Eric, the host, was so lovely and very friendly. For us the location was very important and it was perfect.
The stairs are typical steep Dutch stairs so worth noting for any accessibility challenges.
Absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful apartment. Our host Eric was fantastic and made us feel like part of the family the moment we arrived. Loved the location as it is right in the centre of all the sites we wanted to visit. The apartment itself is beautiful with plenty of space and right opposite a canal where we got to watch the boats go by and the hustle and bustle of daily life from the balcony. Does have narrow stairways to access the apartment, however, this is typical for these original canal apartments, though for us, it just made the stay even more authentic. Would 100% stay here again.
Nothing
Everything 👌
Stairs can be tricky with large suite cases
Fantastic position, great views.
only negative is extremely steep stairs but these give property character
Property was in an excellent location with great views of the canal from the balcony. The host was friendly and accommodated an early check-in which was great given we arrived after 24hrs of travelling. The kitchen was well set up and the bottle of wine and snacks were also a nice touch.
The narrow winding stairs were challenging, specially for carrying luggage upstairs. Like many places in Europe, a top sheet on the bed seems to no longer be provided, but the quilt is just too hot.
The host was incredibly welcoming and helpful
Unique 3 level design, fully stocked kitchen, appreciated the coffee and tea. Clean and comfortable. Location in center of the city of Limburg and views from 2nd and 3rd story during the Christmas Market were outstanding!

This place is excellent. We’re definitely coming back to stay here again. It felt like our own home right in the middle of Amsterdam.
The location was perfect, with lovely views of the Prinsengracht canal. Big windows let in lots of light. Furnishings were comfortable.
The steep stairs were a bit a bit challenging.
Location was perfect. Host was very hospitable. Beautiful Historic apartment
Great location on Prinsengracht - right on the canal and close to cafe’s and the tram. And most attractions (like Anne Frank House, Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Dam Square)are in walking distance. Eric was a wonderful host with clear easy instructions to meet up, and helpful with any questions thru our stay. Thoroughly recommended.
Not a dislike, just a ‘warning’ - staying in a canal house means you will need to deal with steep, narrow stairs. Simply the way they were designed.
Eric's apartment was perfect in every way. Location, comfort, access to restaurants and transport, fabulous view and Eric was the perfect host. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and snacks and immediately felt right at home. Highly recommend staying here.
It was all perfect.
Wonderful location right on the canal, in an excellent area of Amsterdam. Eric, the host, was wonderful. The property was clean and extremely quiet. We would definitely return.
Narrow stairs require some care to navigate
The manager was absolutely amazing and extremely helpful. The decor was traditional ,very comfortable and cozy. Toiletry necessities were provided. Really enjoyed opening the balcony doors for fresh air, and being able to sit and watch boats go by in the canal. There is a happening indoor / outdoor bar, a restaurant just steps away and an excellent Thai restaurant just down the street.
The only challenging part was navigating the very narrow curving stairs to the upper level It was impossible to get our suitcases up the stairs and therefore had to leave them in the downstairs main hall. This made accessing our suitcases awkward If you’re travelling with a carry on or knapsack your fine. Having said that we managed and were not concerned about leaving our suitcases in the hall as the place is very secure and the location is very safe.
What a fabulous apartment. Eric was the perfect host and we had a fabulous break. The perfect location and full of everything we needed.
Nothing
What a beautiful and charming apartment and the location was fantastic! The balcony was amazing with a view of the canals that would be hard to beat. We had a lovely stay here, Eric was so welcoming and gave us some great tips for things to do. The apartment had everything we needed and more, we were sad to leave and can’t wait to go back!
Nothing, it was perfect!
This is a very comfortable apartment, which has everything. The building dates back to the 1600s, beautiful historic site, and perfect location in quite canal street. Eric, the owner, gives you a friendly welcome and offers you good advice and information. Very, very good for everything.
Can't really think of anything I didn't like
We loved staying here. Eric was so welcoming and helpful and the apartment was so cosy- we loved staying in an authentic canal house. There was a little balcony to enjoy a glass of wine and watch the world go by. It was also very central but still peaceful at night.
We loved everything but, as others have said, be aware that the apartment is on the 3rd and 4th floor up very narrow and steep stairs so I wouldn’t recommend it if you have mobility issues or heavy/bulky luggage.
Good facilities Great location
This apartment was exceptional in every way, location, charm, comfort. The host Eric was fantastically welcoming and thoughtful.
Nothing to report here!
The host was great, very welcoming, and shared with us the history of the house. The apartment was great, fully stocked, and very cozy. The location was great, very easy to reach any attraction by foot or by tram.
What a lovely property - we felt like a local and wished we could stay longer. Very spacious, clean and comfortable. Eric was a very kind and friendly host. Great location on the Prinsengracht. Would love to stay here again.
There is nothing to say….stairs are steep and narrow as others have mentioned but this is Amsterdam. For us, it made it feel authentic!
The staff was very nice and left us wine and snacks.
The heating did not work, we had a mouse, and the stairs, which were very abrupt, were not in any of the pictures. Too much money, a hotel would have been a better choice.
