaputt (wurde dann ausgwechselt) Dusche läuft aus; viel zu teuer für dieses Haus; Terassentüre defekt (man musste außenherum gehen - die wird wohl nie repariert); Haus sollte man selber Endreinigen

Las vistas hacia el fiordo

No nos dieron las instrucciones para entrar hasta que no estábamos en la puerta. Intentamos contactar con los propietarios y no nos respondieron. Tenían una puerta exterior que no se cerraba. Nos dieron unas instrucciones que nos cobraban más dinero, si no dejábamos la casa tal y como lo habíamos encontrado. Las camas no estaban hechas cuando llegamos. La calefacción en los pisos superiores no funcionaba. La luz de la escalera no se podía encender ni apagar desde el piso inferior. No había ni espejo, ni perchas en la vivienda, salvo un espejo pequeño en el cuarto de baño. A pesar de todas estas incomodidades, lo pasamos bien.

Immediately on entering we had to make our own beds and we then blackmailed that if we don't clean the appartment with a vaccume cleaner and mop, make up the bedding for the next guests (among a total of like 8 requirements), that we would be charged a cleaning fee not disclosed before purchasing our stay!!! Very slippery grassy slope to front door, two separate accommodations meaning we weren't staying at the address on the booking (very confusing and easily fixable via 33a & 33b apptmt numbers). Towels were very small, Chronically bad musty bedding, could hear the people upstairs. Requested to take shoes off on a tiny mat at the door, front of house was bare concrete blocks. Won't be staying again!

The location is fantastic, and is pretty easy to get to via the Flam-Aurland shuttle, although the terrain between the shuttle and the house is a bit rough so I would not recommend doing it this way if you have a disability or similar. The house itself is beautiful and a bit older too, it feels like it has great potential.

My phone was broken when staying here, so I tried to arrange easy entry with the host about 2 days in advance to ensure everything went smoothly. I did not hear from the host until hours before the stay commenced, so I was looking around Flam in case they fell through which was anxiety inducing. Then, rather than simply providing me with the lockbox combination via messages, the host did it in person so that she could charge me extra for a towel and some bedsheets in person, which felt tacky. It was unclear which floor I was staying on, so I accidentally knocked on the door of some other tenants upstairs and interrupted their family dinner, as the host arrived a little later than our agreed upon time. I then had to make the bed myself, and unmake it in the morning and ensure the towel & sheets were prepared in a bag for the host. The host also requested I sweep & mop the entire apartment, wipe down surfaces, do all the dishes, and various other cleaning tasks - I was only staying one night and leaving immediately the next morning! It feels like they should just charge $100 more per booking and pay someone to clean & make up the house between each guest, and do away with all the bean counting, as the stringency of the instructions made me feel on edge for the night I stayed and I just went to bed without doing anything, so that I wasn't charged a cleaning fee on the back end, which it felt like they were looking for any excuse to charge. Overall it is a shame that such a well located & beautiful property is managed so poorly - I haven't even mentioned the lack of homeliness, such as the plastic birthday-wrapping covering on the dining room table that makes the room feel haunted (I assume this is there so that the table doesn't need to be cleaned), and the lack of any basic supplies. If you just need a bed for a night, the place is fine, but I'd recommend spending a bit more on a nicer place in Flam honestly.

Kontakt z właścicielem dość specyficzny. Nie dostaliśmy kodu do skrzynki na klucze przed przyjazdem ( mieliśmy poinformować właściciela 30 min przed przyjazdem że będziemy, co sugerowało że przyjedzie i da nam klucze od domku). Niestety po przyjeździe czekaliśmy prawie godzinę przed domkiem, nikt nie przyjechał, a kod został nam podany dopiero po telefonie do właściciela. Brak ręczników i pościeli ( dostępne za dodatkową opłatą)- szczególnie w świetle tego że łazienka podczas brania prysznica cala- doslowanie cała zalewa sie wodą. Brak dodatkowych ręczników przy takiej dysfunkcji lazienki pozostawiam bez komentarza. Dodatkowo jeszcze brak kubkow- nie bylo w czym zaparzyć sobie herbaty.

