We stayed for two nights and had great experience. The staff were incredibly generous and helpful, and the food was probably the best we had in the area. The hotel has a restaurant open to the public, serving authentic, high-quality food. The breakfast room has a view over a pond filled with golden carp. You’ll be given fish food if you’d like to feed them. Location-wise, it’s a smart choice. We really had a great time and would def stay again.

Das Ryokan wird liebevoll geführt und das Personal ist über alle Massen hilfsbereit. Das japanische Frühstück war hervorragend und wir haben genau erklärt bekommen, was es gibt und wie wir es essen. Das private Onsenbad ist ein Plus. Es gibt drei Massagesessel im Foyer, immer Eis, Kaffee und Tee. Auf dem Zimmer gab es kaltes und heisses Wasser. Auf dem Zimmer gab es noch ein schönes Set mit Sencha Tee und eine Anleitung dazu.

Die Ausstattung ist vielleicht schon ein bisschen älter, aber sehr sauber und gut gepflegt.

Il giardino è meraviglioso. La cena in giardino è stata una delle cose più belle del viaggio, atmosfera unica e carne eccezionale. Camera tradizionale per respirare appieno l'atmosfera di Kyoto.

Hotel jest pełen duszy, personel życzliwie pomaga i prezentuje miejscowe potrawy. Obiad Kaiseki był wspaniały, a jet lag nawet mi nie przeszkadzał, bo mogłam relaksować się z prywatnej łaźni z widokiem na ogród. Naprawdę, naprawdę polecam. Wrócę koniecznie.

To hotel dla ludzi którzy chcą zaznać tradycji Japonii. Jedyne co mi się nie podobało, to że nie wszyscy podróżni potrafią to uszanować.

The breakfast was amazing, we had dinner there too which was so special. the koi pond is so wonderful. The staff in every interaction were so freindly and helpful.

Let’s stop buying into this pretentious 'culture is everything'. This hotel is massively overrated. When there’s unflushed toilet paper from the previous guest in the bowl, when the power is so weak it can’t even charge a phone overnight, and when your staff are joking around in the back office completely ignoring guests ringing the front desk bell to death—you have absolutely zero right to preach about 'culture' or 'tradition'

A paz do jardim e do riacho do entorno deste ryokan geram uma atmosfera especial. As instalações muito típicas, mas muito bem cuidadas e bem equipadas. E o pessoal! Sempre gentis, solícitos e simpáticos! Muito obrigado!

It is located in a beautiful part of Kyoto, away from the hustle and bustle. Close walk to amazing Nanzen-ji temple. Absolutely breathtaking! M Stand across the street has great coffee and simple delicious breakfast.

The room was clean and the staff very kind. We were on the second floor with a private bathroom.

The photos on the website are deceptive as they are not from the hotel as much as from the restaurant. (Make sure to reserve the restaurant in advance if you want to eat there. ) It is just a hotel styled in Japanese ryokan. Don’t forget the city tax will have to be paid at checkout.

We stayed at Yachiyo for 9 days and it's perfect. The staff are warm & professional. Feeding the fish in the garden after breakfast was our favourite time. The room was spotless and cleaned thoroughly every two days. Laundry was cheap. The area is gorgeous, away from the crowds but plenty to do & great coffee at M Stand across the road. We have a 3 year old who loved the whole experience. They even provided a stroller! One point - blasting videos & talking on phones is inappropriate & annoying anywhere, let alone in a Japanese ryokan!

Can be seen as a little dated but that adds to the Charm!

I loved how they gave you such a wonderful experience. You could reserve the bathroom for private use. They removed and remade the beds for us during the day while we were out. There was soft serve ice cream and coffee available in the main rooms. Everyone was very nice!

Skøn ægte ryokan oplevelse. Som at træde ind i fortiden. Alt er meget autentisk, og det er netop det gode. Man kan ikke sammenligne med normalt hotel, så komfort og indretning og mad og personale er, som man er flyttet ind på en gammeldags japansk kro på den gode måde - det er ikke Hyatt eller Hilton. Det er ægte japan, inklusive de hårde senge ;-) Der er en utroligt smuk have med fisk. Der er også gratis softice, og kaffe, og massagestole. Det er vildt hyggeligt. For os var det en af de mest autentiske japanske oplevelser, som vi havde på vore tur. Morgenmaden kan du vælge melleml vestlig og japansk. Dejligt.

