NOT A LOT, the Reception Staff were very pleasant on our arrival,but no mention of the Swimming Pool facilities. However, they did "upgrade" our Room to 3 beds for more space etc. but no help with luggage situated in a Public Car Park on the 3rd floor at a cost of £12 per day, all I saw on their Website was Parking, so I assumed it was theirs and not Public Paying. There was nowhere to off load our luggage, the street is a 'No Parking Zone' with electrically operated Posts. Hence, we at 70years plus had to manually transfer our luggage from a Public Car Park 3 floors up to the end of busy street ( Service Vehicles Only)We booked for 2 Dogs {Shih Tzu and Maltese Bichon). The Hotel "Allows Dogs" and charges my apply, However, on checking my Booking Details over the 'phone before leaving I was informed £15 per night per Dog, increasing the Booking Amount to £330.37 from £261.57. The Windows in the Room were filthy and could not be opened and base of bed Dirty, Cardboard (needed a fitted Valance.) We were informed on our return to Room after first night ( room had not been serviced, so no Beverages or bins emptied on a very hot day) the Rooms ony get serviced every 3 Day's.!! This was all so exhausting for an elderly couple to deal with, we left for home early on the 3rd Day of our Booking, could not deal with the absence of care a minute longer. I would never recommend this Hotel for Holiday's, probably more suitable to Professionals on one night stop overs. Cannot recommend and extremely disappointed.

Excellent place to stay right in Newport centre. Room was fantastic and had everything you’ll need for a stay there. Lovely breakfast in the morning too. Would recommend and stay there myself again. Huge secure NCP car park directly opposite if you’re arriving by car.

The hotel was way beyond what I expected for what we paid. The staff were really lovely, the room spacious, clean and air conditioned, plus some lovely extras such as a vanity mirror. It was great to have breakfast included as well. The hotel is right next to a big car park and the train station so perfect for our concert in Cardiff without paying Cardiff hotel prices and car park fees. We booked a year in advance and I know that when a big concert is on nearby some hotels over subscribe and then cancel bookings before or on arrival. Therefore I contacted the hotel several times throughout the year and paid upfront as they suggested to do this to help secure the booking. We also booked nearly check-in for £25 to make sure we had our room. We would definitely stay again.

9 out of 10 rather than 10 only because when contacting the hotel throughout the year to check the booking was secure and make sure that early check-in was still available I sometimes got different answers from different people on the front desk which unnerved me slightly, but all was well in the end. One staff member did admit that booking cancellations had occurred for another big concert. This seems to be an industry wide thing rather than unique to this hotel and it's horrible when it happens, especially if you are going to a time critical event.

Easy check in, buffet breakfast, good sized rooms, clean areas everywhere, basic necessities available, location was spot on. Walking distance to the train station and right at the heart of the city centre. Air-conditioning was available as well as a stand fan, comfortable beds. Very friendly and accommodating staff.

This hotel had queue when we arrived, all of those people were told 'we cant find your booking' or 'we've had to cancel your room' or 'we're overbooked' despite having booked nearly a year in advance! No help was offered. No manager on site to help staff. Personally I had booked 2 rooms a year in advance and was told a week before my stay that the rooms had been cancelled by the hotel. Had to re book at this same hotel, one room at a higher price, and confirmed with booking that I had the room through the chat feature. (There was seemingly no way to get through to the hotel directly, the phone didn't ring and the answerphone was full) Do not book this property, its not worth the few pounds youd save! There was vomit on the entrance steps and the reception toilets were out of order too!

The room size was excellent for 3 adults. The water pressure was great. The amount of towels and bathroom stuff was excellent. Air conditioned room.

The noise from the town. Sounded like a club was somewhere nearby and the music thumped through the pillow. The room had a slight unpleasant smell. Not horrific, but perhaps a little unclean.

We booked a family room and it had proper beds rather than a sofa bed. Beds were super comfy and the air con was great. Thank goodness as it was 36 degrees during the day and 26 at night! Air con was a bit noisy but fine with ear plugs. Some of the reviews mention noise until 4am from the nightclub below the family rooms. Luckily for us we were there on a Wednesday when the nightclub is closed! So we slept well and woke at 9.15am! Staff were friendly and offered to cook fresh breakfasts as food had been sitting on buffet for a while. Great location bear the train station.