View

Many people mentioned that covers and towels are for the additional fee and they clearly old, the noise from upstairs is truly like living in the drum. The steps from the family above were incredibly loud, my head was hurting often and hard to sleep, please do not underestimate this. The owners are clearly not the people who care about the guests if to say politely. You will find a list of what you have to do on check out, it was not disclosed here on the listing - vaccum clean, wash the floors and toilet, take out the sheets you also bought and made yourself to the bag you bought it from (so prepare the rooms for the next guests yourself). The view is the only plus of this place, everything else was horrible and ruining the experience. Nothing to dry the hair or shampoo. The towels were increadibly small, as well as the cups. Do not hope to find tea or anything else in the apartment, even though the shop is 1h away from the place by foot. Bus stop exist but not expensive buses come only several times a day.

The views are incredible. We were able to get a bus to Flåm, Gudvangan and Voss from the bus stop nearby to the apartment. We never had an issue with the bus not picking us up but we had booked tickets on the Nor-Way app for the NW420 and on the Norway's best site for the shuttle. The kitchen is clean and modern. The host was friendly and helpful.

Access to the apartment from the bus stop is by walking along the highway. There is no path. We opted to walk on the outside of the stone barrier where there was a rough narrow verge with a sheer drop to one side. It was ok without luggage but scary with luggage and children. The host did not message with check in details in advance and I didn't get their message after 5pm because we were on the train. We arrived with no way to get in. The host was apologetic and was at the property within 10 mins once we had been able to make contact but make sure you contact and arrange check in in advance as otherwise you may end up waiting outside. The kitchen and house in general is very empty and could be cosier with a few extra details. The bathroom floods every time you take a shower as others have said. We were happy to clean after ourselves but this would be easier with more cleaning cloths and a mop!

The house itself is comfortable, spacious, and well equipped, and we appreciated the peaceful surroundings. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the apartment was a pleasant place to relax after a day of sightseeing. We also enjoyed that the beautiful historic farm museum at Otternes is within easy walking distance and is well worth a visit.

The biggest problem by far is that the location is presented in a misleading way. The listing creates the impression that the property is located in or near Aurland. In reality, it is not within walking distance of Aurland or any other town or village, and for most travelers a car is effectively essential. This is nowhere made sufficiently clear in the listing. We relied on public transportation and therefore experienced major logistical difficulties throughout our stay. Even reaching the nearest bus stops requires walking along the main road, and there are no nearby shops, restaurants, cafés, or other services that can be reached comfortably on foot. What made this particularly frustrating was Booking.com's own description, which states "Guests loved walking around the neighborhood!" We found this extremely misleading. There is essentially no neighborhood around the property. Apart from the lovely walk to the Otternes farm museum, the only practical walking route is along the highway to reach the bus stop. The transportation situation should also be explained much better. Neither the Booking.com listing nor the information provided in the apartment contains any useful guidance about the local bus service, even though it is the only realistic alternative for guests without a car. The buses are relatively infrequent, the system is not straightforward for visitors, and we spent a great deal of time trying to figure out how to get to and from the property. Another unpleasant surprise concerned the checkout expectations. After arriving, we found a notice stating that guests could be charged additional cleaning fees if they failed to vacuum and mop the apartment before departure. This requirement was not mentioned in the listing before booking.

The location was amazing, and hostess Ms. Anne was very attentive. The facility and kitchen amenities were as described in the booking.

The view was beautiful, but the location is misleading. It was a 50 minute walk to town on a highway and we did not have a car. It should be noted that you need a car to stay at this location. Luckily, we had a kind man from a tourist company see us and transported us to the house when he told us how far it was.

The house is lacking any cozy feels of a home. There is nothing on the walls, the furniture is beat up, the bedroom windows have completely see through curtains on them, and we also had to pay extra to have towels to use in the bathroom when we arrived. Towels should be something provided with a night stay. There was also nothing in the bathroom as far as shampoo, or soap.

Il mobilio è molto datato e il bagno è terribile perché si allaga completamente ogni volta che fai la doccia. Gli asciugamani e le lenzuola (a pagamento!) sono vecchi e lisi. Basterebbe davvero poco per renderla perfetta

Very beautiful views over the fjord, and a good location close to Aurland.

To be let into the apartment, we had to wait for the host for more than 30 minutes, even though we gave an estimated time of arrival. It has thin walls, so you can hear the neighbors. They have old, uncomfortable mattresses that should have been replaced a long time ago. They charge extra for linens, and then provide thin, old threadbare towels and linens that have stains. The shower is so poorly designed that it floods the entire bathroom when you open the glass doors because they are directly on the floor and there is no indent or recess for the water to be contained or guided into the drain, so you, as the guest, are required to mop up the completely flooded bathroom after you shower because of the faulty design.

