I LOVE this hotel. No notes :)

Stunning location. All the staff were lovely - really friendly and welcoming. Service overall was excellent. The room was very clean and well equipped. Breakfast was a real highlight! Lovely quality ingredients and something for everyone.

L’endroit est tout simplement magnifique, un cadre idyllique dans la campagne anglaise, mon hôtel coup de cœur de cette année! La chambre sous pente etait magnifique et la baignoire avec la vue egalement!

Peut être les employés pourraient être plus accueillants et avec plus d’expérience, le service au restaurant etait plutôt lent et les employés trop jeunes pour un établissement de ce genre (la façon de s’habiller egalement)

No swimming pool. Unfortunately we didn’t realise that the pool area was closed due to works. The children were disappointed.

The staff were so welcoming and the bed I have to say was the comfiest I have ever stayed in!

No shaving mirror in the bathroom. Low level lighting, whilst very atmospheric, made seeing enough to get a decent shave impossible.

Breakfast was lovely, and had a large selection to choose from. The room itself was comfortable and nicely appointed. The mood felt relaxing, but still well done. The grounds were very nice and even though there was some construction, it did not feel disruptive to our stay at all.

We had a fantastic stay from the moment we arrived – warm, attentive service that made us feel relaxed and looked after straight away. The food was a real highlight, both dinner and breakfast, with the scotch woodcock a particular standout. All of the dishes we had were absolutely delicious. We were recommended the Yuzu Negroni over dinner, and it definitely did not disappoint! crisp and refreshing take on a classic It's the perfect place to properly switch off: leave your phone in the room and enjoy the books, magazines, music and the tranquility of the surrounding countryside. Exactly what was needed for a few days away in the Cotswolds.

Honestly, nothing stood out – we couldn't fault the stay.

Everything! The room, and hotel reception areas, outside terraces were fantastic. The new owners of Hyll are currently renovating and extending the property and are doing a fabulous job. The overall atmosphere is so relaxing and calm, the detailing of items dotted around the hotel are without doubt the best I have ever seen. The meals and staff went way beyond our expectations. Cannot be faulted.

Este hotel está sin duda entre mis cinco favoritos de todos los hoteles en los que me he alojado. Pasé tres noches allí (en un principio iban a ser dos, pero alargué mi estancia una noche más porque nos encantó) y fue una experiencia maravillosa. Se ha cuidado hasta el más mínimo detalle. El desayuno es absolutamente fantástico, la cama es cómoda, todo es precioso, el personal es increíblemente amable, incluso el olor es increíble! Para ser sincera, espero volver.

Beim Frühstück war die Bedienung extrem langsam sowie das Auffüllen vom Frühstücksbueffet

Die Lage war wunderbar, das Ambiente superschön. Das Essen, das Frühstück war exzellent.

Das Zimmer war recht klein und das Bad auch. Am Waschbecken die Zähne putzen war gar nicht so einfach. Der Wasserhahn stimmt3 mit den Proportionen zum Waschbecken , nicht überein.

Start to finish everything was perfect, hats off to the superb team looking after us.

Room 27 needs a blackout blind in the bathroom. As the door between the bedroom and bathroom is glass, we were woken too early by the light streaming in.

Beautiful old property with positives being the atmosphere and views and chill ambiance. Great staff and evening meal was amazing.

The breakfast was very busy on Friday morning and a bit seemingly chaotic- had almost empty fruit plate and no yoghurt except coconut. Teas and coffees delivered late and porridge tasted odd. No air con, but Dyson fans in room helped a bit, but still very hot. Third world problems - otherwise an impeccable experience.

The welcoming staff, the fragrance pod in the room, the aesthetics and decor of the room, the homemade cookies, the coffee making pot, the comfortable bed and the bath with lovely smelling products.

No air con in the height of summer and only one fan provided.

Beautiful setting and scenery. The hotel has been lovingly modernised for a very comfortable stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms beautiful. Restaurant and bar area was lovely and we enjoyed a lovely anniversary meal. Every effort was made to help us relax which is exactly what was needed.

Our overhead shower did not work but only discovered late before needing to go for dinner. Meal service was a little fast. We’d had our first course and main within half an hour. However pudding was more leisurely.

Great location with beautiful views. Location is quite secluded but there are a couple of pubs a short drive away for dinner. The hotel has a really nice ambience and ethos centred around relaxing and taking it easy.

Everything. Night one was perfection (in room 10).