Although the room was good (better than a Travelodge) the entrance, corridors, stairs and dining room were really tired and dated and in need of TLC. There was a funny smell in the reception area that other reviewers have also mentioned. The booking.com webpage is misleading as it states the hotel has car parking. No true. There is a NCP car park next door which you can pre book for £12. It was easy to find but the lifts were all out of order on our visit. And it seems that this is normal judging by reviews on the NCP website. Fine for us but you may want to think again if you don’t like stairs and luggage.

Nice modern hotel right in city centre, reception staff friendly and helpful, room nice and clean. Air-conditioning was a Godsend. Stayed here for the Day of Wreckoning festival which took place in Corn Exchange, Le Pub and McCanns which are all literally yards from the Hotel. Would stay here again

Only 2 minor quibbles. The floorboards were incredibly creaky so if you got up during the night to use the bathroom then you risk waking your partner and/or roommate. The other is that the windows did not open AT ALL. I understand the safety aspect of not allowing windows to open fully but it's nice to get a bit of fresh air sometimes even with the benefit of Air Con.

The room was clean and comfortable for the price and the location of the train station made cardiff very accessible without the cost of a hotel in the city

This hotel was perfect for breaking our rail journey, being only a short walk from the station. The staff were very warm and friendly.

Super convenient for Newport Station and town centre but this isn't a particularly exciting destination in itself.

Incredible room for incredible price. Extremely clean. Coffee and tea at disposal with boiler. Greta bathroom. Amazing bed made me feel like a prince. Great amenities with various lights for reading in bed and changing the atmosphere. Microwave downstairs which was very convenient. Good all you can eat full english breakfast. Incredible stay. The pubs noise I couldn't really hear and didn't distrubed me at all.

The bathroom leaked but they fixed it the next day. It happens, that's life. Most worrying was more walking to the hotel where I really didn't feel comfortable. It's not a ghetto don't get me wrong but they were a number of individuals on the way you wouldn't have gave your children to babysit, just felt unsafe but it might only have been me. Still I think it's ok and it's a great hotel.

The only thing of any note was that the windows didn’t open in the room. There was Air Con, but it would have been nice to have some fresh air.

There is a nightclub next to the hotel, and the music and bass were audible until 4:00 a.m. The noise made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. And no parking, closest is paid parking.

mattress was super worn out memory foam, the floors creaked really loud throughout the entire room and hallway, super unlevel floor which made the bed super uncomfortable because it was a split divan, every fixture in the room was loose, shower, taps, towel rail, mirror, all loose, bathroom was mouldy and the shower tray leaked really bad, biggest issue was the crackhead/antisocial types hanging around outside all night

The location was bang in the centre of town. The staff were really friendly and helpful, the food was tasty and not over priced. The rooms were clean and a good size, the bathroom was clean, the public spaces were clean. For the price, the hotel was great value for money

Terrible hotel，junkies and weird people lying on the ground and yelling right outside of the hotel front door.

We didn't actually stayed here，because our booking got canceled when we got there. Although our booking is still shown valid and didn't receive any cancelation notifications. BUT I guess it's a good thing，as the hotel environment is aweful，with only a tiny reception desk and A LOT of junkies and weired people just walking around.

Letehettem a csomagom a recepción, még a szoba elfoglalása előtt. A szállás tényleg a központban van, nagyon közel a vasúti és buszpályaudvarhoz. A személyzet nagyon segítőkész volt.

Nincs a szobában jetdugó csatlakozó. Általában már eleve olyan dugó van a szobákban, amin jet dugó csatlakozó is van. Így nem kell különböző csatlakozókat cipelni magammal, elég a kábel. Egyszerűen tudom így tölteni a telefonom. Végül a recepciós hölgy segítségével kaptam egy megfelelő dugót, amivel tölteni tudtam a telefont, de azért ez nagyon hiányzott. A másik szituáció a reggelivel kapcsolatos. Eredetileg reggelit is tartalmazott az ár, de ezt nem tudtam igénybe venni, mert a buszom 5:15-kor indult LGW felé, és a reggeli csak 7-től volt. Volt olyan hely, ahol ilyenkor reggeli csomagot adtak. Ez nekem nagyon hiányzott, mert nagyon feszes volt a menetrendem. Ez volt az első busz reggel, éppen el tudtam érni a repülőgépet, de már nem volt idő ételt vásárolni. Emiatt késő délutánig néhány szem keksszel kellett beérnem.

Excellent value for money. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. As an older, single woman I felt safe and secure. The breakfast was very good - tasty and a good choice. Very good indeed ☺️