Having to pay extra for towels and sheets was a little strange. Didn't expect that. Probably my fault for not reading the fine print?

Mycket tillmötesgående värdar, så tacksam för hjälpen med att komma till och från boendet! Fantastisk plats, oerhört fin omgivning och utsikt.

Vi hade fått veta att affären vid stationen skulle vara öppen och hade därför inte köpt med oss frukost. Tyvärr hade den stängt. Vi klarade oss men det blev lite snopet tomt på frukostbordet dagen efter..

Гледката беше зашеметяваща. Домакините - любезни. Кухнята беше заредена с всичко нужно като прибори (липсваха чаши за вино). Банята просторна и удобна.

In the bedrooms there were no blinds that really darkened the room. In the livingroom, there was a door to the outside that we were asked not to open. As it was good weather and hot outside, this made it very difficult to ventilate the room.

The rental is all about the view, which was stunning. The house is private, away from the cruise ships and chaos, yet close enough to amenities. The house was very clean/tidy and well appointed with what you will need. The hosts were friendly and easy to deal with. Again, this house is right beside the fjord and the view is the reason for us renting.

I was surprised at having to request/pay for linens. I am not sure that I actually got charged but the very fine print did say there would be a fee. The shower drain situation is odd. The bathroom floor is the cleanest ever, as a result! The living room furniture and all linens need to be replaced.

The view from the property was surreal! It is located on the Aurland Fjord, it was so lovely to have our dinner and morning coffee outside next to the fjord with a perfect view!

The house is so comfortable for the 5 of us. We love the view from the house so much. U can simply enjoy the view from the living room & even from the bedrooms window. Free carpark.

We have to pay for the beddings and yet we have to put the bedsheets, pillow cases & duvet covers ourselves and remove them (as stated in the house rules)unlike other homestays we have been 😔 and the host is not so friendly.

Hi ha varies coses que fan restar punts en la estància en la casa: -La cuina està bé però te molt pocs utensilis i molts estan desgastats -T'obliguen a fer la neteja de la casa amb l'amenaça de que et cobraran un plus de neteja (cosa que no s'avisa a l'anunci) -Et cobren per les tovalloles i llençols (tampoc està avisat a l'anunci) -Hi ha un sofà que fa fàstic de sentar-te, ja que està molt brut En definitiva, falta cura i manteniment per part del propietari que evita que la estància sigui molt agradable.

Really friendly and helpful hostess! When I called the contact number - they answered at once and the hostess arrived within short notice. Absolutely stunning views from the living room! We swam in the fjord surrounded by the mountains. An excellent choice of location if you plan to walk the Aurland Valley and cycle the Rallarvegen during your stay. Really nice kitchen!

The mattress downstairs is in need of an upgrade and the bedding as well.

Der Ausblick auf den Fjord ist wirklich sensationell, es sei denn, man guckt durch die seit längerem nicht geputzten Fenster.

Preis-Leistungsverhältnis: 230 Euro für eine Übernachtung, bei der man dann auch noch selber die Endreinigung machen muss, sind sehr viel. Hinzu kamen auch noch 100 Kronen pro Handtuch- und Bettwäscheset.

This property has a view to die for! The house is literally right on the fjord, with a massive cliff facing you on the opposite side and a view of mountains up the fjord.

The shower leaves water all over the floor, which has to be squeegeed up after every shower. Also, great picture window in the living room, but it needed to be cleaned.

Abzocke! Standort: der Container stand in der Einfahrt von 2 Häusern. Beim Ausparken der Anwohnerautos fuhren diese fast in den Esstisch, da der Container nur knapp 2,5 Meter breit ist. Teilweise keine Vorhänge: keiner im Bad und keine in der Küche und der Eingangstür, sodass die Insassen von Fahrzeugen und Fußgänger direktem Blick haben. Die Treppe ist abenteuerlich und die Matratze auf einer Holzplatte ist ein Witz, da der Raum nur 60cm hoch ist. Diese Unterkunft ist ein schlechter Witz.

The host insisted on personal contact even though there was a key safe. We had to wait. Contrary to the advertisement, we did not rent the entire house; the apartment was in the basement. The ceiling was thin and creaky. We felt like we were living in a drum and could only adjust our sleeping hours to suit the other family. Unfortunately, they went to bed very late and got up before 6 a.m.