Evetything was perfect but especially Eric is the best host ever🥰🥰
Wonderful location at a cosy apartment. Host attentive.
Stairs are very steep.
The area was vibrant and quiet at same time. Great location and excellent hosts.
We could of stayed more days
Cozy appartment in the heart of Amsterdam Very helpful hosts !
Stairs are tricky but that is normal in old canal houses in Amsterdam
The host was friendly and helpful. The location was scenic and convenient.
The stairs were authentic - narrow and curved. It was difficult to get the suitcases up and down. However, it would be a shame to change them, even if permitted, and lose the authenticity
Wonderful attention to detail. Every comfort has been thoughtfully provided with lots of special touches. Comfortable bed, great shower and large bath. Delightful owner greeted us and showed us around his stunning canal house. View of the canal is perfect.
Nothing. We would stay here again and again! Just lovely!
Perfect location, comfortable, authentic and homely, beautifully decorated we were surrounded by Wedgwood and antiques. Also a wonderful host who was helpful logging us in to his own Netflix.
Be aware of tight, steep stairs up to the bedroom. This was no problem for us. The bedroom was gorgeous.
Beautiful apartment. Balcony was so fabulous. Everything was perfect.
Was a fantastic stay! Eric is so kind and welcoming and goes above beyond to make sure your stay is exceptional. The location is perfect, located on one of the main canals.
Absolutely loved everything about it!
Everything was perfect. Eric is the best host
Perfect central location. View over the canal, Balcony. Very clean and spacious. 5 mins to tram stop for train station. Tea coffee shampoos etc. all available.
Narrow spiral staircases
The stairs
What a wonderful place to stay! Eric was such an amazing host, very helpful, knowledgeable & ready + eager to help with recommendations, reservations and any questions we had about the area. The space itself was very clean and so homey and comfortable which is exactly what we were looking for. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The balcony was such an added bonus, right over the canal - just stunning!! The only thing I will say (& this is not at all a complaint just a warning) If you are old or handicap, please be warned about the stairs they are very very steep and skinny.
Nothing, it was perfect!
Brilliant location opposite a good bar and an even better Restaurant. It’s exactly as per the pictures and Eric is a wonderful host. Peaceful as well.
The stairs didn’t bother us but looks others have noted, this is a typical Amsterdam narrow house so if you have bad knees or aren’t comfortable on very steep or narrow stairs, give this a miss.
Excellent location. Easy to get a number 2 or 12 tram from Central station to property. 8 minutes walk to Van Gogh & Rijks museums. Lovely locals pub over the bridge of canal.. also great local pub/bistro 3 minutes away from the property. Really super central, quiet, clean and comfortable. Host is great. Lots of bathroom toiletries. Welcome basket was a treat.
Location amazing, Eric was super nice and house really unique
Stairs are a bit tight so with big luggage or if you are a big person can be a bit tricky. WiFi isnt great so if have to work can be a bit hard
I travel Amsterdam every year. Location is great for me. I wanted to experience a canal house stay which was amazing. We loved the house and the polite owner. All our needs were quite there.
İt would be good to mention narrow stairs, could be a problem with heavy luggages or tall people. Heating balance was a problem between the rooms for cold days. But with the great canal view and the beautiful house we did not mind on our short stay.
We loved everything about our stay. The host was welcoming and warm throughout check in and check out. The home is in a perfect and picturesque location, and is incredibly clean and comfortable. The view is just gorgeous! We highly recommend the canal house to all visiting Amsterdam, you won’t be disappointed!
Nothing, everything was perfect.
By far the location was the main attraction together with the very friendly host
We are in our early 60’s and the flights of stairs were very challenging especially with suitcases
This property was fabulous. Clean and great location. Great amount of space and nice view over the canal. Had a wonderful time here.
Its location and how clean it was and also size
What a gem of a property! Location is amazing and how incredible to sit on the balcony and watch the world go by… So many little touches in the apartment that make it special - loved that the hairdryer had a diffuser for us curly-haired women! Great coffee in the apartment too. You’ll read a lot about the steep staircase, but this was absolutely no issue for us at all. Thank you Eric for a wonderful stay ♥️
Authentic Amsterdam accommodation close to the centre of the city.
The location was maxing and he apartment is beautiful. Couldn’t imagine a better place to stay. Perfect balcony to sit and watch the world go by with a wine art night.
Nothing. The only very small negative was asking owner a question about a restaurant and not hearing anything back but Erick was very nice
Location location!!!! Host goes above and beyond with all amenities
The stairs. They were more of a surprise than a problem, nothing that we couldn’t manage.
Mr. Eric, the host, was always helpful and Nice. Location is perfect to walk anywhere.
Every detail in the house was very meticulous. we loved all the decor, ambiance and amenities. The coffee we drank and the food we ate in company with the canal view will be added to our unforgettable memories. Eric was very kind and helpful. We stayed for a week and he had the house cleaned twice. everything was awesome! 🌸
Staying right on the canal, watching the boats & activities from the balcony was amazing.
perfect location and lovely host!