Second night in a different room (room 14) was much noisier - doors banging, Rolling Stones on full blast from another room, and lots of other erroneous sounds! Wasn’t advised there was building works going on as well. Breakfast could be improved - fruit selection was terrible considering its peak season. Otherwise all good!

The afternoon tea arrived 45mins after booking time and minimal choice for vegetarian. I requested the beds be moved apart to make a twin room which staff agreed to do whilst having afternoon tea but it didn’t happen (I ended up doing it myself). Lots of staff grouped together in bar/restaurant and when you walked through they all stared at you and stopped talking.

Excellent breakfast and staff friendliness was outstanding.

No AC made the room uncomfortable.

The invoicing for supper - everything was split 4 ways despite one person paying the bill including eg a glass of wine. Made it very hard to check and we had made clear one person was paying when we checked in

I didn't like having to wait to be served after being told to sit down someone will be over shortly.. four people were stood talking at the bar and we waiting over 10 minutes before I went back to the bar to ask for a drink. I also did not like the hotel did not have a pool even though on google the hotel apparently has a pool. The hotel is in a remote area with not alot to do.

Heel mooi hotel op een prachtig domein met een hele rustige ligging. Mooie ruime kamers die een gevoel van rust creëren. Uitgebreid ontbijt met buffet en à la carte opties. Cocktails ook lekker en verfijnd.

Personeel vergeet af en toe wel eens iets, waardoor de hoge service het soms laat afweten. Ondanks de belofte dat het zal gebeuren bleef de realisatie uit.

Amazing hotel in an amazing part of the UK. Staff where excellent food was excellent.

Although they don’t look very appealing, a mind you head sign on a few doorways around the hotel would have come in handy. At 6”3, I bumped my head a few times.

Food was excellent; drinks were imaginative, classic, and tasty. Staff were lovely. Wish I got to walk more of the surrounding property, but happy to see they are constructing more cottages for more to enjoy.

We had the misfortune of showing up when it was quite hot in England. Neither weather nor old construction is anyone's fault, but I did wish we could have more fans available. Given this is likely a weather trend going forward, I'd suggest the hotel purchase more fans. Towel turn over service each day was fabulous and unexpected, but I might have preferred just two towels per person in the room just as well.

Ein Hotel in toller Lage - auf den Hügeln von Cotswolds mit viel Atmosphäre und tollem Service - so richtig zum Entspannen. Aufmerksames und sehr zuvorkommendes Personal, dass noch so kleinen jeden Hinweis sofort aufnimmt und umsetzt. Die Zimmer sind modern und mit viel Geschmack eingerichtet - die Gemeinschaftsräume laden zum Entspannen ein. Das Restaurant ist für ein Dinner sehr empfehlenswert. Preis entspricht dem gehobenen Anspruch.

Etwas begrenzte Parkplatzsituation direkt am Haus/Zimmer - aber genügend auf dem Gelände.

Attic room was hard to cool in the recent heatwave & no fish options on the breakfast menu.

A beautiful property that has been renovated and styled to a really high standard . The real strength is the enthusiasm and commitment to service that the staff bring . They were a delight to interact with and could not be more helpful, or friendly.

The only downside is the building work that is going on with the construction of an annexe . This means that during the day there is noise from the construction work . The work normally finishes at about 3.30 pm. To be fair there is not a lot more the hotel can do.

Small niggles… atmospheric but rather dim bedroom lighting. No hooks in bathroom to hang anything.

Alles van de kunst aan de muur tot het radiootje naast het bed, aan alles was gedacht en alles even goed verzorgd en heerlijk. Mooie, ruime kamer en dito badkamer. Prachtig ingerichte woonkamers. Heerlijk restaurant. Geweldige tuin met mooi terras en uitzicht over de Cotswolds. Echt een aanrader dit hotel voor het ultieme Cotswolds gevoel.

Zou het niet kunnen bedenken…. Oh ja dat de kunst niet te koop was 😉

Place was lovely I think we were greeted by someone covering reception, she wasn’t very welcoming in fact quite off. It was extremely hot but as our first impression she let the place down. For the rest of the stay all other staff were absolutely fantastic the lady at breakfast had an accent was fantastic & the barman also insisted he brought my drinks outside then continued to have a chat, as we had been recommended to visit a few places he had worked at.

It was lovely, if I owned & had taken the trouble to make the place look as nice little details the room was clean but not spotless, the patio was lovely but untidy drink stains garden were ok but a little extra love would take this to another level & well deserved. Beautiful but unless someone looks at the finer details could easily start to look shabby.