The house smells really bad. We had to pay 300 Norwegian kroner extra for the bed linen, we had to put the bed linen on ourselves and take it off at the end. We had to clean the house at the end, for which we were given a vacuum cleaner, and we had to take the trash out of the house.

Verwarring bij aankomst: er bleken 2 appartementen te zijn in zelfde gebouw. Wij belden in eerste instantie aan bij al bezet appartement.

The location is amazing and I think the most selling factor. It's a bit secluded location - but so peaceful. We stayed for just one day, but I can see myself staying for longer to just soak in the peace and nature's beauty.

It was a bit tight for three people, but I can't complain since the outdoors were so beautiful.

Host was a bit rude- we didn’t rent sheets or towels from her- already very expensive property! We did our best to clean up after ourselves as she requested but the place was visibly dirty when we got there initially. Top room was too hot - I slept on the couch

The location was beautiful! The tiny house was new and clean. However, there was a slight varnish smell, which was a bit hard on us since both of us have asthma.

Given that there was no grocery store nearby, it was surprising not to find any soap or shampoo in the bathroom. The towels provided were small. We were given the bed sheets and were expected to make the beds ourselves, which was not the nicest after a long trip. The bedroom area was super claustrophobic, and we ended up sleeping super uncomfortably on the living room couch.

As everyone says, the location and views are great.

As many also comment, the inside is very basic. I’d go further - it’s really dismal inside. Old, shabby, unloved.

The house is located by the fjord, between the towns of Aurland and Flåm. The view from every window is like a painting. The room is clean and tidy and the kitchen is fully equipped. The owner drove to Flåm to pick us up at a reasonable charge, which saved us a lot of trouble.

Public transportation is a bit scarce for people who don't drive. Some bus drivers didn't even know there was a stop called Bøen between Flåm an Aurland. So one time they took us directly from Aurland to Flåm, causing us to transfer again back. Fortunately, we got a refund thereafter.

Too small Bathroom for family of 4

Location: Great location, right on the fjord water. The house is right in the middle between Flåm and Aurland - 45 min walk to either place or 10 min by car, but there is a pedestrian road to Flåm, below the highway, but no such road to Aurland. There is a bus between Flam and Aurland, however, you can't catch it on the move, you need to get on at the starting or final point, tickets can be bought from the driver or at tourist centers. If you are returning home by this bus, you can be dropped off at the place you need. House: The house is at your complete disposal, functional kitchen, bathroom, living room, 3 bedrooms. There are table with benches outside, but no covered veranda. There are houses nearby, this is not a closed area, but no one bothers anyone. The house has the necessary appliances and dishes, bed linen. The house is very quiet, you can't hear the noise of the street and cars. A peaceful view through the window of the fjord. There is no direct access to the water, but you can sit on the stones near the water and even swim. It is allowed to grill on the territory (however, you need to buy a disposable one in the store, but this is not a problem). There was no Wi-Fi during our stay, although there was Internet. During stay in the house, clothes acquire a damp and musty smell, this is not critical, but it does happen. The rooms have poor lighting and no ventilation except for the windows. The overall atmosphere is that the house is not very cozy, it is very utilitarian, such a simple country house - different worn-out furniture, no decor. So if you are caught really bad weather and you don’t go anywhere, then sitting at home is not fun. Cleanliness: The house was quite clean, except for the need for a general cleaning of the kitchen and washing floors. Self-cleaning upon check-out. Communication: The owner is available by phone on English, but answers slowly on booking. You will be met upon arrival, and you will check out on your own.

Notes for the owner: Cleaning: the kitchen needs a general cleaning (microwave, oven, dishwasher, hood), floors need to be washed (especially in the hallway and kitchen), and the washing machine needs to be washed. Furniture: some furniture could be restored or replaced, and decor сould be added to create a cozy atmosphere (lamps, flowers, paintings). Things and equipment: 1. Replace and buy some things in the kitchen - no knives, bad cutting board and frying pan - this is the minimum. 2. If you ask to clean after check-out, please, provide a hand vacuum cleaner - walking around the house with a heavy vacuum cleaner is inconvenient and time-consuming, also provide disposable floor cloths and gloves, washing the floor with a dirty cloth is not very pleasant. 3. Make sides in the shower - it is very inconvenient that water constantly spreads all over the bath, and it cannot be removed with a water brush. 4. Fix or replace the blinds on the first floor facing the garden, otherwise the livingroom is simply not private. 5. The window facing the fjrd on the first floor is such a gorgeous view, but it will be ruined if don't wash the windows.

