It is tucked away next to a main road with subway access a couple blocks down. Plenty of restaurant options in walking distance and a 7-11 around the corner. No issues with uber finding the hotel either.

Although it is right on the karasuma subway line, it’s another 5 blocks to the Tozai line where we had to transfer trains.

The staff was exceptional. The rooms are great.

Le logement de 3 chambres est vraiment spacieux avec un véritable espace salon salle-à-manger. Nous avons pu y dîner certains soirs tous les 6 (2 adultes et 4 ados jeunes adultes). L’happy hour est fort appréciable ainsi que l’atelier de calligraphie auquel nos filles ont participé. Le personnel est vraiment accueillant et serviable. Enfin la localisation nous a permis d’accéder facilement à tous les lieux que nous souhaitons visiter. Je recommande.

The apartment was very roomy. Having a washer drier in it was extremely convenient. The location was superb, 20min away from downtown Kyoto, many excellent restaurants nearby and a convenience store right next to it. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Honestly I’m trying to think of any feedback of things that could be improved but can’t think of anything.

Die Lage ist bereits ein großes Plus: Die U-Bahn ist fußläufig erreichbar, ebenso schöne Stadtbezirke und Märkte – ein idealer Ausgangspunkt für Kyoto. Was das Hotel darüber hinaus auszeichnet, ist die Atmosphäre. Das Team ist herzlich und sehr freundlich, die Zimmer sind toll gestaltet – mit Küche, Waschmaschine und Klimaanlage in allen Bereichen. Die Lobby lädt zum Verweilen ein: Tagsüber stehen Kakao, Tee und Kaffee – heiß oder eisgekühlt – bereit, abends gibt es Sake und Bier inklusive. Aktivitäten wie Kalligrafie runden das Angebot ab und sorgen für eine einladende, besondere Stimmung. Der Preis ist gehoben, wird aber durch die Qualität und den Service vollständig gerechtfertigt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Tolles Hotel in schöner Lage. U-Bahn und Laden in 100m Entfernung. Märkte, Sehrnswürdigkeiten und vieles mehr in 15-20 min zu Fuß zu erreichen oder schneller per Metro. Wunderschöne saubere Zimmer mit Klimaanlage, Küche, Waschmaschine. In der Lobby Wasser, Tee, Kaffee, Kakao etc. Und abends auch Bier und Sake inklusive. Sehr freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal. Etwas teurer, aber dafür auch sehr gut.

A bit distant from the Gion district, about 20 minutes walk.

Where do I start? My room had two separate bedrooms with their own doors, a living room setup, dining room table, refrigerator, AND a washer/dryer combo. My room also had two full bathrooms, which was great for the four of us. All of my other rooms in Japan (also at Mimarus) had a bunk bed next to the double bed and one full bathroom. There was also complementary beer and sake everyday between certain hours in the lobby.

Was a bit of a walk to a main shopping area. Not terrible though.

We arrived at 10 PM. We were exhausted and hungry. The front desk was closed. A person who didn't speak any English greeted us and even got our number of guests wrong.

Lovely staff and complimentary sake/beer/hot drinks was a nice touch. Felt very secure. Walking distance to the markets.

The carpet in the apartments is a bit average.

Location near train station, restaurants, and shopping was perfect; Staff was supportive, polite and easy to work with; Access to breakfast at the nearby hotel was great

We were concerned arriving as we were being taken by taxi up back alleys! But it's actually quite convenient, just a few steps from the main road. Plenty of food and shopping options on that main road, in both directions from the hotel and multiple convenience stores. We could walk to Nishiki Markets which was great. The Pokemon Centre was also walkable (7min) for my sons. We found this location great for sites, as we took taxis to Kyoto Palace, Kinkaku-ji and Kiyomizudera. We day tripped to Nara and Himeji. We had the Japanese room with tatami, it also had 2 bedrooms with a combined lounge/kitchen/dining. It was great and spacious. The washing machine was a great bonus but be aware it doesn't seem to have a cycle shorter than 3 hrs. The reception staff were always friendly.

We felt the room was really closed off. Because it's stuck between other building the windows have Japanese shades (which look lovely) and then frosted windows. I actually felt a bit clostrophobic initially. We swapped rooms with our boys so I could have one with a window, as the main room didn't have a window at all. The day we left we were disappointed by the staff though - I asked for them to order a large taxi for us (we had 4 people and 4 suitcases). He instead ordered 2 normal taxis which cost me double what it should have. Nice enough place but I think I prefered the location last time I stayed in Kyoto at New Miyako. This year that hotel was booked out, so we tried Mimaru instead.

The hotel was at a great location. It was close to the train station and it was close to most things many tourists would visit in Kyoto. The hotel room was also very clean and well stocked. The staff were friendly and the open bar and free coffee were huge bonuses to staying here.

I can’t think of any negative to this place.

