Station House Inn South Lake Tahoe

They have a lot of cute extras, like s'mores by the fire, a free welcome drink, and swimming pool.

The main issue was that the beds were poor quality and uncomfortable and the shower was clogged. The room had a musty smell and it was very dark, with not enough lights to see anything properly, even in the daytime. This was exacerbated by a bunch of small things, including there are no glasses in the room; only plastic cups are available from the front desk; the complementary water at the front desk was cloudy and warm; the shampoo/conditioner was runny and poor quality. Our room was supposedly pool view, but it was fully parking lot view, and a stairway over our entrance.

First the staff was exceptional. In my opinion the beds where the most comfortable i have ever found in a hotel/motel. They don't clean your room every day so no housekeepers waking you up. They don't have elevators and I am temporarily disabled they woman at the front desk went the extra mile to get us a first floor room.

Staff was so accommodating especially if you are checking in late. The smores activity for the kids was so fun. Enjoyed the amenities. The location is also great, close to Target and the main street.

No cons from what I experienced!

Amenities were great! Loved the fire pits, evening live music (some nights) and s'mores.

Hotel fell short on basics. First, room lighting was great for promotional photos but impossible to use for basic needs. Main room and sink area were dimly lit and impractical for a hotel room where guests must see for make up application, shaving and identifying items in travel bags. Second, pillows were horrible resulting in a few nights of inadequate sleep.

The staff were very friendly and were super helpful. Also there was free yoga on Sunday mornings.

The only thing was the lighting was a little dark but was a really nice room.

Love the amenities and cozy vibes. Lots of thoughtful touches that make this place feel special compared to big name hotels.

It did feel like you had to do all the asking-no housekeeping unless you request, towels requesting etc. it felt a little less luxury because of that

Great location in South Tahoe. Walking distance to the lake and Heavenly Village. Staff was always helpful and friendly. Pool was nice, restaurant on site was good and our son enjoyed the free s’mores kit for the fire pit.

Our room was right behind restaurant and laundry service area. Noisy morning. Gross restaurant items near our door. Mops, crates, boxes, etc. Grease and trash cans. Unappealing. Front desk check in was Sloooooooooooow.

they didn't use a box sheet on the mattress so the regular sheet used on top of the pillow-top mattress cover kept bunching up. despite this we still slept well.

Wonderful location near the lake and off the main road. Very comfortable and clean. Pleasant grounds. Nice lobby for morning coffee. The welcome wine or beer was most welcome!

Front desk staff did not give clear instruction on the pass for the private beach and we had to walk all the way back. The private beach is free after 5 pm but only with the passes.

The rooms are small and don’t offer daily room cleaning service for the price they are asking. Everything on their website looks more luxurious than it actually is.

We loved the location to the beach. Also, loved the restaurant with live entertainment. Quite the scene!

Excellent location, staff, activities, and renovated space

Location was great, we got a room with extra space and it was worth it. Parking is right by the rooms. Bed was comfy, room has a nice layout. I appreciated the free tea and coffee in the lobby.

Nothing specific comes to mind other than many work trucks taking over the parking lot in the evenings but that seems like something out of the hotel’s control.

Was a great location near hiking and restaurants. We loved the pool with live music. The s'mores and welcome drink were wonderful.

Room was comfortable but quite dark. A brighter light might have been helpful.

The location was nice.

The air conditioning/ we were having a heat wave though. The carpet was dirty but the rest was clean.

Good hotel for exploring the area, lots of food offerings reachable by car, nice little fire pit for evening beverage.

Overall, a good experience

Newer management? personalities and people working at the front desk are very unaccommodating and unfriendly, every year we've gone they taken away more and more services for the guest, and there are often weddings on the weekends, taking out the whole resort. We used to really like this motel

A great little place just far enough away from Heavenly Village. Great staff, free beverages on check in, fire pits and smore kits!

I loved the location to central South Lake Tahoe, walkable to the main areas. Very close proximity to the lake as well, just down the street. The amenities were great! The pool and fire pits were wonderful. They give you a s’mores kit in the evening for the fire pits, although we didn’t get the time to take advantage of it. Staff was so kind and helpful. The onsite restaurant is amazing!

The rooms were clean and comfortable, however, there isn’t much bright lighting in the rooms or the bathroom. The bathroom was also a little small for the toilet and shower combined.

The location is great, you have access to private beach, but it's usually very crowded we did not go there and rather drove to nevada beach, which is much better. Rooms are clean, staff is kind

Loved the fire pit and meeting with other travelers from around the world by the fire and making s’mores!

Poor drainage after it rains so most of the back parking lot flooded. Just have to come prepared with galoshes.

We had 8 rooms for a bachelorette party and it couldn’t have been a better location for the celebrity golf tourney.

The room was dirty and unclean. There was smell of urine and the bathroom was dirty. It was terrible. The beds were uncomfortable, there was no housekeeping even after we requested multiple times.

There is no one on site from 11 pm till morning. Someone locked themselves out of their room and there was no one to assist.

The hotel has a 4 minute walk to a private beach. Nice pool and hot tub. The staff were very friendly and considerate.

The room was poorly lit . It was pretty dark even with all of the lights on. I spoke with another guest and they said the same of their room. The bed wasn't very comfortable.

The bed was comfortable.

The room was extremely dark, even in the bathroom.

The room has a shape closer to a square than a traditional rectangular shape which gives it a roomier feeling. It provides free pass to nearby private beach.

Room is dark and can have some brighter light fixture.

The proximity to both the beach and the casinos was very good. Also next to a decent neighborhood, I liked that it wasn’t surrounded by dumpy hotels

The lobby area was old and a little dumpy, the bathrooms were a little gross, the rooms were ok but comfortable enough.

I liked everything about it except for I was traveling with a dog who will not go up the stairs so I wish I would’ve pushed for a downstairs room