Stunning views. Friendly owners. Super clean. Comfortable beds. New kitchen. Quiet and peaceful. I recommend walking down the street to the Otterness Farm. It is incredible up there in the evening!

Owner did not inform about additional charges for bed sheets and towels. It was lil too much ask to clean the entire place before leaving or pay cleaning fees. Should have informed.

The location right on the fjord, and looking at the fjord out the window, was unbeatable.

Our main problem is that the listing specifies one double bed and 4 twin beds - this is not correct. There are instead 3 double beds. This technically sleeps the same number of people, but this is a very different situation for adults traveling together who don’t want to share a bed. This should be changed on the listing! Sheets and towels are not included in the price of the room and will cost you 100 kroner each. You will both make your own beds up and strip them on your way out. This should be disclosed before booking. You will be given a cleaning list and will need to comply to avoid a cleaning fee being imposed. We always clean up anyway but again this should be disclosed up front. The small thin towels provided for 100 kroner each were totally inadequate to mop up the entire bathroom being completely flooded after every shower, since the shower drain is placed at the high point of the room, the floor slopes down away from the drain, and the foldable shower walls in no way contain the water. There is a squeegee provided but it’s not possible to completely squeegee up the flood.

A beautiful fjord facing view in a calm house!

You cannot walk to Flåm or Aurland- you need to taxi there. If the host offers to pick you up on arrival, she will charge you roughly triple the price of any taxi that runs in this area. It is not mentioned upfront so be careful before accepting that offer.

Excellent view, especially from the table right outside the entrance. Calm place, walking distance to Flåm (about 40 min). Kids found exciting things to do on the property - explore sea shells, climb on rocks, etc.

There is not storage aside of tiny night tables. We stayed at the bottom floor, which is more modern and compact and more quiet, on the minus side, it has smaller windows and is lthus little darker.

Absolutely perfect accomodation in one of the most beautiful places in the world.

The apartment was located on the ground floor, with all windows facing a spectacular view on the fjord. The apartment was spotlessly clean and inluded all we needed (we only rentedrented bed sheets and towels for extra fee). It is worth mentioning that beds and pillows were very comfortable, so we had a great sleep. The location was great - 8 min to Flåm by car and 20 min to Stegastein viewport. The host was very nice and polite, replied very fast, and was ready to help whenever we would need that.

It is a bit noisy when somebody lives above because it is possible to hear all their steps. Fortunately, we have neighbours only 2 nights out of 4

Hostess was not easy to contact and communicate with but when we finally met her she was great No hooks or surfaces to put suitcases, clothes on - would have made unpacking and putting things away a lot easier We were using public transport so had to catch the nearest bus from Flam, not easy walking with suitcases from the bus stop to the property along a bank on the side of the highway. Really need own transport to get there.

Location was magnificent, views were awesome!

Was not decorated or furnished well. Felt like we were in a storage unit for somebody’s furniture. Had to pay extra for sheets.

Beautifully located looking over the fjord.

Linen wasn’t included, as we are overseas traveler’s. This was a small inconvenience, and maybe should be included in the cost of the rental

This property is all about location. The view could not be beat and it was a short drive to everything we wanted to do. It was also reasonably priced. The host was responsive and allowed us to check in an hour early, which we really appreciated.

When we arrived at the property, we were told we would need to rent sheets and towels. I did not see this information anywhere in the listing. Not a huge deal, but I do feel it needs to be disclosed in advance. This also meant we needed to make all the beds and then strip them all down again at the end. Again, would not have been a dealbreaker for me, but felt the same information should have been mentioned. She also asked us to clean the floors before we left. I felt this was a little above and beyond for a weekend rental. This property had all the basics, but was certainly a bit rustic feeling inside and could use updating. Ok for the price. The shower was more of a showerhead with some expandable folding doors in only bathroom. When you shower, the entire bathroom gets wet and there were no extra towels or bath mats provided to help with the soaking wet floor.

The view for this apartment was amazing! Right on the fjord! Very clean and well appointed, though didn't make use of much because this was a very quick stay. Parking was great and this was an easy place to find with GPS.

There were no blackout curtains for the windows, so make sure to bring an eye mask for the bright summer nights! The towels and linens provided were a bit sub-par: non-matching and obviously worn sheets, blue towels that were worn and stained. They don't provide towels/sheets unless requested and paid for at the property, so bring your own if you're able! There is a lot of sound from the upper apartment if someone is staying there.