Vi kunne lide det hele. Men du skal vide at det er ægte japansk, så du ligger på gulvet og spiser ved lave borde, så du skal leve med den komfort, og så bare nyde at det også er lidt hårdt.

ロケーションが良く、とても静かで安らげました。GWの中で人混みが多い観光地であるがとても静かなエリアでゆったりと休めました。 夕食の懐石と朝食がとても美味しく、素敵な庭園を楽しみながら食事をする事ができました。次回お世話になる機会があれば、朝夕共に庭園に近い座敷、もしくは縁側をリクエストさせて頂きたいです。 また、食事を給仕頂いた方が非常に気さくで食事を楽しむ事ができました。

2Fの部屋であると専用のバスが古い1Rマンションで使用されている点。施設の構造上どうしようも無い気がするが、旅館としては少し残念だった。 代わりに大浴場を時間で貸し切って運用されているようでしたが45分間という短い時間でゆっくり出来なかった。

This is a a Ryokan hotel, which is the experience my daughter really wanted. The bath in the room was great and allowed the outside air in. It as large and kept hot. The staff kept water for tea for us all day and were very attentive to our needs.

I am 64, so the futons were a little hard on my back. I slept well, but I am better with a little softer bed--but this was the experience my daughter really wanted so it was a good stay.

Un établissement vraiment authentique et un personnel très sympathique et gentil. La chambre était superbe avec sa vue sur le petit jardin et son bain privé. Quant au restaurant, c'était une expérience culinaire fantastique. Du wagyu d'exception, du sake délicieux et un menu traditionnel kaiseki incroyable, le tout avec de nouveaux une vue sur un jardin de toute beauté. Il faut également souligner les équipements du salon commun avec machine à glace, du sake en dégustation et des fauteuils de massage, le tout en libre accès.

Everything about the experience we had here was outstanding. From the moment we arrived, we were shown great hospitality and care from staff, and the amenities and facilities were incredible. The breakfast and dinner sets were some of the best food we had while in Japan, and the private onsen was an incredible first-time experience. The unlimited ice-cream and massage chairs were a highlight as well!

Honestly, everything was perfect. The rooms were spacious and clean, the futon beds were comfortable, and the food was delicious. No faults!

Chambre propre et conforme aux attentes. Le bain privatif était exceptionnel après de bonnes journées de marche. Tout le personnel de l'établissement était top, que ce soit les personnes à la réception ou en charge du petit déjeuner. Nous avons eu le droit à des patchs chauffants en sortant le matin et ils nous ont même prêté un parapluie en jour de pluie ! Le petit déjeuner japonais était très bon et à chaque fois différent.

Une chambre assez chargée, pas assez de place pour ouvrir deux grosses valises.

This accommodation exudes a traditional, quaint Japanese atmosphere. The staff were extremely friendly, and the ryokan is well-maintained. The breakfast room features a garden, perfect for a leisurely meal or a stroll.

The location was amazing for feeling truly connected. The property was beautifully traditional and the surrounding area offered several opportunities to experience Kyoto’s culture.

Very beautiful and traditional Ryokan style hotel. The garden in the back is stunning and makes the perfect backdrop for a peaceful traditional Japanese style breakfast. The onsen was relaxing and the free ice cream and sake and massage chairs were a nice touch. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. The location is also ideal with close walking distance to many temples and the Philosopher's Path. I highly recommend it

If you are looking for a modern hotel this is not it, but that's the whole point. It still has modern amenities, but the reason I picked it is for the traditional style.

The breakfast and lunch were in a spectacular space with a view of the lovely gardens. We loved the onsen (and especially the private time) and the facilities provided (massage chair, icecream, coffee.). But most of all we loved the old style Japanese service and comfort provided. The location was very good too.

We can see the passing of an era, in our stay, and hope establishments like this one continue long into the future.

The property itself was nice and had a good atmosphere, but unfortunately the experience was completely ruined by the staff’s behavior.

Water in toilet was cut 11 am due to check out time to make pressure on us to leave exactly 11 am