Wonderful property. Clean, spacious, quiet, and very comfortable for my family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children). The staff is very accommodating. Perfect location near Shijo and Karasuma Station, close to 7-11, Lawson, and Family Mart. Plenty of great shopping and extraordinary restaurants within walking distance. Loved their morning drinks to start our day. Same day luggage transfer is always a huge plus, even to Disney Tokyo hotels. I highly recommend Mimaru suites Kyoto Shijo for any adventure in Kyoto.

Location! Easily walk everywhere. The free coffee & tea throughout the day. The lounge area. Happy hour at night. The three bedroom two bathroom suite was great for a family of four. Book early - they fill up quickly. The staff were very helpful and nice!

Two of the rooms didn’t have windows. They had nice lighting and we didn’t spend much time in there. We were fine without the windows, but worth mentioning.

Staff were fantastic and extremely helpful. They offered a happy hour each night with beer and sake available. The room was spacious and everything you needed was at the property.

The coffee machine/ice machine and happy hour (sake & beer) at reception were wonderful unexpected treats! The room size/space and washing machine were fantastic for a family of 5 adults! The lady who offered a little Japanese calligraphy lesson at reception was delightful! Great idea! This was our favourite location of all the Mimaru accommodations we stayed at (3 in 2 weeks)!! Will definitely be back!!

For the price, I wish they wiped down the kitchen table, counters and washed the dishes.

Excellent location and very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable and the kitchen facilities as well as the in-suite washer/dryer was very useful. The train stations and konbinis were a short walk away, with many restaurants and cafes in the area as well. We enjoyed our stay here.

Fantastic location, close proximity to everywhere we wanted to go. Hotel itself was fantastic, so much space we truly felt like it was home away from home. The extra things like the items available to rent and the Happy Hour were such a lovely touch!

The TV didn't have English subtitles, it would've been fun to understand some of the shows we were watching!

We loved everything. The staff were lovely, and we really appreciated the maps with suggestions for things to do in Kyoto. The rooms were perfect: spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with super comfortable beds. The kitchen was well equipped. The lobby was also great, with coffee machines, items available to borrow, and even an happy hour. It was truly a wonderful stay, and we would be very happy to come back. Even compared with other MIMARU hotels, this one was excellent.

La machine à laver dans la chambre, hyper pratique, les lits super confortables, le personnel à la réception toujours dispo pour nous faciliter la vie. Et petit plus non négligeable, l’apéro du soir (bières artisanales, saké) à disposition quand on rentre d’une bonne journée de visite, tellement génial !

It was a spacious suite with great facilities so we had the choice of eating in, doing washing and having separate rooms for the family. The staff were very helpful and there were additional specials like happy hour and use of yoga mats.

Great location - close to train station, a ton of convenience stores, and just a few blocks from downtown and nishiki market. There's also a really great bakery right around the corner. The rooms and space was large and as described which was nice to have for our family. Also loved having a washer and dryer in the unit and a fridge! Staff was friendly and loved the happy hour lobby drinks!

Nicely located near but not on the main road. Wonderfully helpful front desk staff. Lobby happy hour with a variety of beer and sake included, as well as water/ice and hot chocolate. Spacious rooms with comfortable amenities. Helpful instructions for using the washer/dryer and AC remotes.

Neither of our bedrooms has bedrooms which isn’t a huge problem, just surprising.

Suite was perfect. 2 separate bd rms and 2 Bath rms. Wash/dryer in the rm too.

Spacious, clean property in a fairly accessible location.

This property is not really walkable from Kyoto station and it’s difficult to travel with luggage on the subway so travelers should be aware that they will likely need to take a taxi/uber to/from Kyoto station if traveling with luggage. Also, some amenities like an iron are in short supply and must be reserved ahead of time (we were not able to secure one during our visit when needed unfortunately).

The location was great. Very central and walkable. The staff was extremely helpful.

The room was a lot smaller than what was portrayed in the listing and the washer/dryer took way longer than it should’ve (almost 4 hours for one cycle). When we first entered the room, there was a damp smell that went away by our second night. Also, we needed an iron and had to ask 4 times (over the course of 3 days) before getting one.

Location was great and in a safe area, easy access to the rail system. Very comfortable staying here with my family. The suites were way more spacious than the smaller hotel rooms in Japan. The staff were very helpful and communicated well in English overall. They had a variety of helpful pieces of info on things to do or where to go eat. The free bar was a nice touch for coffee, sake and beer (in the evenings).

Not much I didn’t like. Some amenities like an iron weren’t readily available but were eventually but that’s a minor point overall. Other than that, the suites were pricey but you pay for what you get an in this case we wanted the extra space.

有洗脫烘洗衣機非常棒,選的是三臥室套房,雖然隔音不好,但每個人能有自己的房間休息,還可以有一起看電視和吃飯的地方,很適合家族旅遊,房內甚至有英文的說明超市和超商分布的位置圖,非常貼心,可以帶回房內享用的飲料也很棒!!

距離地鐵站要走比較遠,但巴士站有很近的。
