Base Backpackers

I really liked my stay at Base Backpackers. The staff is super friendly. The rooms are spacious with super cozy and large beds. The location is also great: lots of restaurants nearby and close to all sightseeing spots. If I come back to HCMC one day, I would stay here again :)

Everything was clean and comfortable. Air-conditioning in the rooms but they do turn off during the day. Staff were great as well.

Social area isn’t very big, makes it pretty hard to meet people.

The amazing staff

Good location

Nothing about this hostel is comfortable. From the rock hard beds and the flat pillows to the anti junkie uv light in the communal area there is no welcoming feeling or sense of coziness.

Its location is very convenient closer to everything.

They don’t have a lock for the lockers. You have to buy your own which is not convenient. If you have valuable items don’t leave at the hostel. Someone check my things.

Comfortable beds, brilliant and friendly staff, free beers was perfect bonus. bunks were solid, good to have international wall plugs and lockable storage.

lots of mould in the bathroom and rooms a little tight. neon design of the communal spaces is a bit loud!

I loved how kind the staff was, and it was very easy to get around to nearby shops and restaurants.

Drinking water available, spacious room and good location.

Staff can be rude and lack some management skills. It depends on who you met, some were pretty nice. I ended up checking out earlier than booked as I had an unpleasant experience when checking in.

Lovely staff, good location, central but not right next to walking street. Clean bathrooms with soap and shampoo included.

Showers were a bit lacklustre, also they offer 2 for 1 on some bits from 8:30 to 9:30 and 9:30 to 10:30 but if the bartender isn’t there this isn’t possible

The bathrooms can be used by anyone and the floor was a little dirty sometimes because people stepped in with outdoor shoes

Friendly staff! The first hostel of my trip and I felt very welcome! Very social and fun enjoyed the bar crawl. Room was very comfortable and clean.

I am not totally sure of the advantages of a hostel over a cheap hotel or homestay these days - I realize there is a lot of competition. I think the advantage of staying in a hostel/dorm is meeting other travelers and exchanging recommendations. Otherwise, you don't save much compared to a private room at a cheaper hotel from what I can tell. Still, a good atmosphere for sure.

Lovley staff, great location

They wouldnt change the aircon from 23 degrees. In a big room of 14 people this was unbearably hot. We ended up getting a new hotel

Centrally located

We pre booked an airport shuttle. We waited 20 minutes and no one came so we organised our own ride. The hostel didn't give us real time communication options. Only an email which on previous occasions took several hrs or a day to respond. The hostel insisted we pay for the booked transfer in addition to our self organised transfer. We argued and eventually paid half. Our experience in vietnam at other venues was they engaged with us on whatsapp before arriving, allowing real time communication. We would have used this at the airport to find our driver if we had it as an option. The hostel never apologised for there part in the mix up. Just pushed it on us that it was completely our fault

Virkelig god placering og fedt med pubcrawls. Gode værelser med aircondition og gardin hele vejen rundt om sengen. Rart at der var et decideret toilet med bad , som man kunne bruge for sig selv.

Meget lydt, så medbring nogle ørepropper til om natten. Men klart når det er i byen. Toiletterne kunne godt rengøres lidt oftere.

- rien de particulier, mais ce lieu ne correspond pas si vous souhaitez être au calme, et si vous ne voulez pas faire de social. La moyenne d'âge est autour de 20-25 ans

Very friendly fun and helpful staff. Really great location for nights out and facilities were very clean.

Chambre propre et confortable, salle de bain spacieuse et propre. Les espaces communs sont aussi très chouettes.

A localização é fantástica! As camas têm divisão de madeira, não apenas cortina. Cada pessoa tem arrumação debaixo da cama, o que facilita. Bastantes casas de banho e são todas privadas com wc. Foram super prestáveis e disponíveis para nos ajudar. Hostel bastante tranquilo para conversar. Temos uma última noite em Ho Chi Minh e decidimos repetir a estadia.

Adicionava espaço para jogos, para além dos matrecos.

Everything was good!

Staff was amazing, got to play football with them and do insane pub crawls where we got drunk all for free!!

An Indian guy got into our bags and stole some money, lock you bags and get a padlock. Made us completely lose trust in Indians as he had spoken with us and shared stories but still stole the money

I stayed for 3 nights, this hostel is phenomenal and social! All the staff were great especially Ken who would go out his way to help you with any issues. The hostel offers great activities and all round is a comfortable stay.

La ubicación es muy buena, en el centro y a poca distancia caminable de los principales puntos turísticos, pero lo mejor de todo es que no está en la calle ruidosa y durante la noche no hay molestias de ruido, se duerme bien.

Trevlig personal!

Dåligt städade toaletter och man blev direkt smutsig om fötterna när man gick på golvet. Inga brandvarnare i rummen. Man var tvungen att betala deposition för handdukarna.

Helpful and friendly staff. Clean rooms and washrooms. The location is really good.