The location was wonderful - overlooking the canal. It was very special to stay in such an old, original building - beautifully decorated and cared for.
Beautiful apartment, perfect location. The balcony was a huge bonus with lovely view of the canal and cafes. Our host Eric was very helpful and friendly.
Absolutely beautiful canal house with a great location. Host Eric extremely helpful and kind. Loved everything.
The apartment is really stunning with a great location, close to public transportation and within walking distance of a lot of things, like cafes, shops, restaurants and grocery stores. the kitchen is well equipped and Eric genorously had stocked it with snacks and drinks for us. He was really accommodating and flexible, and offered to store our luggage for us since we had a flight in the evening. The apartment itself was so beautifully decorated, felt like staying in a real home, and it was so nice to have a relaxing place to come back to even though we spent most our time exploring the city. The bed is comfortable, bathroom is big and the bathtub is a really nice touch. We loved!!! the view of the canal from the big windows in both the living room and bedroom.
The apartment doesn’t have a door or separate entrance, only a staircase, so if you are weird about privacy it might bother you. It did not bother us at all. The stairs up to the apartment and to the bedroom from the living area are really steep. I thought people in the reviews here were exaggerating but they really are steep, which is not a big issue for young people like us, but I imagine if you were older or had trouble with your legs or back it would be hard to get up and down as they are really narrow and steep. But for us it was okay!
location on the canals, decor and overall feel of the property
it could be noisy from passing people at night.
The location was fabulous….the view to the canal and access to a very nice neighbourhood. The apartment was comfortable and well equipped
The stairs… the stairs were incredibly narrow. We left our small bags in the lounge as it was too dangerous to carry them up to the bedroom. I don’t know how you would get a 20kg bag up the stairs . Every time we went up and down the stairs we had to be really very careful
great Location in the Center of the city
The host Eric was lovely! The apartment was lovely and so spacious! It was in a lovely location and close to lots of different things and only a few minutes walk from a tram stop. The view from the apartment is amazing. Eric also gave us some snacks and wine which was lovely! There was a €30 cleaning fee when you arrive which is fine. We were able to leave our bag in before check in and after check out which was really helpful so we could get out and explore! We would definitely stay here again.
Nothing it was lovely.
This is a beautiful apartment in a great location. Perfect for exploring the city as it is very central and the nearest tram stop is only a few minutes walk. Eric greeted us and provided a lovely welcome pack which was greatly appreciated. Sitting on the balcony people watching was such a treat!
Great place in the center of Amsterdam. The place feels very homely and has all the comfort you need. Meeting the friendly host at check in was a great extra. And they left us with a nice welcome gift pack
the decor, location, was nice and warm at night.
MICE. There are MICE in here. I contacted the owner and he didn’t care basically, admitted there are mice and told me just put all my things in the fridge, even though the damage was done. They went INSIDE my already packed backpack and ate and chewed through things. Meaning they touched my makeup, feminine products, all of which had to be thrown away, as well as Christmas gifts were ruined and thrown away. Didn’t offer to replace them. Disgusting how they KNEW there is mice and let us stay there. The host was so welcoming the first night, but after I text him about the mice, he basically stopped answering my messages. Really disappointing and put a negative sheen on the accommodation for us.
Eric, the host, was absolutely charming. He told us a little about the history of the building and he also provided some delicious wine & snacks which was lovely and very thoughtful. His warm and friendly welcome made our trip feel positive from the start. The accommodation was beautiful, full of character. It has excellent facilities and was very clean & warm with a lovely comfy bed. It's a perfect place to return to after a long day. We loved the balcony view overlooking the canal and enjoyed sitting and drinking our freshly made coffee, just watching and listening to the world passing by. The apartment is a great place to stay for exploring Amsterdam, every turn brings something new to see. It's only a short walk into the city centre where there's lots to do and see but just around the corner from the apartment we found rows of narrow cobbled streets full of artisan shops and some amazing local food shops and quirky pubs. We loved our stay here and would book again in a heartbeat ♡
Myself and my partner stayed here for a few days in August and we had the best time. The apartment is just beautiful, centrally located with picturesque views of Amsterdams canals. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed and we also received a little selection of local cheese, wine and chocolate on arrival. When we stayed it was very hot but Eric had placed lots of fans around the apartment for our comfort. Eric was the perfect host, helpful, friendly and the most wonderfully kind person. Checking in and checking out was so easy and he even let us store our suitcases for a few hours after checking in before we headed back to the airport. The bed was really comfortable with lots of hanging space in the bedroom. The bathroom with the huge bathtub was an added bonus. Honestly we couldn’t recommend staying here more if we tried. It made our first trip to Amsterdam unforgettable. Thank you again Eric, it was a pleasure to meet you and stay in your beautiful apartment
Nothing :)
Location was great. Really friendly host. Very cute apartment with a great balcony
Stairs were a little steep, there was also some confusion about the deposit prior to booking which I think needs more clear on the website/ from the people who send you a message after you book. There was a third party who messaged and I got confused as well as a strange reaction from booking.com about the messages.
