No hot water in showers. Parking is additional cost and wasn’t clear in initial booking. Breakfast is quite poor.

The electric didn’t work in the room, the water when running come out green. Was the same throughout the whole hotel. The hotel staff was rude and not helpful.

I paid for a supreme double not quite sure what was supreme about it I essentially paid double including breakfast to stay on a concrete block with a bathroom that smelled of gas and had no washing stuff as I’d left mine at home thinking there would be some in the room, it was my first night away from home child free and really it was the worst night asleep I’ve ever had and I have 4 children so I’ve done sleepless nights physically not being able to get comfortable to sleep is awful I woke up in pain it was that uncomfortable, especially when I could of chosen a different hotel just down the road for half the price that would of been comfortable, I thought I was choosing a posh hotel that would be comfortable, I was so disappointed that I’d paid to sleep there

Booking.com guests have to pay for parking. But guests booking direct or just eating at restaurants do not. WHY? They have an enormous car park that was empty. Why selectively charge guests but not charge people just going there for a drink. Facilties were bland. Room was small, stuffy, characterless and smelt bad.

Location, outside space

Parking charges even though I was paying for accommodation was expected to pay for parking. Room card didn't work after one night even though was staying for 3 nights. Left hotel sign saying for room to be cleaned,, towels tidied, milk replenished but beds not made. In 2nd room, again room key failed after one night, room was very hot even with fan plus unpleasant smell present

Friendly staff, great food. Clean and comfortable room. Enjoyed the live entertainment in the pub

Slightly dated

The staff were extremely friendly and ,helpfull especailly the the lady on morning shifts that booked us in ( I am sorry for not getting her name). This was our 2nd time at this hotel and,we feel that ourselves and,our dog ,roxy were treated very well. The hotel itself was great ,clean and,in a very good location.food was very nice .the staff go out of thier way to make the stay as good as it possibly could have been..we would always look to book this hotel first when we have things to do in Gloucester

The staff were fabulous; shout out to Kirsty who checked us in and looked after us extremely well! The bar and kitchen staff were also very helpful. Room was extremely spacious too, with good shower pressure. Well appointed bar too, with good range of everything. Lots of parking.

The grounds around the side and back of the hotel need some serious attention and not happy that the rear car park appeared to be somewhere for locals to hang out smoking weed in their cars. Breakfast quite basic and some of the food on the servery had been around a bit too long. Having pre-booked at £9.99 probably not too bad value for money, but I would have been seriously disappointed if I'd paid £13.99 in the morning!

Breakfast was good

Tired rooms, air con doesn't work, rooms were very hot and uncomfortable and shower did not work. Tv controller didn't work and not enough towels in the bathroom. Paid for breakfast beforehand but the staff were insistent I hadn't so I paid again until I found proof and then was refunded to be told it will take 3-4 days to refund. Doors very noisy from neighbouring rooms and noisy road but have to have windows open due to heat. On arrival you have to pay for parking but no phone signal to scan Qr code so have to phone. It was just pure hassle

Labyrinth aus Gängen. Wir waren in einer großen Hitze Im Hotel. Es gab jedoch lediglich einen kleinen Ventilator. In unserm er erstes Zimmer war es heiß wie in einem Backofen, erst nach dem wir uns beschwerten bekamen wir eins, dass sich nicht so aufgeheizt hatte. Bei borheriger Prüfung hätte man wissen können, dass dies nicht zumutbar ist.

Super comfortable bed, particularly tasty breakfast, very accommodating staff, youtube on the TV, quiet location and easy to find.

Awful sleep- beds hard and could hear everything in rooms above and opposite. Barely slept due to the noise. We were on the ground floor so the people above sounded like moving furniture all night. Basic facilities in room, and got scolded by the shower.

Ontzettend vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel

Het bed (superior tweepersoonskamer) was klein; te klein voor twee volwassenen. Kamer was te warm. Daarnaast kwam ik op meerdere plaatsen in het gebouw spinnenwebben tegen. De inrichting van de hal was heel fris met mooie meubels en het ruime terras was een fijne plek om te ontspannen.

Sewage smell in many of the standard ground floor double room.

There were two entrances, and the first one we came to ( travelling south) was less attractive than the second one. The second one which led straight to reception gave a much better impression.

The bedroom was not pleasant - it was HOT (there was no A/C, no fan and the window only opened partially, letting in very little cool air). The facilities were basic and the carpet was grubby. At check in I had to pay an additional fee to park my car - this information was not visible when I booked my room online. (The hotel is situated out of town and the car park isn't busy so there is no reason to add this the bill.) When I mentioned my concerns to the front desk, I was told, "you know not to book here again".

The staff were really friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. Good breakfast with a choice of fruit, yogurt, cereal, pastries and full English.

A warm welcome from Harman at the very busy bar in the last 15 min of the England v Congo game. Harman was patient with my poor hearing and most helpful, with a good smile despite the cheering noises making it difficult. Will look forward to future stays with you.

Staff were absolutely brilliant. Beautiful building and outdoor areas. Breakfast nice. Pool table free to play, but can make a donation to charity if you wish to.

Lack of tea, coffee and toilet rolls in bedroom. Plus the bed was a bit hard for my liking, but you can't please everyone.

i didn't like having to pay for parking, especially as i have stayed before with free parking. if you go to the bar you get 4 hours free parking. why can't hotel guests have free parking till 10 am . plus i wasn;t told this till after i had booked the room and payed. i wiil stay else where in future.

Close to Gloucester and Tewkesbury. A real gem of a hotel. Rooms excellent staff very friendly. Great choice at breakfast. We will definitely be staying here again

They have a tuck shop outside which you can get ice cream from and the lobby area is nice.

My room was full of spiders and bugs....I'm not sure it had been cleaned for a while. I could hear upstairs all night.

Feel of the place was clean and had a lovely energy about the place We had the full breakfast which was hit and if a good standard - decent quality ingredients. Hotel team were efficient and friendly

Great location. New owners have obviously done a lot of work so far. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Staff very friendly and helpful especially Donna who took time for a chat while we waited for our evening meal. Thoughtful that they had placed fans in the rooms during the very hot weather.

Outside of Windows to the bedroom was very dirty and obviously not been cleaned in a very long time. Not usually an issue but due to hot weather we needed the window and curtains open and it was very unsightly.

It is in a good location if you have a car, being out of town. It has nice outside space for drinks and eating. The menu is limited, but was tasty and good value. The bar also was good value. The staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. The room is clean and had everything we needed. There is a huge car park which was brilliant for walking our dog before going to bed.

There's not a lot to dislike. You need a vehicle. Parking is charged.

Location was good for what I needed

The fact that on the website when you go to do the booking it states that you get a free parking space, but once you book it it then tells you that you have to pay £5.00 parking, this is inconsistent, when I arrived the lady on reception took another call and left me hanging until her colleague came to help, and also I had someone trying to get into my room at night and knocking on my door which meant that I could not sleep very well, so overall the experience was not a good one.

On Sunday 21st June, my husband and I, stepdaughter and partner had a roast dinner, we had beef which was cooked to perfection, thick slices with Yorkshire pudding and trimmings, thick gravy too. Compliments to the chef and staff who were all very friendly. We will certainly be back.