Più che un hotel, l'Hyll è un luogo con una filosofia precisa: quella di rallentare, prendersi tempo e riscoprire il piacere delle cose vere. Immerso nella splendida campagna inglese, a pochi minuti da Chipping Campden, offre un'atmosfera di rara eleganza, raffinata ma non ostentata. Fin dal primo contatto abbiamo percepito un'attenzione autentica verso gli ospiti, fatta di cura, discrezione e piccoli dettagli che fanno la differenza. La camera era meravigliosa, ampia e confortevole, pensata per il benessere più assoluto (compreso il phon Dyson!). La colazione è stata forse la migliore del nostro viaggio: un ringraziamento allo chef e a tutto il personale di sala, attento, professionale e al tempo stesso riservato. Abbiamo scoperto solo alla fine che l'hotel mette a disposizione degli ospiti anche stivali e giacche Barbour per esplorare i sentieri della campagna circostante: un dettaglio che racconta perfettamente lo spirito del luogo e che ci piacerebbe sperimentare la prossima volta. L'Hyll non è soltanto un posto dove soggiornare: è un piccolo paradiso in cui fermarsi e respirare.

Location and Old part of the Hotel were lovely. Cuisine was excellent = except for Chicken that had ridiculously large (not very tasty) portions. Staff were very friendly and tea or drink service in the lounge was lovely.

Hotel sacrifices practicaility for aesthetics in the new rooms. 1. Rooms in the extension were all painted in a tasteful DARK hrown - including the ceilings - that makes it almost impossible to see the coffee maker let alone get dressed. Please paint the ceilings a light color! 2. Light fixtures are very tasteful and small. Bed area needs at le3ast ONE Bright Light in the main room! Note: Closets and Bathrooms are very well lit but NOT the main room. 3. Fire Alarm went off for no reason in the middle of the night and there was no way to contact the front desk (no phones in the rooms). No staff came to reassure guests after alarm was turned off. 4. Hotel did not make clear when booking which rooms were in the extension (i.e. NOT in the Old Building). 5. WiFi coverge was quite variable in the extension. Suggestion: The owners should stay in each room to validate Lighting and WiFi etc.

Beautiful setting with great views of the countryside. Lots of cozy lounge areas and a lot of nice touches such as a lit fire on a cool evening, plush furniture and, mostly, calming background music. Excellent cooked breakfast.

A lot of awkward design- beds too soft, shower only in a bathtub that was extraordinarily high and difficult to climb into and out of, no shaving/make up mirror in the bathroom, awkward and limited storage space for clothes. Regarding breakfast, they provided posh meusli and granola, but had none of the basics like corn flakes or Rice Krispies. Also, no draft beer on site and so a quite dead bar area. Also, while billed as a quiet, relaxing hotel, the persistent beat music in the late afternoon and evening, which could be heard in our bedroom, was very irritating (though the staff turned this down when asked).

From minute one, the staff were second to none. Each and every member of the team was a great ambassador for the hotel. Thank you! Oh… and the breakfast was great!

ABSOLUT TOT!

The hotel is beautiful and located near to the Cotswolds countryside. It’s surrounded by stunning fields, lovely walks nearby and you can even get yourself a Barbour coat and wellies and take yourself out on one of the trails.

Beautiful rooms, beautiful sitting rooms, breakfast and bar area are stunningly lit. Perfect relaxing atmosphere.

We stayed here for one night,and it was quite an expensive experience that unfortunately fell short of our expectations. On the positive side staff were friendly. And the food was very good. However there were several noticeable issues, the hotel is currently undergoing construction which didn’t really impact us but we did have a second choice hotel and had we known would have gone with that, cleanliness should have been better to reflect the price. The biggest disappointment was our room, the morning of our departure the shower flooded the bathroom, it became apparent that the staff already knew about this instead of proactively giving us a different room beforehand they only offered to move us after we encountered the flood, by then my husband couldn’t be bothered to move rooms to have a shower we were leaving early after breakfast. For the price we paid I expected far better, we were instead offered a travel cup and the box of sweets from the room in hindsight they should have offered a partial refund and we probably should have demanded one because selling a room with a known defective shower is completely unacceptable. It would have been the hotel’s responsibility to proactively offer some money back for a known broken room not the guest’s job to kick up a fuss.

The hotel is beautiful with attention to detail and design. We wish we had more than one night to explore the property.

All the food provided was excellent and the in room facilitates were great. We really enjoyed spending time in the lounges in the evening and the service was always first rate.

There was some noise in the room from the fridge and other sources.
